• Kate (10/5): Easy, comfortable space that allowed us to walk around safely and explore the town with ease - I had to keep extending my stay and they were more than accommodating. The only strange thing is the street side windows are like a window inside a window and the none street window open up to the rest of the guests. I like fresh air when I sleep - honestly I’m just trying to find things I didn’t like but it’s wasn’t a big deal at all.

• Kate (10/5): We stayed almost 2 weeks and we 100% will come back. It’s the perfect location. Walk to sites, restaurants, parks. - I have a medical condition and when I first checked in I thought I would have to leave because the room had stairs and the street felt steep for me to walk up. The front desk man went over and above to find us a room that allowed me to sleep on the lower level and my daughter in the loft. I also paid for parking next door so I could just walk up a ramp and honestly it was absolutely a wonderful stay. It is noisy; however, if you close the shutter it isn’t too bad and we got used to it. It’s only because the police blow whistles here to direct traffic during peak hours. If you’re noise sensitive- buy some earplugs or do what I did and leave the bathroom fan on for white noise.

• Matthias (9/5): - A very nice place with vintage Mexican charme. We liked our room very much - small concessions in comfort are easily outweighed by staying in such a well-kept historic building. All staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant in the basement was great for having fresh, typical breakfast. The central location made it a good starting and meeting point, too.

• Manuel (10/5): - El mejor hotel de la cadena Del Prado. Gran relación calidad/costo. Reservamos una segunda noche en la terraza del alférez pero el mesón nos gustó mucho más.
• Ivonne (10/5): - Fue un viaje familiar, las habitaciones cómodas, mi papá con discapacidad de movilidad y la habitación le funcionó muy bien. Solo tuve que pedir un banquito para que se pudiera bañar. Sería bueno tener la opción de un banco para esos fines, o un adulto mayor que deba bañarse sentado, los pisos son muy resbalosos. De ahí, la camarista muy amable, César de recepción igual. El demás personal de recepción no saludan siempre están en sus celulares.

El lugar es hermoso, cómodo y amplio. Ideal para caminatas al rededor pues todos los restaurantes y lugares de mi interés están cerca :)

• Juan Carlos (10/5): Muy buena estancia. - La ubicación del hotel es excelente, a una cuadra del parque central. Algunas personas se quejan de que hay ruido en un bar cercano y que eso no los dejó descansar. Sin embargo, no fue nuestro caso, por la noche no se oía ninguna bulla y pudimos dormir sin complicaciones. La señorita que se encuentra por la mañana en la recepción fue muy amable. Además, entregaron la factura de forma rápida en cuanto envié mis datos y constancia. Espero quedarme en otra ocasión que viaje a Xalapa.

• MIXTLITZIN (4/5): - Es un hotel sencillo, aparentemente todo se ve muy limpio, pero les urge tener un buen sistema de fumigación, por suerte solo estuvimos 1 noche, no pude pegar el ojo obvio ni descansar, ya que había cucarachas, llegamoss a dormir despues de una boda a las 3:30am, matamos como 5 y seguían saliendo, entonces fue una pésima noche, nos metimos a bañar a las 7am y salimos de ahí. En la parte de abajo esta el restaurante del hotel que huele muy rico, pero si aparecen las cucarachas en las habitaciones, me imagino como estarán las cucarachas en la cocina, nos come tó el joven de la recepción que tenía poco que otra clienta se había quejado de lo mismo y tenía poco que habían fumigado, entonces necesitan cambiar a la empresa de fumigadores y hacerlo más seguido.

• Jorge (6/5): Parking nightmare - This hotel's main selling point is the location in downtown, at the same time could be a con due to the traffic congestion. They really need to work on two things, the parking should be included valet or escorting you to find the garage around the corner. Front desk will keep telling you directions but the entrance is not marked. We wasted almost half hour trying to follow those stupid directions going around those blocks in that traffic. Also, the room doors are so old/historical that the locks do not always work. We went to bed only to realize in the morning the door was unlocked. Meaning that the lock did not properly latch all the way. They should put modern locks or some other way to ensure privacy/safety. Imagine a woman traveling alone, could not be completely safe.

• Pau (10/5): Nice downtown hotel - It is a great hotel in an old downtown building, it is 3 minutes from Xalapa's Downtown and there are a lot of restaurants and stuff to see around. The Restaurant and the rooms are great quality and really cosy It is in a high hill, so for old people could be difficult to arrive. But that is the location constrain, nothing to do with the hotel.

• Ronald (10/5): - El Meson is a quaint basic little hotel. It’s centrally situated at the south of el Centro and convenient to the city. It’s a bit rustic but very nice. In the lower level is a restaurant offering a discount to residents. It offers clean rooms, shower, daily maid service and friendly staff. If you want basic amenities, I give el meson my top rating.

Pero en la segunda, en el cuarto de junto me tocó una pareja que tenía fiesta, lo reporte y los amonestaron, pero más tarde volvieron a la fiesta y aquello termino como si estuviera en un hotel de paso, no pude dormir en toda la noche.

• Elizabeth (10/5): Great option near centro - Hotel has a great location. The street has a lot of traffic, so if you are sensitive to street sounds this would be something to consider. Bed was comfortable. The front desk was very helpful getting me a taxi when I was leaving.
• Greg (9/5): The room was an inexpensive, comfortable place to stay the night before the Xalapa Marathon. - It was very inexpensive, and the room was cozy and charming. I also liked that it was very close to the marathon starting line, where I needed to go in the morning. There really isn't anything I disliked. I suppose it would have been nice if the room had included a small refrigerator and a microwave oven.

• Barbara (10/5): Historisches Hotel, top Lage, sehr nettes Personal - Ein toller Ort, der viel Geschichte hat. So sind die Zimmer im alten Stil des Hauses gehalten, was dem Hotel auch seinen Charme gibt. Super Lage, mitten im historischen Zentrum. Der Parkplatz in der Garage ist Gold wert. Das Personal ist extrem nett und sehr hilfreich. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt.

• Marco (8/5): Xalapa‘s colonial hotel! - Old colonial style building in the heart of Xalapa. All rooms have different names and the explication on the room’s door. Safe free parking (24/7) nearby. It can get noisy due to the location in the city center.

• Martín (10/5): Need new safe lockers. Good overall. - Location, room, bed, bedding, clean. The safe did not work and they have no place for your items at the reception. Service at the restaurant took 30 minutes for scrambled eggs.

• Andre (7/5): Good value, central location, ancient finishes; extremely loud. - The included continental breakfast was excellent and could be supplemented at cost with complete menu. The location was central, close to shops and many restaurants. The hotel is located next to an all night disco terrace; the extremely loud music on weekends goes on until 3:00 am. Bring earplugs. Music still can be heard other nights of the week. The restaurant closes at 4:30 pm. The rooms only face a small courtyard, a light well really. Finishes are ancient but have character.
