- Sarah (10/5): Pleasant stay, great views of the Matterhorn with old-school hospitality. - A very pleasant stay, thanks largely to the exceptional owner, Richard. who was warm, attentive, and truly welcoming both to his town of Zermatt and his hotel. The property has a traditional, old-school feel, but it is spotlessly clean and well maintained, which speaks volumes. Stellar views of the Matterhorn from the rooms, comfortable, cared for, and full of character. The hotel is a little ways up the hill so if you’d prefer not to walk or ride a bus to the chair lifts (especially with kids and skis) this hotel might not be the best option. It is located near a youth hostel that uses the same bus stop so sometimes the bus is very crowded with bigger groups.

The owner, Richard, is very helpful in planning any trips and hikes and some apartments offer the most stunning view of the crown jewel: the Matterhorn.

He even picked us up from the train station and drove us to the hotel so we didn’t have to carry our luggage. Also the view from our room was absolutely unreal! One of the dryers didn’t work properly so we had to keep going down stairs every 10minutes to keep it going. When the second dryer was free we used that one and it was fine!

Einmal pro Woche kann ein Raclette - und / oder Käsefondueabend mit Hüttenatmosphäre günstig im Hotel gebucht werden. Wir hatten freien Blick auf das Matterhorn aus dem Apartmentfenster und vom Balkon aus. Falls wir nochmals nach Zermatt kommen, nur dieses Hotel! Nichts!

Richard ist ein toller Gastgeber. Er holt einen auf Wunsch am Bahnhof ab, dann es führt eine steile Straße dann zur Unterkunft. Das ist mit Gepäck nicht angenehm. Es gibt auch Raclette Abende bei ihm. Brötchen Service ebenfalls und wenn man eine Frage hat, ist er da. Echt super. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

- Elisabeth (10/5): Sehr schöner Aufenthalt - Die Wohnung ist gut ausgestattet mit allem was wir brauchten. Vor der Wohnung hat es eine grosse Terasse mit toller Aussicht und Blick aufs Matterhorn. Richard Kunkel ist ein sehr guter Gastgeber, immer gut gelaunt, freundlich, aufmerksam, hilfsbereit. Er bietet Brötchenservice an, holt die Gäste vom Bahnhof ab und fährt sie wieder hin. Super für Teenies: es hat Pingpong, Billard und Töggelikasten, das war sehr beliebt bei uns. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen und wir kommen gerne wieder!

The location is very good, there's a red line bus nearby that takes you directly to the lift to Matterhorn and other main ski slopes. Richard, the host, is a very pleasant person, always ready to help even beyond his duties, thanks to him for that. The complex has free games like table tennis and foosball; we regret that due to fatigue and other plans we didn't use them during our stay, only managed a bit at the end, it was very engaging. There is also American billiards for francs, which you can exchange at the reception if interested. The aparthotel has all the facilities for storing skis and other equipment, but we didn't actually use them since we rented everything near the mountain lifts. However, the technical provisions for these purposes at the hotel are excellent. We didn't use the breakfast service because we made our own, but overall it was available and looked appealing. The apartments have everything you need; the kitchen is small but fully equipped, probably has everything except a microwave, but you can easily use the oven to heat up food. The heating is adjustable, and I really liked the shutters on every window; you can block out the sun if needed at any time. The windows and balcony offer a beautiful view of the Matterhorn and the surrounding area, very picturesque. Some minor challenges - the aparthotel is located on an elevation and if you walk from the city center, be prepared for about 10-15 minutes of cardio, which we actually found beneficial. ;-) Next year, if we go to Zermatt, we definitely know where we will stay.

Our host, Richard, went above and beyond, kindly fetching us to and from the accommodation despite icy winter road conditions. A great place to stay and would certainly book it again. It is just a short stroll down to the Spar for supplies. It didn't bother us but it is fairly steep back up if you are less able for inclines.

First of all, our host, Richard, was there to greet us with a warm welcome when we came in on our first day in town. He was very responsive, friendly and helpful the whole time we were there. On the day before our departure, he helped us organize necessary preparations including taxi which we really appreciated. Room was very clean, nicely decorated and spacious with a balcony which had an incredible view of the Matterhorn! There is also a kitchen equipped with necessities which we used to cook our yummy leftovers from dining out. Easy public transportation (free bus) into town but you can just easily walk there as well. There's a dining room where we had a nice breakfast. There's also a game room for fun and relaxation and having the laundry room was very convenient. We loved staying here and felt like it was our home away from home after a day of skiing, shopping and dining. We will definitely stay here again when we visit next! Highly recommend!!! - Andrea (10/5): Great stay, very close to the ski lift! - The location is great, only 7-10min walking to the ski lift (you can leave your ski equipment in the lockers from the rental company right at the lift, so you dont need to walk with them) very close by to the village center to multiple restaurant, bars, etc. Also, the apartments have all the necessary for a great stay and the host is super friendly and helpful! Very much recommended!!

I paid for the postage of course but he went out of his way to go to the post office and spend time shipping it off.

The apartment was clean and spacious, with a well equipped kitchen, and a Nespresso coffee maker. The bathtub was very much appreciated after long hikes! Breakfast was very tasty. Richard is a wonderful person - kind, helpful, and made me feel extremely welcome. He picked me up and dropped me off at the train station, which would have been difficult to walk with luggage as the hotel is up a hill. The washing machine and dryer were a bonus. It’s close to everything, but away from the noise of the main part of town. The hikes I did around Zermatt were the greatest I’ve ever experienced. What an incredible place! I didn’t want to leave. - 115annemariev (10/5): Quirky appartment, beautifully decorated, very relaxed sun terrace - Nice appartment, it has everything you need, and there's a large shared sun terrace with a great view over the mountains, you can even see the Matterhorn. The appartment is a bit small, but what can you expect, in Zermatt everything is super expensive. The fridge makes a bit of noise, but when you close the door to the kitchen you don't hear it. We're digital nomads and had to done some work while we were in Zermatt, this appartment is fine for that, it had two tables. I absolutely loved the fact that each appartment is decorated with paintings by a famous artist. We were allocated the Dali appartment, my boyfriend found the painting on one wall a bit eerie but I loved how beautiful it was. It weren't Dali's most famous paintings, but very pretty ones. The appartment is located a little bit higher up in the village, so you have to walk up a bit, but this is only 50 meters or so, probably not suitable for people in wheelchairs etc but for us it wasn't a problem. The host was very nice, a bit quirky and he made us laugh! He was often picking up guests from the train station and he offered to bring us back to the train station when we left. Good service!

The kitchen had everything needed, and the pans were better repair than you expect in a hotel. There was a little grocery store about a block away. The apartment is up quite a steep hill which was a lot at the end of the day, but hey we're here to climb mountains right?

Taxi reach at the door step of the Appartment. Bus stop is just 3 minutes walking and drops you at the different ski facilities. ski room with boot heater available and really practical. The location on the hill allows a good view from the balcony but compromises though, some practicality. It’s just 10 min walking down to the center but the way up is uphill… Taxis reach at the doorstep of the hotel though.

We loved every detail from the accommodation, to the common areas, to the wonderful raclette/fondue evening on Tuesday nights. We also had an incredible view of the beautiful Matterhorn! These apartments are walkable to everything including shopping, restaurants, and ski lifts. When we go back to Zermatt, we'll absolutely be staying here again!

The host, Richard was terrific right from the greeting on our arrival to our departure. The introduction evening of raclette was amazing. Meeting all at this traditional swiss meal was very relaxing and very enjoyable. Only drawback for my wife and myself was the walk uphill to return to our room. Other then that fantastic time.

In the beginning we struggled to cary our ski back and forth to the ski lift and up to the apartment. But after the first day we started using the deposit boxes in the ski depo lockers in Furi (2 CHF per day) and it was a game change.

This is partly due to the super location, with excellent Matterhorn view, but principally due to the extraordinary hard work and attention to the details of guest's wishes, given by Richard, the locally owner. He is friendly but not intrusive, and is eager to help when wanted. The breakfast offered is excellent, of very high quality and with reasonable choice, although, strangly, few guests seem to take it - they maybe don't know what they are missing! Advance notice was given of building woks, so common in mountain resorts; this may cause obstruction to the view of some rooms in future. The true quiet and peaceful nature of the location was obvious when the work stopped. I would not hesitate to return, if he will have me...

He gave us suggestions on hikes. We got the 3 day tram in 5 days. It worked out to be a great idea as it rained two days out of the five that we were there. I don't like to hike in the rain. The room had a kitchenette and a ensuite bathroom. The kitchen made Switzerland more affordable. We only went out for one meal a day. We had access to a washer and dryer in the building. He picked us up from the train station and took us back when the holiday was over. Fresh bread delivered to your door every morning. Nothing is too much trouble. The Apartment was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Especially the new seats in the window where you get a fantastic view of the Matterhorn. There is everything there that you need for a self catering holiday. We had a wonderful balcony which also had a spectacular view of the Matterhorn. Not too far out of the village less than 10 minutes. I can highly recommend staying here and I look forward to going back in the future. Thank you Richard.
