- Stacey (10/5): - Loved my stay here! The staff were super friendly and always happy to help with tour ideas and tips for things to do. We had a flat tire and the owner was very helpful with letting us use a phone and making sure we were taken care of, it was really appreciated! The pool was amazing with the best views—definitely a spot I could hang out all day. My room was cozy and really comfortable. The area was very quiet which made relaxing and sleeping easy! Overall just a great vibe and experience—would definitely stay again!

- Rachel (8/5): - If you’re looking for a fancy Costa Rica experience , this is not your place in Nosara. If you’re looking for a real old school Costa Rica experience this place provides what you need . David the owner and his crew are loving and make you feel very welcome, He suggested my 12 year old son take a Jui Jitsu class, which he loved, and offered many suggestions for activities, tours and even made a call for us. The food is good, even though we only ate pizza and pancakes for breakfast. The.pool up at the classically designed main villa is lovely for a morning and afternoon swim but be prepared to climb a steep stair case. I liked it because it was part of my exercise routine. The main lounge and restaurant area are very comfortable, always playing great DJ music which gives it a dance festival vibe. The scene is very international, hip and all the travelers we met were very interesting and kind. We loved playing on the jungle pool table. My biggest criticism is the grounds could be better leading up to the main house and in front of the studio could’ be better kept up. The communal kitchen needs to be upgraded and the trash area was messy when we arrived and it took a few days for it to be cleaned. . There was also an ugly structure outside Casita 1 that should be replaced with a garden. I wish they had provided shampoo and cream inside the rooms which are lovely. All is all it was a great time and we felt very safe and taken care of. I would recommend a car or renting an ATV.

- Craig (10/5): - David the owner greeted me kindly. I showed up early and he kindly let me store my bags in a safe place while I went surfing and waited until it was time to check in. He is a very fun, laid back guy that made me feel right at home. I really appreciated the fact that my room had a good working AC unit and a comforter on the bed. Most places I’ve stayed in Costa Rica only supply a thin bed sheet. The room was clean and cozy. I slept great! The next person I met was Brian the pizza chef. He gave me a fist bump and had a big smile. I really liked talking to him. His Pizza skills are excellent. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. And finally the other person I really appreciated while staying there was the other David. Not sure of his exact job title but he seemed to do a little bit of everything. He made me several great cups of coffee, he took my food orders, he called me a shuttle to Tamarindo when I was leaving. He was a solid dude and I could tell he had a strong work ethic and cared about the guests experience. I will definitely be staying there again next time I’m in Nosara.

- Brendan (10/5): - The resort is in a perfect location outside of Nosara with enough isolation and green space to give us the Pura Vida vibe we love. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The surf lesson we aranged through the resort was excellent and they also offer Mui Thai and Jujitsu Lessons in a very well maintained practice space. Good pizza and western breakfast with even better typical food. The owner is very kind and easy to talk to with excellent advice and he has surrounded himself with very talented instructors and staff. We are definatley interested in coming back.

My partner and I are seasoned travelers and have stayed in questionable places but we thought this one would be great because of the rating and price. However, we did not get what we paid for. I would suggest spending a little more money and staying somewhere else.

- Gia (10/5): - I absolutely loved my stay here. Honestly, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Nosara now. Because it doesn't feel like a "hotel." The place is super cool. Has a definite Surf vibe, and a sort or rustic-chic vibe as well. In the middle of the jungle but I have nice sheets and these pretty lights in my room so I don't always have harsh overhead. They have an espresso machine the size of a Volkswagen. Morning Coffee was divine. Gluten free options (again, surprising and thoughtful) the smoothies were innovative and delicious. The pizzas were from a wood fired oven. The menu was very good. I was pleased to have such offering right there. It felt like a lot of attention to detail and special little touches. I like rustic and adventurous but I also like comfort and amenities. PS The room actually looked like the photos. My room was super clean and comfortable, and very cute. They have an a/c and a ceiling fan so I could always control my temperature and comfort. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Jesus took care of my every need and he did so with a smile and genuine warmth. The owner is on the property as well. He was so nice, and obviously cares a lot and is always making sure everything runs smoothly and everyone's needs are met. I felt safe, taken care of, appreciated and like I made new friends and would be welcomed back. Huge value for the money.
- June (10/5): - The glamping cabin we booked was not available when we arrived so the manager set us up in a very nice apartment at no extra charge which was definitely an upgrade from the cabin. He also allowed us extra time for check out and offered to keep watch on our bags so we could go to the beach before our taxi arrived.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Highly disappointing - There is lots to say about Jungles Edge. Mostly negative. I stayed in the Jungle cabins, which is basically a glorified tent with beds. There was 2 fans in the cabin and only 1 worked. The pictures on Hotels.com are extremely outdated, the facility is extremely run down and need lots of work. There was no lock on my cabin, the fridge hadn’t been cleaned forever if ever, and very minimal dishes/cutlery. The daily “cleaning” involved emptying out the trash bucket and little else. There is no hot water in the cabins, nor AC. I had both a gecko and gigantic grasshopper that made their way into my room and I had to eliminate. Those were not nearly as bad as the ants that were everywhere and got in everything. They said that is because of the dry season. There is also no beach shuttle per the listing, you can get a tuk tuk but there is a fee each way $7 US. I did walk once but it is not only dusty but very unsafe, there are no sidewalks or even room on the road for pedestrians. There is also no gym or fitness facility, again stated in the listing that there is. On the positive side the food is very good. The smoothies and pizzas were very delicious and freshly made. As the staff is either local and speak no English or temporary drifters working for board there is little help available. The owner seemed somewhat knowledgeable when around. I know this place is cheap, but for the additional cost of tuk tuk I would stay closer to the beach
- TravelerJoe (4/5): - Where do I start. The word Bungalows is used very very light here. The "bungalows" are simple a metal frame with some sort of plastic screen wrap around them. 0 privacy and 0 security. Very disappointing experience. I believe that for the price you can find a much better place to stay near the beach. I made the mistake of buying breakfast there. Not only it took over 30 minutes to get a food there but it cost nearly 3 times more there that it would cost in a nearby restaurant. Also, be prepared to be charged an extra 23% more of anything in their menu for some time of fees. When I asked about these fees and the misleading "room" photos on expedia , the staff because very defensive and unfriendly. I would not recommended this place at all.Save your cash and spend it some where else.

Like being @ a health spa. Yoga, jijutsu & kickboxing everyday. Salt water pool up top with the villa, amazing view. A yoga retreat was happening the day that I left. From Great British.Surf boards available. Dave the owner is very knowledgeable & most of all fantastic, friendly staff. I’m going back along with my kids. Much as gracias Jungle Edge

I had a horrible sleep as a result, but I do think a few nights stay would allow some adjustment. I don’t recommend stopping by for 1 night like I did.
- Justin (10/5): - What an experience! Such great hospitality. Not only from the staff, but the owners themselfs constantly went the extra mile for us. From the emails to make sure we had the room we wanted, to helping us confirm reservations for other activities in the area, they were a tremendous help. My friend and myself stayed here for a couple nights and it was absolutely fantastic, even though it was the off season. With the street sign on the main road, it was easy to spot. As we walked up, they were working on renovations of the restaurant. Just some annual off-season cleaning. They also built a giant brick pizza oven. One of the coolest things about the check in/restaurant area was that they had a communal garden with things like cilantro, chives, kale, limes, bananas, and oranges growing, Just to name a few items. The rooms here were fantastic as well. We stayed in one of the bungalows, and it was perfect. We had a mini fridge with a hot plate and utensils, couple fans, small fold up table. But the best part would probably have to be the bathroom. The roof was almost clear, and so you could take a shower with the natural light. Our last night there, the restaurant was finished and ready to go, so we decided to eat there. All I can say is wow! There chef can COOK! My friend actually stoped mid conversation just to make the comment of how good the food was. It was honestly the best food I had on the trip.

All I can say is wow! Their chef can COOK! My friend actually stopped mid conversation just to make the comment of how good the food was. It was honestly the best food I had on the trip. The distance to the beach isn't that bad either. It's only like a 10 min walk. There's a path through the woods that shortens the walk quite a bit too. But it's a fun little walk. We weren't really in the room that much, but it was clean and comfortable, which is all I could ask. They do have privacy curtains, fans, hotplates, dishes, a folding table, and a mini fridge in the room. The bathroom was cool with the frosted roof. It let alot of natural light in. We went during the off season, but overall, my experiance here was fantastic and I would highly recomend this place to anyone who's up for an adventure.
- Lani (8/5): - The hotel chef and staff working on the property were amazing! They really made the stay. The pool was nice and clean. We got a massage and rented a quad from the owner. He arranged a tour of Nicoya, but I would not recommend it, just because it's a long, expensive trip with not a lot to see. We thought we would be staying in a hotel-style room, but ended up in a bungalow with plastic mesh walls. There were wide open spaces to the outside in the walls, floors, and doorways, which freaked us out the first couple of nights, because it is literally on the jungle's edge, and we are terrified of snakes. We got used to it, for the most part, and felt pretty brave by the end of the week. The food was incredible, and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was relaxing and provided a very natural experience. We saw howler monkeys, parrots, and toads at the resort. We walked to/from "downtown" Nosaraa couple times. I'd guess the walk was about half a mile. It was 88 degrees everyday, so we walked slow. All the roads are dirt, and if you rent a vehicle, don't be surprised if you come across a foot of standing water you'll have to traverse (outside Nosara). Other than that, driving seemed like a reasonable thing to do, and next time, we will rent a car. Hands down, Costa Rica is the best place I've ever visited, and I've traveled quite a bit.

- nancy (10/5): Amazing, i will return. - The cabins are fantastic, private or dorm, The pool, villa, and the foooooood!! Some of the best on my trip. Close to town. Surfing is fantastic in the area, the yoga classes are so wonderful and what a place for morning meditation. As a Canadian the prices for yoga were a bit high, I would request a package if they have to do multiple classes. The real pura vida hostel💕
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This is honestly the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Our room could not be opened with the key (which the staff just disregarded by saying we just did not turn it right,) there was a hole in the door screen, so anyone could get into the room, we could not pick up wi-fi in our room, and the place was dirty (stained sheets, bad smell, etc.) Also, it was far away from the beach and main town and had been built behind a very impoverished neighborhood. The staff was rude and unhelpful for the most part, and I never saw any of them do too much actual work. But they do have a nice pool, so there's that.
- Shannon (10/5): Bungalow close to Nosara - We stayed in the bungalows. The queen sized bed was more comfortable than any of the other pricey hotels we stayed in during our time in Costa Rica. The showers in the bath house had far more water pressure and heat than the other expensive places we stayed. The property is beautiful and rustic. They have recently expanded the bar and restaurant offering and are still working out some kinks but it was delicious. For the price, this was my favorite place to stay!!
