The L shaped building surrounds a large open grassed courtyard, which all rooms look out over. Excellent peaceful location close to everything, and with a delightful old world charm. All staff were very genuine and helpful. Definitely make this iconic lodge your place to stay in Pokhara. Another very good reason to stay is that a portion of the profits go to supporting impoverished kids in Nepal. We had the good fortune to meet the owner Govinda who is a kind, generous warm-hearted man. We extended our stay because we were very comfortable at Butterfly Lodge, and everyone made us feel so welcome. It is pleasant to sit on the balcony at the breakfast restaurant and watch the world go by in the street below.

• RC (9/5): Great place to make your base, they will look after your bag securely while you are trekking!! - Ive stayed here multiple times. Its in the heart of lakeside but its set back from the road and its quiet. Rooms are huge, bathroom always had hot water, beds were comfortable and everyone who works there is really kind and helpful. They will look after your bag securely if you need to go trekking. This was really important given i was staying a long time and had a lot of gear. I had no qualms about leaving my big bag with them and it would be safe. no doubt i will be back, its a reliable and safe place to stay and its pretty quiet. i.e its not a party place, so its perfect. Can only recommend.

• Rita (9/5): Excellent value for location and room. - Very comfortable room and an excellent location. I enjoyed my hot showers and the provided squeegee for sweeping shower water towards the drain. (Many hostels/hotels in Nepal, India, Egypt, Cameroon, and other places don't have a partition that separates shower water from getting all over the bathroom floor. This is one of the first ones that gave me a squeegee!) The hosts were wonderful and friendly. I really enjoyed my time there. My friend was even able to get a shuttle to pick me up from the airport (for an additional cost paid to taxi driver) if you don't want to think about transportation after a long day of traveling before I landed, but it can be scheduled much earlier in advance. The only thing that could have made it better is if the machine had an option for heat, but this is a complaint I have for most hostels as the heat functionality usually doesn't work or is non-existent. The room was a little cold at night, but I was able to double up on the sheets.

Butterfly Lodge is perfectly situated in Lakeside Pokhara and at the same time it is very quiet. You can also sit in a little garden, the rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff especially Mr. Saroj is extremely helpful and friendly. So my wife who had to stay in the hospital got a lot of support in this guesthouse. You also get any travel tickets and you may book trekking tours.

From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel very welcome and taken care of they are genuinely kind people who really try to help with anything you need. My room was spacious and clean, with a good hot shower and comfortable bed. The Wi-Fi worked better then I expected (in Nepal sometimes it’s not so stable), so that was a nice surprise. One of the highlights is the beautiful and quiet garden perfect place to relax, read a book or just drink tea and breath a bit. The location is also great: close to all the restaurants and the lake, but still quiet enough so you can rest well at night. Overall, it was a amazing stay with very good value for money. I definetly recommend Butterfly Lodge to anyone visiting Pokhara, and I would happy to come back on my next trip.

• Guest (10/5): I had a perfect and unforgettable 11-day stay. This is the absolute BEST hotel in Pokhara. - The Manager and staff are phenomenal! They definitely made my experience exceptional as a solo guest for a long-ish stay (11 days). They offer breakfast, coffee, and plenty of additional options that aren't necessarily obvious on the surface if you're just there for a short stay between adventures- just ask politely - and they'll absolutely make sure you get first class service. The location and property is also great. The large courtyard and peaceful garden setting in the heart of the main tourist area is a hidden gem, and still so close to everything. The top floor has the BEST (nearly 360-degree) views. Zero complaints. I only wish I had taken more advantage of the breakfast offered in the morning in those early days of my trip and had a longer time in Pokhara.

The rooms are quite large. It's walking distance to lakeside, Umbrella street. A special mention to the owner, who was extremely helpful and friendly throughout my stay. His warm hospitality and willingness to assist with anything really made me feel at home.He booked by local site seeing tour and it was economically priced. God bless him :) Overall, Butterfly Lodge offers great value, a calm atmosphere, and genuine Nepali hospitality. I would definitely recommend it.

• Mette (9/5): Just THE PLACE to stay in Pokhara! - Butterfly Lodge is always my hotel of choice in Pokhara. It provides superb service and comfort and has friendly and helpful staff. Its location is also very convenient. I’ll be back and keep recommending it! Personally I prefer to stay a place without breakfast because you can just go to one of Pokhara’s many cafes. But if you want breakfast or a pool then this isn’t the place for you.

Saroj and his team are warm and welcoming, always making sure my stay is comfortable. The beautiful garden is the best place to sit and enjoy a morning coffee, so peaceful and relaxing. The Lodge is super central to Lakeside but quiet at night. I was even lucky to see a view of the Himalayas right from my room! The shower was probably the best I've ever had! - so much water pressure and very hot (and easy to quickly switch between hot, warm and cold). The hotel itself is picturesque and was very tranquil, yet right in the centre of Pokhara Lakeside (the area where most tourists stay). The staff were very friendly. All in all, I would definitely recommend Butterfly Lodge. Good value for money too.

Loved the birds in the mornings and the delicious smell of the ´night queen’ flowers in the evening. Often other guests would set up at the tables that are on each floor and make noise until late.

We arrived wanting to go trekking. Saroj arranged everything for us with a very experienced and knowledgeable guide. We had a great 6 days trekking and returned to the calm of Butterfly Lodge to recuperate. Highly recommended.
