- K3884YGkc (6/5): Beautifully Renovated - Beautifully renovated!! Only huge disappointment is that they allow dogs. We Rode the elevator down from 4th floor with a dog and its owner and the dog peed on the carpet in the elevator. Owner exited out a side door. I told the front desk that a dog peed in the elevator on the carpet. To think that a dog could have peed on the carpet in the room I stayed in, nasty. I am sure room carpeting is not cleaned after every guest. It is a huge mistake to allow animals in rooms. What about people with allergies?
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Darwin (7/5): Clean hotel . Great staff terrible mattresses - Very clean and modern The beds we’re the worst we have ever slept on in a Hilton hotel
- Candice (10/5): Nice - The area was so congested but it was still a nice location. There was no soap, body wash in the bottles provided complimentary in the shower.
- Ron (10/5): Johnson - The restaurant was phenomenol. Food & service 10 stars. N/a
- Pamela (8/5): - The staff was very courteous. The shade in our room didn't open. It was broken. It was kind of like living in a bat cave.
- annie (9/5): -
- HernOkies (8/5): A Gallup Jewel - Staff very friendly. We were so exhausted from driving all day that we decided to just have a cocktail & dinner at the hotel bar before crashing for the night. The restaurant was filled with many locals. We ordered the burger & fries not expecting too much but it was really fresh & delicious & cooked perfectly and the fries were crispy. They also serve a full made to order breakfast which was also delicious as was the coffee. The hotel has recently undergone a full renovation. The new decor is nice and the beds & pillowed were very comfortable. Some of the renovations in the bathroom showcased some shoddy workmanship & the shower needs re-grouted but overall a clean & comfy stay.
- Rachel (10/5): - The hotel was clean, it was quiet and close to restaurants and shopping. They do have the option of staying in and have breakfast or dinner at the hotel as well. The evenings can be enjoyed at the bar watching a game and having a glass of wine or beer. The Outdoor patio is also inviting but did not have time to enjoy that during my stay. They have a pool and small gym to get a quick workout. I would definitely stay here again.
- Jane (10/5): - Love everything about this hotel! The lobby bar was great place to catch the Sunday night foot ball game and enjoy the atmosphere. They have a kitchen that served up some good food too!
- Valerie (10/5): -
- Heather (2/5): - I was charged a pet fee for my service animal. When I disputed it, the manager said I did not disclose my pet. I do not have to disclose my service animal. Still waiting on my refund, even though I was asked to provide my credit card number to the manager. This hotel is violating ADA.
- andreaaz2012 (8/5): Reliable clean and comfortable room. - I've stayed in this hotel on 3 occasions, it's very easy to find near the freeway. It's kept very clean , the service is friendly and the breakfast buffet is quite good.
- Jane (10/5): Gallup New Mexico stay - The hotel lobby is very beautiful and welcoming. They have a lobby bar as well as serve breakfast and dinner there. Rooms are so beautiful with very comfortable beds. It was our silver lining to an unexpected stay!
- dougtQ6573OM (8/5): Nice Facility - Stayed here two separate times in August while vacationing in New Mexico. The facility is clean and the rooms were quiet. Easy on/off access to I-40 but didn't hear any freeway noise.
- Jennifer (6/5): - The staff were awesome. I had to move rooms because an inconsiderate guest was smoking pot next to my room. Rooms were adequate but not quiet.
- William (2/5): - Two electric bikes were stolen from my travel van. $2,500.00 loss
- Cristina (3/5): Dismal. I’ve been coming to this hotel for 10 years, but I would never stay again. This gets worse - Staff are unspeakably surly and rude
Unwelcoming and morose
I said I had paid for breakfast and they said it wasn’t in the system and made me feel like a liar. Even the waitress said she needed to doublecheck I was telling the truth. I had to pull out my laptop and show them the actual reservation said breakfast is included in the final price. It’s unbelievable how they dealt with me, like a common liar. The stuff is terrible and then food mediocre
- shuhui (8/5): Pleasant overnight stay - Spacious overall; well lit and designed lobby/bar/ dining areas 1. Shower volume is adequate, higher could be better
2. Free coffee in lobby not always available
- Evelyn (10/5): - Nice place None
- Rocker_rep (10/5): BEST in Gallup - Still the best Hilton Garden Inn we’ve experienced. Probably our 5th stay here on cross country road trips. Front desk Dorian has always been gracious & helpful. Server Ana at breakfast always friendly & efficient. (A good example for the young trainees we saw). Spotless, well stocked room. This is the best in Gallup, solid in service, safe in location, convenient to I40. Bonus: overlooks trains across the highway passing thru ;)) and still the rooms are very quiet & peaceful. Always recommend & will be back again! Thanks for a great stay.
- Elizabeth Dehon (10/5): -
- Jennifer (8/5): - It was easy & convenient
- Sherry (10/5): - Room was clean and friendly staff.
- Magen (10/5): - THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE. THE BREAKFAST WAS GREAT!
- ly693 (2/5): We stayed 4 nights & our room was turned down once! - Me and family stayed here for 4 nights.
The housekeeping only turned our room once! The housekeeping forgot to clean and left for the day. The front desk said there was no one to call. Then the second day, the houseman told us to call the front desk for a turn down and they turned our room after 5:30pm!! Even after we requested our room for turn down service at the front desk as we left for the day. Horrible service. Horrible housekeeping. Only thing they did was give us towels, after a long 12 hour day, we wanted to come back to a clean room.
The front desk didn’t know where her manager was. She just gave us a business card.
There were no towels at the pool. The outlets in our room did not work. You’re better off driving to Albuquerque or Flagstaff for a better experience at a hotel. Don’t waste your time and money here. If I could leave no stars that would be good.
- Dakota (10/5): - I really enjoyed the property/hotel the pool is awesome nice and roomy and the hot tub is nice and hot. The beds are comfy. Walmart is a walking distance and u have two restaurants nearby as well i would highly recommend this place.
- Vikki (10/5): Surprisingly nice - Very nice hotel. Would certainly stay again.
- Ronnie (10/5): - Great
- JANETTE (10/5): - It was pet friendly.
- Pamela (10/5): - Loved everything about the place
- Nathan (10/5): - .
- EdUrias (10/5): Great Customer Service - Had to drive my father-in-law who was recently discharged from a hospital so a cross-country road trip too effect. There was a previous comment by another traveler about construction at the hotel, and that was not the case during our recent trip.
Front desk staff was so helpful and the hotel had a wheelchair that we needed to transport our family member to and from our SUV. Staff also booked us a ground floor room which was very nice. The omelets were great at the restaurant, and we went to the El Rancho restaurant nearby for dinner the previous night. We used the laundry to wash/dry some soiled clothing and this was helpful.
We will definitely keep this HGI in mind because my spouse and I are planning a Route 66 trip soon!
- Linda (10/5): Nice Hotel - Was nice staying in hotel with cleanness in the room, desk clerk people were nice and waiter’s was nice plus chef cook a breakfast for us. So everything was perfect for us.
Thank you
- Herfina (8/5): Very good -
- Delene (10/5): Exceptional - I liked that the staff was so friendly. I guess the pool room was without towels both times we went but one call and they staff brought in new towels.
- Susan (6/5): - I asked for two rooms with king bed and a bathtub. Got one. The second room was finally ready but had no bathtub. It was expensive and no breakfast was included. People at the front desk were okay.
- Camron (10/5): Exceptional -
- 305ericw (2/5): HGI Gallup NM - Wasted Money, No apology - Please check with the property before you book.
They have the place tore up and they don't let people know until they arrive that:
+ Very little available parking due to construction.
+ No Pool access
+ No fitness room access
+ There is breakfast, but you have to pick it up and eat in your room.
When we logged a complaint, they could care less.
- cathieh614 (4/5): Too much stress - We travel with our dog thru Gallup 2x a year. We picked this hotel because it’s dog friendly, rooms are nice and very clean. But won’t stay here again due to the reasons outlined below. We checked in at 4:30pm and they were going to give us a room on the 4th floor forcing us to use elevator with our dog. But then found a room on 2nd floor. There are no green areas to walk dogs and they charge for breakfast except for cereal, limited fruit and coffee. There was a long line for toast. It is in a very busy area which adds stress because many locals are the rudest drivers. Roads near hotel are difficult to navigate and they want to run you over. Forget it.
- Ricardo (10/5): - Ok
- Tara (3/5): Got charged for two nights instead of 1. DONT STAY HERE!!!!! - DO NOT BOOK HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CHARGED FOR ADD'L NIGHTS THAT YOU DIDNT STAY. I was charged $449 for one night on my debit card plus a $100 deposit. I should have only been charged $230.00 for one night plus the refundable $100 deposit but the hotel charged me for two nights and blamed it on Booking.com even though the reservation clearly stated that I was only reserved for one night. I spoke with the manager and she blamed it on Booking.com and said it would take 7-10 days before I could see a refund for the difference. They never warned me about this prior to check in and I would have stayed elsewhere had I known they were going to charge me $449. Don't charge your guests for nights they didn't stay.
- Dewayne (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The check in staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): - Friendly staff both at check in and bar/restaurant.
- John (10/5): - The staff was fabulous. So friendly, welcoming and helpful. Pearl in the restaurant was wonderful. The location is great.
- John (2/5): - room was gross, sheets did not smell clean and smelled like BO. no soap in the shower at all shampoo or gel. food was good at the bar and good drinks. hot tub was nice and clean. Applebees across the parking lot was gross and terrible, went over there at 3pm to get a beer because hotel bar doesnt open until 5pm. overall I would just skip Gallup altogether, what a dump of a place !
- Skip (10/5): - The staff is always so friendly and helpful!
The place is nice and the bar/restaurant is quite good.
- William (2/5): - Hotel unfriendly to give guest member complimentary breakfast.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): This hotel exceeded all expectations and I would highly recommend. - The best hotel we experienced
On our travels from the east coast to the west coast. We were so pleased at the friendliness of the staff and the attitude when we brought our pets in. We don’t want to leave! Nothing, everything was wonderful!
- Karen (10/5): - I just loved this hotel. Front desk, Darla, was kind and so informative. Fun to have a bar and restaurant on site as well. Great location and very clean.
- Paul (8/5): Nice hotel in Gallup. - There was a mix-up in my reservations. I had an e-mail with a confirmed reservation for one night at the time I showed up. The hotel showed me having reservations for 2 nights starting the day after I showed up -- when I would already be gone. I am unclear whether the hotel or booking.com made the error as both blamed each other.
- Cassandra (2/5): - Old!!! These room need to be updated. The tubs are entirely too small, the rug in the hallways ride up, dangerous, I almost tripped over a couple of times
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danielle (10/5): Excellent - The remodel is beautiful! It is so nice to see a hotel do a remodel before is really run down. We enjoy staying here 2-3 times a year, it is our first choice!
- Marilyn (6/5): - The staff and continental breakfast and servers were excellent😍
- Relinda (10/5): - It was amazing as always
- Wayne (10/5): - Check in and out staff were very nice.
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (10/5): The perfect hotel in Gallup! - Excellent hotel! Staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean, quiet and modern. It appears that it may have been newly renovated with like-new furniture. The room was well equipped with a frig, microwave and keurig coffee maker. The restaurant opened at 5 pm and had a dinner and drinks menu. My steak was well cooked and my wife liked her salad. Restaurant staff were also attentive and friendly. Easy to access off the highway. Stayed here on an overnight from Phoenix on our way to Telluride for skiiing. It was a perfect spot to stop. There is a Walmart within walking distance as well as an Applebees (and other restaurants). There is even an Electrify America charging station within walking distance. They are in the process of repainting the some of the public spaces. All was good.
- Staci (6/5): Pleasant -
- Luann (9/5): Superb -
- Shelly (10/5): Great stay!! - Location, cleanliness, comfort, dining.
- Richard (9/5): Great location and facilities. Will be back - Really liked the food court Absolutely nothing
- Diana (8/5): Ok - Staff was friendly and facilities as expected. I didn't like that breakfast wasn't included. The cost for a crummy hotel breakfast was $17. I went a few doors away and had a much better breakfast at Cracker Barrel for less.
- Julie (10/5): - Excellent service
- George (8/5): Nice location for travel, near I-40. - Did not each breakfast Unfortunately, many of the guests that travel with pets do not clean up after their pets.
- Duane (6/5): Clean facilities and room but cold showers - Room was nice and clean Shower was only warm not hot. Told staff and no compensation. Tried again in morning still barely warm Wanted to go to differ motel but had already spent to much on room
- Bradley (10/5): Restful and comfortable - Excellent location N/A
- C3291XJjenniferw (10/5): The Best Place to Get Stranded - This was an unplanned visit as we landed here after blowing two tires on a pothole on interstate 40. The tow truck driver recommended this place because it was close to the Walmart which had a tire center next-door. The reservation was very last minute (8pm)The room was lovely, comfortable and very clean. Restaurant was good. The staff was incredibly helpful and very friendly. We were treated well!
- Brenda (8/5): - The shower had very low water pressure, took a long time to shower!
- Megan (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (10/5): - Great staff. Nice hotel and amenities. Good breakfast! We will definitely come again.
