Guest Reviews
- Delin (8/5): - It's a standard Quality Inn, very close to Digikey and the room is ok.
- brian (10/5): - Clean room, friendly staff, quite, adequate breakfast.
- Masamitsu (6/5): - Good location for business. The facilities are reasonably old and condition is fair enough.
- Sandra L (10/5): - Every one was friendly and courteous, it was clean, the beds were very comfortable, the pool and hot tub were clean, AND, they made sure I got to the airport when I didn't have transportation. I loved visiting Thief River, and Quality Inn was a wonderful place to land in the evenings.
- Debra (10/5): - The staff were very accommodating and friendly.
- Daniel (6/5): - Only complaint was that the toilet flushing mechanism was broken and I had to remove the toilet lid and pull the chain myself to flush the toilet.
I reported the issue to the Desk at check out.
- Catherine (6/5): Easter trip - You advertise a pool, but the water is so cold there is no possible way to swim and the hot tub is too hot and very uncomfortable to be in.
- Tim (10/5): - It was quiet and comfortable.
- Andrew (4/5): - Overall the property isn't bad, better than some value stay hotels. I'd definitely recommend this place over any of the discount hotels in the area.
Unfortunately the bed was uncomfortable and the room climate control barely worked and regularly made noises.
No exhaust in bathroom, which made the whole room humid when showering.
Property needs better snow removal around side doors.
- Erica (6/5): - It really needs to be updated. Notable odor in rooms, toilets pulling away from the wall. Staff are friendly, but do not recommend this hotel, needs to be updated!
- Gregory (6/5): Not bad for the money. - Clean hotel. But smells very stuffy, moldy.
- Brady (10/5): - It was confronted n friendly people
- Blake (10/5): - Loved the pool and the pool table
- jason (2/5): - Mold. Smelled like mold.
- Rob (10/5): - This is an older facility but well kept. The bed was very comfortable and there was room to move around. The jacuzzi was very nice and the whole pool area very nice, and indoors for year round use. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were quick to keep the food available.
- Ron (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel, pool and hot tub were good. Convenient location
- Kristen (8/5): - The hotel was nice, although a little dated. The bed was very comfortable and I had what I needed in the room. The breakfast was pretty good with several selections.
- Daniel (8/5): - Very good breakfast
- BARBARA (8/5): - Friendly staff great breakfast. Some cleanliness issues in the room but sheets and bathroom were clean.
- Tara (6/5): - Very old, pool hours were not adhered to, kids in pool after hours, permanently stained bedding
- Ken (4/5): - Very outdated. Date code on toilet was 2003 and was not elongated style. It flushed poorly and stopped up several times. Low water pressure & low flow.
- Andrew (10/5): - The hotel was a bit dated, but it was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, and the pool was clean.
- Kerry (10/5): - Everybody was vary polite and nice!!
- Peter (10/5): - Great
- Amanda (8/5): Nice hotel - Hotel is older but they have done well with the room updates. Pool was extremely clean and my older kids luked the 8 foot deer end
- Karen (10/5): - It was great!!!
- David (10/5): I'll return - Friendly staff & the whirlpool was at the proper temp. (not bath water warm)
- Verified traveler (8/5): Baseball Weekend - We stayed here for a baseball tournament. The hotel is out dated, but has new carpeting. The hot tub wasn’t hot, breakfast was ok, and the bar area had decent service.
- Vincent (8/5): Decent - It was a decent place, with decent location. Good place to fond when there was a baseball tournament in town
- Verified traveler (10/5): - One od the best motels ive stayed at.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a wonderful time the hotel we clean and the staff was great
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Completely run down
Overall condition is poor
Use to be the best place to stay in TRF
Not anymore
- GMol (4/5): - Room was outdated and not very clean. Bed was most uncomfortable bed I have slept on felt like I was laying on the floor it was so firm. The bar and grill in the hotel had alright food but it was pricey for what you recieved. Continental breakfast was good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Front desk staff was friendly.
- T (4/5): - At no cancelation policy given was told would be charged even though could not made it there called at 6pm to let them know
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pool noise in the evening. Close the pool at an earlier time.
- Trumpetguy (6/5): - My room was on the first floor and looked like it had been updated with new carpet and paint in the last year or two. The bed and a recliner were both showing signs of lots of use. Both were saggy and squeaked when sat on.
the overall property was OK, but weeds on the boulevard in front of the hotel, the parking lot, and the side entrance were not in good shape. Most disgusting was the floor of the swimming pool. It was extremely dirty --- to the point where I wouldn't walk on it with bare feet. The continental breakfast was what you typically find and was good. The price for my hotel room was about 20 to 30 lower than other hotels in Thief River Falls. Now I know why.
- Thomas (4/5): - There was a loose inspection cover by the pool and the screws were missing and my daughters foot went through and took a quarter size chunk of skin out from under her big toe and cut and bruised the side of her foot. It was late when it happened so i let the lady know in the morning. She just said i should have told the night guy. Offered some little bandaids that were way to small. She could harldy walk o. What was supposed to be and adventerous day at at aggaziz national wildlife refuge.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff, great hotel and delicious breakfast!
- 604rosemarym (8/5): Good stay after a rocky start. - Check in experience was not to my liking. We had a reservation and from there things went down hill...all because I could barely hear the person behind the front desk. She pointed here and there explaining things....what I do not know. I had to ask where the stairs were (there is no elevator). I had asked for non-poolside when I made the reservation, and while we were a floor above the pool, it was right below us (including the noise from the pool). The saving grace was that the room was totally redone. While the breakfast was normal motel fare, the room was large and accommodating.
- doncM5153EG (8/5): Good stay - This is an older hotel and does show a little wear and tear in places. However the public areas were clean and our room was very clean. Staff was friendly. The breakfast area is large. Staff was friendly. The complimentary breakfast was average. The food was refreshed regularly.
- Bill (8/5): - Pleasantly surprised. Hotel was clean & had an excellent complimentary breakfast..
- kathym66 (4/5): No tv channels - This is a game changer with 2 channels...HBO and ESPN . Had to turn the volume up all the way to barely hear it. Spoke with what we guess it's the owner...could hardly understand his accent. Told to wait until service comes back on. Still nothing in the morning. Upon check out, was told we were the only ones complaining. Never attempted to try another tv, cable check or even come look. Booked the hotel at $89. Given a ten cent discount. Yes, ten cents. Not offered any discount for the inconvenience. Given, "have a nice day" after morning complaint.
- Diane55317 (8/5): Clean, comfortable rooms + breakfast - Our room was clean and comfortable with a desk, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and free WiFi. I would have given 5 stars if the pool area were not so run-down looking. The painted cement in the pool area had worn-off paint. My niece and nephew didn’t care. They had fun in the pool.
- Companion27698041434 (2/5): Stay somewhere else. - Got Sick. Poop in Bathtub while showering. No Elevators for disabled persons, not a disabled pwerson hotel. Sue this hotel for disrespect to disabled
The breakfast was dirty, toaster is broken, need a elevator.
- bl0dge (10/5): Good stay - We had a great weekend for a hockey tournament. Enjoyed our room. Breakfast was awesome. The restaurant and bar was great. Good price. Good location to the mini Ralph. Group rate for our team was very good. Staff was excellent. Had a decent workout room.
- Candi6257 (10/5): Thief River, Mn. Hotel - Very clean and excellent service! Pool was to cold to use. Breakfast was great.Very close to other anmenties, like shopping, movie theater, restaurants and bars. Great town to visit and explore. Would diffently stay there again!
- Dana (6/5): - I don't recommend a poolside room if you want to get to bed before the pool closes. The heater was very noisy and you couldn't read the gauges. We were there for a hockey tournament and all of our keys were deactivated when we came back from our early Sunday morning game. Staff was very friendly and accommodating though.
- Climber65418323287 (10/5): Great place to stay! - Best value in town, excellent restaurant and bar, equipped with pool table and darts. Nice breakfast area with great coffee machine. Friendly and helpful staff. With four entrances parking and getting to your room is easy. Will stay here again and recommend everyone to stay here.
- F1236WRstever (2/5): Awful - Truly the worst hotel room I’ve had in years. 4 degrees outside when I checked in but the heat was not on. It was about 50 degrees in the room. Antique heater (with a remote control for some reason) ran all night, non-stop. It was very loud. Claustrophobic bathroom with 7’ ceilings. Toilet was very small, felt like my knees were up around my ears. Cigarette burns on the tub, which was gross enough that I put down a towel befor I stepped in for my shower. No water pressure. Tiny desk shoved up against the heater made it hard to work.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Hotel - This is a very nice comfortable hotel. It's older, but they take care of it and ensure that the rooms are nice and clean.
- mcvac14 (6/5): Satisfactory - Pretty nice hotel. Best part is breakfast area. It is huge and has a good selection. Also really large pool area. Hot tub was only half full though and paint was peeling badly. Staff here was excellent. Room was fine, no complaints, comfy beds just a little small. Room was clean. None of the outside doors require a key card to get into the hotel so I didn't feel that secure. I feel this hotel is somewhat overpriced but they all seemed to be in this small town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent place to stay - Pretty good hotel. The staff I dealt with were great. Nice large continental breakfast area with good selection. Pool area was huge and better than most, however, the hot tub was only half full of water and the paint is peeling badly in it. We used it anyway. They have good vending machines that are priced fairly. Coffee and cocoa available 24 hours is nice. The room itself was fine, comfy beds but small, the room was clean. One problem was that our room's door did not shut completely unless you pushed it shut and heard it lock. On our two day stay, the housekeeper cleaned it while we were gone and when we got back she had not made sure it was shut tight so our door hadn't been locked for awhile. Another security concern is that you can get in to the hotel from any of the side doors without a room key card. In the lobby area the seating is visibly worn down although it looks mostly updated. I do feel that this hotel is somewhat overpriced for its age and condition but the hotel selection is scarce up here.
- Beth (10/5): - Very impressed with hotel. Room was clean and nice. Had a little water damage and AC unit could use an update, but still worked fine. Breakfast was very good, eating space was very nice. The little restaurant at the back of the hote was a gem! Excellent food!! Very happy with my stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice property. Should have grab bars in shower of handicap accessible room.
- afischer21 (10/5): Impressive - My family was visiting other family members in the area and decided to stay at a hotel. Quality Inn was very reasonably priced. This place has a comfy bed and the room was very clean. The breakfast had great options. We loved the person in charge of breakfast, for she was very nice. The pool area was also clean and a great addition to our two night stay.
- 580lynnj (8/5): Comfortable - This hotel is clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast with a comfortable dining area. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Only problem encountered is that the pool was too cold. This was disappointing because my family was unable to tolerate the cold water.
- Dave (8/5): - Nice hotel. The staff are friendly and do a great job maintaing it. It does show its age, mainly through its design and finishings. Very comfortable stay nonetheless.
- Lynn (10/5): - Nice CLEAN accommodations! Highly recommend this hotel.
- Selkiy (10/5): Best place around - So fantastically clean, most comfortable bed, it was like a firm soft cloud. The perfect pillows and a lovely indoor courtyard. The morning buffet is pleasant and it felt safe and cosy. The staff was polite and helpful, there’s a big pool and an exercise room
- nimue2017 (6/5): Family visit - We spent 5 nights in this hotel using it as a place to stay and visit family. It was ok. The staff was friendly. However the room was small. A poolside room we expected easy access to the pool. While there was a door leading to the pool, you could not use it to return to room! The pool was a little too cold for me. I would have loved to use the hot tub but couldn’t. The first step was so high and the bar so low, I couldn’t get in. There was a handicapped lift but it had no power.
Now the room was too small to set up my yoga mat! The real challenge was the a/c which had no readable control, gurgled in the bath tub and even backed up disgusting stuff into the bath tub. The manager was very prompt responding and getting it cleaned!
They were very considerate of Jenny my service dog. They respected the special DND sign we placed on the door.
- Racine (6/5): - The public restrooms were unique. I thought the property was very unclean. the bathroom tubs are filty. dirt is embedded in the flooring of the tub.
- Amy (10/5): - Front desk is nice and helpful and the breakfast is good, also a bar in the back. quite convenient.
- jrranch (8/5): Nice place to stay - The Inn has been updated. The room was clean and breakfast area was a large area and good food. we appreciated that it had a refrigerator and ironing board in the room.
Check in staff was pleasant. There was a pool available but we did not make use of it.
- Beecindy (8/5): Great Price, Great Staff - When I arrived, I gathered several things to bring in right away as I was in a hurry. I struggled to get it all in my hands and when I got to the door of the lobby the young man that was clerking came and held the doors open for me. Upon check in he asked if second floor was ok and I asked if I could have main because I had a sprained ankle and it was splinted which he could not see but it was there. He immediately searched a room on the main floor and close to the lobby since I had all my stuff in already. That was so nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Only problem was that the pool was out of order & we were looking forward to using it. We understand that things like that happen. No big deal, tho.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was extremely helpful and room was very nice and cozy!
- Verified traveler (2/5): No notice of no pool - When we checked in to this hotel, the very friendly and apologetic front desk person informed us that the pool was out of service, not just for a few hours, but for the entire month of March. The pool was one main reason we chose this hotel. It was very disappointing to book this room and be unable to cancel this room without penalty. We wasted a free night's stay and had to find a different hotel for the weekend.
- MikeT1959 (8/5): Sop over from Roseau - We were in Roseau on Sunday and knew it would be late returning to Fergus Falls so we decided to book a room in Thief River Falls. The hotel was clean, the room was very nice. The desk clerk Monday morning around 6;00 am was very nice and hospitable. Very nice large breakfast room. Breakfast was very good.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Pool was closed....no warning when we booked. Hot tube was overflowing and leaking into poolside rooms. Pool table had only one ball, and the vending machines would take dollars. Not a big deal, except the front desk staff wouldn't give out quarters..???
- Donald (4/5): Disappointing - Pool was drained/not useable, which was NOT posted when booked just the day before the stay! Hot tub was not clean. Hotel had large group (hockey?) staying there, and were in pool area talking/being very loud until midnight! Considering we booked a pool side room, assuming we would be using the pool, we should have been asked if we wanted to switch to a non-poolside room. Front desk should be clearing out people from pool area at the same the pool/hot tub closes, instead of allowing them to stay and keep all the guests poolside awake. On the upside, breakfast was good.
- Cheri (10/5): Clean and comfortable - Had absolutely no complaints, would stay here again, price was very good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff helped get from airport to hotel and from hotel to pickup location even though roads were I see greatly appreciated also on sight bar was great
- Rhonda (10/5): Snowed in - It was a great night stat22
- Keith (10/5): Would stay there again - Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was friendly
- L6088GSchrisd (4/5): What a horrible experience - The issues started with reservations. At that point, I should have refused to stay at the hotel. Checkin was good for most part, but went downhill from there. Rooms while somewhat updated are small and come with ridiculously small bathrooms with poor water pressure.
On our second day, we were met with no room service. No beds made, no towels exchanged, nothing.
While they claim there is a restaurant in the hotel, they were not open during our stay. .
Many more opportunities for a good stay at Americinn or Grandstay in town. The Grandstay is much newer and right next door. Spend your money there.
- Dana (10/5): Awesome - It was a good place to stay for the price.
- Jillian (10/5): Perfect for what we were looking for. - We were in town to visit my nephew who goes to school there. Pete was awesome, very friendly and helpful. There was a younger male who worked midnights who was very accommodating as well. Great stay, would definitely stay again!
- 847sallyd (8/5): Nice hotel - The hotel is nice and been updated. You can still tell that it was built awhile ago. The rooms are updated except the heat/cooling units. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are nice. Refrigerator, microwave, ironing board, hair dryer in room. The young man thst checked me in was wonderful as was the man that I made the reservation with. Pool and hot tub in hotel and bar with restaurant. Nice place to stay and no complaints at all!!
- Doug (8/5): Average but clean rooms. - Needs designated outdoor smoking area, smokers and smell right next to back door is bad.
- may (6/5): Just ok - There were not any soaps or shampoo in the bathroom to freshen up with. Also, the buttons on the remote did not work. It was however clean and a nice environment.
- tim (6/5): - Old property, Smelly toilet, good breakfast, good staff, won’t stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I
- Norman (10/5): Get Away Trip - The hotel was clean and people friendly. The room I was in was clean and everything was in working order. The restaurant on site and bar serves only dinner and is only open at night but the food and service is excellent and the staff are very friendly. I would said this is a very good place to spend your night and have some good peace and quiet.
- Judy (10/5): Delightfully surprised with all quality and servic - Everything was very good, facilities and services.
- Darla (10/5): - We were visiting family in the area. The staff was great and friendly- the hotel very clean and inviting- the breakfast had plenty of variety. Will definitely stay there again.
- MiCasaEsSuCasaBandB (10/5): Awesome - Checked in and staff very respectful. Went into the restaurant Ordered appetizers and wings. Created a new sauce for wings called "The Crazy Canadian". Blueberry and ghost pepper sauce mixed 50-50!!!! Awesome. Staff great. Beer excellent. Manager out of this world. Would stop here again. No question !!!!!!
great job !!!
- Busboy19 (8/5): Very friendly staff and service - Front staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and breakfast room was big with several food choices. I don't think there was an elevator anywhere though which was inconvenient for second floor.
- Cindy (10/5): Have stayed several times. - Always have been happy with this hotel. I usually stay several days and always clean and good breakfast. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): TRF Quality INN - Very clean. Real nice, large area to eat breakfast. Good food for breakfast. Nice size bedrooms. Nice, clean pool area.
- Linda (8/5): Convenient, pleasant hitel - Accommodating staff, pleasant decor, easy to locate, convenient location, great breakfast, comfortable beds.
- Butrica (6/5): Poolside disaster - Rooms need updating had a poolside room hot tub was not filled paint chipped off pool table broken the shower head was busted as well
- michele (8/5): - Great staff!
- Mandy (8/5): Great location! - We were in town for high school tournaments at the Ralph Arena. The location was perfect for a quick drive to the arena. Breakfast was great and the hotel has been updated in several areas. Only bummer is the smaller sized beds, doubles rather than queens. These were not comfortable for 2 adults so we each slept in one.
- Ashley (2/5): High price + Broken Appliances=Waste of Money - I paid $118 for my room. I was excited to stay here, because the last visit i had done a survey for I said it would be nice if there was a microwave in every room instead of 1 on the main floor. The owner sent me an email saying they were working on putting microwaves in every room, which I thought was awesome. Inconveniently the microwave in my room (Room 213) did not work, and the front desk guy for the night shift was unhelpful. He told me, who is pregnant and Mother of 2 young daugters to just use the microwave downstairs and that he would put in a work order. Also the heater should be fixed especially when kids can hurt themselves When I told the lady in the morning she apologized and said if she was working she would have gotten me a different room or a different microwave, which would have been greatly appreciated. I also loved the continental breakfast!
- kevin (8/5): Clean hotel - The hotel clerk was very nice. The hotel is nicely remodeled but the bathroom door looked a bit rough, should have replaced also. The pool was very cold, kids couldn't even tolerate the temp. Do not eat at the bar and grill next door, food was alright but the service was the worst ever. Overall the hotel is nice. Will stay again and maybe try the dining at the hotel.
- sandra (8/5): - We went to a wedding and the room was perfect for our needs. We both slept better than normal.
- Lisa (4/5): Stinky! - Upon entering our room, the smell of sewer gas hit me. We turned some heat on (we are in northern Minnesota), and went to the bar for a beer. The bar/restaurant was cold as their furnace wasn't working. When we returned to our room, the smell of warm sewer gas was nauseating! I called the front desk and it was no problem to get a new room. My cousin in a different room had major cracking in the walls, enough so that he could push on the wall, and see into the bathroom.
- Brian (8/5): Quality Inn/Thief Riv. Falls - Friendly staff, good breakfast, comfy pillows/bed, quiet
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, for the price. - We were coming to Thief River Falls to move our son into college. This hotel was the best price and it ended up also being clean and comfortable. It also had free breakfast with many choices. It was a great deal for the money.
