Guest Reviews
- Barkha (8/5): - Breakfast could be better
- Jordan (10/5): - Beautiful room and property. Clean. Staff were lovely. Fantastic breakfast! Could splurge a bit more on softer toilet paper considering the price per night. Room was very hot even with the air conditioner on. If you need to be up early, check if there is a wedding the night before, we were kept up awake until 11pm when we needed to be up at 3am.
- Leanne (9/5): -
- Penelope (9/5): - Fabulous breakfast, great room in a very quiet location. 0
- Denise (9/5): A special place to stay in the autumn. - A good breakfast in a lovely space. The colour in the gardens. The beautiful little lake. Staff friendly and helpful. Great to have the fire. The fridge was not cold. The walk bracket lights were not not working so difficult to achieve soft lighting in the living area.
- SHU-HUEI (10/5): -
- virginia (8/5): enjoyable - breakfast was great and super child friendly smoking outside window
- Shin (7/5): -
- Gavin (8/5): - Room was lovely and comfortable. Heating was excellent. Noise from kids above us late at night
- Isobel (10/5): - The grounds were beautiful, the cottage was lovely and spacious, the breakfast was very good, and the staff were very helpful
- Therese (9/5): -
- Gregory (4/5): Parklands sounded impressive but it was very disappointing, especially for the price. - The location was good for walks. The grounds and gardens were nice. The garden suite was large and reasonably well appointed but the addition of a microwave would have been helpful, especially since there was no dinner service. The staff were pleasant and tried to please & made sure they had gluten free bread & crackers available on our day 3 but that didn't help our day 2 breakfast. GF alternatives are plentiful these days and there is no excuse for not having adequate Gluten Free supplies (including cakes or muffins which along with GF bread can be frozen for storage). Dragging our bags over stones - having to wait until 3.15pm before our room was ready - TV remote button faulty & hard to press & no instructions for accessing TV channels - bed hard & uncomfortable - buffet breakfast disappointing even for someone without dietary restrictions and 'hot' food was always cold. We were both gluten intolerant (a health issue & not a choice). We paid the same price for breakfast as everyone else but there were no GF crackers (to go with the meagre amount of cheese available), no GF pastries, cakes or muffins - no GF bread on day 2. This was not acceptable and spoiled our stay.
- Annelley (10/5): Very beautiful place, I wish we could have stayed longer. We would definitely love to return. - My now husband and I stayed here for one night after our wedding and it was perfect for us. The room was beautiful and the staff were so lovely. The grounds were stunning, such beautiful views.
We both got massages which were also very relaxing. We would definitely love to return. I would have preferred more warm breakfast options, but the little buffet was nice.

- Geoff (8/5): - The rooms were absolutely beautiful with a private garden. Breakfast was very good and the staff were great. Facilities in the room were very good. The loft room above us had a creaky floor which had us awake early most morning's when those guests were moving about. There was not a smart TV in our room so we ended up watching things on our telephone after our day's activities (local TV was limited).
- Dean (9/5): - The bedroom is a chalet type room with a big bedroom and wide verandah. The bathroom was adequate good size, and there is a small kitchen/utility area to prepare drinks.
Breakfast was good and the staff very friendly and helpful. The wardrobe area is badly designed with inadequate space for clothes longer than a nights stay.
We visited early in the week and found the availability of eating places in the town very limited.
- Peter (10/5): -
- Nathan (10/5): - Beautiful grounds, inviting rooms and an excellent breakfast! N/a
- Yuri (4/5): - Staff and location For that amount of money I expect the carpet to be power cleaned and not smelling like dog house
- feng (7/5): -
- Marea (9/5): Romantic getaway - Privacy, decor, beautiful setting Took 2 calls to replace empty body wash. No towel hook in back of bathroom door
- Shannon (9/5): -
- Royce (10/5): Like a very high end English country hotel and garden, with the convenience of a motel! - Beautifully landscaped and well maintained garden. Stylish large and well-designed, and very comfortable suites. Good parking. Excellent breakfast with extensive choices. Easy walk to town for a good pub and meals. Minor annoyance was a running toilet, but this was quickly fixed.
- Julie (9/5): - Beautiful setting & walking distance to the town
- karen (8/5): Great place to stay. - Lovely setting , spacious accommodation, very clean, great staff, nothing was to much trouble. Furniture and decor very tiered
- IAN (8/5): A very comfortable stay, thank you - Great location, rooms were really spacious and it was lovely and quiet It would be nice to have a couple of mugs supplied in the room
- Tania (10/5): A perfect weekend stay at a perfect location - The seclusion, views, service, staff and meals were all exceptional. Absolutely nothing, it was perfect!
- Matt (10/5): - Great place to stay. Gardens were great. Fantastic breakfast.
- KIM (7/5): Overpriced, poor facilities, cheeky staff - not worthy of 5 star rating! - The setting was lovely and tranquil, the room was spacious, and breakfast was good. Thought the man on reception was rather cheeky. Upon arrival, he said you're too early (not in a nice tone), but our room was ready, so I didn't feel the need for him to make this remark. Furthermore, I had originally booked to stay at Lilianfels (sister property) but changed to Parklands because Lilianfels was undergoing some refurbishment, which coincided with our stay. Lilianfels couldn't guarantee some of the facilities would be open. When I asked about using Lilianfels for a swim, he told me that this wasn't possible. However, I asked that he call Lilianfels to check and lo and behold, I was able to use their facilities because Lilianfels is affiliated with Parklands and is advertised as such. So, I feel he just tried to fob me off, or else needs further training. Also, my booking was made via Booking.com, and the price was confirmed as $798 AUD, but Parklands charged me $809.97 AUD. When I queried the difference, he told me that it was down to the conversion rate, and I would have to contact Booking.com regarding this matter. However, it had nothing to do with Booking.com, as it was the property that charged me. It transpires that Parklands added 1.5% charge because I paid by debit card. They don't offer dinner, and the bar closes at 7 pm. Nobody is available at reception after 8 pm. There are a lot of shortcomings at Parklands, and it does not merit a 5-star rating. I also feel it is understaffed. There are probably a lot better properties to stay in at Blackheath. This was certainly not worth the money!
- Grace (8/5): Lovely and quiet - Beautiful spot Needs casting ability for the tv’s

- Aaron (9/5): - This was my 2nd stay at the loft & was lovely once again. Will be returning in the near future!
- Mark (10/5): Whether for business or romance, or just a play to stay passing through. Parklands was memorable. - The grounds are excellent to walk around, with water features, paths, and wildlife. Breakfast was lovely and the staff very friendly. And the rooms are superb, with the bed very comfortable. What I really liked is how quiet and peaceful Parklands is, far away from the highway.
- Patra (10/5): Lovely hotel would recommend - Fantastic property with lovely rooms and beautiful gardens. Perfect base for exploring the area. Very clean and staff attentive. A pool would have been a nice addition. The hotel restaurant was closed the days we stayed.
- ChappyLizard (10/5): -
- Alan (9/5): -
- Veronica (8/5): Amazing property, perfect for a peaceful getaway - The grounds and gardens are stunning. Loved the layout of the cottages
The cottage I had was quiet, spacious and peaceful and I loved having the private lawn area off the lounge . Whilst the property was very busy during my stay, the staff were very friendly and accommodating Needs some maintenance, looking a bit tired in places. Also the wall heater in my cottage seemed unable to be turned off !! lucky the air conditioning worked well to combat this. French door bolts wouldn't align so not able to be locked .
Breakfast was a bit average
- chris (9/5): A comfortable location and hotel for an overnight stopover. - Our room provided all we needed( except tea bags). Very spacious and clean with the added attraction of a gas fire. Location was very quiet and in beautiful well kept grounds. We only had 2 tea bags on arrival in our room and when we requested some more were told they had non, even though they were available at breakfast. Breakfast was adequate but we've had better.
- David (7/5): Great staff but property is showing it’s age. - Location, size of rooms, great breakfast. Old TV with no internet connection.
Poor kitchen facilities.
- Zahedi (10/5): -
- Wylie (9/5): -
- Peter (9/5): -
- Yvonne (8/5): -
- Lelliott (4/5): The paths are unable to walk on the room was very musty and it really wasn’t that clean - Did. Not have breakfast
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Elisabeth (9/5): Wonderful,spacious quiet peaceful accommodation -
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Deborah (6/5): Good location and comfortable stay. - The location is excellent. The room was nice and spacious. The bed was really comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The gardens are beautiful. The breakfast was poor. The cooked items in the bain maries were really cold. Cold poached eggs are not nice. For the $ this property is not good value for money.
- Sandra (9/5): Excellent apart from the above - Peace, space and beautiful surroundings. No option of dinner, snacks or bar available, especially on a cold, dark rainy and misty night.
- Trish (9/5): Fabulous and so happy with the size of the accommodation. - Proximity to where I was staying Breakfast was a little late in starting for me
- Ellie (6/5): Beds need Improving!! - The staff were very friendly & helpful and the Loft room was spacious & clean. We booked a Garden Suite room but ended up changing to a Loft room after the first night due to having a squeaky floor above us in the Garden Suite (ground floor) that kept waking us up & interrupting our peace & quiet. The Loft room was more preferable in my opinion being more spacious and having no one above you. I didn't like the fact that even though there were only a few couples staying at Parklands, we were all bundled into the one block of rooms. People don't chose a mountain escape because they want people around them, they want privacy, quiet & seclusion.
The beds were terrible in both rooms - really need to upgrade these as ultimately the lack of quality sleep ended up leaving us both tired & moody and generally no one enjoys a holiday like that! The Garden Suite room was also tired and bathroom was requiring some maintenance. Disappointing considering I treated ourselves to the dearer Garden Suite but ended up going to the Loft anyway!
The breakfast was nice but would have been good to have a few more coffee options. Couldn't even get a basic caramel latte.
- McPherson (9/5): Lovely getaway. - The gardens and lobby area were beautiful. The staff was also very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are a little tired and need an update .
- Katie (9/5): - Blackheath is a beautiful little town and the property is set between the town restaurants and spectacular Govetts’ Leap. Staff were very professional and breakfast was excellent. Nothing
- Othmar (8/5): -
- Garry (10/5): - A very nice place to stay in the Blue Mountains, very picturesque and fantastic room, breakfast was great and the grounds were beautiful.
- J M (10/5): - Lovely grounds, canopy cottage very comfortable if not very environmentally friendly with a tent roof
- Don (8/5): Great breakfast, helpful staff and beautiful gardens in a perfect Blue Mountains location. - Parklands Country Gardens & Lodges has a lot going for it. The breakfast is excellent – fresh, generous and a great way to start the day. The staff are genuinely helpful and friendly, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. The gardens are beautiful, with plenty of space to wander and enjoy the scenery, and the location in the Blue Mountains couldn’t be better for exploring the area. While the property has a lot of charm, it’s starting to show its age. Some areas could do with a tidy-up, and the rooms, although comfortable, are beginning to look a little tired. The bones are there for something amazing – the rooms just need a refresh to match the setting and the service.
- Oliver (8/5): - Spacious rooms, nice outlook Room wasn’t that clean, only one person working in the main area
- Yvette (9/5): Beautifully relaxing and delightfully pleasant. - The secluded nature of the cabins. The beautiful grounds and the breakfast. The spa was great too. The kitchenette in the cabins needed some more amenities such as washing up liquid, paper towels and more crockery and cutlery. The hotel needs bigger mugs for tea and coffee generally. And the beautiful outside bath was very dusty, so something to wipe that with before using it - we had to use a hand towel.
- Maggie (7/5): It's a nice place but could do with some maintenance & perhaps some new sofas & chairs in the room we stayed - The gardens outside our room.
The breakfasts were good. There was a problem with their plumbing on the second day of our stay which meant we had to be out of our room from 9.30am -4.30pm to allow them to fix it. It meant that we felt rushed at breakfast.
- Keith (10/5): -
- Koung (10/5): Would love to come back soon - Very clean and beautiful. Location was good , not far from restaurants etc
- Kerriann (10/5): Elegant and comfortable stay - Lovely place to stay at Blackheath set in established gardens. Enjoyed the large room and fireplace. Very comfortable bed,
Excellent breakfast in the conservatory!
- Lucy (9/5): - Beautiful and new and clean with a relaxed country feel
- sarah (8/5): -
- KB (9/5): Enjoyed - Loft room was lovely, spacious and comfortable, with a big bathroom and gas fire. Breakfast was included with the room and very good, including a cooked to order hot option. We thought it was good value overall and would stay again. Only a small thing, but a section of the shower wall tiles could use some anti mould and scrubbing. But bathroom was great.
- Kaveenesh (10/5): -
- Jennifer (8/5): Comfortable, pleasant stay. - Lovely gardens, breakfast room, delicious breakfast. Our suite was clean and comfortable and we love the fireplace. A couple of things were missing- no lamps in the sitting area of our room so it either very bright lights or very dim wall lights. One wall light had no glove in it. There was no separate hand soap for the bathroom washbasin. I think a small gym would be welcome.
- Kevin (10/5): Cozy fire - Appreciated the staff putting the heater on in our room before we arrived on cold wet day More tea, coffee and sugar please.
- Eleni (9/5): -
- Eve (5/5): -
