- Barb (6/5): - The front staff who checked us in was pretty rude - Didn’t smile, seemed bored and short tempered. The room was fairly clean but tired and beat up. Hotel is convenient to a lot of restaurants and the college. Would probably try a different hotel if we come through again.

They even packed a couple of delicious cinnamon rolls for me to go and "saran-wrapped" the package to keep the rolls fresh. - Jeffrey (8/5): Way overpriced for my visit, but that was my fault - It's an old hotel, with very nice updates. Climate control was not the best, but the weather probably didn't help. Had to run heat in the AM, A/C in the PM. The bed - not sure if it was me, or the mattress, but I did not sleep well. The tub looked dirty, but it had those built in non-slip patterns in the bottom, that probably don't come clean. GREAT water pressure, and plenty of hot water. The staff was very friendly, and helpful. Even the maintenance guy was friendly and out going. Breakfast was pretty darn good, but not a lot of variety. The location can not be beat - multiple restaurant choices within a short distance, Starbucks on the same street, and a nearby Walmart, Target, and Sams. The TV was pretty small, and there was no channel guide on the TV - they handed me a small printout of the channels when I checked in. Had to have my key re-coded 3 times, due to putting in my pocket with my phone/airpods. There should be a way to access the rooms with my phone. There was not a single USB charge port in the room - luckily, I always travel with my own. Overall, I would stay here again, and not make my reservations for the wrong dates again. Pricing was much more reasonable that way. I was in town for events at the Worldwide Raceway, which greatly increased the room prices when I realized I had reserved the wrong dates originally.
- WATKISS (1/5): Worst 2 nights in a hotel - Location Hotel room(check in)was not ready by 4:00 pm. We were given a late check-in, we arrived at the hotel at 3:45 pm to check in. We did not get into a room until 4:40 pm. The guest restrooms near the lobby were not clean. Intoxicated guests kept us up all night. We even changed rooms at 12:30 am on our first night hoping to get away from the noise. We stayed 2 nights, both nights experiencing the same scenario; loud, rude, intoxicated adults. Our room faced the front of the hotel. The intoxicated guests carried their party outside the front of the hotel at about 1:30 am smoking choice substances. When the air conditioner kicked on in our room, our room filled with the smell of those choice substances. We left(checked out) of the hotel by 5:00 am due to continued loud, intoxicated guests outside the front of the hotel at 4:00 am.

- robbinek2025 (10/5): Best service - The best sleep I’ve had in a long time. I don’t know what it was about the beds, maybe it was the mattress or comforter or pillows or all of it together. The kitchen staff were so accommodating, and Tiffany front desk woman always treats us well. We’ve been coming to the Holiday Inn express, Edwardsville, for the last 10 years and always get the best service from the whole entire team.

- Lowerbroad (4/5): Ok, just not OK enough.. - Sorry, HIX, but did not get the great feeling. Stayed two nights. Let me say the staff was wonderful, pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was also very good. Thank you! The room, king/standard, was not great. Furnishings should be renewed and the mattress was unacceptable. Please replace this. Location is great. I’ve stayed man times at HIX. A good nights sleep is the most important to me, and a comfortable room, so I’ll probably check other options when in the area next.

- Abby (2/5): - Worst check in experience at a hotel in a long time. The receptionist was rude and condescending. We were given the wrong type of room and then asked why we needed two beds anyway? She wanted to know the first and last name of everyone staying in the room and said it was protocol to get an id or license from every person. We will not stay here again.

- Therankoutsider (10/5): Absolutely fantastic service - We stayed here from England for a week whilst here for daughter’s graduation at SIUE. The service was top notch from start to finish. The staff could not do enough for us. The room was ready early. Very clean and nice rooms. Breakfast was good. The girls on the desk were amazing. For example, I chipped a front tooth crown, the girls rang round for emergency dental appointment. They allowed us to make cups of tea throughout the day at no charge. They recommended trail walks nearby(fantastic), recommended restaurants, and printed our boarding passes out. They also let us have a late check out at no extra charge as our flight was an evening flight. Overall this was an excellent stay and when we are next over this will be our first choice. After we had to check out and we were waiting for the car to be fix the staff let us hang out in the lobby and really made us feel welcome to stay as long as we needed.
