Guest Reviews
Struttura consigliatissima!
- Joel (10/5): - Beautiful hotel in a great location with an excellent view! Very kind and helpful staff.
- Alejandro (10/5): - Estuvo super comodo todo
- Vanessa (10/5): - Views were EVERYTHING! Had an amazing and relaxing time. The staff as wonderful and very helpful. Definetely recommend!
- Vanessa (10/5): - Beautiful property and
- Maria (10/5): Santorini views - Wow! Views of caldera for days!! Lots of steps, but there are other properties that are worse!! Selene and George were awesome. Highly recommend for solo traveller.
- Erinna (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Gorgona villas - from the welcoming and helpful reception, the breathtaking views, and delicious breakfast, we highly recommend a stay here! Added bonus was also being close to amenities, but away from the crowds. Five stars all around!
- Patrocenia (10/5): Fabulous view - Awesome view and service. Selena and Nikos were very helpful and tried to make us as comfortable as possible. Breakfast was delicious and the guy who delivered it was very diligent and prompt. My only complaint was the a/c couldn’t keep our room cool, possibly due to the size. Highly recommended for view and service. Lots of steps so be prepared
- Danielle (8/5): - This property is nestled between several very high end properties and has the same wonderful view. There is a small pool and plenty of quiet deck space to sun.
With that said, the front desk reception girl was probably the worst I’ve seen. Her English isn’t so good and she arranged for a manual versus automatic vehicle, despite me explaining I needed an automatic. In high season, it would have been impossible to fix. It’s also quite obvious they get kickbacks from anything they book for you, stating there are discounts through them or falsely stating excursions are booked up, but then when I went to the actual excursion office, there was plenty of availability and much better pricing.
To be noted… the hotel qualifies children 0-12 years where Expedia says up to 17. This became an expensive issue when I arrived. I was glad to pay the additional fees, but it was expensive and embarrassing and the front desk handled it so awfully.
Additionally, the room is quite cute but in need of updating. We could never get the tv to turn on. The bathroom paint was peeling and dated. We were not looking for fancy only the view.
I will say the breakfast delivered at the time you designate was quite excellent, though.
- Babette (10/5): - This place was amazing and the views blew us away! We felt we got the same incredible service and amenities as the neighboring high end places for a more reasonable cost. Service was phenomenal, Laura was amazing, so kind and so good at her job! Valeris was very helpful on guiding us and taking care of our luggage. We are very grateful to everyone for our stay and accommodating us with our unique schedule. The room was wonderful and very spacious. Morning breakfast delivered to our room was included and very delicious! It was also a 3min walk to the nearby bus stop which was very convenient. There’s lots of local shops, pharmacy and such for anything you may need. Fira was only a 15min walk away with a beautiful view as you walk down. If you’re travelling to Santorini you have to stay here!
- Kapila (10/5): - Excellent customer service.
- Robert (10/5): Awesome - Super staff. Beautiful location - the pictures don’t do justice to it. Ultra romantic
- Gloria (10/5): - La posizione più bella di tutta Santorini, camera con terrazzino sulla caldera. Una meraviglia
- Elisabetta (10/5): - Great view
- Jose (8/5): - The view is mesmerazing
- Cori (10/5): - Faye and her staff were absolutely wonderful. The service was great, the food was great, their attitudes even while working in that heat was amazing. We felt like family and they went above and beyond. The villas were beautiful and they went above and beyond in helping us retrieve delayed luggage from the airport.
I will definitely be back to Gorgona the next time we come to Santorini!
- Carolyn (10/5): - Faye and staff were amazing. Faye was very helpful when it came to the area, shopping and transportation. She was a "good mother" while we were there:) The views were breath taking. We would stay here again.
- Yanzhang (10/5): - Very nice service and care of customers. Will recommend it to the other!
- joseph (8/5): - The view of the caldera is amazing and the staff are all superior for their service. Being able to have breakfast brought to your personal table with a view of the caldera was a highlight of our trip. Don't try to find the hotel yourselves. Call the front desk and have the bell hops guide you to the office and carry your bags. The only negatives were the air conditioner had some trouble cooling the room to our liking and the shower sprayer often fell off the wall. Overall it was an excellent experience and I do recommend this hotel.
- khanittha (8/5): - The location of my hotel room was very nice and I enjoy it for 2 nights. I was upgraded to another hotel with newer suites room the rest of my stay. It wasn't worth the upgrade. It was out below where I initially stayed. When I wanted my old room back within 2 hours I was told my room was no longer available. To my frustration and disappointment I told the lady to call the hotel manager at Gorgonas villa to get me another room from a nearby hotel since this upgrade room out of no where it not what I paid for. I paid for a beautiful view for 4 nights and less winds. Now I got more winds in front of my door to sit outside and enjoy whatever view I can see at the new location. My entire 3rd day was ruin from this ridiculous upgrade. Be warned about any upgrade the manager approach to you. Ask to actually see the upgrade location and room before you say yes. I will never make this mistake ever again. I felt trick into this worst deal of upgrade. I gave up my beautiful view in front of my room to new building in the middle of no where way down below. I got to see dry deserts of dirt, rocks and dry up grapes bushes and a donkey when I walk around my upgrade room. Thanks for the frustration day Spryros aka manager at Gorgonas villa. I put up with the bad smell and puddle of water waiting for me every morning. The workers are friendly and helpful. Lesson learned from this trip.
- Barbara (10/5): Gorgona Villas Rocks!! - This place is amazing! It exceeded all expectations. It was private and glamorous and the views just don’t get better! They bring you breakfast on your terrace that you eat overlooking the ocean. Laura and Spiros are the Greek God and Goddess of tourism. They provide World Class customer service and go above and beyond on each request. They don’t give you directions, they take you where you need to go.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful views from these villas. Truly stunning and our breakfast was served on the balcony each morning. The room and bathroom were basic, not very big but kept very clean. Also there’s only one shared jacuzzi pool outside another villa, so if people were in there then we couldn’t use it and they are the only rooms that have sunbeds, ours only had chairs. There’s also a lot of stairs to climb down or up to get to and from the room, so I wouldn’t recommend for anyone with mobility issues. People working there were also lovely
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location eccezionale per il panorama. Personale cordiale e disponibile .
- Kathleen (10/5): - Wonderful host, beautiful place, terrific breakfast! Great place for a couples get-away! It’s quiet and peaceful yet close enough to walk to busy, exciting Fira.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The best part about this place was the lady at the reception. She was super friendly and helpful.
- Roberto (10/5): - Excellent service combined with excellent location. The room could have been updated a bit more but overall my family was very satisfied with our stay and would gladly return.
- PennyChen (10/5): - Amazing view from our patio, exactly like what the picture shows! Breakfast is nice too! Staff is very friendly. Will recommend to my friends
- Yik Gio (10/5): Stay here! - Wonderful stay and we were upgraded to Avaton Resort. The receptions couldn't be more helpful, thank you both Konstantinos and Victoria. We enjoyed our stay a lot.
The breakfast room service is good but the table is a bit too small / low.
- John (10/5): Just Perfect - Amazing place with awesome service. Upgraded us if we moved after the first night. Breakfast is amazing and the views are spectacular. The porters who assist with your luggage are like mountain goats.
- Melissa L. (10/5): Exactly as described. Loved it! - Room was a lot bigger than expected and the view was incredible. Vanessa was a gem and helped us get around and recommended so many good spots. She even arranged a taxi to pick us up at 5:00am to catch our flight. Breakfast is brought to your room at the time of your choice. Would highly recommend!!
- Hailey (10/5): - The absolute best place to stay, such a nice and accommodating staff!
- Ashley (10/5): Amazing room, view, and service. - We loved our stay at Gorgona Villas! We needed a room for 1 couple and 1 adult child, so it's a little difficult to find a room for 3 on the caldera, but we had a beautiful room that could have slept 6! We could fill out our breakfast request the day before and then they would bring the breakfast to the room's front patio or upstairs terrace. Great service- super friendly lady at the reception. We rented a car and had a little trouble finding the place (don't try to use maps for a room on the caldera lol), but I would just call the hotel and have them give you a landmark to enter and you'll be fine. We stayed in early June and it was the perfect time before it gets too busy. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great villa in a great location ... very difficult to find if the front desk doesn't have someone waiting for you at the taxi drop off (this happened when we arrived). Breakfast to your door every morning is an excellent add-on.
- John (10/5): - The Staff, Harris and Vanessa were very helpful and provide excellent info on trips, directions, restaurants and maps. 25 min walk to Fira to catch local buses to beach and other sites. Great views from my unit G2. Internet was a bit slow in my room but was able to use the 4G hotspot on my phone. The porters carried our bags up and down the steps to our room. A delightful stay that my wife and I really enjoyed. Jimmy's supermarket right next to resort to grab your water and snacks.
- Jolyn (10/5): Awesome! - Everything was good about this place. The room, the view, the location, the staff, the breakfast. Got abit lost when we got there as there were no signs of the hotel as it was at the caldera, but one of the staff came out to find us and helped us with our luggages. All of them were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there.
- Sam (10/5): Beautiful view with wonderful helpful staff - Absolutely breathtaking views. The staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend getting the breakfast included it was great. Room was awesome but the bed was a bit tough and hard but still sleepable. We didn't spend too much time at the hotel we were out exploring but other than that this place was perfect! Very big and roomy living room bedroom and bathroom.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful views, great location, friendly staff!! - Hotel is situated in a great location along the cliffs with amazing views of the sea, volcano, and coastline in both directions. Our double room was cozy, but the private balcony was the best part. They served us a custom ordered breakfast to our balcony. We enjoyed the views and great food by just walking out the front door each morning.
- Liz (8/5): Stunning "Cave" Experience - Such a wonderful location! Breathtaking views, authentic cave experience. Wonderful staff. Great breakfasts.
- Kelly (8/5): Great value for a caldera view hotel - Brekky delivered to private balcony daily. Very friendly and helpful staff. Stunning and central location. Easy to find and get around. Value for money. Close to supermarkets, pharmacy, rentals etc.
- Joel (10/5): Honeymoon Especial - Had an excellent stay for our honeymoon! The staff were very flexible and adaptable in getting us the room that we wanted. Breakfast is excellent and with spectacular scenery overlooking the caldera. The room was always clean and made up when we left for the afternoon. Imerovigli is a quiet neighbourhood (unlike Fira and Oia) but still with the quintessential Santorini white/blue and view. Apartments are tightly cramped on the caldera side so expect some close neighbours.
- Hang Ni (4/5): Will not be returning - Our booking was for a superior room. We were upgraded to one of the suites the first night. The room smelled moldy, which I initially thought was because of the humidity. The Jacuzzi in the living area got a tubful of water we couldn’t drain, with a handful of small dead flies floating on top. Bathrooms got no flat surface except for the toilet lid to put our shampoos etc. I gave it benefit of the doubt thinking maybe that the way it is there. On both of the beds there were no blankets. It was late so we had to walk up to the reception in the cold and carried the blankets back ourselves.
Our booking came with complimentary breakfast served in our room. With this upgrade, breakfast was not served and we had to go to one of their cafes instead. It was fine if we didn’t have to spend 10 mins to lock the front door. When we head out, again we spent another 10 mins trying to lock the front door but no luck. We had to leave the front door wide open, drop off our key at the reception for them to bring our luggages.
The superior room we had the next day was a lot nicer, with things you expect in a hotel room to be there. Even the staff said the room was newly redecorated so I wonder how was the first night an upgrade?
It’s disappointing they called the first night an upgrade. We would’ve said ok if they told us upfront they overbooked and need to move us to a spare room with a discount for that night. I am sure we won’t be returning with all the options available.
