Guest Reviews
- Jan (8/5): - New carpet needed. Breakfast good. Very convenient
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent hotel but overpriced considering no aircon - This hotel is decent but at the price we paid you would have expected air conditioning
- Cynthia (10/5): - No Air
- Will (10/5): - The staff spoke good English. It was very clean and tidy. Continental breakfast was very nice.
- John (10/5): - Great receptionist!
- Martin (10/5): Great stop before the ferry - Just a one night stopover before catching the ferry home. Really nice, clean, modern hotel. Great secure parking underneath hotel. Good breakfast with plenty of choice
- GRAHAM (8/5): - Hotel was close to ferry port [ 5 minutes], with a private underground garage on several levels.
Basic hotel, but good continental breakfast.
Short walk into town, with great restaurants and cafes on the seafront.
There is a beautiful walk on the headland a must sit and watch the magnifcent sunset across the harbour!
- Jocelyn (8/5): - Perfectly located for the ferry port with its own underground car park (which is extra and needs to be pre-booked by phone on the day). Easy walk to the beaches, bars and restaurants in the Saint Servan area (we recommend Les Toqués). Very good breakfast buffet. Helpful staff.
- Francis (6/5): - Convenient for ferry but, although WiFi was supposedly available, it was impossible to get connected
- Aldwyn (6/5): - convenient to port
- Jackie (8/5): - Nice stay but wasn’t able to connect to WIFI on my room
- Alice (10/5): - Dependable, convenient, cleanliness - all that our family has been accustomed to the Ibis chain
- Roberta (6/5): Nice hotel - Lovely clean hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. However, the heater in the room didn’t work properly, the bathroom was freezing and no Wi-Fi available.
- mark (10/5): St Malo - Friendly helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Good breakfast buffet.
- J (10/5): Pre ferry stay - Lovely staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable bed and superb value.
- Christiaan (8/5): - Great location. Conveniently close to ferry. Walking distance to Old Town.
- Karl (10/5): - We had a joining room which worked well. Clean, comfortable rooms. Aircon would improve the place but very convenient location for visiting st malo and for the ferry terminal. Would stay again.
- Glenn (4/5): - No AC, broken lift, broken door handle ...
- Andrew (8/5): One night stay - Hotel. Was nice for 1 nice location good to ferry basic room buffet breakfast loads of choice
- Barbara (8/5): - Very pleased with the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful also walking distance into St Malo.
- milton (10/5): - close to ferry port
- Ira Leonard (10/5): All ok - All good staff brilliant location
All Ok
- P (10/5): - Very welcoming staff and great place to stay.
- ELIZABETH (8/5): Good overnight - Fantastic service from all staff. Hotel dated and not what I expected. Great location.
- Christopher (10/5): Sweet St Malo - A warm welcome from the lovely staff at reception. I could park with no problems even though my vehicle was a little too high for the underground parking.
Comfortable bed in a quiet room.
Breakfast was good as to be expected with ibis. All in all good value.
- Moraig (10/5): - Excellent receptionist who was welcoming & efficient with the bonus of good English.
- Eric (10/5): - The hotel has a modern feel and the staff people are very attentive. The location has advantages and disadvantages. It is away from city center so it is easy to get in and out. Parking is available at the hotel. However it faces a working harbor area with warehouses. It is on a very busy entrance way to the city. We found a few nice restaurants in the area but there are obviously fewer than in city center.
- Patricia (10/5): - Reception accommodated our late arrival and provided extra pillows.
Breakfast was plentiful with plenty of choice. Location is excellent for overnight stay before catching ferry.
- J (10/5): Saint Malo Stop-Over - Excellent location for a quick stop-over prior to catching ferry home next day. Short walk to harbour and some great restaurants. Staff really helpful.
- Mark (10/5): - The staff were excellent and the service was exemplary
- Adrian (10/5): CONVENIENT AND GOOD VALUE - Nice littel budget hotel very conveniently located for the ferry terminal. Perfectly clean and a perfectly good breakfast. It has a secure parking garage, though it does cost 13 euros.
- Marcus (10/5): - Excellent hotel. Close to the centre. Easy to walk. will use again.
- Alexander S (8/5): - After 300 miles driving my Deux Cheveau, it was good to meet a welcoming face, covered parking and a clean room. There was a problem with the shower head which had to be hand held but otherwise everything else was fine.
- Nicholas (10/5): Great Stop Over - We had a one night stop over before catching a ferry home. The hotel was ideal as they had secure parking. The lady on reception could not have been more helpful and allowed us to leave the car parked until 4pm on the day of our departure. This allowed us to go and explore St Malo old town during our last day.
- Farid (10/5): - Lovely staff.
Friendly and helpful.
Good breakfast.
- David (8/5): One night - Staff were excellent overall great service
- Jonathan (10/5): - It was lovely
- Caroline (8/5): - The bed was comfortable. The shower room is looking a little tired now. Overall a good stay and very handy for the ferry.
- caroline (8/5): Tiny Bed - We had a wheelchair friendly room, which we didn’t book, huge but the bed was tiny and had a plastic coated mattress cover which made it hot during the night.
- Michael (10/5): - Reliable, sets a good standard, very convenient for the ferries.
- Caroline (10/5): Eco Friendly Hotel - Very comfortable stay overnight, although the room as perhaps a little too hot. Breakfast excellent.
- John (8/5): - Good for the ferry pier for early morning departures with underground parking. You are a taxi ride away from the walls and the main eating areas of st malo. Functional and great for the ferry to the Channel Islands .
- David (8/5): Nice hotel friendly staff - Nice hotel and staff not to far from town
- Stuart (10/5): - Nice hotel very handy for port
- Simon (10/5): Comfortable near the town centre. - Good hotel close to the centre of St Malo and close to the ferry terminal. A stay here was convenient for an early sailing with my motorcycle. The parking could be cheaper at €13, but it was a secure underground car park so fine.
- James (8/5): - Welcoming staff. Easy to locate. Very close to ferry port. Easy walk over bridge to city centre.
- Raphael (6/5): - It is about 25 min walk to the inner old city which is very touristy. The hotel offers basic accommodations. Staff are young with not much experience. Car parking is offered and adequate.
- Tina (10/5): - Perfect location for the ferry and convenient parking and although we didn't take advantage they arrange breakfast early for those heading ton ferry.
Even though it was a Sunday we were directed to beach area for something to eat. Had the best meal of our holiday in a lovely wee restaurant on Main Street. Would highly recommend you check out "la Gourmand'ille
- Jacqueline (8/5): Close to Ferries - Convenient and all OK
- Caroline (10/5): No wifi in room. - Very comfortable, shame about wifi only being available in the reception area and NOT in the room.
- Sean (8/5): A comfortable stay - During our stay, the staff were both courteous and helpful.
There is onsite parking in the basement of the hotel but it is paid. To access it, you use the intercom at the parking entrance to request reception to remotely open its up-and-over door.
The property is within walking distance of the Intermuros (walled citadel}.
Our room was clean and of a reasonable size, the double bed was comfortable, and the bathroom's shower was of the wet-room type. Rooms are not serviced every day by housekeeping. We could have done with a second chair in the room iin place of the log stool provided.
The breakfast was the usual continental type with limited choice (which may have become tedious if we were staying longer than 2 nights), but it was included in the room rate.
Overall, we were happy with this hotel's offering and enjoyed our stay there.
- Amelia (10/5): - Fantastic hotel for catching the early morning ferry. Very safe parking, very comfortable rooms and really good breakfast. Very impressed, will always stay here before we catch the ferry. Also 24 checkin!
- MICHEL (8/5): short break - ideal for a few nights
- Kugler (8/5): - There were not enough towels for two people on the room. The breakfast was excellent. In general, the experience was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Secure parking, friendly staff, cleanliness of hotel, good continental breakfast and location to ferry port.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We needed to stay close to the harbour - this hotel is only 3 minutes away, with secure parking. Great service from staff and a delicious breakfast available from 6am. Rooms very clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location,secure garage,easy access to shopping street.
- Philip (10/5): Good location, pleasant stay - Lovely clean and quiet room. Staff were helpful and friendly. Evening meal was small but tasty. Breakfast was plentiful with a great choice.
The hotel has its garage in the basement which at 9 euros / day is good value considering the piece of mind it gives. The hotel is just five minutes away from the ferry terminal so is handy as a stop off before or after sailing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent facilities, secure parking , self service breakfast every type covered. Staff were very helpful and polite .
Welcomed as soon as you arrive .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really friendly, helpful staff. Family rooms are actually two joining rooms with a private entrance which is perfect when you have small children!
Reception area is great - little play area for kids and bar aling with breakfast bar.
Only 15 minutes walk to the old town and as close as can be to ferry port.
Secured parking in their underground car park is also oerfect when you have a car full of stuff :-)
Would definitely use again when we catch the ferry next time!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very close to centre of St Malo, walking distance about ten minutes.
- Norman (6/5): Lack of ventilation, no AC, hot room. - No AC in rooms made the insufferable on very hot day. No fan available. Window could be left wide open but room faced road with heavy traffic, so hot airless night with road noise made for uncomfortable stay.
Breakfast however was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location close to ferry terminal, short walk to walled city, underground parking
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Booked for 3 nights. After 2nd night, very hot, no air-con, asked the maid to change the sheet and pillowcases. Consulted her list and at first refused. Only after I insisted did they get changed. No air-con, no tea making facilities in the room. Asked about upgrade and told there were no bigger rooms, when in fact there were. Quite walk to the City, although we didn't mind the walk. Cars everywhere, glad we left ours at the hotel, parking seemed to be near impossible.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our room was comfortable and reasonably spacious. It was dery clean with a nice bathroom and shower. Our room was quiet as it did not face the road at the front The only minus is that there is no air conditioning but we could open the window.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Nice hotel in a handy location. Great breakfast but my room was on the road side so was noisy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay - Great value for money, felt the bathroom could have been cleaner.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I booked 2 rooms and they were both together which was very thoughtful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): ferry terminal du Naye - Ibis styles is a safe choice, you know what you're going to get.. no frills but good beds, clean room.. This is a relatively new hotel close to the ferry terminal in st Malo. Parking garage underneath (separately paid). No aircon (which could be issue in midst of summer.). Breakfast is good, Wifi free.
- Craig (8/5): Average experience, convenient location - I was only staying at the Ibis Styles at St Malo Port and it did what it said on the tin. It was in a convenient location, just 2 minutes drive from the port and a 20 minute walk to the old town (where there is another Ibis Style hotel).
The reason why I picked this Ibis over the old town was due to having my own car with me and having the underground car park is a definite plus point, probably the best feature of the hotel (On the other hand the old town Ibis parking is extremely limited)
The rest of the hotel features are fairly basic, the breakfast is good and the Wifi excellent, although there was no tea or coffee making facilities in my room (I know that is a bit picky but still worth a note).
The staff were nice and relatively helpful, but it depended on who I was speaking to, I'm unsure whether it was the language barrier or one of the staff members not having a good day at work but I cannot give full marks to all staff members unfortunately as one of the staff members was fairly abrupt, looked uninterested and was unhelpful, in stark contrast to the rest of the staff members I spoke to who were absolutely fine.
Overall, if you have a car with you I would strongly recommend Ibis at the port, if not, go to the old town....and be careful not to upset (some) of the staff! :P
- Robert (10/5): - Great place to stay before our ferry home
- Verified traveler (6/5): - You get what you pay as far as the room is concerned
Staff extremely helpful but room basic.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Convenience for the port coupled with the usual high standard and value for money of an Ibis hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a shame no restaurant to eat in at the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I would like tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
- Garry (10/5): Brilliant - to perfect! - Brilliant! Given the first impression of the area this hotel is a must on further investigation. Check in a breeze, English spoken if needed, parking inside is 9€ a night, hmm but maybe worth it? We were allocated a third floor room at the back (lift works), it is not very often if at all I find nothing to 'moan' about, this room was brilliant, space, chairs, everything works - even the TV speaker in the bathroom, bit bemused by this feature but has volume control! Overall best room we've stayed in for a long time.
Walk to Intra Muros about 1.5km but easy level path.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Last minute booking due to ferry crossing port change. We were warmly welcomed by the receptionist who completed the booking very quickly. The hotel is modern with nice furnishings and fittings. The room was spotlessly clean with a welcome bottle of water and a bag of sweets. The room came complete with a balcony overlooking the port which was a pleasant surprise. Bed was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is included and is served from 0600 always a good thing for onward travellers. To conclude a very nice hotel, friendly service with very high standards of cleanliness complete with a price which is so good for such an hotel. Very pleased with this hotel.
- John (10/5): Great location - Great location... short walk to the old town. Have a secure underground car park which you need to ring the bell and they open the door for you. Room was clean modern. Staff seemed nice and breakfast well set out.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Overpriced for what it offers. Would not recommend.
- Dave (6/5): Ibis Styles St Malo - I would have ranked both the hotel and breakfast higher but for the fact that the breakfast area was sweltering and the room was too hot all night with no adjustable ventilation / temperature control other than opening the window (onto a busy road). This was in mid -September and cool-ish outside - I'd hate to think what it's like when the weather is hot.
- Sue (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable right on ferry terminal. Perfect.
- Rob (8/5): Close to ferry - Hotel is close to the ferry terminal and 20 min walk from old town
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to ferry terminal. Good. Nice room and good breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location to visit historic Saint-Malo: just 20 minutes walk to access the area and its many restaurants. There are are few places to eat around the hotel but several were closed on Monday (when we were there). Great breakfast buffet at the hotel.
- Dave (6/5): Close to Ferry - Hotel is close to ferry port with a few restaurants in walking distance, which was a good job as there is no restaurant at the hotel even though it was listed as having one. The hotel was clean, nice rooms, friendly staff and good WiFi. The breakfast was just ok. There is only one small lift making it very awkward at breakfast and checking out times.
- Richard (8/5): Nice hotel near Old Town and Ferry Port - Easy to find hotel which was very convenient for catching morning ferry to Portsmouth which is only a 5 minute drive away. 10 minute walk to lovely Old Town . Good secure parking was a bonus as parking was very limited in St. Malo on the day we stayed.
- pete (10/5): - Great hotel, modern and clean just a short walk to the walled city and port
- paul (8/5): - Very handy for the ferries - next time we will spend more time looking around St Malo.
Very helpful staff who made excellent recommendations about where to eat.
Only downside was lack of air conditioning and a shower head that wouldn't stay in place. But will definitely book for next year.
Thank you.
- Marie (10/5): - Well located for the port and old town, comfortable rooms, helpful and friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
Would recommend!
- Lisa (10/5): Vacation - Stay was great, only meant to be for 1night, but due to our ferry being cancelled we had to stay for 3
- David (8/5): Close to ferry terminal - Nice hotel except for the lack of air conditioning, - had to open door/window, then had to put up with noise from vehicle traffic - very busy road.
- Marilyn (8/5): - Good location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean. Good shower.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good hotel close to ferry and old town - staff were excellent, room comfortable only 5 minutes fron ferry would use again without hesitation
- Danila (8/5): Perfect for Port - Perfect if arriving at St MALO port. 12 minutecwalk away
- Ovidiu (10/5): Highly recommend! - New hotel. Clean and pleasant. Very good breakfast. 15 minutes away from the old city. Great value for the money.
- Dorian (8/5): Satisfied - Just a one night stop over
- sinem (8/5): - the seating area was too small, and breakfast area was too hot!!! It was uncomfortable during breakfast due to heat plus quite crowded. Parking 9 euro per night. Otherwise it was good value for money and practical for intramuros in st malo.
- Julia (10/5): ideal for ferry - We stayed here as an overnight stop before going home on the ferry, also to visit the town of St Malo. Absolutely ideal for both! And, a real plus, it had secure parking underground [cost €9 per night, but worth it]. Comfortable beds, good breakfast and basic but satisfactory food available [croque monsieur] when we arrived at 9pm.
- roger (10/5): - Excellent hotel close to ferry terminal, secure parking available on request. Within walking distance of town centre
- dan (4/5): Load, hot, sparse, dirty. - On busy road and no AC. If you get a room on the front of the hotel, you can have your window open and not sleep due to the noise, or close the window and have no air. Urine smell in bathroom was nasty.
