- Scott (9/5): We would love to return here someday! - Wonderful hotel! Attentive and friendly staff. Serene room with a beautiful view across the water. Amazing food! Lovely private open-air baths with views across the water. Comfortable beds and pillows. :) Building construction next door was a bit noisy at times, but it didn’t last long.

- Michael (10/5): Absolute luxury at an exceptional location. - What an amazing hotel! We are so fortunate to have been able to stay here. The view from our balcony was absolutely magical, the room was generously sized & the food was exceptional. The staff were incredibly kind & helpful - my wife was unwell for two days & the staff kindly served our meals in our room. We enjoyed a massage & facial as well as multiple visits to the rooftop onsen. Overall, a magical vacation at Hyakunagaran, I would gladly return & encourage anyone to stay at this wonderful place. Thank you!
- Miranda (10/5): Will definitely stay there again for the spectacular view from the room. - Spectacular view, friendly and professional staff, and amazing hot bath at the rooftop. A great sanctuary to step away from all the busyness, and to be relaxed. The ceiling around the AC unit looks really bad, with paint chipped and yellowed. There are tiny hole and marking on the wall nearby thr entry way when we get into the room, it brings down the value of the facility.
- Marc (9/5): Highly recommended for relaxation. - Everything is top notch.
- CHUNG LING (10/5): -
- Anthony (10/5): Excellent spot - Great location, Beautiful buildings, excellent food, private onsens, wonderful service

- lynette (10/5): A beautiful luxurious stay - A gorgeous property, with friendly helpful staff

- Rick (10/5): Hyakunagaran offers serene luxury even if the price is a bit steep. - Hyakunagaran is pure serenity. Their service is impeccable and genuinely kind, creating an atmosphere of total relaxation.
The room was incredibly spacious, elegant, and beautifully designed to showcase the ocean view — a perfect blend of luxury and tranquility. Every corner felt thoughtfully curated for comfort and peace.
Breakfast was an absolute highlight — fresh, flavorful, and exquisitely presented. Each dish reflected the essence of Okinawan ingredients and artistry.
The private onsen cottages were an absolute highlight, offering a peaceful and intimate way to unwind.
Hyakunagaran is more than a hotel; it’s an experience of calm, beauty, and world-class hospitality. I left feeling completely rejuvenated and can’t wait to return! While the price was on the steeper side, the experience, service, and tranquility made it worth every yen.
- sebastian (10/5): Absolutely loved our stay...such a special place - Everything, the staff, the location, the restaurant, the view...glorious Nothing, it was perfect
- Alessia (10/5): Soggiorno Fantastico - Struttura stupenda immersa nella natura
- Elisa (10/5): - Super gelegen (Mibaru Beach). Ein bisschen weit entfernt von Sehenswürdigkeiten. Küche phänomenal.
- Bogdan (10/5): - Every part of our stay at Hyakuna Garan was memorable. This is a place where thoughtfulness shows in every detail—from the serene design to the incredible staff who were consistently kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere was deeply relaxing, making it easy to disconnect and fully enjoy the experience.
The food exceeded all expectations. It was much better than I anticipated from the online reviews. Every meal featured incredibly fresh ingredients and a well-balanced mix of Okinawan dishes. Dining here became one of the highlights of our stay.
The open-air baths were easy to use, beautifully maintained, and added a special, calming rhythm to each day.
If you’re considering Hyakuna Garan, don’t hesitate. Splurge on at least 1-2 nights—you won’t regret it.
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dimitri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francis (8/5): Very good - gastronomic diner and typical japonese breakfast limited outdoor spaces and facilities
- Yunju (9/5): Superb -
- Kun-Han (10/5): - Save this place for something special.
It's the "hotel" of magic!!
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Alan (8/5): Lovely facility, lovely staff. - Beautiful buildings, interiors, lovely rooftop bath cabanas, friendly staff. Food good, not always brilliant. Some of the food.
- Jingchuan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sahil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margherita (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Traveler (9/5): Beautiful but a bit used. - Great view. Very good food. We had super nice presidential suite. (A bit used ) The property is a bit old . There are some parts that shall be changed upgraded . The owner shall invest money in order to have high standard and not destroyed parts with this cost . I did not liked that we did not get breakfast when leaving the property (early morning) with such a price and statement that this is 1 of top world hotels by Forbes 23 it was very disappointing . The beach is very small and in my opinion they shall take off the stones at the entrance to the water.
It is not clear how they charge massage : the price agreed was 11.000 and first day they have charged 11.000 and then the next day they have charged without saying : 12.500 ? Why no explanation .
Same with yoga : price for the instructor agreed 8.000 and the next day when we came 3 persons the price went up to 12.000( why ? If it was my private instructor ) ? No information in advance and explanation .
- Tse (10/5): Exquisite - Hyakuna Garan is a beautiful gem, slightly quirky yet delightful. Set off a cliff (the lobby is on the 3rd level), the cliff face is lushly landscaped with trees and plants growing among a few large Ghibli-esque statues. The public areas are wonderful with glass panels allowing viewing of the "Ghibli" landscape on the cliff side and offering open views of the ocean on the other side. The resort is carefully built around mature banyan trees and is entirely constructed out of natural wood, limestone and marble. The open air baths are a major delight - very private with the outdoor bath, great views of the sea and deck chairs for restful and quiet contemplation. Each bath pavilion is individually named, with the Kanji character for "Hermitage" which is both quaint and apt. The food is excellent - the intricate Kaiseki style dinners are the highlight of the day. Hyakuna has staff speaking fluent English which is a major convenience for foreign guests. We hardly ventured out of the resort during the 3 days there. Overall we appreciated the peace, quiet and solitude - even though the resort was probably well booked during our stay. None
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Greg0ry (10/5): Fantastic Boutique Stay - We travel frequently & have stayed at many accommodations. This is up there with the best.
Location overlooking the ocean. Large room with balcony is excellent.
Bathroom with ocean views.
Private rooftop bath area was unique.
Staff so helpful.
Food amazing.
- Stanley (10/5): You’ll find more staff than guests there. Perfect place to de-stress. -
- Abdullah (10/5): Perfect place to relax and recharge. - Everything. The journey/drive to Hyakunagaran from the airport. From entering the carpark, the welcoming staff, the reception and the 86sqm room with 2x queen size bed each right up to the roof top bath. These are the best physical spaces we did not expect (booked with only limited info). Importantly both wife and I were so relaxed that we will be back. What didn't I like? No having more time there in Okinawa.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rene (9/5): Secluded wellness - Extremely friendly staff and a very pleasant stay in general. The rooms are nice and everything is clean and spacious. The staff really tries everything to realise your wishes. Proper 5 star service. The little remote area protects you from bigger tourism groups and there is a nice cafe just next to the hotel in the hills. Just had some minor issues in communicating the details of my stay but the staff speaks english. May have been better if my japanese was better though. And the beach part of the hotel had more stones and shells than i would have expected from the pictures.
- Miranda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maxime (10/5): Exceptional - Everything perfect
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Gene (10/5): - Amazing place for relaxation and getting away! Five stars doesn’t do it justice, would give it ten stars! The meals were out of this world. Highly recommend the Hakuin suite.
- Aneesha (9/5): Lovely rustic boutique hotel , great for rest and relaxation - Rooms are fantastic , bathroom is superb, outstanding view.
Breakfast and dinner was also superb
Authentic Japanese hotel Lacks some attention to detail in the service but this comes from senior management. Staff were lovely though
- Risa (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent ocean view.
Private Hot spring.
Many places to explore inside the venue.
Very quiet and private hotel. Food is ok.
- Ckwong (10/5): Too much heaven - Superb sublime hotel. A paradise on earth. 10 for reception, 10 for room, 10 for bathroom & WC, 10 for staff, 10 for open air onsens, 10 for views, 10 for restaurant, 10 for maid service, 10 for the sound of the sea, 10 for ambience, and more. Sometimes it’s so quiet/deserted you think it’s The Overlook from The Shining?!
- Ségolène (10/5): Amazing! - The room was great, view on the sea side. Very clean, very comfortable. The food was great! I also recommend facial at the spa that was very nice.
- Angela (10/5): A wonderful stay…..Congratulations on running a great hotel - The architecture, location, staff and food couldn’t have been any better nothing to improve
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location, very lovely and helpful staff, and an amazing selection of food, their sashimi was 🥹
- Sampa (10/5): Fabulous. Wish we had stayed longer. - Loved everything. Total luxury in every way.
- Man (9/5): a perfect place for retreat and enjoy the stunning seaview - clean and quiet. nicely designed, delicious dinner, very helpful and friendly staff
- Hyejin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Antony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vassilen (10/5): If you can just visit - Greay please to reset and recharge. relatively old property but maintained very well
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
