- Val Joe (8/5): - Southern Sun Ridgeway is beautiful. I’ve been going there for many years. It’s now all been remodeled and updated, which it needed. Sadly, due to Covid, many of the old familiar faces are no longer to be seen. And it seems to me like some of the new staff, at least in dining for example, don’t get “service” as well as they should. But the food is fine and my housekeeper kept my room spotless during my five night stay. It’s quiet and peaceful. I very much recommend it.
- Yvonne (8/5): Great Lusaka hotel - Another great stay. Staff are great and rooms are clean and comfortable. Only down side to my stay was the fact there was no draught beer! Also not great to see (or use) plastic sticks for the tea and coffee. In this day and age it’s really not what you expect. Replace with metal spoons and look at eco friendly options to replace all of the plastic, including all of the miniature toiletries

Rooms are always clean and comfortable - hot showers, great shower pressure, soft linens, great pillows, blackout curtains and fluffy towels. Staff are always welcoming and helpful from check in to check out. Breakfast is 10/10 especially the garden/pond vibe. The only suggestion is that the pool needs a little love. Definitely swimmable, but ageing a bit.
- ANTONY (8/5): Stylish room upgrades - I have stayed at this property several times over the last 10 years and always enjoy seeing the baby crocodiles in the hotel pond. The rooms have recently had an excellent makeover with a great African safari type theme. Service is rather slow, perfunctory and unattentive at times at the restaurant and this is my only slight gripe. Full marks to the front desk staff for allowing me a late check out. I will return.

- Michelle (10/5): Excellent Room - Service Could Be a Bit Better - I had been to many other hotels in Lusaka but I was very pleasantly surprised by my room at Southern Sun. It was newly renovated and stylishly decorated. The breakfast selections were very good, complete with an omelette station, cappuccino selections, and 30+ food options. The only hesitation in my review was that when I reviewed at 3 AM in the morning, the hotel gave me a scare by saying they were completely booked even though I had booked and paid for my reservation in advance. I had even called to inform them that I'd be arriving via a late night international flight!
- Cindy (10/5): Ideal for Business stay - Conveniently located in the city of Lusaka. Perfect location for my business needs. Excellent wifi which is extremely important for when i travel for work. They do offer shuttle, however i did not make use of this service. Front desk staff were efficient and friendly. Dinner from the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast buffet is good, but think there could be a few more options in the hot section. The rooms are modern and has all one needs. The beds are extremely comfortable and i just loved those pillows. Overall excellent stay, highly recommend and will be back.
- kp (8/5): - I stayed in one of the newly refurbished standard rooms. Mine was relatively small, but, very well done and comfortable. T0p marks for the redesign. Food was just OK and the gym is lacking. For those reasons I transferred to the Radisson Blu on my return.

The restaurant and bar were very nice and had a good selection of food and drink. The setting around the crocodile pond was comfortable and relaxing. The hotel was undergoing renovations and my only real complaint was that my room had not yet been renovated. The carpet was worn, the furniture was very dated, and the a/c did not work initially. The hotel maintenance staff worked hard and finally got the a/c working.

- Jude (8/5): Business trip review. - Overall, it was a great stay. Enjoyed the central located pond with the birds. Did not get to use the gym or pool. Being in the tropic expect some bugs and mosquitoes in the common open areas. The restaurant and pub area are nice with great food but sometimes the servers are inattentive. Placement of the room air conditioners directly over the clothes wardrobe is weird. Rooms are clean and nice otherwise in typical SS standard. Wifi connection strength was not uniform and terrible in some rooms. Carpet clean but could do with some upgrades soon.
