Guest Reviews
- Colin (2/5): - We had given 4 months notice that we required twin beds. Not actioned by the hotel so had to re- locate to another Soho hotel.
- Collin (8/5): - Excellent location
- Thomas (10/5): - Excellent location for exploring Malaga - handy for marina, cathedral and stations
Lovely cafe on premises and staff very friendly
- Judith (10/5): - Staff brilliant - so helpful. Central location for everything. Spotlessly clean
- Anthony (8/5): Does the job for a short stay - Location handy for the the centre and the port area. Barrio has plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants. Room was well-kept but small with limited closet space. Bathroom pretty small too. Hotel has lovely breakfast cafe connected to it. Would be happy to stay here again but suitable for a couple of days only.
- Georges Francois (4/5): - I like only for its proximity to the centre but the room was awful. Very tiny and with a small window giving to a very dull backyard with a big wall facing the window
- Kishu (10/5): - Calidad
- Rosemary (10/5): - Location is close to everything and is walkable to the cruise terminal. Cafe downstairs does a good breakfast.
- Katherine (6/5): - This was a decent hotel. It was an good bed, and the sheets and bathroom were clean. It’s not fancy, the space is small (we had a hard time finding space to open both a large and small suitcase, alone w backpacks), and the hotel does look a bit outdated/ worn down. As I said, the bed/ br are clean, but the walls have marks and scuffs on them, and the wires hang out from the TV. Walls are thing, you can hear people going to elevator, and people partying outside, but neighborhood generally quiets down after 11-12pm. It’s good for a night stay, if you want something in a central area and budget. But don’t expect anything super inspiring or luxurious. Front reception was a desk in front of the elevator, and staff were friendly. Off site parking that is discounted by the hotel, about 5 min walk away on a smaller road. Breakfast at the adjoining cafe, it was good.
- Diana (10/5): - Beautiful little boutique hotel. Very centrally located two minutes walking to famous Larios street. Saw the yearly lighting of Christmas lights just two minutes walking from hotel. Beds are very comfortable and room feels brand new!
Party i rummet bredvid kl 01.30-04.30. Omöjligt att sova.
Personalen vid frukosten pratade inte engelska. Betalt 8 euro/person för frukosten. Fick betala extra för påfyllning av kaffe😏
- Vidar (8/5): - Kjempekoselig og serviceinstilt personale. Kjempebra frokostmeny
- Armando (10/5): - Exelente
- alan (10/5): - Great service and location
- Helena (6/5): Ok hotel good location - OK hotel but not more than that. Very thin walls so you vould easily hear the neighbours, not so nice. Room OK, quite big bed, coffee machine, mini bar.
Staff at check in very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast at a cafe in same building, very good. Many different menues to choose from.
Walking distance to city center, bus station snd train station.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fräscht rum, trevlig personal. Mycket lyhört dessvärre
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A bit small room, we were offered even smaller at first but as we had reservation for bigger things sorted out fast and efficiently. You can hear some noices from the corridor, but these are small things. Overall price-quality ratio was good for high season accommodation. Try to get your breakfast early.
- Annica (8/5): Prisvärt hotell med bra läge - Bra läge i trevligt kvarter, nära till gamla stan o shoppinggatan. Fint rum med fräscht badrum.
- Paula (10/5): En el centro y perfecto - Habitacion perfecta.
Cafetera en la habitación cosa totalmente necesaria.
Nuevas instalaciones
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We’ve stayed here before and returning for a third time with friends says that we rate it well.Comfortable welcoming no fuss and nice cafe attached where staff are equally helpful. Well placed for shops and restaurants and easy walking to museums and for site seeing.
- Brendon (2/5): Worst hotel of my entire trip. Avoid. - Very disappointed with this hotel. I arrived in the evening and it turned out I had book for the next day by mistake. The guy on reception was rude and made it clear I was inconveniencing him. They had rooms available but would change my booking and made me pay there and then for that night knowing they would still get the money from Hotels.com because it was my mistake. Very poor form especially as this was during COVID and not many people were travelling. They should have bent over backwards for customers who support them in these tough times. Will never return to this hotel or its sister hotels.
- Sara (8/5): great for short stay - Just spent 2 nights here, great for a short stay, walking distance to everything. My only suggestion is better soundproofing as there was street and hallway noise
- Edgar (10/5): Excellent service and location - Wonderful service and excellent location, very close from main landmarks
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very convenient for all the reasons we visited. Port area, beach, old town. Staff were great. Best hotel coffee EVER (OK, most hotel coffee is awful). Smart, small city-centre hotel. Obviously the city centre can be noisy (traffic, drunks, building works) but the convenience of the location more than made up for that.
- Patrik (8/5): - Nice hotel good location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable room on 4th floor so no windows only a skylight which was fine. Lovely big bed very comfy. Coffee maker in the room excellent !! Great shower. Slightly cramped but the sloping wooden beamed ceiling was a feature!! Pleasant staff. Attached to a nice cafe where coffee and breakfast/snacks were tasty. Excellent location for Malaga centre and close by secure parking.
- Victoria (8/5): Good - couple of small improvements needed - The hotel is clean and tidy and in a great location. The bed was very comfortable but the air conditioning was temperamental and the shower position made it difficult to get in and out easily - the door touched the toilet so it was a case of a lot of shuffling around! Overall the hotel is good but a few small touches let it down - not necessarily in line with a boutique hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the location. We were staying for one night and wanted to see a few museums . Great for that. Also walking distance to fun tapas bars.
- Roseline (6/5): - The room is big enought but it was not really clean and you could hear everything going on in the common area and also in the neighbourgs' rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Would stay there again. Good value for money. Nice Location.
Staff very helpful
- Sarah (8/5): It was fine! - This hotel was fine! Our room was okay, but I didn’t really like the ceiling. It’s very dark and was “cabin”like... worn out wooden look and didn’t feel so clean. But other than the roof, the room was nice and the bathroom was clean. We only stayed for one night, but no real complaints. Location was good!
- DR (10/5): Highly recommended - Everything about this hotel was great.
- david (8/5): - Hotel good & room fine if rarher small.
For a reputedly quality hotel it was dissapointing that breakfast was very limited coice - eg fruit was not fresh but tinned.
- Mark (6/5): - The location is good. The sound insulation is horrible! Install some carpet in the corridor floor as every step can be heard 10m away. Remove open shelves and install proper wardrobe!
- Andres (10/5): - Excellent location with a wonderful staff. They were very helpful in showing us the key locations to visit
- Sibylle (6/5): - Very central location, but on busy road. Had room with a window that didn't close properly hence a noisy stay. Comfortable bed, clean, but room and bathroom were equally compact and a bit tired. Breakfast staff was unfriendly and disorganised.
- Laura (8/5): - The bed wasn’t that comfortable, they need better pillows. Also the room is very loud, outside road noise and other rooms doors slamming. Small thing but needed is a bin in the bedroom! But overall we really enjoyed the hotel and the location was fantastic.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super cute hotel located in the centre of a bunch of cafes and pubs. 15€ to the airport. Couldn’t ask for a better stay!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Ideal location! Really uncomfortable beds. Staff was helpful and bike rentals are a great way to explore the nearby greenway.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, level four rooms has exposed beams - Breakfast chaotic poor service as only one guy serving and the locals all come in for coffee and some breakfast. Reception staff really helpful, no air conditioning available at time of our stay and fourth floor rooms have only a velum window for natural light. overpriced for room type we had.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We just stayed the night. Got in late, had a quick check in. Front desk clerk was helpful in pointing us towards good places to hang out and eat. - room was comfortable and clean. AC worked almost too well! would happily stay again.
- angela (4/5): Close to the city - Small room which we had read and anticipated so no big deal, nice modern decor with a coffee machine (we didn't use it) on arrival was pleasantly surprised to find a pillow menu so my husband called to order two to our taste but was asked if we didn't have enough in our room already !?! He replied he wanted from the pillow menue.
But after arriving back after dinner we realised there was no dooner or blanket our bed only a single layer sheet and a bed runner across the foot of the bed. and when i called reception for a blanket we were told there were none left and to ask again in the morning for one, Well even with the air con on 26 degrees we were frozen all night so when going out the next day my husband enquires for a blanket for our 2nd night but was told that they don't have blankets in any of there rooms as this is all they use in summer! So for our 2nd night I used the bed runner length ways as a 2nd layer and my husband used a bath towel with the air con switched off! Moral of the story they don't care if your comfortable or not! Not good enough for 3 star rated Hotel how hard is it to go to the cupboard for a blanket not to mention that the shower has to be run on a low pressure as the draine pipe backs up and over flowed on to the floor ☹️
- Verified traveler (10/5): A great hotel in the city centre - Lovely small hotel in the city centre. Staff were very helpful and helped enormously when I was robbed whilst in the city. Couldn't have asked for more
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best price for a great location - Stayed here for a night before the cruise. Took bus A from the airport, and it stopped 200 yd from the hotel. This hotel is right in the middle of the tourist / port area. It is very modern and clean. And a great breakfast was included. Would go there again if I have a chance.
- Penelope (6/5): Clean but depressing room - Room recently decorated but large mural was peeling from wall and one curtain hanging down from rail. Coffee machine lead too short to reach plug without moving it onto suitcase rack. Lots if noise from other rooms/corridor due to thin doors?
- David (2/5): Hotel was clean, 3rd night they forgot to make bed - this was the second time we have stayed at SOHO MALAGA, first stay great, this time not so great. Room was a internal one, very small, badly laid out, bed was very uncomfortable. We should have complained but we go on holiday to get out and about and enjoy. So I would not accept room 407, or perhaps any internal room. The area is a up and coming one, great restaurant over the road in the side street, a few good bars around, very near Old Town and Marina. I don't think we will be staying again at SOHO MALAGA, a shame as we go to Malaga twice a year, pretty sure we can find another hotel which is better and as reasonable.
- Dunc59 (8/5): Well located & compact - Hotel is compact and offers basic services but makes good use of adjacent cafeteria where breakfast is served. The room was compact and showed signs of wear but it was clean and comfortable with a coffee making facility which appears rare in Spain. Could not fault location ; 5 mins walk from city centre and it's various attractions and similarly close to harbour and beach. Getting to and from airport couldn't be easier , 5 mins walk from Alameda Central which has a direct and frequent link to main station and airport. Ideal hotel for a short stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good central position. Helpful staff. - Five friends keen to practice their knowledge of Spanish, loved Malaga and trip to Granada.
- Ronen (4/5): - One elevator that was broken during our stay
Check-in is a very small place next to the one elevator
Medium breakfast
- Gerard (8/5): Good Location - Good Location, weird Englishman staying next door but apart from that it was good. Also had a cool stereo system.
- Jean (8/5): Base for area - Very good hotel which we used as a base for attractions in Malaga and surrounding cities.
Comfortable and clean rooms- a pleasure to come back to after our adventures.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stuff - Really loved the bed ..the most comfortable bed ..would go back
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel - Excellent
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel - Good hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): location and call spot on! - Great hotel location in the centre of malaga I would recommend this to anyone if they are eating local to the hotel as its 5 minutes walk to everything
- Alan (10/5): great location, classy hotel - Great for a romantic break. Fantastic location, a great base to see the sights of Malaga. Staff friendly and hotel great. Well recommended
- Verified traveler (8/5): A Quiet and Comfortable Malaga Hotel - My fifth time staying here. Great nights sleep thanks to very comfortable and huge bed. Smallish bathrooms but everything works well with plenty of towels and toiletries. Shower and bath excellent with NO LEAKING! Good service, wi-fi but let down by poor breakfast offer. (Pre-cooked, dried out scrambled eggs? Come on!) The geographical position is good as it's less noisy than the north side of Almeida Principal but within 5 mins walk of produce market and Calle Larios. Taxi rank is right outside the door.
- Clogs (8/5): Very handy location - Nice hotel, very helpful staff. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast fine. Nicely decorated rooms.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good start to an Andalucia trip - The hotel was perfectly situated and newly renovated. Very friendly staff would help with any kind of question such as restaurants and parking questions. The only thing that could be problematic seems to be paperthin walls which expose you to the conversations of the neighbors eventually.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel near to the old town - The room was quite small and actually no view from the window. But the room was comfortable and quiet to sleep. Malaga old town very near.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room too small.
Bathroom appeared clean but floors very dirty
- Edmund (10/5): Smart hotel in the centre - A lovely hotel very central, smallish room but very comfortable bed, nice bathroom and all very clean. We had a good breakfast, all the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, I would certainly stay here again.
- Jim (10/5): Simple hotel, great location - Great location, just a 10 minute walk from the train station that connects you to the airport. From there, it's just a few minutes walk into town, 10 minutes down to the harbour, and not much more farther to anywhere else of note. The hotel rooms themselves are well maintained and the beds are comfortable. Add to this a friendly and helpful staff and you can't really go wrong.
- Nichola (6/5): Twin rooms = brick wall - Nice hotel just be aware twin rooms have no view out of the window - brick wall view only.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Cold and unappealing - The room had a cold feeling, we couldn't wait to get out of it, and didn't want to go back, the towels were threadbare, the checkin was short and unpleasant. This is supposed to be a Boutique Hotel but it has been poorly executed, from the room detail to the customer service. On the plus side the door man was pleasant and friendly and smiled, the only warmth we received at this hotel. There are better hotels for less than half the price in this area. Go check them out instead.
- Dorothy (10/5): Small and perfectly formed. - A modern, quite minimalist hotel, The Hotel Solo Malaga is ideally situated to access the lively port area with its varied and high quality eateries. Also within a few minutes walk are the traffic free areas with a wide selection of shops, cafes, tapas bars and a delightful indoor market filled to the rafters with wonderful, good quality local produce at startlingly low prices. The many museums and galleries are also at hand. The staff were friendly and most helpful, in particular when they helped us to book transport and entrance tickets to the Alhambra Palace in Granada. We enjoyed the breakfast which was in a delightful cafe, part of the hotel, shared by local customers. The hot chocolate was the best we have ever tasted.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, friendly staff - The hotel is ideally located a short walk from the railway station and the town centre. Friendly staff and very newly opened so in great condition. Breakfast was very busy when we were there with people having to wait for a few minutes for a table.
- Paul (10/5): A Real find and fantastic comfort and luxury. - This was a real find as it is only open one month. We know Malaga well and this location is fantastic as it is central yet quiet. The breakfast was fantastic. Adrian on reception was extremely helpful and friendly.
