The location was not too far to walk to the beach and to the shops and restaurants. The complimentary breakfast was the largest spread of food I have seen for a free breakfast. I will definitely be staying here again!!

• Laura (9/5): Good facilities, service lacking. - The handicap-accessible room was comfortable, the lobby was nice, free cold water bottles was fantastic. The breakfast was very good. The lady serving the food was very sweet and accommodating. The warm swimming pool was wonderful. The room was good, but all 3 of us wished it had a walk-in shower instead of a tub. Even though I specifically requested maid service, we never received it. I also requested a shower chair but it was never delivered.

• TracyF172 (8/5): Beware the Bed Sheets! - The location is good and a short drive or walk to the beach. Overall a well-kept hotel. Breakfast is particularly good in terms of offerings and quality. HOWEVER, the hotel uses old bed sheets that no longer stay in place -- the bottom sheet elastic is too worn. So I spent the nights there trying to keep the bedsheet from wrapping around me and did not have restful sleep.

• Kevin (1/5): You do not get what is advertised or what you pay for - It looked nice in the pictures. The main issue is I booked a room with a king and a pullout bed. I was told AFTER the front desk had already confirmed and essentially checked me in that the room infact did not have a pull out. This is an entire bed gone from my room which was higky unacceptable. I was told there were no other rooms and was not offered any extra blankets or pillows. When I asked for the managers info she essentially said that he was already aware and working to get it updated. Kitchenette was not equipped cutting board no knife limited number of forks and spoons. Pans looked terrible and we're not non stick. Dishwasher didnt work right (didnt air dry) And safety hazard there was a broken doorstop that had a jagged sharp edge which I had to constantly ensure my wife and kids didnt accidentally go over in that area and hurt themselves. I will never stay at this or frankly any Best Western after the experience I had here. It's clear they dont invest in their property.

• Sheryl (6/5): We have been coming to Port Aransas for years and have always stayed at this best Western. But I think now we are going - The location and price are very good. We requested a handicap room and the toilet seat is certainly not high enough for a disabled person. The wand in the shower did not work, it leaked all of the water from the bottom of the handle. Also, I feel the quality of their breakfast has gone down in the last several months. Food is not warm and they only now have one waffle maker.

Semi-friendly, though not useful front desk staff turned to unpleasant and confrontational posture. This property has an obvious staffing problem and is demonstrably customer unfriendly.

• strovalta (10/5): Great Winter Stay - We enjoyed our stay with finding this hotel was back to the good experiences . We arrived to a helpful checkin clerk and a clean room . Linens were new and room was newly painted . We enjoyed the pool the very most ! Heated and it was very warm and felt so good ! Breakfast was kept clean and stocked . Brandy was friendly and cleaning and helping others . I enjoyed the yogurt with toppings but they had sausage and pancake on a stick , muffins , fruits , eggs , sausage , gravy , waffles . Lots of choices. I’m happy it’s back to how it was in the past. Very convenient to the beach and good pizza right across the street ! Checkout girl was also friendly and helpful . All the workers were busy and glad it back to higher standards !

• E9028TOlarryr (2/5): It's become the worst - We have been going to this location for over 20 yrs. We were so well known by name with the staff and we would get the same room and bring flowers to the staff every visit. Since the new owners, the place has fallen in cleanliness and repairs to the worst motel 6 you can think of. It is now extremely disgusting. Black mold, cockroaches, high staff turnover. The breakfast is atrocious. We actually got sick our last stay. Black mold on the showerhead and on the walls behind the beds. Sheets dirty. I'm so ticked. Will never stay at this location again and writing corporate that this location is giving Best Western a very black eye. These owners should be removed.
• Ken (10/5): The best place to stay when you’re in Port A - One of my absolute favorite best westerns I have ever stayed at Obviously, it’s Location by the beach is certainly number one The compact design since it is nested in between residential and commercial property, everything is extremely well organized with a separate exercise facility, laundry room, and ice machine right across from the swimming pool I must say that the room was equally well, organized and designed for efficiency and comfort with the most comfortable bed and my favorite pillows of feathers for a good nights sleep The only downside was the 7 AM breakfast because I am up earlier than that and was not able to participate and had to go find breakfast somewhere else before I needed to be on my job site

Good sized room with everything you need for a short break. Room could have been cleaner as found earplug on floor and sand on the side in room when arrived. Other guests were using swimming area for smoking and dog toilet area which was a bit off putting to use when found cigarette butt floating in the pool. Not hotels fault, was just a shame to be put off using the facilities.
• Sheryl (8/5): Have stayed at this hotel, many times and will continue to stay there on my future visits to Port Aransas - Great location and very good value for the price. On Wednesday and Thursday the head maintenance lady named Liddia (I think that was her name)was wonderful, happy and very helpful. She had a great breakfast presentation. But on Friday morning, there was another woman taking over for the breakfast area and she was not nearly as organized or clean as Liddia.

• Shuang (2/5): Will not recommend this to anyone - The staff was friendly and helpful. The maintenance guys were nice and quick. The facility is definitely very old. When we got there, there is no shampoo, soap or bedding for the sofa bed in the room. The fridge broke on our first day there and leaked water all over the floor, luckily nobody fall over it. The room had roaches. I am not sure if I should be happy or sad to only saw them on the morning that we left. The sofa bed had stains all over. The bathroom smelled so bad we had to leave the bathroom fan on all night. On our last day, there was no breakfast.

• Emily (4/5): - This place has high reviews and we were really excited to stay here. However, we arrived at night and as soon as we turned the lights on we found tiny roaches scurrying to hide. We immediately left and gave the key back. The front staff was kind enough to give us a refund and didn’t give any pushback. Which is why I don’t want to give a flat out one star. But just be warned to double check your luggage on any critters that might be going back home with you.
• jackieb756 (8/5): Clean and great location - Hotel was extremely clean especially considering people tracking in sand from the beach. Location was great near beach and near restaurants. Older style hotel with rooms opening onto parking area which was very convenient for loading and unloading car for trips to the beach. AC worked well. Only drawback to our stay was not very good internet connection. Will definitely stay here again.

• Edith (8/5): Gutes Best Western in der Nähe des schönen Strandes - Die Suite mit kleiner Küchenzeile war recht geräumig und gut ausgestattet, besonders der Kühlschrank war sehr schön und groß. Auch Badezimmer und die Dusche waren größer als der Durchschnitt, also eigentlich so, wie wir es uns von einer Unterkunft wünschen. Das riesige Kingsizebett war sauber und sehr gemütlich. Der Pool hatte eine gute warme Temperatur. Das Frühstück hatte die grundsätzlichen Dinge eines amerikanischen Hotels zu bieten, die Waffeln und das Joghurt aus dem Spender waren lecker. Ein gutes Best Western-Erlebnis. Im ersten Zimmer hat die WC-Spülung nicht funktioniert, wir wurden problemlos umquartiert. Bei beiden Räumen hatte die Ausziehcouch starke Flecken, sodass ich nicht darauf hätte schlafen wollen und die Rahmen der Dusch-Türen waren so verrostet, dass sie sich fast nicht zuschieben ließen.

• dlst2015 (2/5): Bad optics and really has degraded since previous owners - Gentleman, I am writing in response to our (wife and myself) trip to Pt Aransas, where we stayed at your facility. We have been going to this motel since 2015, sometimes multiple stays in one year, but I can honestly say that this might be the last year, and I will explain. We were there from 9/8 (check in) and left on 9/11, no problems with the reservation, clerk was friendly, and everything was as planned. My wife has a handicap, so we asked for a room on the ground floor and was assigned a handicap room. Not a big deal. The room was clean, until the wife discovered the shower head had mold/mildew visible (see picture). We did not report this, but hindsight maybe we should have. The room was musty and just a strong order of mildew, I am thinking the a/c is not removing the humidity from the room. My suspicion was confirmed when I did not see any water being ejected from the main a/c unit. The room was adequately cool, but the humidity was rough, especially at night, but bearable (it is tropical weather). Again, we did not report this. I am an early riser, so most mornings I go down and get a cup of coffee and sit outside and read. The other 2 or 3 pictures represents trash that was left over from the previous days work. Maybe it was just that day it was not picked up, but we stayed at this facility Sept 2024 and i don't remember seeing this. So if you consult my feelings, I would say the  overall state of the motel has gone down, I just view it as bad optics.  My intent is not a refund or free nights because of this, but I could tell that the place was not ran the same as previous years. And not to the betterment.
