- Hannah (5/5): - Close to town centre. We were hoping for a view of the ocean. But all we got was the view of a tree. Quite poor when your paying for one of the most expensive rooms.

Great views to ocean. Complimentary bottle of wine, 2 waters and peanuts and a packet of chips. Staff always amazing with helpful attitude. Good communication. Restaurant downstairs that serves good food. Good hospitality staff. Tv older not smart. Bed a little too firm for me.

- Geraldine (7/5): Great location and friendly staff. - Great location.
- Andreas (7/5): - Meerblick und Lage Altes abgewohntes Hotel aber mit einem gewissen Charme. Bad nur über den Flur erreichbar. Zimmer sehr klein.
- John (1/5): Disappointed. - Nothing. It is an old property. The hotel was closed - only opens late in the week & weekend. Not as suggested. Facilities poor. Room size worse. Everything. At least a bed, a shower but apart from that, basically disgusting.
- The Stamos AI (9/5): nice - The spa and the beach location getting a little old
- Julie (9/5): - The view, the location, the facilities
- carew (9/5): - great location view of ocean obstructed by pine tree
- Nathaniel (10/5): -

- Anita (8/5): Poor service from reception - Great location and had a room that faced the ocean. Perfect for sunrise Rang reception in the morning to say we would arrive after 5pm & provided card details & would be seeking code to access room after hours. Expected to receive code during the day. Texted receptionist close to 5pm same one that texted me earlier asking for code no response. Arrived still no code bistro staff didn’t know anything eventually maintenance guy went to key box my form in there no key. Got key off hook in reception.

- Julie Falcke (5/5): - The bed was extremely uncomfortable - the bed was small and I could feel the springs sticking into my body all night - had a terrible sleep.
- Danielle (10/5): -
- Geoff (7/5): Fun - Location and ease of parking Slightly old but due to close
- Como dreams (6/5): - Very convenient location.
Easy access with lock box for keys Overall, the hotel is old and looking a little shabby. Carpet is dirty. Shower door didn't close properly.
- Barbara (8/5): - Great location. Beautiful old building even if a bit dilapidated. Good vibe. Friendly staff. Helpful too. The proposed expansion next door!
- Peter (7/5): -
- Johanna (7/5): Good value for money, a better bed and it would have been pretty much perfect - Great location
Easy to park
Big rooms
Great shower
Clean & Tidy
Lovely view from the balcony Bed not that comfortable.
- Amy (9/5): - Classy old pub, with a great restaurant downstairs. The bed was comfy and had a large bathroom. The balcony was great to sit and enjoy the complimentary bottle of wine with snacks too. Couldn't fault it
- David (9/5): -
- Nihad (8/5): Nice and uncomplicated, easy parking, well located. Good price for a SPA room. - Nice and uncomplicated, easy parking, well located. Good price for a SPA room. The building is obviously very, very old. We could hear every word our next-door-neighbours were talking even though we had a huge SPA Room. The lack of an elevator is annoying with big pieces of luggage.
- denise (7/5): - The view spa was good Shower drenched the floor too many stairs for our age and to carry luggage up
- Tom (7/5): - Great location, direct view of Victor Harbor, close to the centre of town. Old building with historic charm. Bathroom separate from room, but understandable in very old building.
- Ian (8/5): - The comfortable, it had heating and just on the foreshore, walking distance from all shop 👌 Water on floor and couldn't plug more than 2 thing's into power
- Laif (5/5): - Location and friendly staff The bistro shut at 16:30 hours and the bar closed at 18:00 hours, not what you expect from a pub, in a prime tourist location and unable to get an evening meal on a weekend.
- DeVizio (6/5): - The location was excellent for us. The room and bathroom was old but clean.
- Thomas (10/5): -
- John (5/5): No check comment - Not much to Like Needs a major overhaul
- Rhonda (7/5): Great views - The location and view The restaurant was closed when we were there
- Gavin (9/5): Very nice - Great Loved everything
- Johnston (7/5): -
- Phillip (8/5): Suited our needs for one night - Easy to find, location was spot on and parking close by Bed was a little too soft
- IRINA (8/5): -
- Skye (7/5): Great location. Loved the accomodation and the staff that did the check in. Food was average but not liking the male bar - In the heart of town centre Male bar staff were rude.. Females were nice.. The Asian and the tall working behind the bar I was not a fan of. I get when it gets busy but don’t make patrons feel crap cause of it..
- RichardMarks (10/5): B'day weekend away - Friendly welcome from staff, great size room and location for accommodation, within walking distance to restaurants and attractions & the local shopping centre , we enjoyed the stay the night before so we booked a 2nd night 😁 N/A
- Walford (8/5): -
- RichardMarks (10/5): Easter stay a the anchorage - Location, reception staff very welcoming as we entered and very friendly, close to everything within walking distance N/a
- Sally (5/5): -
- Thomas Leonsius (4/5): - The hotel itself had a bad smell and the room as well.
- Reinier (9/5): - Leuke sfeer, leuke omgeving Niets
- Mark (8/5): -
- RichardMarks (10/5): Sweet stay at the anchorage hotel Victor harbor - Location is great a stone throw from the water, great size room for a couple, spa bath was wonderful, close to alot of things, stay was that good we stayed a second night 😁 N/a
- Kim (8/5): Friendly comfortable stay - Friendly staff, great location (walking distance to cafes and restaurants and Granite Island), old building (which I love) but comfortable, room well appointed, we loved our balcony and cookies, easily accessible with parking out the back. Nothing really.
- 549franklinv (2/5): ANCHORAGE BACKPACKERS "HOTEL"?? - Avoid this run down so called "hotel."
A major overhaul has been in the planning stages for years, however nothing has happened.
It should be condemned by the local council.
A total blight on Victor Harbor tourism!!!!!!!!!
- Kylie (3/5): Was ok, but wouldn’t stay again - Location Tree block view
Shower was terrible - no pressure whatsoever
Creaking hallways
Thin walls
- eric (9/5): only stayed one night nice location and an excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant -
- Jill (9/5): -
- Dalliet (8/5): - Overall good location and the room was great. Luckily was in a room without dirext neigbhouring ones but even a tv not too loud can be heard through the walls. Some rooms have a nice little balcony. Electric heater not working.
The private balcony while a nice addition was in front of another room window which isnt good for both parties regarding privacy and comfort. This id thr most impactful problem.
- Andrea (1/5): Old world charm that needs desperate renovating and a good clean. - Location The room was a bad condition, dirty, smelly carpet, damaged walls, mold on ceiling, bathroom had issues, could t close shower door and room smelled of sewer. We paid for a room with a view and did not get it. Also the room did not look like the photo on the website when booking.
- Grima (1/5): - Nothing, we refused to stay there Dark, dinghy, not clean, felt unsafe
- Tim (7/5): Lovely stay - Brilliant locations great view and love a pub stay A bit tired but that’s a country pub
- Julie (5/5): Clean and good location - Location was great for access to places in the area. and the room was clean and comfortable. The property is dated and walls and ceilings are thin so that noise above us and either side of us was a problem
- Coulthard (9/5): Great location, friendly staff and good value - Great time, especially the band on Sunday arvo.
- Kathryn (8/5): I will return. - Great location as it was walking distance to most places of interest & views of the water & park were lovely. Complimentary wine was an added bonus. This is an older venue & there are plans for new accommodation next door starting 2027. At the moment don’t expect a 4 star room. The bed is a little firm, but you get used to it.
- Irene (8/5): -
- Helena (8/5): Bedagad skönhet - Läge Slitet
- John (8/5): - In this heritage building we had a great sleep, the balcony looked out over the sea.
The hotel is located on the beachfront with lots of sea air and walking distance to all the main attractions of Victor Harbour. Breakfast and coffee available on site would have been great.
- Joannes (5/5): - Staff wsa very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, close to the centre of town and all amenities. No chairs and table in the room. Sitting on the bed was the only option. However, I picked up 2 chairs from the lounge and took them to my room. They advertise that Wifi is present in all rooms. It is not and the staff told me that the thick walls caused this. This is a joke, simply add a couple of Wifi boosters, but that may be too expensive?
- Wendy (10/5): I would recommend this place to others - I liked the location, the staff were great and accommodating. Place was easy to find
- Cal (10/5): -
- Tammy (3/5): -
- Hughes (7/5): - Quiet and good location Bit old and creeky
- Melanie (4/5): Don’t bother until they renovate - Great location, helpful staff This property is beyond tired. We stayed there in the early 2000s and it doesn’t look like any money has been spent on it since. Everything is worn and shabby. They confused our booking and so we got a ‘heritage’ room on the first night. Heritage = Bates motel. The staff were very apologetic and gave us a refund on the room and a bottle of wine but they shouldn’t even have rooms that dodgy in this day and age. No aircon, 1960s bathroom… wow. Suggest the group that owns this property should be ashamed of offering g such poorly maintained accommodation in such a wonderful location.
- Roxanne (9/5): - The room was lld n characteristic The sun set in the wrong place
- Marie (10/5): - Great location, good value
- Emily (10/5): Charming and relaxing - Gorgeous old motel oozing charm and character. Staff were amazing. Our room was spotlessly clean and the location is fabulous. We will recommend to others and would definitely stay there again.
- chris (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Paul (6/5): - Location, location Basic, but very clean
- kira-lee (5/5): - Great location Very old needs to be updated with renovations
- Gemma (6/5): Great location, extremely basic budget room. - The location is excellent. It’s very tired, has great potential but is very basic, even more so than the photos show. Matress is very thin. Also found the walls very thin could hear others walking around and their tv. Also found it very odd that there were no staff on site after 4.30 and no food or drinks available as bistro was closed.
- Christopher (9/5): -
- Ewa (9/5): Felt like in old time movie but with all the necessities - Location is fantastic, lucky to have access to the balcony with beautiful views of the water and granite island . Very close to attractions and shops too.
Has a feel of times gone by which was great experience for us. Yes it’s old school but it’s clean and the atmosphere is wonderful The carpeting could be newer.
- Troy (8/5): - Location Separate bathroom and squeaky floors.
