Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We managed to get a good sleep after a full day of travel. Nothing to complain about really. Wifi didn’t work, but not a big deal as we were headed for bed anyway. We would have liked the ability for a second cup of coffee, as there are only two Nespresso pods in the room ( decaf doesn’t count)

The gym was awesome, and of course, Sidney is a lively little town. I wished we'd had a proper on suite kitchen, but none was available with my late booking. We managed, though!

• NancyA131 (10/5): One of our favourites - While expensive the Sidney Pier Hotel offers an unparalleled location in the sweet town of Sidney, BC. The rooms are large, very elegantly furnished and well equipped. Lovely Nespresso coffee machine! Beds are super comfy and the soap/lotion products of excellent quality. We always leave feeling like we had a day at a spa retreat - even if we don't use the spa which is also wonderful.

• alma (10/5): The Best Stay Ever - I loved everything about it. The location is excellent and across the road from the beach and walking distance to everything. The room was exceptional. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The fluffy soft robes and slippers in the room made me feel at home. It is also conveniently adjacent to a coffee shop and bakery that opens 7 am in the morning if you feel like an early morning coffee and snack. I have only good things to say about the hotel. I would love to go back for a longer stay at the hotel.

The location is excellent and makes for easy walking throughout the town and down by the ocean. Our room is always clean and it's very nice to have a coffee shop in the lobby. Food is excellent!

Great parking facility underneath the hotel. Excellent views of the ocean. No problems with the hotel itself which was excellent. Shame there were no restaurants run by the hotel on site. Had lunch in the independent restaurant on site and could not get mayonnaise to go with my salad with two servers, had to have a third before I received some and food of very dubious quality.

• L1737SZpatc (8/5): Premium Property in Premium Location - This property is located in a premium location along the waterfront close to shopping and a wide variety of restaurants. We chose a suite and enjoyed the convenience of the grocery, fish market, liquor store and local dining options all within walking distance. Watching all of the activity on the Salish Sea either through the enormous glass windows on a stormy day, from the balcony or while walking along the harbour filled our days. The only drawbacks for some (not us) might be the sound of the early morning flights coming into and out of the airport. My disappointment was the spa. It did not offer the full package of services each day, so I was not able to take advantage. Maybe on another trip.

The jewels of the hotel were the staff and the view, both were excellent. There wasn't no room service available. So we kept snacks in the room just in case we got hungry late evening. There was a refrigerator but no microwave . Minor inconveniences and these would NOT affect booking again at this hotel

• WalkingandRolling (10/5): Wheelchair Accessibility - From the initial booking to greeting us at reception, Cristina was so helpful and eager to help us regarding our request for a wheelchair accessible room. She asked for our feedback on the same for future room updates and she even called around to several taxi companies one evening to secure us an accessible taxi for an evening out with some local friends. The room itself was excellent in terms of accessibility for "our" specific needs traveling with a manual wheelchair. The room was quite large with ample room for maneuvering a wheelchair and the also very large bathroom had a newer looking roll-in shower with a wide, attached shower bench, a roll-under sink and adequate room and safety bars by the toilet for safe transferring. I cannot comment on bed height or under-bed space that some wheelchair users require for transferring and/or for other mobility-related equipment as these features are not an issue for us specifically. The small town of Sidney is extremely charming with many local shops, coffee spots and restaurants within walking & rolling distance and it was so convenient that the ferry terminal is only about 10 minutes from the hotel. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future. P.S. ALL the staff we encountered from reception to house-keeping were great - we just happened to have had Cristina on shift during most of our stay. She really is an asset to your staffing (and she has a very fun sense of humour) :)

• billygoatgruffy (10/5): My New Spot In Sidney - Shout out to Jenny (from the block) and Christine at the front desk. The epitome of great customer service. It's always the little things when it comes to a hotel stay. Never mind that The Sidney Pier Hotel is in a prime spot and you cannot replicate that. When I stay at a hotel and it has the little things such as a Nespresso coffee machine, fluffy towels, comfortable beds & linens, and great toiletries; that's what makes the a big difference between a fantastic stay vs a mediocre stay. The Sidney Pier Hotel hits all the little things that make a difference. The big chains could steal a page out of their book if they really want to take their game to the next level. Or stay mediocre and allow The Sidney Pier Hotel to continue setting the bar. I know it will be my first choice next time I'm in town.

Of note, the onsite 10 acres restaurant has a great menu, and dogs are allowed on the entire outdoor patio, with excellent multiple heaters (above and beside) to keep us warm. An improvement I’d suggest to the 2 TVs in the rooms would be streaming capable boxes. The cable boxes seemed to have only network tv, though many channels. The park, pier, and beach upfront is world class, and 180 degree views from the rooms to the east are beautiful with almost floor to ceiling glass for viewing and brightness.

• Ontheroad164 (8/5): Great location for Vancouver Island ferry/airport - First: the hotel is due for refurbishment in early 2026, so my comments may not all apply after that date. However, the location won't change and it's a good choice if you want to stay close to the Ferry & Airport. I didn't have much time on the island and didn't want to spend half a day getting to my hotel. The town of Sidney has lots of shops & restaurants, and much more of a small-town vibe than Victoria. There's a lovely walkway along the shore that runs past the hotel. There's an excellent spa on site (Haven), and when I visited the restaurant and cafe were part of the 10 Acres brand, a small and excellent group of restaurants on the island. I didn't eat anywhere else, it was that good.

It’s would recommended it to anyone who is exploring Victoria and would lik - The location is ideal, The balcony off our room overlooking a rooftop garden and the ocean, was so calming and beautiful. The rooms are spacious and clean with lots of thoughtful amenities. The front desk staff was so kind and welcoming and full of helpful information. And the coffee shop on premises is fantastic! The only critique I can think of was that there weren’t towels in the steam room – which meant you had to bring your towel from your room, but it would get completely wet in the steam room and then you didn’t have a dry towel to take a shower with in the morning!

• PretPourPartir (6/5): Snuggy Sidney by the Sea - We stayed 4 nights in the middle of August in the Junior Suite, 1 King Bed, room 207. We chose this room for the location, the separate shower and the balcony. The room was somewhat spacious with a large King bed, a “dining room” with a table and 2 chairs, and a kitchen area with a full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave and sink. This kitchen was equipped with cutlery and dishware, paper towels, dishwashing soap and tea towels. There was also a commercial grade Nespresso machine and we had a generous supply of pods everyday. There was also bottled water and creamers in the fridge. There was adequate storage with a set of drawers and a large closet with room for us to store our luggage out of sight. The bathroom had a large tub and separate shower and a long vanity with double sinks. The balcony had a view of the sea and was furnished with 3 chairs and a small coffee table. The balcony was about 8 by 8 feet large. The balcony was not that clean, with bird poop on some of the furniture, which was strange seeing how the rest of the suite and the hotel in general was very well maintained. There was lots of cleaning staff, so our suite was always cleaned and restocked in a timely manner. The hotel is located directly on the waterfront in Sidney so it is not only seconds away from the seaside promenade, but it is a short walk to restaurants, cafes and shopping. The room was quite bright when it was sunny, but cloudy days just made the dark and slightly dated interior design of the suite much more noticeable. It might be time for a freshening up of the decor and paint to make it more “now”. We slept quite well as the bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was adjustable and the black out curtains cut out a lot of morning light. Sidney is a very quiet town, so there we never heard any street sounds during our stay. We would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to this area, but we would also highly recommend being extra vigilant and ask to see your bill on checkout. We only discovered a few hours later, when we got our bill in an email, that we had been overcharged about 300 dollars more than our Hotels.com reservation. Luckily we were still in the area so we could rectify this “error” over the phone and get a reimboursment on our credit card. I should add that there was no apologies for this “oversight” and no explication either. This is why we are giving The Sidney Pier Hotel and Spa 3 out of 5 stars.
