277audreyf (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Had a wonderful stay. Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was delicious and staff was very friendly. Right on the I-94 so very convenient for travellers passing through. Reasonable rates as well. Beautiful place, would definitely stay here again!!

The only person who speaks english was never at the desk, so the lady would always call the main guy on video call to speak with us and then give her instructions. I could barely understand him on the phone as it was. I need to check out a little late (1pm) a day early to go home and help a friend who'd daughter had just died. They still charged me for the full room for the night I wasn't even there. Heartless.
collinm564 (2/5): Horrible Experience! - Stay at Nineteen26 at all costs! Do not stay here! We booked a stay here for one night (I have a confirmation email to prove it). When we checked in, Raj told us that we had a two night reservation and that we were supposed to check in the night before. I showed him my confirmation email (which is from steele@staycobblestone.com. I have it attached to this review). He completely ignored it and made it sound like the email wasn't from him. He then took my phone, closes out of my email, and proceeds to take a picture of his computer screen. Of course, I see what he sees, his system had us in for two nights. My confirmation email says it was only one. I told him we were not paying for two nights because our confirmation email only has us confirmed for one (I would have happily paid for two nights if it was my fault and I showed up late, but that's not what happened). After nearly half an hour of useless conversation, Raj said "I am not doing anything" after we said "we are asking you to help us because there is something wrong on your end and we are asking you to help us fix it". We hoped there would have been someone else working the morning we checked out to see if they would be more helpful. It was Raj again. He gave me the name of the website that I supposedly used to book the reservation and said to call them (Yay! Right?). It was a complete lie! I checked their website and called them, they said that I did not book the reservation through them. I will be calling their corporate office on Monday since apparently customer service does not exist in Steele. Hopefully they have someone that's actually helpful. I am not one to try to bash a business online, but this is unacceptable and everyone should know about this before trying to book here. If you have any problems, don't expect them to be solved by their manager!
ClarenceGilstad (4/5): Buyer Beware Confirm your prices before staying - Booking online with the Cobblestone in steel is risky at best. Got over charged on rooms we had for 2 nights. Charged us King prices for queen room and when we ask for it to be corrected. No Sorry you booked it online and nothing he can do about it. Very hard to work with and its his way or no way. Will never stay here again.

GrandTour09861058021 (2/5): Hidden “optional safe fee” automatically added price adjusted after confirmation - Make sure you double check your bill! They add an “optional” safe fee each night that you must ask to be removed. And even when you do they keep it on there. Plus our confirmed rate was emailed to us at $117 a night and they tried charging $156! Staff when called at first asked me to “call back” when all I initially asked was to make sure the “optional fee” was removed. Thankfully I had read a review from another guest that alerted us to this charge.

My client booked you but if it had been me, I'd have booked at a hotel that wasn't quite that money hungry. I won't book you on my own until you get rid of that.
sharonsoren (2/5): No free lunch - Lobby smelled of chlorine. Continental breakfast was very lack luster… nasty, I.e. waffle maker not cleaned — food looked as if it was stuck for days!! Lack of food, eggs & sausage gravy kept warm in crockpot with spoons rested on same plate , shriveled fruit, no coffee, staff lack of staff service with replenishment and it was only 1 hour into weekend service (7:00 am-10:00am). Garbage can full. Phone and card for assistance to be used for service. Bed was comfortable and clean. Lobby still decorated from last Christmas, tree in corner, lit.

Verified traveler (8/5): Needs some cleaning - The hotel rooms were nice enough and the beds were comfortable. The only real issue was the giant black streak of mold that was along the top of the shower. Not mildew. I know the difference. Something like that doesnt just appear over night so it made me a little leery about my stay there.

KeyCard reader was not working at the back door, peepholes were missing on SEVERAL of the rooms at this location. Our room smelled, Beds were dirty, the toilet seat was loose and the peephole was missing. The person who check me in, brought an injured bird in to the hotel and let it try to fly around and kept it in the hotel for at least an hour until i saw him release it in the back. My self and my family WILL NOT BE coming back to this hotel. I will be driving an extra 40 min to Bismarck and stay at a more cleaner, friendlier and maintained hotel.

Alina Desirée (8/5): - The property is at the best spot to stay in Steele. You will be walking distance from the only food options in town other than the local vets building- Coffee Cup truck stop, which has a Subway, Pizza Hut, Caribou Coffee and Cinnabon. The rooms were modest but clean, the showers ran hot, and the breakfast and coffee provided were decent. The only MASSIVE issue is the absolutely belligerent front desk host/manager/owner? Don't bother filling out the hotel's prompts for pre check in, which includes giving out your personal info, because he will quite literally yell at you that he does not care what the Cobblestone website/texts/emails say, he will not honor any of it. He says there are many Cobblestones, and this one is his and "online is different". This hotel is run by someone that knows that you have zero other options in the area, so you can't do anything about it except accept your fate. It's a pity, because the rest of the staff seemed incredibly friendly and everyone in town was absolutely lovely.

Donna (4/5): Will not return - I rarely leave a negative review. But, as nice as this property looks, the service was ugly. I made my reservation online, the morning of my reservations. I received a text message to go to an additional website and enter all my information again. Basically everything they do when you check in. I noted I was traveling with my small dog, I noted that on my original reservation and on the text message link they sent me. It was noted that the pet deposit was $25 when I went to check in I believe the gentleman had no idea how to use the software they had asked for my name twice, one in my ID again after it had been scanned in one of my credit card again gives me your room key and I look at my go. I am traveling with my small dog. And he goes oh $30 pet deposit I’d like no and I brought up the app that I was sent. I showed him the charge is $25 and he kept he wanted to argue with me that that’s only if you do it online; I told him I did do it online twice. He was rude and argumentative. I believe it’s just him and his wife running the hotel and I would make the assumption they are living there too. When I entered the lobby, there was a phone that said pick up receiver for Assistance. So I did that and I was asked what do it what did I need, I said I was needing to check in. He just hung the phone up; no I will be there in a moment. His accent made it difficult to understand everything he was asking me or telling me. Backyard full of dog poop. He tried to get me to checkout early.

There was an old credit card on file at hotel that he tried to charge. Thankfully it was expired. It overall room was clean and breakfast was okay. Iwe were very annoyed at checkin.
thanks1962 (6/5): Owners of this Great place should be aware of workers customer service. - A man was checking in as I walked into the motel. After he was checked in I stepped up to the counter. The employee did not say a word, just kept typing into his computer for what seemed like 5 minutes before he said hello. Very uncomfortable. At that time we were the only two guests checked into the motel. By morning one other person had checked in.
Z3492EGdiannew (2/5): Not so good… - Nothing wrong with the actual room, except impossible to get cold water for a drink of water! The cold tap stayed nearly hot in basin and tub. When asked about it, told there was ice. There had been an ice storm…nothing had been done to melt the ice etc. NOTHING. We had reserved and paid for the room by credit card prior to arriving. I entered the hotel on hands and knees. Parking the car was more than treacherous for my 80 year old husband. The worst part was the gentlemen, owners I think, did not care. This morning when we checked out, they were unable to provide a receipt. After an hour waiting, we left but it is an uncomfortable feeling, and an experience we will not forget.

Fran (10/5): - This was a find! A pleasant, spotless room with all standard amenities in a remote region of ND with very few services. The building was nice and new and had mini versions of all facilities such as breakfast, exercise room, and lounge. There's also a wonderful little travel plaza just steps away. The only problem was dragging my luggage up a flight of stairs. If this is an issue for you, request a first floor room.

The hotel and rooms had no smell which is an A I often gag at the smell of disinfectant sprays or febreeze smells, which is actually a sign of a dirty room. I would definitely stay at this place again.

GUnrau (10/5): Rooms - Rooms were clean & breakfast was great. Tables could have been cleared off & cleaned quicker. There was only one table to choose when we came in for breakfast, all the rest were dirty. Check in took a bit of time but that is to be expected when the new manager is learning the computer program.
Travelinggrandpeople (10/5): Friendly and clean hotel ! - So happy we found this hotel on a busy Summer night as all hotels were sold out in Bismark and we were too tired to keep driving. Very clean with nice amenities such as laundry and breakfast buffet. Friendly front desk agent told us about Vets bar and restaurant downtown. Great food and commradery! We will be back!
Toyoftyg (10/5): Reunion brought us to town - Having had family live in Steele for many years, glad to see this addition. Great hotel with many amenities. Hot breakfast has good selections, staff attentive and the rooms, large, king bed, extremely clean. Will consider staying again when back in town.

chewbdu (10/5): Great motel - I have stayed here before so knew what I was getting. The motel is right off the freeway and easy to get to. There is ample parking. The room was very nice and clean. The motel staff was very helpful. they are god friendly and there is is big field behind the motel for them to go potty. It has a laundry and a small gym also. I will definitely stay here again.

Thomas (4/5): - My daughter and I were initially very pleased with the appearance of the property and the friendly greeting we were given upon arrival. When we got to our room we noticed the TV was not working and moved to another room where it worked. I thought the bed was lumpy and pillows were hard. The shower the next morning had VERY slow drain and by the end I was standing in a lake. Also the shower head should have been replaced long ago. I would not recommend this hotel until some needed work is done to update some things. Staff was great!
Brittany (2/5): Over charged - My card was charged $93 more after the room was already paid for. We got there at 11:00pm and left at 6:00 and were charged double the room price.

Paul (10/5): Hidden Gem of a Hotel in a small town. - We enjoyed watching an NBA Play-Off game and then got some sleep. The room was clean with everything we needed. We also had full control of the temperature of the room. It was also very quiet, which was helpful for getting sleep. I would recommend it to anyone who needed a hotel in that location. It was way better than anything you could get in Bismarck for a similar price.

Mike (8/5): Nice hotel but no elevator - The hotel was nice and clean. The people at the front desk were helpful. The problem we had was that there was no elevator. How can senior citizens get their luggage up to the second floor? Fortunately for us there were some rooms available on the first floor, although the king size beds were on the second floor.
Steve (8/5): Stay in Jamestown to the east! - Spartan but clean. Complimentary breakfast consisted of wrapped muffins and someone from the staff pouring your coffee : ( Don't bring an appetite to Steele because unless the local VFW (AMVETS) is open you'll be limited to a 9" pizza from Pizza Hut at the fuel depot across the road. THERE IS NO OTHER FOOD IN STEELE!! No motorcycle wash rack...
