- AMISHKUMAR SHIRISHCHANDRA (10/5): - Great place to stay, staff were all very good, good breakfast both western and Chinese. Hotel offers free airport drop and pick up from morning to midnight. All local amenities opposite the hotel, very safe area. Would definitely come back and stay here.

One area of improvement for Expedia booking APP, information misleads and indicated the hotel located near Beijing Road Pedestrian Street (walking distance from hotel)….in actual fact it’s very far away @50 minutes from hotel….resulted need to traveling in and out via local taxi which cost @¥230 per trip (included ¥19 toll fee) or 2 ways ¥500 daily……Screenshot shared with Ms Christine Zheng. Despite the wrong location from Expedia APP….hold it can correct it and A GREAT complement to Holiday inn hotel. THANK YOU Room 642
- Julie (10/5): - What a beautiful hotel! I booked it because I thought it would be close to the airport. The shuttle isn’t as frequent, so check first with your schedule. Other than that, it’s a luxurious hotel in the middle of nowhere.

Appreciate for the manager at the reception, Chris, who is the most helpful and experienced hotel manager. He helped us to contact hotel.com and Expedia to refund the incorrect hotel booking fees, and that saved us a log of effort especially we had just arrived with jet lag. Chris is the best, thanks for that!

- Andrew (8/5): - A proper Holiday Inn as you would expect it to. The hotel itself is nice. It has a gym and a swimming pool (you have to buy a swimming cap in order to use). The area itself - not much to do, it's very far from the actual city, and from the airport too. So, basically, plan on staying just in the hotel and perhaps eat in one of the restaurants nearby, but that's about it. About 30-40 minutes from the airport. More from the city (we didn't go - too much logistics :( The staff is very nice, expesially Christine - she's absolutely amazing! Speaks perfect English and of a HUGE help. Kudos!
- John (10/5): - The Holiday Inn Airport Guangzhou is a hotel built on a grander scale than any Holiday Inn in the USA. Marble, marble everywhere. The rooms are adequate sized, very quiet and have everything you need in a hotel room. The multiple restaurants all serve good meals. The service personnel all try very hard and most speak English. The only negative I observed is that the place needs a deep cleaning in and out. We enjoyed our stay there and will return if we are in the area again.
- Dolly (10/5): - The room that we were given was spacious. The linens were very clean and smells clean, too. The staff were very helpful and polite. The only thing that I did not like was that the staff cleared up our table during breakfast time when we are not yet even finished.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - This hotel is quite far from the airport. And if you have an early morning flight, then they do not have a shuttle bus available. Your only option is for the hotel to call you an over priced limo. There are no taxis or DiDi’s available early in the morning. In room safe did not work, and AC was broken. Also, the bathrooms don’t have shower doors, so when you take a shower the entire bathroom will be filled with water.

I arrived on a flight at about 10 pm and did not get to the hotel until midnight despite phone calls etc made by me beforehand. It is false and misleading that you promote on your website that this is an Airport hotel it is no where near the airport!

But it only costs 100 yuan for a private taxi. After reading other reviews my suggestion is to just not worry about the airport to hotel shuttle. (the transfer by hotel shuttle from hotel to airport was perfect though). Another issue was the service in the bar. I had ordered the afternoon high tea. I was served with a cup of tea straight away but the cakes and sandwiches did not materialize. Still had to pay a fortune for just one cup of tea though.

But the hotel is quite OK for a short stay before a flight and the hotel staff were quite helpful in organizing a taxi at 4am in the morning (This was pre-booked the previous night because there are no waiting taxis around that early in the morning) The inhouse Fresco Restaurant was actually closed for the night I was there - 18th April. Good thing is that they were taking orders in the bar for the food so I was quite OK. Meal portions were quite reasonable.

Then looking for the exit gate No.16 (if you can't find it, just ask someone around) 3. Then go out, and cross the road to the second footpath. 4. Just stand there and wait. No need find the van, because it will come on time. (Ex. 13:58 - 14:01) 5. If you can't find it, just call the hotel. 6. Shuttle will take around 20-30mins to hotel. 7. Van will come every hour. 8. Van outside is coverd by Holiday Inn poster (van in white, poster is green) 9. Have a nice trip. A hotel is good to stay. Superb new and clean.
- Ido (6/5): Terrible location and total kindergarten - The hotel itself is ok because it's new but the maintenance is terrible. The restroom at lobby got urine everywhere from the toilet to the ground - it was probably caused by the kids but no cleaner tried to deal with it. At the meantime, the hotel is far away from the airport, about 25min drive (from airport to city centre is around 40-45min drive). And it is very inconvenient to go to the city, the taxi company refused us and not even in uber's service area. The reception tried to sell us some private driver from nearby neighbourhood for 300rmb, which was almost the price of hotel room.

Super nice. Rest of signs in Chinese. 4th floor is rooms and has security 24 hours, room is small, old, but usable. 3rd & 5th are massage parlors. DO NOT ASK FOR MASSAGE Unless you want the Happy Ending. Every time i passed the floors doors would open and ladies would offer. Game Room on 5th Floor is only a waiting room for girls. No Pool or usable items.

- David (10/5): Great Stay. Free Airport Shuttle - A quick note on how to get to the shuttle when arriving at the airport. I went up the escalator by the exit which took me to the food and check in area. There are "gates" (or exits) around the perimeter. Look for gate 16 at one of the far corners. The shuttle was a small van which comes on the top of the hour from 7:00am-midnight. Stand on the median as the shuttle will stop on the far street rather than the one closest to the doors. It says Holiday-Inn in small letters so be alert. Overall the stay was great. Fantastic value and one of the best rooms I've stayed at. I was only there overnight due to a long layover. Comfy bed, spacious room, and the bathroom had a shower and separate tub. Highly recommend staying here. The shuttle takes a bit (20 mins?) to get to the hotel as it is not necessarily right next to the airport.I will definitely stay here next time I'm in town and hope I have time to take the train from the airport to Canton Tower.
- Wai Shan Anita (10/5): 5 star hotel in service and facilities provide - Holiday Inn Airport Guangzhou is above the level of standard set in Holiday Inn itself, only matter is this hotel is pretty far from everywhere. Other than this matter, everything is thumbs up, staff service are all direction from coneige, reception, restaurant , maybe not total convenience for english speaker. As a half Chinese, I find I am totally comfortable for their arraignment during the special season in Canton Fair. One further things want to mentioned here, is appreciate their restaurant chef service as one of my colleague are veggie, they special make for him breakfast and dinner buffet a veggie noodle, just 1 dish for him whenever we request. Thanks a lot for their service and foods in buffets are good quality too.

My first stay, the taxi drove me around for two hours and tried to scam me, when the trip takes less than 20 minutes from the airport and should cost no more than RMB 25. He tried to charge me 100. I refused to pay anything, and the hotel settled with him for 50 (I got them on the phone, and they gave poor directions to the cab after we'd been driving around for an hour.) The hotel is nice, the staff are good; I'm not fond of the restaurant, I found the staff their abrupt, and the food is average. There are NO suitable food establishments nearby, however; the area is new and not yet well developed. Breakfast at the restaurant was fine, though.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommend for proximity, and economic stay - It was difficult to get a taxi to go to that specific Hoilday Inn (but that was more an issue with taxis wanting to overcharge). The drive to the hotel is a bit dark and seemingly remote but after about 20 minutes you appear in a little town which has alot of condos and little local shops. The Holiday Inn is in the middle of all of this and the hotel itself is magnificent from the outside and the lobby and the rooms just as impressive. the staff are very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was okay, you have more than enough choice to find something. There is also a free shuttle to Guangzhou airport which leaves every hour so thats convenient. I would recommend this hotel if you wanna stay relatively close to the airport for one night and pay a decent rate. There is also a free shuttle from the airport but I had a bit of trouble finding it so took the taxi in the end. (Apparently in domestic terminal 2, stop 15)

It's a decent holiday inn with comfortable rooms but it isn't very close to the airport, although they claim to be an airport hotel. Nothing in the surrounding neighborhood either. On the positive side there is a free hourly shuttle to the airport every hour on the dot.

- Verified traveler (8/5): It's clean and the price is affordable - This hotel is very close to the airport. The hotel is very clean, but the breakfast was a bit overpriced for what it has to offer. The rooms are roomy and comfortable. The staff is quite friendly. It has a shuttle that go from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. However, you must look out for it. It is super on time, it is better if you go to Airport Exit 16 5 -10 mins before the hour to wait for the shuttle. The shuttle, however, does not take the highway to the airport, but local roads, so it takes 30 mins instead of 10 mins if you use the shuttle. You can then take the subway all the way to the city, which is about an hour. At that price that I paid, I think it is quite ok.

It is clean, comfortable and has the unusual feature of being as nice in person as in the promotional photos. The neighborhood also seems to be newly constructed, and not finished yet. Across the street is a shopping and dining development about to open. We would love to stay there again.

My only complaint is the 2 hours between airport shuttles. the hotel is not very close to the airport either, the name is a bit misleading. It has no metro access near by either which limits ones ability to get around Guangzhou. Over all, the staff was friendly and the rooms were very nice and the breakfast was great. I would stay here again if I wanted somewhere to be comfortable, but not for an airport layover.

There is nothing to do there and taxis are far and few in between. I enjoyed my stay in the hotel. The price is very cheap considering all the amenities and the newness of the hotel. Everything about the hotel is good. I love the Chinese Restaurant, the hotel. I appreciated the service of a few staff - not all. I was coming in alone at midnight and requested for airport shuttle - they did not really help. The more I think how far the area is and how remote, I don't think I will ever stay in this hotel again. I was practically "hotel arrest". Nowhere to go.....

- Kenneth W (10/5): Great Layover Hotel - Guangzhou, China - It was very brief time as I was flying out the next morning. The hotel staff and accommodations were excellent. Near the airport and with shuttle service to and from the airport. Which is good as on arriving, I was not aware of this and took a taxi. That is a story in itself. :-( Do not use taxi service. Definitely will stay here again.
