Guest Reviews
- Gadi (7/5): -
- Kevin (7/5): ok - đồ ăn sáng quá tệ gần chợ cho nên quá sô bồ
- Seow (6/5): - Generally ok for a short stay
- NGUYEN TUAN ANH (2/5): Do not booking this hotels. - Price on Hotels.com is trible another app. They changed booking ID. Breakfast is bad. Room is old and very small. Welcome to prison.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Dirty old hotel. Cockroaches on the floor, no light in common area. Good central location but in the middle of the fish market
- Hoo (8/5): Outdated outside but comfy - Overall the room was spacious and bedding was very comfortable, spacious bathroom, nice bath tub and the hairdryer worked very well. Great breakfast and there are free bicycles for hotel guests to use. The lobby decor might seem outdated but the rooms were refurbished, clean and comfy. We were served a welcome drink when we arrived and they let us check in early.
Location is very near to the night market and the quay that is the starting point of the floating market excursion. The road to the hotel is a bit hard to manoeuvre as the local market (sells raw meats & veggies) is just below. Our taxi from the airport didn't know how to get here and dropped us 200m from the hotel because the road in front of the main entrance is closed daily from 6am to 6pm. There is actually a back entrance where cars can pass thru.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location staff pool room..............l...l.l.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good customer services. The rooms are clean; the foods are good with good customer services
- Verified traveler (10/5): - excellent staff service, very friendly, room is very clean.
- duke (4/5): - Hotel condition was very poor and customers service was poor as well. I would not stay here again. This hotel is not even a 3 stars rating in my view. So run down
- Pawel (10/5): Great Hotel! - The staff was really helpful! They book a tour for us and they guve us great tips! You can have bikes for free :) And the pool has and amazing view!! I love this place!
- Nicolas (8/5): Great value and fun location - A solid 3 star hotel which could regain 4 star with some updates. The rooftop pool overlooking the city is nice and the location right in the local market is fantastic. Five minute walk to get to the center of town. It’s former luxury can be seen but it’s tired. The staff is nice but there is limited English. The breakfast is OK and the Wi-Fi is a little slow. It’s a great value.
- maggie (10/5): - Fantastic location. Right in middle of true local markets
Great rooftop pool and view and lots of atmosphere
- Bruce (8/5): Close proximity to local shop and Nink Kieu - Very friendly and helpful staffs, willing to assist with all your needs
- Emily (10/5): West Hotel is GREAT! ...but call ahead to confirm - West Hotel is an amazing place to stay. It is in a beautiful part of town, where you can walk out and immediately see a culturally rich street full of freshly caught fish, many types of fruits, not many tourists, and friendly people. The service was amazing as well. We wanted to go to the floating markets, but wanted to take a private boat (instead of a touristy boat), just me and my boyfriend (and the boat driver). West Hotel was able to accommodate this request with flying colors. Not only were they able to get us a friendly boat driver who would take us out at 4:30am until 11:30am, but they had a delicious breakfast ready for us at this time as well. We went to the floating markets, a fruit garden, a noodle factory, and more. It was absolutely wonderful.
The only concern we had while staying at this hotel was nothing to do with West Hotel, but a problem that has been occurring with Hotels.com throughout our two weeks in Vietnam. For every hotel that we've gone to, there's been some sort of issue where the hotel is unable to see our Hotels.com booking because it is not going through from Hotels.com. Luckily, we just show them our booking confirmation once we get there and after waiting about 10 min or so, we are accommodated by the hotel....but Hotels.com really needs to fix this. If the hotels are all booked, they might not have been able to accomodate us. I recommend calling hotels booked through Hotels.com in advance to make sure they are aware of your reservation.
- Holly (4/5): Below average stay - Staff were very helpful, especially the front desk. However we stayed in a room on the fourth floor, I won't say which one specifically, and I noticed when we checked in the window ledge was very grubby, I didn't want to complain at the time as it seemed minor but when it rained it resulted in small dead flies being blown across the room. I wish I'd taken pictures to upload here but when it was at it's worst I did not want the pictures on my phone reminding me. The pool also looked as though it needed a clean, everything else however was in decent condition. I've had better breakfasts though.
Unfortunately although the hotel itself is relatively nice it's on a market street which, as with most Vietnamese markets, smells of fish and sour fruit. Although this is not the hotels fault, just something to consider.
- Yim (8/5): Very helpful staff - The hotel was nice overall but I especially liked the staff of the hotel. Staff at the reception was so nice, smart, friendly and helpful. They helped us solve all our problems and responded to all our requests including recommending restauants which opens till late, booking a boat tour at reasonable price, booking bus tickets back to HCMC and even packing our breakfast for us to take away early in the morni g when we did the boat tour.
- michael (6/5): - Bad location close to the night market and that’s the only good thing
- Verified traveler (4/5): Dirty bad ac and charged extra for my wife - Dirty bathroom. Shower didnot close water everywhere. Breakfast was lame. Ac did not cool. When complained, was told we'll make it better next time. Upon check out, not checkin, charged extra 100,000 dong for my wife.
- Rafael (4/5): Poor condition - Hotel is abandoned and in need of attention to its condition. My room was in terrible condition and needs lots of cosmetic work. I have included pictures. However the breakfast was excellent. Covenient location but the market in front smells horrible and is very loud.
- Verified traveler (6/5): West Hotel - Jan 2018 - Hotel decor was garish and although the bed was clean, the room itself hadn't been cleaned properly - I had to wipe the surfaces down myself when I checked it.
- Daniel (8/5): Nice, right at the market - The hotel is right at the market, but despite it being busy the whole day, my room was quiet. Walking distance to the pier, many restaurants. Great, helpful staff, good breakfast, good Wi-Fi.
- Sharon (6/5): - Picture looks better that reality
Corridor are dark , basic rooms
Market is on the street so very busy in the morning
- Alyscia (10/5): Excellent hotel - Great location right off the Delta. Within walking distance to restaurants and markets in a tourist friendly area.
Hotel staff was fabulous. We were able to book a personalized Mekong Delta tour through the front desk. They helped us with bus tickets for our return to Ho Chi Minh City and were nice enough to write out a few phrases for us in Vietnamese for our taxi driver.
The hotel itself was lovely, luxurious and spacious. Would highly recommend!
- justine (8/5): Nice hotel, center of Can Tho, accessible - I had a great stay. I live about two hours away and it was easy to get to. Right by the central market and next to both western and Vietnamese shops, eateries, etc. Walkable to other parts of the town, and the pool was refreshing. Great breakfast, great shower, and very friendly staff. We will stay again.
- tweet (8/5): Ben Ninh Kieu - Convenient and safe, everything is good like a hotel in the state. I will come back next time
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great value in the heart of the night market. Room was clean and spacious. Good variety at breakfast buffet. Can hear traffic a bit on 5th floor. Pool was nice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Convenient location for a boat trip, but dated - The hotel is surrounded by the biggest fish market in Can Tho. Depending on personal views this can be regarded as either a quaint or a busy/dirty location. It is only a 2-min walk from the hotel to the boat dock for tours to the floating market, so that's convenient. Because of the boat tour, we missed breakfast hours, but they provided us with a simple but tasty take away breakfast. The room was comfortable but does not seem to have been updated since the late 1980s and thus also carries an old-hotel-room smell that rather bothered my partner.
The hotel staff were polite and helpful, but don't ask them to arrange an airport pick-up as they'll quote you 3-4 times more than a metered taxi will cost.
- Ryan (8/5): - Very nice hotel. They are trying hard to maintain four stars through extensive remodeling as the property is getting older. Staff was very nice. Breakfest had a large selection of western items. Rooms were quite clean and modern, although furniture was a bit dated. Bathroom was very nice. Pool area and stairs are a bit dangerous and slippery. My wife fell on the stairs due to being slick.
- lay200 (10/5): Great loaction and friendly staff - We stayed for a night in this hotel. All the staff are very friendly. They helped us to rent motorbike, to find tourist guide, to reserve a return bus ticket, to call for taxi without extra charge. They can speak English very well. The hotel also located in front of the market and quay. You can easily catch a boat to Cai Rang floating market from here. We plan to extend another night here but it was fully booked.
- Åne (10/5): Great hotel, good value for the money! - Great hotel, good value for the money!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good for the price of $25 - Roof top terrace was under construction during stay. Beds were extremely squeaky and walls very thin. Could hear beds from other rooms squeaking as well. Breakfast was edible but not something that was very enjoyable. Chairs at breakfast area very uncomfortable. They would not let me bring coffee from breakfast up to my room to enjoy even though I brought my own cup. The breakfast area was not really a nice place to relax and drink coffee in the morning. Pool was nice, had a great view, and open late until 10pm. Hotel surrounded by fish smell though due to the fish street vendors surrounding. Hotel was clean, AC worked well, and water got hot quick.
- Dennis (10/5): - Great hotel excellent staff and servicerecomend
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fine, but ... - Room was splendid - large, well appointed and with lovely river views. I did not try the breakfast due to an early morning boat tour. The service at the reception could have been much better, but by now I have resigned myself to being treated with barely disguised contempt and suspicion, however impeccably and generously I behave, while traveling solo in South East Asia as a person of Indian ethnicity. It is regrettable, but one can't hope to change deeply ingrained attitudes.
- Vic (8/5): Good Hotel right next to the street market - Good Hotel right next to the river and street market and ideal spot to catch a boat to the floating market early in the morning. Luxury and standard of the hotel seems out of place with its immediate, surrounding location but this does not take away what it offers. Pool on the 8th floor has great view and well designed for the space available.
- garry (8/5): Near wet market hotel - The main entrance of the hotel is wet market which is subjective to the traveler, some may like and some not.
Not easy to find taxi, when back hotel, the taxi normally stop at the back door of hotel.
There is swimming pool there but small.
The bed is a bit hard, I personally prefer soft one.
- Jon (6/5): Noisy place, the view from the pool is a highlight - First up, the positives. This hotel is in a decent location close to the river and main Ninh Kien market area, and the main entrance opens on to a chaotic but fun street market selling all kinds of meat, fish, fruit and veg. The real highlight is the view from the 8th floor pool and terrace, down onto the river and for long distances all around - a great place to come for both sunrise and sunset.
However, the pool itself is very shallow and difficult to swim in, and is also pretty chilly - the winds are quite strong up here. The outdoor part of the terrace is very small, with room for 5 sun loungers and not much else. You can also feel like you're in the zoo when hordes of other guests hang around the pool's edge taking photos and selfies, and in Asia they stare at you without remorse.
Breakfast was OK. Elevators are possibly the slowest in the known world.
My real issue with the hotel was the noise. The corridors have no carpets and are thus extremely echoey, and fellow guests showed little regard for this as they shouted conversations with each other at all hours. On top of this, at one end (next to my room, 1008)) is an extraordinarily loud service elevator that operates from pre-dawn to late at night. To add to my woes, there was construction work going on above my room, meaning any hopes of a nap after a 4.30am start (to catch the floating markets in action) were dashed.
Not really the relaxing place I had hoped it would be.
- Peter (10/5): Nice hotel very well placed - The West hotel Can Tho is exceptionally well situated ,very comfortable with lovely rooftop swimming pool. At the moment they are building a rooftop restaurant and bar which when finished will be really something. Our only minor criticism is that for us there is not enough choice for the western style breakfast when you compare it with the choice available for the vietnamese breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): In the heart of the action! - This is a great hotel if you want to explore the local market and it is close to the riverside park. Staff were friendly. The first room they assigned to me was near a local Karaoke Bar and even in the mid afternoon, it was too loud. I asked for a new room and the hotel staff immediately moved me. The room was comfortable and clean. The shower was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. I did hear the market start up around 4:15am, but it was not enough noise to wake me. I think this hotel is a great one for the price. Oh, by the way, breakfast was excellent.
- Thu (8/5): One mistake spoiled the rating. - I am a regular customer and have been staying here for the last 3 years. This year, the West Hotel proves to be excellent as every year, in my opinion, the hotel room although small yet provides great functions such as central electrical panel next to bed where you can turn everything on/off after settling in bed. The best shower head ever (the rain forest style). Mirrors that allow you to do make up in the spacious bathroom and a full length mirror in the room allows dressing fitting before going out. Great.
However, this year, I discovered one thing that really disturbing: my bed sheet was never changed for the full length of my 8 night stay. I checked the 3 yellow stains on my sheet everyday and felt disappointed that I found it again the next day. Only on the 7th night that it was changed (and I hope that it was not intended for the next guest, as I was checking out the next morning). Please, the management checks this with your cleaning staff. This is the utmost important hygene standard that you should never compromised. Everything else of this hotel is lovely.
- Bac (8/5): Clean, comfortable and beautiful view! - Really nice hotel. Building and room is new facing a gorgeous view of the Mekong river. Access to the hotel is limited to street from the rear of the hotel due to the market activities in front. Hotel didn't mention this so our driver got lost for a moment. But still, we enjoyed the stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location near river, clean and modern hotel. - A good stay, convenient location, helpful english-speaking staff. Great pool and bikes available. Plenty of choice at breakfast.
- Michelle (10/5): Great location, great value and very helpful staff - Excellent hotel, we were only there one night, but almost wish we stayed longer, but we had other places to visit. Can Tho in general was much nicer than I was expecting and I was amazed at the lack of traffic. Do not be put off by the market outside
Hotel staff very helpful with onward transportation, making sure that we were picked up from the hotel and we were told to phone if we had any problems getting to our next hotel. We were also given a taxi number to phone once the bus had dropped us off as the drop off was not a bus station.
- Veronica (10/5): Modernised hotel in good location - Don't be put off by being taken to back entrance of the hotel you will understand when you walk out of front entrance. Hotel is in centre of local food market which is bustling. ( no smells from market) Close to the river and night market . Rooms in the hotel are large and certainly the bathroom I had was enormous. Breakfast provided was good, plenty of choice. Vietnamese food and western, freshly cooked eggs although the hash browns and bacon were cold the morning I tried them . Vietnamese and Nescafe coffee was on offer It was good to have the pool but my only criticism of the hotel, was that the pool was not cleaned whilst I was there and the steps in,I felt could have been safer . Altogether though it was a good value comfortable hotel that I would recommend
- Elizabeth (10/5): Location plus comfort - Stayed for 3 nights to take a good look around Can Tho. Perfect location with friendly, English speaking staff. Hotel is immaculate, breakfast was great.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful hotel, excellent location - Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Left too early so couldn't get the breakfast. Room was noisy due to people banging their doors and coming and going all night. Staff fantastic.
- lloyd (8/5): it was pretty good over all - everything was pretty good over all except that hotel was right by the street market so it was little noisy and smelly.
- Steven (6/5): Misleading photo's. Google Map search b4 booking! - I booked this hotel base on the photo's on hotels.com and their description of close to the river etc. But the hotel itself is super hard to find as it is in the centre of a local market which does NOT allow any vehicle traffic from 6am to 6pm. After 6pm, there are lots of transport trucks unloading produces etc for the market, so again it is very hard to get in and out. The main entrance of this hotel is actually the market itself! The only other way to get in is to park on the next street..then through a corridor (which used to be a house but the hotel bought it and made it a corridor) and then past a small alley way and into the underground parking and then to the lobby. Since it is located in the centre of local residence, I can smell cooking of fish sauce etc coming into the room. It is also not close to the Ninh kieu river/parkway either. The only good thing about this hotel are : It is very new, good breakfast and price. when I booked it, the pictures of the hotel on hotels.com didn't even show the market at all (probably photoshopped out) but it showed a clear area and then the river. Well in reality, maybe it will be this way if you bulldoze the market and all the houses around that area. I feel this is very misleading... If I know better, I would stay at the International Hotel which is down the block with a clear riverview/parkway.
- young (8/5): lovely Ninh Kieu - Phuong Trang bus service pick us up from hotel and drove us to Saigon for 100,000 vn dong, this hotel seating right in middle of busy market, if you don't want smell all fish and other products use the back door, but this is how close to the vietnam culture you can get, we enjoy it. In the evening we just walk out in less than 5 minutes, we boarded a "Du Thuyen Can Tho" at Ben Ninh Kieu, excellent food for dinner cruise, we come back second day, remember come about 5pm to reserve top level of the boat, the boat running at 6:30pm,
- johsen lee (10/5): friendly and helpful staff - we need any assistant the staff is very helpful . i strongly recommend this hotel
- paul (8/5): West at Can Tho - The West Hotel lobby is beautiful. Ornate furniture greets you when you enter. The rooms are large and clean with a great bathroom.
However, our whole Mekong Delta experience was very disappointing as the floating markets are nothing near what photos indicate and the boats are all dull and uninspiring.
If you go on a boat do not do the 6 hr trip. The canals of the delta are littered with refuse and all sorts of discarded rubbish. The propellor of the small boat is constantly stopping as has plastic or rope wrapped around it.
When you leave the hotel you walk into another world as the local market is right outside the hotel.
Nigh life is very quiet in Can Tho but they have a great street market where you can purchase lots of local foods.
Lastly, breakfast at this hotel is plentiful but there is no atmosphere and supposedly hot food is only Luke warm and sits there from 6am to 10 am so beware.
Finally, if you are a light sleeper this hotel is not for you as it is fully tiled so you hear every footstep, door banging people talking and the elevator pinging all night.
Pool is shade all day so is refreshing after a day out.
- Tuong Quoc (10/5): - Good I will come back next time. no 3
- John (10/5): Great hotel - good location - friendly service - Fantastic hotel - very friendly service. I would recommend
- John (10/5): Good to stay - Good location, walking in a short distance to Ninh Kieu bay.there are many restaurants, shopping store around. Room is spacious and clean and good decorate . Front destroy helpful and nice
- John (10/5): good hotel to stay - good price, spacious rooms , very nice decorate, front staff friendly, good food compared to hotel price. There are a lot shopping malls and restaurant around, walking in short distance to Ninh Kieu park.
- david (10/5): Good air conditioning - We had a good stay here....staff were great, breakfast was really nice, bed was comfy (although we felt there shoukd be a mattress protector on the bed) , we were up very early for floating markets and the hotel packed our breakfast for us......in all we would recommend a stay here.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel. Just at a local market. Lifts super slow, room smells of plastic. Staff very friendly
- Anon (10/5): Excellent. Won't be disappointed. - Coffee amazing. Staff amazing. Room ultra clean and fresh, location brilliant. Breakfast okay, I don't like it if the miniature croissants are cut in half, and could do with less staff standing to attention while you load your plate!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel. OK location. Could do with maintenance - Hotel is ok. Location is good enough but it not the best location. It's still within walking distance of the happenings around the wharf. It's right where the market is so right in the action.
Small things like windows / cupboard / shower door etc could do with some maintenance though. Otherwise, it is clean and spacious.
- John (10/5): Great hotel - Luxurious hotel, great spacious room, friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Located in a busy street with night markets in action every day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): New hotel, great location, great service, amazing! - We only stayed one night to be able to go to the Mekong Delta River Market tour. Wish we had stayed longer, this was a wonderful hotel. REALLY big rooms, great bed, large bathroom. And everything was CLEAN!!
the hotel only opened a year ago so everything is still brand new, the service was wonderful, very kind and happy to go beyond.
There is good night life a few minutes walk away, the market is at your door step. Great local food shops, if you want to stay away from the typical western/Vietnamese restaurants.
loved our stay!
- Constantin (6/5): Ok for a budget stay - Nice enough but room and general hotel decor was tired and unattractive. Breakfast was limited but ok. Outside fish market made the lobby smell a bit. Pool was small and deck area was tiny, not relaxing at all.
- Allan & Nhu (10/5): West Hotel Review - Nice Hotel. Excellent staff.
Very courteous and considerate employees.
They had someone that could speak English at the front desk.
Many meat dishes for breakfast.
That is great unless you are a vegetarian.
My wife was very happy with the breakfast.
The pool was not big but it was nice, a little cool at first.
Easy to walk to restaurants IF you know how to cross the street in Vietnam.
It was a very enjoyable stay.
- Thu (8/5): Did not disappoint - I stay at this hotel for the last 2 years and am happy to report that It is improving. The room is of good size (especially the huge bathroom, good idea). The drainage problem has been resolved and the market situated at the front of the hotel can be considered a plus (perfect for people watching and sampling all the great fresh fruits Can Tho is famous for).
Good, sincere services from all staffs. The only complaint I have is the room cleaning team should pay more attention to details (clean corners, drains, etc.. a spraying cleaning solution may help). I noticed that my bed sheet was not changed for more than 3 days (I did put the "green" instruction on my bed for several days, but after the sight was no longer there, the team should pick up the clue and change the sheet, OR: is it the "Tet" period and the hotel was down to skeleton staff?
Anyway, it is only a blip on the radar. In general, everything are good and up to standard. Good on you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fantastic Location within the Street Market - Arrived by taxi from the bus station without any problems. Car entrance is to the back since the front faces the street market and cars do not seem allowed. Staff was very attentive. Check-in was fast.
- Graham (10/5): Good clean hotel. - Located close to city centre.Local people's market street at the front, very busy, love it.Hotel staff excellent.Funny.I would stay there again ,no worries.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The Mutz Nutz - The staff are lovely and hotel superb
- Verified traveler (10/5): Deserves 5 star - Very nice hotel close to river and park.. Rooms are spotless..
- Myra (10/5): Recommended hotel - The staff were very helpful & pleasant. The only - is the street it's facing which is very dirty and busy being a marketplace.
- DAESEON (8/5): Wonderful service - Upgrade service was good but there was a door between next room. Their was noise from neighing room. Breakfast was wonderful and staffs were really kind snd fruendly. I'd like to stay this hotel again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Sone comfort after exploring the delta! - The room is brilliant! Very big, massive bed and shower, to be honest we didn't want to leave the room at times it was so good.
The hotel is right above a very busy market, so if you are there to see the culture it is perfect. It is very central.
The pool is small with space for around 5 loungers so if you are expecting to relax there then you will have to get up early. Still a nice addition to the hotel. The gym is not great.
The staff are friendly but the tour information is not the best, it resulted in them calling people and handing me the phone every time I asked for information.
On the whole it is fantastic value for money and probably one of the best hotels on our trip to Vietnam so far!
- Zoltan (10/5): Nice hotel on a busy market street - A very nice hotel on a busy market street. Friendly reception, a large spotless room with furniture in a great condition. It has a pool on the 8th floor, surrounded by recline chairs from which you can enjoy the city view. Absolutely recommended.
- Clement (8/5): Hotel next to the river in Can Tho - This is a really nice hotel, with extremely spacious rooms.
It has an outside swimming pool and lounging area on the 8th floor which provides a great view of the surrounding area, the river and the market in the street next to the hotel.
The market is very pretty and authentic, but is also the most annoying feature of this hotel has it is active from 5am till really late at night and is extremely noisy.
Consequently rooms on the lower grounds and facing the street should be avoided as much as possible.
- Quoc Hung (10/5): Q H Tran - One of the best hotel i ever stayed with the most reasonable price
- Martina (8/5): Great Stay at West Hotel - Central location, nice and new hotel with great view over Mekong. Reliable WiFi and helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent but location is not. Car can not get in because market is in front of hotel . No room to park cars
- Ron (10/5): Great place - Got a big room right in the middle of things. Breakfast can be skipped, but besides that a great place
- Hien (6/5): Not too bad - The front of the hotel is crowded with merchants and it's dirty when raining
- Lam (8/5): Fresh review - My stay at the hotel was very enjoyable. I had a room on the 8th floor, so it wasn't that bad with the fish market that is situated around the hotel. The room was extra clean, and everything seems to be very new. Service was excellent and accommodations were adequate. However, one negative thing I'd say is probably the design and placement of the toilet. That is the worse design that I've seen. The toilet is facing the shower, which has an all-glass enclosure. The distance between the toilet and the glass enclosure is literally about 1 foot. There's barely a space for you to use the toilet.
- Tan Ming (8/5): Thank you for the nice experience - I had a pleasant stay at the hotel and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast should have more of different varieties everyday. Of my 4 days breakfast, about 90% of the items were served everyday.
Overall a nice hotel with good service and wonderful staffs.
- Martina (8/5): Central comfort - Central location, great price, comfortable beds with great a/c.
- Kenneth (8/5): Best view in Can Tho and an outstanding value - Enjoyed our time here and would stay again
- Kenneth (8/5): A great value with a marvelous view of the river - This was a great hotel for us with a wonderful roof top pool and a nice breakfast. I don't know that it would be a four star elsewhere but it was a good fit for us. The one thing that some guests were put off by is the entrance opens up into a street market that smells of fish etc... They would be better served to stay close to the city center
- Kenny Duc (8/5): Relative Visit Trip - Well our extended family stayed just 1 night at the West Hotel to visit relative in Can Tho. The Hotel overall was good, nice clean room, the room overlook the Mekong River, the staff are friendly with good services and the hotel are located close to the market and Can Tho City Centre.
We first only booked for 2 rooms, but after seeing the rooms we end up getting an extra room for our cousin as well. Breakfast at the hotel is exactly 3.5 star quality not much choices. Overall, is a good hotel to stays.
- Edmund (10/5): Business Development Director - I am really pleased with my recent stay at the West hotel, Cantho. The hotel is relatively new. Therefore, the amenities are super new. Considering the size of this hotel is not really huge but the swimming pool on the 8th floor is awesome. The room is clean, well maintain. The only thing i want to high light is the corridor lights is always off near the lift area, it should be lit to brighten up.
The front office staff are courteous, attentive, most of all knowledgeable. The FB staff are always helpful, and the breakfast is good.
The hotel locality is in the middle of a morning market place, which amazing to foreigners. The hotel is also in the heart of the city, within 10-15 mins walking distance to the night market, museum, Ninh Kieu pier & park.
Good bet for value.
- Michael (10/5): Can Tho - Wonderful ..... thank you
- KG (10/5): A real Gem - This is a perfect gem of a hotel, right in the middle of a lively street market full of local colour. The reception area and lobby are bright and attractive, with a simple restaurant set just above. We stayed in a suite on the ninth floor and all I can say is WOW! It was huge and beautiful, with windows all round, giving wonderful views of the river. The bathroom was bigger than most hotel rooms in London, with space for a large whirlpool bath and an enormous walk in shower. All the staff were lovely and friendly, organizing our return bus journey the next morning. The hotel is a short walk from Can Tho market, the night market and the river front, with lots of cafes and restaurants close-by. Our only regret was that we were only staying one night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable - Very friendly staffs, good location
- Vu (6/5): Watch out! - Everything appeared to be perfect until i found i lost a couple of things (including money) in the following day.
- Vu (8/5): Bad location - Quality hotel... but bad location... not recommend for a big group
- Nick (10/5): Great hotel...in the middle of street market. - Great...no complaints...only a minor suggestion about the gym.
Helpful staff.
- Annette (6/5): NEW HOTEL, LARGE ROOM - Use back entry to hotel to avoid wet market out front. Hotel was new, clean, large rooms, great shower/bathroom, aaaaaah comfy bed!!!! Breakfast sufficient. Staff were terrific. We had noisy neighbours, which is not hotels fault but was not appreciated, halls echo which makes noise louder. Hotel in good proximity to walk to markets, shops, restaurants. Pool was cloudy. Area where pool is is not finished yet. Great view from up there. All in all a good stay .
- Yvonne (10/5): Lovely hotel - We had a very enjoyable stay in the West Hotel. The area outside the hotel is a very poor area which is a great contrast to the opulence of the hotel. The staff were most courteous and helpful.
- Susan (6/5): Bad one - We didn't know that , there is street market in front of the hotel, it is very difficult get in or out of the area, smell so bad of the street market which is selling raw sea food on the street.
- Stefan (10/5): - a very nice, clean and new refurnished hotel Location is an inconvenient. One of the street markets is located just in front of the hotel. The noise, smell are unacceptable
- carol (10/5): Nice location close to the waterfront - Hotel was excellent, staff friendly and helpful, the pool was superb
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overall good, but need to improve sound isolation - This hotel is very new and quite beautiful, epc. at the lobby. Located in the center of Can Tho, very close to Ninh Kieu wharf (but don't expect too much with the view. We booked reiver view rooms but there were roofs and a little of river, not so good actually. You can book city view to save a bit money as it makes really no difference).
Staffs are nice and supportive. Rooms and facilities are clean and quite good. However, biggest minus point of this hotel is its sound isolation. It is so so so so much terrible. You can hear people talking inside the room (even at the avarage volumn) right from the elevator. We nearly had to whisper to each other otherwise other rooms will claim you.
- francois (10/5): Pleasant hotel. - We stayed four nights in this brand new hotel situated in a busy food market street, within a walking distance of the city center. Wonderful view over the Mekong. Pleasant open air swimming pool. Very good breakfast. Most helpful staff.
