• Bronwen (9/5): Comfortable and efficient - Location is a small walk to central area and sights, also short work to the buses that services the city loop area. Restaurant on site is very good. Rooms well equipped with washer/kitchen etc. backs into the busy street of Bradden for restaurants etc. Staff professional and helpful. Parking is plentiful. Free included if book direct to hotel. Has a simple gym with decent equipment. Suggest it needs a signature smell or sound or some art. Something to add warmth in common areas . Felt more apartment living than hotel.

Happy hour available but we struggled to be back from exploring in time to enjoy. Handy location for restaurants and shops. Early happy hour. Maybe push back till6pm when visitors are back from days out. Good parking though a little tight for manoeuvring and quite dark.

We show hotel staff but they seemed disinterested. Plus we were charged twice for our room upgrade, had to call multiple times to get the charge reversed (which was done eventually)

• Bruce (9/5): - The Bed was extremely Comfortable and the location was close to to excellent food outlets and nightlife. The room was also very quiet for a central location. The parking garage is very tight to navigate but it is do able.
• Jemma (9/5): Great room in a great location. - The motel is very well located. The rooms are extremely clean and quite. The check in staff were really helpful, they even offered a different room when they found out my mum had a fear of elevators. The pillows were very hard- not a big deal though.

Unfortunately our visit was soured by the poor service at the restaurant which was a contrast to our previous visits. Hopefully this was just a glitch as the food is generally excellent.

• John (6/5): Excellent facility; untrained staff. - Great location. Really nice rooms. Spotlessly clean. Untrained staff. On check in gave me a card that, I think, was described as my room key. No explanation that I also had to use it in lift, to access upper floors, and for entrance and exit to car park. Room was not ready for occupation. TV did not function. Was told that it would be fixed next day. Next day was told that, because it was a public holiday, no maintenance staff available for next 3 days. Bathroom shower body cleanser was empty. I phoned for replacement. A staff member brought this and, literally, ran from our door. Could not work out how to fit it to its cradle. Phoned again. Same staff member came back with “key” that is essential to fit it to cradle. Why didn’t he bring key and fit it first time. Several other small but annoying inconveniences. Because of my complaints we were upgraded to an excellent one bedroom apartment. We enjoyed next ; nights of our stay by deliberately avoiding all contact with staff. An excellent facility but it deserves a much better trained staff.

• Karen (9/5): Had a lovely time. I was very spoilt. - The breakfast was one of the best buffets ever. The staff were amazing, they went above and beyond. The apartment was great. My coffee maker didn’t work. I did bring my own coffee bags though so not to worry. Everything else was fine.

• Stay63617302409 (10/5): Clean, comfortable in perfect location. - Clean, modern, comfortable and central. The restaurant and bar downstairs was a great spot to meet friends with a cosy atmosphere. We thought the breakfast was tasty and included all of the classics. We had a hire care to get around during the day but didn’t need it at night as everything was within walking distance…even Maccas next door. We had a great time and found nothing to fault. We would recommend and we will stay there again.

• squalker (4/5): Great location - 2007 Travelodge vibes. - First time I’ve stayed here. The location is pretty good. Reception is nice enough. The building seems clean if a bit Soviet style. However, this is not a hotel. This is a 3 star serviced apartment with delusions of grandeur. Obtaining any information about the facilities was near impossible. The room I had, an executive apparently, was nowhere near the standard I would expect for a ‘hotel’ - claiming on their own website to be 4.5 stars. Having booked directly, the breakfast buffet was available. The food wasn’t too bad but absolutely chaotic. People were complaining universally. I went in with low expectations so remained unabashed. It screamed to me that there was a lack of management. The staff were doing the best they could. Inside the room itself. Sparsely decorated. Dark. Shabby. Literally the bare minimum. However, they do have a state of the art minibar. In one of the only clear missives when entering the room; they have a strict 15 second policy. Once the door is opened, anything not retuned within 15 seconds is billed automatically. Obviously I didn’t touch it but if they had used half of their outlay for the minbar for the fitout - the space would have been far nicer. The internet speed was ok but unsecured so make sure you have a VPN. The chromecast feature was ok but painfully slow. The toilet in the bathroom was pitched at a strange angle and the lid continually fell down. The shower was a corded shower that would be moved and one of those cascade heads that are only good for simulating summer in Edinburgh. To obtain a frisson of water pressure you could have both running, however, getting them both to operate at a coherent and reasonable temperature was a skill set I was unable to master. There are not usb-c outlets at the desk or otherwise. There is a clock radio in the bedroom which has the 2006 IPod charger on it - for all you hipsters out there. If you are staying for work and for some reason want a large floor plan, this would be ok. It’s not horrific. However, there are so many better options available.

• Ricky (10/5): We were offered an upgrade of $40 a night from the friendly staff member. Happy to have been offered this great opportun - The property was absolutely outstanding. Clean, tidy & conveniently located. The only downside was underground car parking a little expensive at $26 a day on top of our accommodation cost.

• camcoh1 (10/5): The Avenue - Helpful review - We visit Canberra every 5 to 6 weeks and always book with the Avenue. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and well appointed, and the venue is within quick walking distance to the center of the city.

• Paul (9/5): Enjoyable stay in a comfortable well equipped room at a very reasonable cost in a central location. - The Junior King Suite was well equipped with separate bedroom and lounge/kitchen; the bed and couch and chairs were comfortable. I would have preferred the mattress to be a bit firmer, but my wife thought it excellent. The balcony was an enjoyable area. The suite had a full size fridge, and an additional very well stocked minibar fridge. My only area for improvement was the ultra soft mattress as mentioned earlier. I regretted that we were not staying longer, and particularly felt it was well suited to self catering on extended stays.
