• emmasp31 (10/5): Great price-performance-ratio - Dolphin Bungalow is the perfect place for everyone who is looking for a place to enjoy one of Koh Phangan’s most beautiful beaches. It‘s no party area, but great for families, couples or friends who want to relax. It’s located directly on the beach. The bungalows are simple, but clean - a very good price-performance ratio. Every bungalow has its own terrace with hammock. Probably you will find a few insects in your room - you can avoid it by not turning on the light when it’s dark outside. Otherwise there is a mosquito net. :) The beach area is beautiful, there are hammocks and beach chairs. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner at the resort. Furthermore there a many possibilities to eat at restaurants nearby (f.e. Longtail Beach Resort, food street). We stayed here for 5 days and would highly recommend it. We will come again soon!

• Allers22 (10/5): Peaceful Setting in TNP - What a beautiful surrounding to call home for a few nights! This bungalow is one of the best I’ve stayed in on the island. It has AC, a great shower, comfy bed, and a little sitting room. Oh, and a lovely little porch with a hammock too! Perhaps due to low season and being set a bit further back from the beach, we paid 800 baht per night. The setting here is lush, green, stunning, and leads right to the beach. The management was kind and helpful with local information. We didn’t dine in the restaurant but it has a happy vibe. Overall, a great experience.
• ALMoon (2/5): 5 night stay - The hotel is charming and the food good but the rooms are awful, they are basic and clean but very dark, no where to hang or put anything. Bed linen shocking, stains and holes in. Pillows dreadful. Staff are nice but everything needs a shake up and a tidy!
• Verified traveler (6/5): Erster Blick: Hui. Zweiter Blick: Pfui - Der erste Eindruck war super! Eine wunderschöne Anlage, fast wie ein kleiner, tropischer Wald direkt am Strand, in dem vereinzelte Bungalows stehen. Der sehr schöne Strand ist direkt zugänglich und das Wasser glasklar. Auch die Bungalows auf den ersten blick wirklich schön, mit Hängematte und gemütlichen, überdachten, Sitzgelegenheiten vor jeder Hütte. Dem Preis entsprechend darf man natürlich nicht wirklich eine Luxus-Unterkunft erwarten. Es war eben ein kleiner Raum mit Bett, Bad und Deckenventilator. Achja, eine Klimaanlage gibt es auch, aber die wird nur „freigeschaltet“ wenn man zusätzlich knapp 18 Euro am Tag zahlt, was genauso viel gewesen wäre, wie wir zu zweit für die ganze Übernachtung gezahlt haben - also sehr teuer (Und glaubt mir, in Thailand wollt ihr eine Klimaanlage zum schlafen haben, vorallem in den nicht gedämmten Holzbungalows.) Bad war dafür soweit in Ordnung, aber einen wirklichen Room-Services gab es nicht. Der Mülleimer quoll irgendwann über und neues Klopapier mussten wir uns dann selbst an der Reception holen. Zu Guter Letzt das Bett: Erwartet haben wir ja nicht viel, aber das ein Bett so hart sein kann hat uns dann doch überrascht, ebenso die Kissen. Außerdem waren die Laken seeehr schmutzig (alte Flecken, einige sahen auch nach Blut aus.) und das Moskitonetz hatte doch einige Löcher. Unser Fazit: für Rucksack-Touris, die nur ein bis zwei Tage bleiben, passt die Unterkunft schon. Längere Aufenthalte würde ich aber vermeiden.
• Lily (10/5): Relaxing stay - Dolphin Bungalows exceeded my expectations. Looks way better than the photos!! We travelled to Koh Phangan for an event that was cancelled after arrival, so we spent 3 days here. The bungalows are lovely and the beach is beautiful. The food is pricey at the Bungalows and along the beach but there is a small stretch of market stalls selling delicious Thai food for 50-100baht on the Main Street. There is also not a lot to do on this quieter side of the island and like most islands prepare to pay a ridiculously inflated price for taxis (like 600baht for 15 minutes). If you are planning on doing more than relaxing on the beach I highly recommend hiring a car or motorbike, will work out much cheaper. Overall, we loved our stay and Dolphin Bunglows was great. Expect higher prices in Koh Phangan and make sure you check out the map and plan what you want to do ahead.

• 108jonask (8/5): Backpacking romantic - The huts are surrounded by a lovely tropical garden. It feels like living in the jungle. You are looking for cheap backpacking romantic: This is probably the best choice in the bay. The huts are simple and clean and well equipped for backpackers. Totally worth the money! So why not five stars? Unfortunately the restaurant and the waterfront isn‘t that good. Which is really sad because the potential is huge. It looks like it used the be a very very nice place but the best days are expired. The food is ok but not what you‘d expect. I really hope someone will resurrect the restaurant soon. But there are enough good places to eat in the bay so still it is worth it staying at Dolphins.
• Mimsxo (2/5): Rude and threatening management - We had an a/c unit in our room which we were able to get working. On the last night a male member of management banged on the door and demanded money for using the a/c. We said we thought it was broke it and we were able to get it fixed. He demanded that we either pay the money for using the a/c, get out immediately and if we refused he would call the police. Very scary.
• Marine (8/5): Un beau séjour, une plage magnifique - Points +: la plage magnifique à côté des bungalows, super sable et eau cristalline! La propreté des bungalow, le petit hamac sur la terrasse. Le calme! Excellent rapport qualité prix. A améliorer: le personnel pourrait être plus accueillant Points négatifs: l'hôtel se situe loin du centre (côté Thong Sala) et donc de la plupart des restaurants. Nous avions loué un scooter pour palier à ce problème. Les routes sont très larges et bien goudronnée (parfois même éclairées). Cela nous a permis de visiter les alentours également!
• Traveler810471 (10/5): A corner of paradise - In the southern and quieter part of Thong Nai Pan Yai, surrounded by a lush and very well kept garden in a nice maze of tiny paths between the bungalows leading to the bar on the beach, it has a wonderfully laid back atmosphere. Staff is very kind and smiling, and gave us an excellent tip for bike rental (just on the opposite side of the road). We had a "fan-hot water" bungalow and it was simple but clean and with everything we needed, including a very useful fridge. The vegetation among bungalows is so luxuriant you can hardly see people in front of you. Food is very good, the range of price is similar to other places around; restaurant closes at 10 pm, but that wasnt an issue: we loved sitting in the dark later at night with a Leo in our hand. If you want a little more bustle you can walk on the beach to other resorts' bars. Nice and harmless dogs around... they might just like a scratch and rest close to you, but that is common all over (if you are afraid, just ignore them, they'll do the same)

• ShannonInVienna (10/5): Excellent budget option on a clean beach - Excellent value for money on a clean little beach. Rooms are spartan but do the trick, with the little porch and onsite restaurant being a plus. When reading reviews, be sure to check the dates - the beach was clean and staff attentive (that seems not to be the case in older reviews). The village had cheaper and more authentic food options (check out the food market stalls in the village, open daily early until late) than Noi, with a bigger, cleaner beach, making it an excellent value. We stayed three weeks.

• jasonrR6735TZ (10/5): Amazing beach bungalows - We stayed here for 4 nights only originally planned to stay 2 night but it was so nice and great value we decided to extend our stay. The bungalows are quaint traditional Thai style, with own bathroom and air-con. They are basic but comfortable and very clean. The bungalows are set in a love dense garden that winds it way down to the restaurant that is right on the beach siting amongst palm trees. The restaurant serves tasty food and is a great place to hang out day or night. The beach it's self is also amazing with soft white sand and clear tropical water, With a good selection of bars and restaurants along the beach.

• Lisa (10/5): Idyllic - It all depends on what you want and need. For me, it’s simplicity and cleanliness so these bamboo bungalows are perfect, sitting in a little piece of quiet paradise set in exquisite well kempt gardens which attracts stunning wildlife. I love the friendly very happy pack of dogs and the staff make me feel at home and very welcome.
• Birgit (6/5): Thing Nai Pan Yai im Feb 2018 - Sehr saubere aablage mit freundlichem Personal, zu unserer Reisezeit allerdings viele Familien mit Kleinkindern, für die der flach abfallende Strand perfekt ist. Wir empfehlen unbedingt einen Besuch des Streetfoodmarkets! Sehr gutes und günstiges Essen!
• Bexx (6/5): Modrige Bungalows mitten im Dschungel am Strand. - Dolphin Bungalows sind in einen kleinen Dschungel eingebettet, was ich persönlich sehr schön fand - Vögelgezwitscher die ganze Zeit, sehr schön grün und die Anlage auch relativ gepflegt! Was nicht so schön ist(für mich persönlich) im Dschungel - die verschiedensten Insekten, die sich natürlich auch in den Bungalows aufhalten. Bei unserer Ankunft hat uns direkt eine riesige Kakerlake an der Wand begrüsst. Was ich persönlich aber noch viel schlimmer empfand, waren die modrigen Bungalows, die einfach krass nach Schimmel gerochen haben - was aber normal sei in dieser Gegend. Wir haben nach 3 Tagen das Bungalow gewechselt und da ging es vom Geruch her. Die Moskitonetze sind leider nicht mehr die neuesten - viele grosse Risse, die natürlich ungebetene Gäste reinlassen, wie Ameisen und Mücken. Bevor man ins Bett steigt, sollte man evtl das Bett inspizieren! Unsere Bungalows hatten weder Schränke noch Aufbewahrungsmöglichkeiten im Bad. Wenn man aber darüber hinweg sehen kann, ist die Lage einfach fantastisch!!!! Nicht mal in 1 min ist man am Strand und geniesst eine tolle Aussicht!!!! Falls ihr günstiger frühstücken wollt, dann einfach nebenan ins Longtail Beach Resort.

• the_calvinator (8/5): Loved it back to basics - A great little place leading directly onto the beach, but if you want mod cons forget it. This is a place to chill and relax, the traditional bungalows have ample space, and were clean and with a comfortable bed. Bathroom was fine just a wet room, and water power fairly decent. Lovely veranda with hammock and chairs. The place is an oasis before hitting the beach they have a nice bar area with tables and chairs and a nice raised cushioned seating area. What stopped it getting a 5 was the food was a little expensive and I whilst the staff were very friendly i think they were quite new and it was a little difficult if you wanted anything more than the basics. But overall loved the place, price was grea.
• Menny203 (10/5): The heaven on Earth - After two weeks wandering in Myanmar and Thailand, the first thaught when we reached the reception of this place, passing through a sort of little and emerald jungle was "we are on heaven". Beautiful place, wonderful beach, awsome food and beverage, extreme relax, very nice people.. do you need more?? Yes. The lowest price on the island. I had always dreamed a place like this. It will be forever on my mind. SIMPLY THE BEST!!

• conorlee8 (10/5): Value at its finest and a slice of paradise. - Staying here 8 nights was nothing but a pleasure. For the lowest rates on, in my opinion, the best beach Thong Nai Pan has to offer. It being the south beach opposed to the north, where more "all inclusive resort" are, the beach was vast both width and length in comparison. The beach had way less people on it then when we took a scooter up to Noi (North) and way less screaming children. I would recommend this beach even if you don't stay at Dolphin. Dolphin was great because of the relaxed atmosphere and the beach front accommodations. Lush and relaxed beach chairs and cushions and a very friendly staff. We opted for a non air-conditioner room for about $15 a night and although hot during the day, night time was very bearable. Lovely porch with a hammock, this I assure you only an idiot would trip over, and if you don't mind animals this place is perfect. There is a lovely dog family we fell in love with and they slept on our porch overnight and greeted us every morning with love and affection. The dogs know not to go inside as well so don't be alarmed. The restaurant had great food but was a little pricy. Perfect if you don't want to go far from the resort though. Again the staff was very friendly and lent us utensils and cups as well as shot glasses when we did not chose to eat their and brought take away food back with us! TIP: next-door is a small bodega that sells the best water for only 10 THB which is a steal in comparison to everywhere else. I would recommend Wisit's Burgers if you wanna go to town and grab a cheap delicious bite as well as the street food market that had generous portions and cheap prices!
• 539kerriv (10/5): All round lovely experienxe - We stayed at Dolphin for four nights and wished we could've stayed longer. The bungalows are excellent value for money with big comfortable beds, wide windows, basic but great bathroom, lovely little porch with comfortable chairs and a hammock. The bungalows feel private thanks to the beautiful garden with huge leaves and flowers. The restaurant is lovely with a great menu, but slightly above our budget so we enjoyed basics such as breakfast, coffee and beers. We loved our breakfasts of delicious porridge and coffee every morning, beers in the evening and all round lovely vibe. We will visit again!
• Calcin (8/5): For the price excellent - Enjoyed our five nights here, price for quality was about right, we stayed in a standard bungalow. There are fairly basic and exactly what we expected. Nice balcony with hammock and seats, it had a large bed, and decent bathroom. The resort has a lovely lay out with bungalows in vegetation as you make your way to the lovely beach. The room was cleaned every couple of days. I get the feeling the present owners are quite new, the staff were friendly and attentive, but did seem a bit lacking in both experience and knowledge. However this had no impact on our stay. I would say if you want a chilled out old style bungalow on the beach this is perfect. Their food was a little pricey but there are plenty of places close by, but a large Chang is only 80 baht!

• billybK947XL (6/5): Lovely Beach But Too Secluded - We stayed at dolphin bungalows for 2 nights and although we enjoyed our stay, we would not stay there again. The bungalows themselves are very nice, the balconies are perfect for spending an evening with a book, but they do get very hot during the day. The beach is ideal, very sandy, lovely peaceful sea & very quiet. However the location of the bungalows is a large issue if you are not planning to hire a bike or a car. It is a 10 minute walk to the nearest town for food / a 711 and much much further to get to the ferry or half moon party. Taxi fares are expensive on Koh Phangan and will quickly add up as many drivers won't want to drop you back as it is so isolated, so you'll be paying premium fees. Otherwise it is a lovely place to stay (especially for a couples beach getaway). The staff are friendly and helpful if you can find them. But I would recommend paying slightly more and staying closer to the centre, probably works out cheaper in the long run anyway.
• William (6/5): Very secluded - The hotel staff were friendly & helpful, but they were unavailable from 3-6 each day, which could cause issues. The bungalows themselves were very nice, and the balcony is ideal for reading & relaxing. The beach is beautiful, very peaceful with clear sea. Unfortunately the resort is very isolated, 10 minutes walk from the nearest town, and a long (and expensive) taxi ride to the pier/half moon party/main part of the island. If planning to rent a car or bike this resort is ideal, if not the taxi fares quickly add up!

• natashag523 (2/5): Lack of customer service; fine if everything is OK, terrible when things go wrong - Dolphin Bungalows offers an authentic experience with basic Bungalows close to the beach. It looks beautiful and is quiet. I think if everything went well, I would rate it 4 stars, however I was one of the unlucky ones and unfortunately I saw the other side of the organization where they were not willing to even help out when I had to be admitted to the hospital due to the hammock on the porch of our bungalow. We arrived here 29, May and booked three nights. However on the first evening I bumped into the shower joint which starts leaking, I'm not talking about dripping water, it started pouring with a serious flow of liters per minute. At that point we tried to reach people, but couldn't. There was someone walking around with a flash light and we tried to explain what was going on. At a certain point I ran agitated outside with the idea of waking up the management since the person walking outside didn't really respond to us. Unfortunately dolphin has a cool setup with a hammock hanging between the door and the stairs which is great for chill out moments, but awful when trying to hurry out of your bungalow. I tripped and fell on the stairs with my nose. An hour later we found the water inlet ourselves and closed it, assuming we can reach manager next day. Woking up next day my head looked terrible. With a broken nose and everything purple. The staff at Dolphin let us know they won't be able to fix the water on a short notice and didn't even try to help us our when we asked for help. We found a hospital and an ambulance picked me up and I left to the hospital. One of the staff members saw the nurses picking me up, just to stand there in front of our porch and watch curiously without even saying anything. Since I had to stay at least one or two days with a severe brain injury and broken nose in the hospital my partner tried to pick up our stuff and cancel our stay. The reaction of the staff was utterly rude and totally indifferent/unresponsive among others telling us no reimbursement was possible for the last night (we didn't mind paying the second night even though we won't be spending the night and will be leaving anyway). We ended up paying everything, I'm glad it wasn't that expensive. I think I should have payed attention when we checked in and the fan was broken, which they couldn't fix. The bar closing without notifying us while we were midst our dinner... We needed to remind then the next day we had to pay for our dinner, which was met with shrugging. I really believed it was just Thai culture. But comparing dolphin to other Bungalows on the island, or comparing the staff to almost everyone I ran into in Thailand I kinda get the feeling that Thai people and especially the ones working in service industry are among the most friendly in the world. So I hope if you stay here, everything goes according to plan and please remove the hammocks. The authentic feeling of the cool hammock doesn't make up for all the problems.
• Verified traveler (10/5): On the beach with a great vibe - Considering it poured with rain the first few days, we still had a great time relaxing in the bar/restaurant area looking straight onto the beach. The food is really good and there is a great vibe. When the weather improved the beach was beautiful and they set out plenty of tables on the beach.

We had an very good duck a l'orange, stuffed chicken with dill cream sauce and also BBQ red snapper. Very pleasant atmosphere, great music, and as a bonus ridiculously fast internet - hard to find around here
• Lucio (10/5): Nice and very relaxing place - The resort is very clean and has a nice jungle athmosphere around the bungalows and a phantastic (Dou is probably the best chef at least on this island) restaurant at the beach. Absolutely recommendable for a nice leisure time.
• Felix (2/5): - Der Bungalow War OK aber das Badezimmer ein grauen. Wollten sofort wieder gehen auch weil der besitzer so arrogant und unfreundlich war. Alleine dort hinzukommen kostet 800 baht zu zweit. Zurück das gleiche nochmal. Unmittelbar neben dEM ekelhaften Klo steht man zum duschen. Saubereits fühlt man sich naCh der kalten dusche nicht. Während alle arbeiten dort liegt der Chef mit seiner Frau Rum und tut nichts. Deren Hund lassen sie auch auf die essenstisChe. Das essen dort selber überteuert. Nie mehr !

• Davide (8/5): Soggiorno selvaggio - Il Dolphins e' il massimo per il relax, i bungalows sono puliti ed accoglienti, fatta eccezione per i bagni, i quali andrebbero migliorati. L'ubicazione è ottima e la viabilità buona, infatti l'isola si gira bene anche in moto (facendo attenzione). Consiglio questa struttura per chi cerca una vacanza romantica ed allo stesso tempo selvaggia.

• Erin (10/5): Great low key bungalow - My favorite place we stayed in Thailand... On a quiet beach in Koh Pagnan. We went for the full moon party spot was a little it of a hike to go back and forth but this place is so worth it. Right on the beach, great food, clean. Definitely not fancy but perfect for someone who wants a little ruggedness in their trip

Quant à la plage...une vrai détente le jour et de la Vie la nuit avec la douceur du climat... Je reviendrai à Dolphin juste pour le plaisir, même si mes pôles d’intérêt se situent au nord-ouest de l'île ! <3

Direkt am wunderbar, weißen Strand, der von allen! sauber gehalten wird. Wir hatten eine ruhige und beschauliche Zeit und können hoffentlich wiederkommen!

• Verified traveler (2/5): kann die guten Bewertungen nicht verstehen - nur die sehr teueren großen Bungalows sind schön.. der Rest ist eher eine ABSOLUT ÜBERTEUERTE Bambushütte. man findet appartments und Hotels die sehr viel besser und günstiger sind. Und das in direkter nähe. Zudem kann ich nur den anderen Strand gegenüber empfehlen. Viel bessere Restaurants und nightlife und der Strand ist viel schöner !!! Absolut keine weiterempfehlung !!!!!!

Aardige mensen, een prachtige baai, heerlijk eten, schattige schone bungalowtjes en een super chille vibe. Het enige nadeel is dat je met de taxi vanaf Haat Rin 300 baht per keer betaalt, dus dat maakt de stap net ietsje groter om 's avonds nog 'even' op pad te gaan. Desalniettemin zeeeeeker een aanrader!

• DULAURENS (6/5): Séjour agréable mais ... - J'avais réservé de Paris une chambre luxe n'en trouvant pas d'autres. A mon arrivée j'ai demandé à rester dans une chambre de niveau inférieur le propriétaire m'a donné son accord. Puis il m'a obligé à changer dans la chambre de luxe alors que des bungalows de niveau inférieur étaient libres. En conclusion ne pas se fier et annuler s'il est encore temps après avoir réserver un autre bungalow. Sinon personnel sympathique nourriture excellente.

Personnel sympathique attentionné, cuisine thai très réussie. Pas de piscine mais cela gagne en authenticité et en calme. Musique buddah bar en continu. ... on y retournera...

• Julie (4/5): Confort spartiate et cafards ! - Arrivée la nuit sous la pluie, l'hôtel a eu la gentillesse de nous envoyer un chauffeur pour 2x moins cher comparé aux taxis du port. Sauf que, arrivée sur place, emplacement très éloigné de toute vie, bungalow au confort spartiate, cafard dans la salle de bain. Bref, nous sommes partis le lendemain matin après une nuit courte et agitée !!! Le patron a eu la gentillesse de nous rembourser les nuits restantes. Nous sommes allés ensuite à Haad Rin, la plage de la full moon, beaucoup plus sympa avec des hôtels excellents pour un prix un peu plus élevé mais si vous recherchez la détente en couple, mieux vaut ne pas aller ici.

• klaas (6/5): Nette Anlage leider etwas schmutzig - Nachdem wir in der zweiten Nacht von Insektenstichen (Flöhe oder Bettwanzen) geplagt, am nächsten Morgen um einen Wechsel des Zimmers baten, kam uns der Hotelmanager zunächst nicht entgegen. Wir packten daraufhin die Koffer und wechselten zu einem anderen Resort. Schade, denn die Anlage ist sehr nett und das Restaurant und die Bar sehr liebevoll gestaltet.

Nous avons passés la nuit à nous démenger !!! Nous nous sommes expliqués avec la personne de la reception et aucune solution ne nous a été proposé! Même pas une autre chambre ( alors que le site était desert) Ne vous arrêtez pas au dolphin bungalow
• Verified traveler (8/5): Ruhige Strandbungalows auf Koh Phangan - Während unserer Thailandrundreise sind wir drei Nächte in dieser Unterkunft gewesen. Das direkt am Strand gelegene Hotel war der Beschreibung entsprechend und hat unsere Erwartungen großteils erfüllt. Einzig das Personal konnte unseren Erwartungen nicht nachkommen. Einerseits war nicht richtig erkennbar, wer zum Hotelteam gehörte. Andererseits waren die Mitarbeiter nicht sonderlich geschult, wodurch bei jedem Anliegen der Manager gefragt werden musste, der jedoch kaum zugegen war.
• Stephanie (10/5): Great place for R&R and a stepoff to adventure - This was a wonderful place to stay. The food, home-cooked by mama, was fantastic, and they have both Thai and Western food available (so if you're not gastronomically adventurous, that's perfectly okay!). They'll even adjust the spiciness to suit your tastes. It's a quiet place to spend a few days, and the tours you can book through the Palmview are great! I totally recommend the Lake-Jungle-Cave day tour, because it was the most fun I had on my entire 25 day trip. If you've seen Goonies, it's like being a Goonie for a day ;) There's a real family feel to this place, and if you're looking for somewhere where you can just rest and recharge, I recommend it. Or, if you want to go and hit some reggae bars, it's close enough to the main drag that you can get there on foot. Plus, Khao Sok National Park is a stone's throw away, if you plan on doing some hiking. The beds in our cabin weren't the best, but with all the other amazing stuff this place offers, my friend and I didn't care. The cabin was super clean and the grounds are quiet with beautiful scenery. This place is a jewel.
