Mannarino (10/5): A perfect adult stay. - The kitchen bathroom bedroom and living space were all very comfortable, clean and new. We had a short walk to a private beach and it was easy peasy with our beach stroller. LOVED and will be back.
Christine (9/5): Nice getaway - The rooms and pool were clean. There were chairs and umbrellas outside, The owner, Denise, was very nice and accommodating. No-see-ums everywhere on the island. They ate bug spray for breakfast. Not in the rooms, and there was nothing the hotel could do about it.
Holly (10/5): Relaxing property close to the beach! - The Sunshine Island Inn was wonderful in all ways possible. Quiet, welcoming, great access to the beach and a pool. The room was so clean and well stocked. I would stay at Sunshine Island inn over any other place in Sanibel. Loved my time there. Nothing! Great location. Oh…they even have bug spray for the pesky no-see-ums.

Duane (6/5): Nice accommodations but needs staffing to back it up. - Room good sized, comfortable bed, nice kitchenette, indoor and outdoor seating, quiet neighbourhood, shelling sink and supplies, laundry, beach chairs. Never saw staff after check in although we went to office multiple times, left a note, left voicemail. Never got clean towels, TV had WiFi issues, heat pump was either hot or cold, some outlets did not work.

A-non (10/5): Absolutely fabulous. HIGHLY recommend you visit - Area was very pretty. 15 minute walk to the Marina and Grandma Dots. Safe area, lots of nature to admire. Inn was stocked with all you could wish for-bbq area, Mozzie spray, beach chairs with your room name on them, ample parking & 2 minute walk to beach. Lovely pool, lounging chairs, beach towels.

Julie (8/5): Small, sweet and clean. - Very clean and appointed from the room to the pool to the grounds. The beds were comfortable and instructions were clear. Loved the blinds over the sliding door to the pool! There were nice beach chairs and umbrellas provided, although they were all ass in the sand variety. If you want or need to sit higher, being your own. The pool area is lovely, floats provided and there are nice grills. The "path to the beach" was across the street, not well established, too narrow and undeveloped (grass, unlevel, grown over), and a hike to the water. The bathroom was very small. These items mattered as we brought a friend whose health has declined and she has begun using a cane and scooter. I should have called and asked about our specific situation.

We thought we would have a beach view which we didn't. Then the path to the beach was overgrown and parts were covered with mud/muck.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The “beach path” was barely a pathway and difficult to use. It was too narrow, muddy and swarming with insects from the crowding vegetation.
Bridge (10/5): Cozy and remodeled. - Cute and sweet room with plenty of room and a full kitchen. Private beach access was nice and right across the street. This place has been completely remodeled after the hurricanes and it is all brand new. Comfortable bed, large walk in shower, big bathroom and parking right out the door from the unit. We loved our stay and we will be back soon.

Tammy (10/5): - The Sunshine Island Inn was wonderful. They is nothing the owners overlooked when designing the room and property. We stayed in the Lighthouse room. It is a king size bed which was wonderful. The small kitchen was fully stock with anything you would need. The unit was so clean when we arrived. They is a wonderful pool which all rooms face with a sliding glass door. The also have chaise loungers, grilling area and even have pool floats at the ready. There is also a sitting area with table and chairs just outside you entry door covered buy an adjustable umbrella. The beautiful beach is just across the street and there is even a private path for the guest. I highly recommend the Sunshine Island Inn it was a great experience!
Brenda (10/5): Sunshine Perfection - I've never booked online before but it was SO EASY. The pictures didn't do the room justice. When we walked in it smelled fresh and just as spotless. Directions to the Inn, for checking in, and to the beach were spot on. The beach was just a short walk. They have everything you may need to make your stay easy and comfortable. Beach chairs, umbrellas, a laundry room, and an awesome shell cleaning station. We will be back and wish we could have stayed longer. Tammy (10/5): We were celebrating my 50th birthday.the owner was there upon our arrival and gave me a nice bottle of mango champagne - Property was quiet and clean. We truly enjoyed our time relaxing by the pool and spending a few hours on the beach every day. We seen 3 iguana’s and a manatee even swam by in the back. That was a nice treat. By no fault of the property, there is there little tiny biting bugs called no-see-ems. Apparently it’s an issue in all of sanabel.

Laura (10/5): Cute,Clean and comfortable. - It is spacious, clean and right across from the beach path. Construction traffic at 555am was not great. I understand it, but it might be nice if it didn’t start a little later.
Schell (10/5): - Darling property. Thoughtfully restored after the hurricane. Very clean, well equipped and very comfortable bed. If I had one fix it would be the blue outdoor lights around the pool. Though they are terrific from a decorative point, they are problematic from a sleep perspective and the shades aren’t quite able to block all of the light.
Staples (8/5): Would definitely stay again! - It was clean, very nice, great location, great staff. They have beach chairs and umbrellas, they also have gas grills. There is a microwave, stovetop, fridge and small kitchen table. Bed was a bit hard for us but we had extra pillows provided by staff.
Vaessen (10/5): Beautiful room and great location to access the beach-highly recommend - Beautiful newly updated rooms. Very clean and nice. Great location just across the street from the beach and about a mile walk down the beach to the lighthouse. Nice bike trails all thru the island so easy to get around. Like that it is adults only. Full kitchen in the Banyan room with everything you need. The only suggestion I have is to clean the pool more often, since there were a few bugs, but this does not lower my review of this place.

Karen (10/5): This is a delightful spot for folks who like a quiet location with great beach access. - The hotel reminded us of "old Florida"--one story, rooms around a pool/courtyard; it was quiet; rooms have all been recently renovated so they are clean and comfortable; full kitchen has new appliances. Laundry facilities (and detergent) are free for guests. Outside wash tub is available for rinsing shells, shoes, etc. Staff was on-site during the day, so we could ask for coffee filters, tp, or anything else we needed. Beach access is just the street--perfect during the winter months when it's sometimes cool or windy. The back of the hotel is adjacent to a canal; we didn't see any, but the owner said that manatees are there on occasion. The lighthouse, shops, and restaurants are within easy walking distance, and east end of the island is much less congested, so getting on and off the causeway is quick and easy. Nothing we didn't like! We could have used a few more kitchen utensils, but it's my understanding that they are acquiring more things as requests are made. (They had to rebuild twice following hurricanes, so they are still equipping the units.)

Heather (10/5): Perfect spot for a couples getaway - This is a great place to stay a couple looking for a quiet destination. We were really happy to find it so clean. Brand new beach chairs, umbrella, and also a cart to carry it all were on site to use! The walk over to the beach only took about two minutes. They also offer grills and grilling tools on the property overlooking the canal. I wish I would’ve known, we would’ve gone to Jerry‘s to pick up something to grill one night! Little touches like having bug spray and sunscreen on the patio were nice. The bed was very comfortable and the A/C worked well.

Cristy (6/5): Lovely and clean, spacious but it has some challenges. - Check-in was very easy, the code was on your door and you let yourself in. The bed was extremely comfortable and the rooms size was a lot larger than expected. It had everything you would need in the kitchen and bathroom, unit heating as well so you can maintain the temperature that you like. The pool is central and private from the street which is nice, and parking is very easy too. On arrival you receive a letter with a reminder of the rules of the property. There's lots of CAPITAL letters on things you can't do which left a bad taste in my mouth as this was my first interaction with the property. The use of capital letters in today's day and age is poor, to yell at guests before they've even set foot in the door was unsettling. The other challenge was that hot water took forever to reach lukewarm temperature in the shower and the kitchen. I assume you wont need hot water most of the time as it's warm, but I was there when it was cold and it wasted a lot of water before I could even get in the shower. Finally, the fridge makes a very loud noise when it turns on to cool and as it's right behind your bed it kept me awake the first couple of nights until I just gave up and went to another hotel.
Deedle (10/5): Best location, value, cleanliness and comfort. - Super cute room, great little kitchen, very clean and the beds were so comfortable. Bonus is it is directly across from the beach access. We also were close enough to walk to a great restaurant with shops and an ice cream store. I will never stay anywhere else on Sanibel. This is truly a hidden gem! I could have found a Junonia but didn’t.

Paul (9/5): Sanibel is a great place! - Sanibel and Captiva are great islands we visit all the time it is slowly being put back together after the hurricanes, we love walking the beaches collecting shells for the grandkids to see and enjoy, my Grandfather use to do the same back in the 60's and 70's. All the devastation the hurricanes did so much was lost!
