- Verified traveler (6/5): - To be very Frank in this review I am gonna put the Pros & Cons of this place. Pros: The view from the balcony of our room 12 along with 10-13 where the balcony is common is just too beautiful, blue sea & the Marina below are amazing sights from the balcony from 10-13 and also from 8-9; the rooms are decently priced and the staff is helpful when there Cons: If you have a lot of luggage you are in a big problem if you don't have a taxi. So though the place says Massa Lubrense, it actually is at Marina Lobra, the Sita bus has limited time table to Massa Lubrense and from there are very very limited buses to Marina Lobra though the hotel has a stop outside the hotel. So consider that you will have to trek 15 mins min every time you got to reach the M.L centre from there Sorrento is gonna take 20 mins by bus again but because of uncertainty in given t.t you spend more than an 1.5 hrs to reach Sorrento. Next this place has very limited facilities, means we asked for an Electric Iron or a nail cutter which we did not get at the reception. The reception is also available from 7.30 in the morning till 8 in the evening, so after 8 there is not a single person in the property who will be there. The breakfast every day is the same - croissant, cereals fruits curd & some toast with coffee and also curd.. but that was the same for all 5 days here. The SITA tickets are also only available at the next hotel and not a single board or a person actually directs you to San Francesco Relai
- Rita (8/5): Vista mozzafiato - Camera essenziale ricavata dalla vecchia celletta dei frati ,doccia a pavimento. Colazione soddisfacente. A pochi passi dal porticciolo di metà di Sorrento. La nostra camera era vista mare un ottimo modo per cominciare e finire la giornata.
- maria (8/5): Nel complesso carino - Il relais ha un potenziale immenso, peccato non sia affatto sfruttato, trattasi di un ex convento che troneggia sul porto di marina della lobra. ottima posizione, unica pecca assenza di parcheggio. Camera pulita ma bagno fatiscente. Il chiostro, luogo preposto per la colazione, delizioso, cosi come il panorama che si ammira da varie finestre. Gli addetti alla reception non rispondono al cell ( non esiste una linea fissa) oppure lo hanno spento. Non guasterebbe maggiore cordialità, e conoscenza del posto cosi da poter fornire indicazioni agli ospiti.
- Natalie (10/5): Magnificent stay with a scent of history - We experienced amazing service and very friendly and relaxed atmosphere there. The personal was sooo helpful and responsive. We had a lovely small room with a view over the bay and in-situe bathroom. Once we bought some local vine and didn't have an opener and a friendly receptionist lent us one and glases on top of that. Thanks a lot! We enjoyed a romantic dinner at the back garden terrace, where there are some tables, chairs, orange trees and a pingpong table. We only struggled a bit with parking within the relais gardens as the entrance gate was quite narrow, but the receptionist are more than happy to park your car if you need. I fully recommend this hotel!
- Sarah (8/5): Unique accommodation near charming little harbour - San Francesco Relais is a very reasonably priced, peaceful and unique place to stay, away from the tourists trappings. It's a 5 minute walk to the harbour, Marina della Lobra that offers a welcoming family run bar, Angelo's and the most delicious food at Ristorante da Michele, also family run with fresh fish on the menu and the best homemade pistachio panna cotta to ever pass my lips. The main town of Massa Lubrense is a little hike up the hill where you can easily catch a bus to Sorento, Amalfi and beyond. There is also a good place to get gelato (very important). I would say San Francesco Relais is the place is for you if you are in a reflective mood, have a pile of books to read or maybe you are a writer. You can also get a boat ride to the more touristy locations of Capri, Amalfi or Positano although it will set you back 50 euros or so and taxis are also very expensive for those on a budget and I can imagine it's pretty intense in the summer months. My visit was in May after cycling from Rome so this provided me with the perfect spot to chill and recuperate.
- claudio (6/5): Troppo caro! - Ho prenotato questo alloggio solo per una notte ( fortunatamente). Il luogo è molto suggestivo , un monastero francescano, le stanze sono ricavate dalle celle dei frati. Quindi sono piccole, senza televisione. La colazione è buona. La conduzione è familiare ,comunque efficiente. È un buon posto peró ritengo sia caro (110 euro) per quello che offrono

- Nicola (6/5): da migliorare in alcuni servizi - Un convento trasformato in b&b. Gentilezza e disponibilità da parte dei ragazzi che lo gestiscono. Colazione abbondante. Posizione con vista sul mare (almeno la nostra camera). Purtroppo il rapporto qualità/prezzo non giustifica il costo. Non c'è TV in camera, il WiFi è alquanto ballerino e il bagno è piccolo, seppur pulito e nuovo. La doccia va sul water e l'acqua è spesso fredda. Il letto è comodo e con lenzuola e coperte di buona qualità
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel im alten Kloster. - Da es sich um ein altes Kloster handelt, sind auch die Zimmer sehr einfach. Es gibt weder Fernseher noch Klimaanlage. Nur ein Stromanschluss hat gepasst. Die Dusche war sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig, da diese Mitten im Bad war und nur durch einen zuziehbaren Duschvorhang bestand. Dadurch war natürlich das gesamte Bad nass auf dem Boden, wenn man geduscht hatte. Zudem dauerte es bestimmt 5-10 Minuten, bis das Wasser der Dusche warm wurde. Sonst aber hat das Hotel eine sehr schöne Lage am Hang oberhalb eines kleinen Hafens. Es gibt einen kleinen Garten mit Terrasse und Sitzmöglichkeiten (schöner Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang im Meer), aber aufpassen, hier gibt es Mücken! Das Frühstück war recht einfach gehalten mit Croissants, Joghurt und Obst.
- Joseph (8/5): Great Location! no frills! - This is a no Frills hotel location. Its location worked perfectly for us! We had a large room, Access to a huge balcony! Beautiful views overlooking Marina Del Lobra! Easy access to both the Marina, and Massa Centro town. Wifi and free parking. We didnt experience the Breakfast, Each day we left earlier then it was offered. Staff was very friendly!

- kon beter... (6/5): Niet wat we hadden verwacht... - De recensies en de voorbeeldfoto's gaven een mooier beeld dan de werkelijkheid. De badkamer was erg klein, maar wel compleet en schoon. De kameraankleding was summier te noemen en gaf geen sfeer. Het hotel is erg gehorig. Personeel was wel vriendelijk, maar oppervlakkig; gaven echt alleen de basis informatie en niet bijv tav tips voor de omgeving. Het ontbijt was wel erg simpel, zelfs voor Italiaanse begrippen; de cafe espresso is zeker gemist! Het ontbijt werd ook vrij laat en kort geserveerd: van 0900-1100u.
