• Erin (7/5): Overall we’d stay again, just wish for a little better customer service, I don’t think we were asking for too much. - We appreciated the location, amenities and comfort of the rooms. We had requested an early check in and were not able to check in when we arrived, we understand that and definitely want the staff to have adequate time to clean the rooms. We had stayed once before and were able to use the breakfast room to eat dinner the night before as a family, we were not allowed to do that this time and that was really disappointing, we had several family members and had to use a single picnic table outside to eat together. Most of us stood. We were there for a funeral and it would have been really nice to be accommodated, we would have cleaned up after ourselves. Just seemed like everyone wanted to say no about everything and that was so different from our last stay where it felt like people cared.

• Donald (8/5): - Nice breakfast. Good coffee. Our room was on the second floor. We loaded up the luggage cart, and we were surprised to find that there was no elevator. Carrying luggage up the stairs is not what we "senior" folks enjoy doing.

• Elizabeth (8/5): A friendly stay with a nice breakfast but in need of bettersoundproofing and heating systems. - Glenwood is a wonderful little town just a short drive from Alexandria. We saved over 30% on our hotel bill this weekend by choosing Glenwood over Alex. The facility was well-maintained and fairly clean. There was no smell of smoke or pets in our room, which was pleasant. The staff was all friendly and helpful. We arrived the first night to a warm room (see below for comments about the second night!) The breakfast had a nice variety including some staples like cereal, breads, waffles, and yogurt everyday, but the hot dishes changed each day having biscuits and gravy one morning and sausage and eggs another. That was nice. A little fresh fruit would be great! Overall I would recommend this hotel. The soundproofing is not great. We could hear dogs, babies, and loud conversations of neighbors even until 11pm. The worst was returning to our hotel room the second night. We allowed room service to provide us with some fresh towels, and they did. But they also turned the thermostat on our heater way down so we came home to a frigid room with an even colder bathroom. There are no heat vents in the bathroom so it never did warm up before our evening showers. The bed next to the heater gets very hot while the bed farther away is still cool, so setting a suitable temperature is also challenging.

• ANNE (10/5): This hotel is GREAT: clean, quiet, and a great breakfast. - I liked everything about this hotel. My room was extremely clean, the bedding was crisp and comfortable, my room and the entire hotel smelled wonderful too, and the breakfast was extremely good. I liked that they offered healthy options, including fresh fruit, oatmeal with walnuts, yogurt and hard-boiled eggs. The staff was very friendly too! Honestly, nothing could be better.

• Darrell (6/5): - This hotel is close to the lake which is very nice. There are several nice restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The hotel is run down and definitely not worth the price but it is the better hotel in the area. Our room had mold in several places. A very nicely located hotel but not nicely priced.
• Trish (10/5): - This was our favorite hotel on our trip! Clean, wonderful and accommodating staff, friendly hosts. Pool was clean but hot tub was out of commission. Conveniently located near the lake, a store across the street. Small town but superb hotel. They had two weddings and were full to the brim but worked hard to keep us in our same room the entire time. Will definitely stay again.

Why have seating and tv in the lobby if you are going to make guests feel like we are inconveniencing you by enjoying those spaces?

We had a group of people congregating in the lobby at 10:30pm and were there for maybe 5 minutes. She snapped at said it was quiet hours and we dispersed quickly. The next morning, multiple rooms had notes slipped under their door reminding us the lobby is not for congregating and that we were being to loud for the 5 minutes we were down there? Next morning someone else went to ask for more towels at the front desk and they asked how many towels were in the room. Answered four and the person just paused and said “you need more than four towels”? You’re running a hotel, both seem like commonplace to me.

• IsabelS281 (4/5): was very disappointing to be honest - the beds as usual in the USA are super comfortable. The breakfast was allright - you always find something better in other places but you are not going out empty stomach. A smart TV would be great or the possibilty to plug in our devices and stream. Wifi was not working at all - in the morning they told us its now working which was not good enough. If we would have known that we wouldnt have stayed to be honest. Specially when you pay over 100 Dollars for a room you expect a better service. I was even asked to phone up myself the WIFI provider ..... are you having a laugh - its not my Internet/Wifi which is not working - it was the hotels one.
