Guest Reviews
- SUZANNE (8/5): - friendly staff
- Laura (10/5): Excellent! - The place is large and has a beautiful view. Many good spots to relax. The owner Mohan was amazing kind and helped me with everything I needed. He gave me a better room with view since he saw I came in with big luggage and he drove me to Kathmandu at 5 am in the morning so I could catch my bus to Pokhara at 7 am. Super kind🙏🏼
- Jenni (9/5): Nice stay in Nagarkot for one night before sunrise - The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful!!! Very accommodating and he even gave his number to us in case we needed anything at all during our stay. There were 2 large spiders in the room which the owner did help us remove from the room.
- Zeb (10/5): Great place to stay and get some rest! - Spacious room, really friendly owners and the best shower and pancakes we’ve had in weeks! The hotel is situated at a convenience and quiet spot between some nice hikes, viewpoints and good restaurants. We did get a heater as well, but didn’t have to use it. We would definitely stay here again!
- Ricky (4/5): Lovely owner but some rooms genuinely awful - The owner is lovely, really friendly and attentive and keen to be helpful. I think this is the reason they have so many positive reviews.
The food in the restaurant was also absolutely delicious.
Location good for both walking to viewpoints and walking into town. We had one room in the main building and one in a separate building. The room in the main building was OK, nice view, spacious, relatively comfy mattress, passable bathroom.
The room in the other building was terrible. Spacious sleeping area, but cold, and mattresses honestly like sleeping on wooden planks. Bathroom tiny, freezing cold, mouldy and window frame rotting away. For some reason they also like to open all the doors and windows of empty rooms in the day, so I shared my room with a variety of insects, including glow beetles that would land on my face in the night and a number of very large spiders (Aussies, think huntsmen). Did not make for an enjoyable or relaxing stay.
Both rooms were very, very cold in October but the blankets provided were nice and warm at least.
Owner is currently undertaking building works to expand - in my humble opinion they should be investing in improving the existing rooms first.
- Simran (10/5): Amazing stay! Never mind the arachnids! - Amazing staff. I mean really exceptional. The hosts made my whole stay. They treated me like a godchild or something spectacular like that. There was a spider in my room :(
- Gary (8/5): Quieter Option Away From Village - The owner kindly granted me a top-floor room with a view, and it was a pleasure chatting with him. The shower was strong and hot, though you have to request the owner to turn the heating unit on. There is a nice rooftop area from which to view the sunset/sunrise. I went in late October and the room can get cold even with two blankets. Although the location is a 10-minute walk from the center, and is quieter than other options, you can still hear barking dogs in the distance. Breakfast was a little expensive compared to another hotel I stayed at the night before.
- Raquel (9/5): Cozy accommodation in nature and kind host - Cozy accommodation in a beautiful area surrounded by nature and only 10 minutes walking from the city centre. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and it was peaceful and quiet. Our host was very kind and helpful during our stay. There was a small issue with the hot water and we had to wait for shower. It would also be nice to have a kettle or some utilities in the room.
- Kali (10/5): Paradise in Nagarkot - Staying here is the most beautiful place for anyonewho loves nature and is looking for peace and contentment while visiting Nagarkot. I kept extending because it was such a loverly and comfortable place to stay while fitting in a backpackers budget. The owner Mohan is a kind and lovely man who will go above and beyond to help you with anything and make you feel welcome. He helped me celebrate my birthday this year and it was such a special day. There is a big balcony for meditation and yoga surrounded by the garden, the food is great and authentic plus it is only a 10 min walk from town and 30min walk from the sunrise viewpoint. The rooms are comfortable and there is hot water showers if your feeling a bit cold after sunrise. It is a beautiful place to base yourself to immerse into hillside village hiking and enjoying the glorious views of the Himalays particularly at sunrise. Can't rate enough <3 Nothing

- Vuppuluri (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect stay -- great food, beautiful view from rooms, homely and peaceful place.
Enjoyed chatting with Mohan Das ji and great cooking by Sarita.
- รังสิมา (9/5): Superb - We had a pleasant stay at hotel mount.Paradise!! Very clean, tidy authentic peaceful atmosphes. Its surrounding by nature garden with beautiful flowers& organic fruits.
Mohan is super nice host!! He do care for every guests coming. We feels safe, relax like home there. Only Pure veg.foods service it very good especially aromatic masmati rice😋 but we like to have some meat sometimes😆
- Sitara (10/5): Exceptional - This place is outstanding. Anyone who loves nature will fall in love with this place. The host was very friendly and helpful.
- Vijay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Niu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Belle (9/5): Superb - Loved it here, my bed was so comfy and cosy.
The host was attentive and chatty which is always nice. 😊
You need to pre order food if you’d like it from their kitchen - it’s all freshly prepared and 100% vegetarian.
It’s located a short walk from the bus stop about 10/15 mins 🙂
- Pradeep (10/5): Exceptional - Actually, this hotel is located in a very beautiful place and the experience of staying in this hotel was very beautiful. The rooms here are very clean. Specially want to mention of the owner and the staff.
The owner, Mr. Mohan, is a very good flexible guy and the maid who treated me, Miss Sharitha, is a very kind woman. I really felt this place like my home. Don't forget to stay at this place if you are think to visit Nagarkot.
- Adrian (10/5): Lovely views, would stay again - Lovely and welcoming host! Very clean rooms, lovely food. Overall very happy
- Inon (10/5): Exceptional - it was very nice place very close to the nature with nice room and very professional staff. food - wow nothing to write
- Jeff (10/5): - I thought the staff was great, but this area and location is a bit rough, so you may face some cold nights and lack some creature comforts. I stayed 4 nights, which may have been two too many as there really wasn’t a whole lot to do at night. Still the day hiking was nice and the hotel restaurant was nice.
- Jeff (10/5): - I stayed at this property for four nights, and the staff were very kind. Surprisingly, the kitchen was pretty good, and I tried many Napali dishes that I had tried before. I will say that they were limited on a drink selection like cokes and other snacks. However, on the whole, I was happy with my stay.
- Matthias (8/5): I can absolutely recommend the Hotel Mount Paradise for a stay of several days - I spent a few relaxing days in Mount Paradise - my favorite place was on the roof terrace. I didn't miss anything, the staff was very nice and the food was very good. It‘s 15-minute walk from the bus station. nothing
- Ito (3/5): Poor - No proper hot water..
- James (8/5): Good value, good service and very chilled - The young man looking after guests had exceptionally good communication skills. He was friendly and had a good understanding of dietary requirements. Nice location and very peaceful. Room was stylish and quite Twin Peaks. Good Thali. I book as it was a vegetarian place. They now cook meat but separate to veg.
- Gunjan (5/5): Passable - Private bathroom Room rate is costier as per facilities and amenities provided by the hotel.. not as expected facilities and they charge for every services they provided. So, hotel is not as per value of their money.
- Kishore (8/5): Very good -
- Ndedi (8/5): Very good - in the area there was really not a lot to do, think the best to do is to make a bigger walk from here than just around the village, but the host was really sweet and helped me with the rest off my travels. and he has an nice lunchroom in Bahktapur what is nice to visit.
- Badr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laxman (9/5): Superb -
- Krabi (7/5): good spot in Nagarkot, once the renovation process has been completed. - location, nature, quietness gardens and facilities, renovation works in progress
- Damian (10/5): - Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. I would visit the country just to stay here. Fresh organic meals, friendly, courteous, professional staff, awesome views, perfect location, safe, accommodating, it's like staying with family!
- Timothy (10/5): A good value Hotel in the Mountains - A nice hotel located about 5minutes walk outside of Nagarkot Village on the road to the observation tower. Staff were friendly, the room was a good size, it had good WiFi and the shower had hot water. The only small criticism I have is the beds were slightly hard however I would still definitely recommend this hotel to people on a budget.
- Megan (8/5): Sweet hotel in a nice peaceful setting. - So many hotels in Nagarkot, so it was good to have the photo and know what we were looking for. Once we were on the right road - directed on it by showing someone the picture - we soon spotted it nestled into the hill side.
The room was clean and adequate for an overnight stay. Beds were comfortable with clean bedding and the shower was great - good supply of hot water with a power boost so there was plenty of water pressure (unlike other places we have stayed).
We didn't eat there so cannot comment on food but the Nepali chiya was good.
Shame we had clouds so didn't actually see mountains but still a stunning view from our bedroom window.
No hidden extras - you get all as promised like water and wifi in the room at no extra cost (we have been charged for both in other places)
Very happy with our stay. great value for money.
- Alice (10/5): Great for food, service and to stay - Lovely owner, clean rooms, hot shower, great food.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - cold rooms, no heating, expensive room for no breakfast included, poor staff service, no hot water
- Verified traveler (4/5): good but need improvement - good but need improvement
- sk (10/5): Nice hotel on windy hill - Good view from room. Independent resort type rooms. Cooked to order food. Value for money.
- skap (8/5): Nice resort type hotel - at windy hill - Homely place - we were ther for a night with our grown up children . Enjoyed the stay . Nagarkot is small place and we walked our way to town with small shops. Good and clear view of hotel rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Honest staff, clean hotel - The staff at this hotel are incredible. They work so hard to make sure your stay is perfect and on top of that, they're really honest people. From
The advice they give to the prices they charge, it's so reasonable and so honest. The rooms are so clean with crisp white linens, and really comfortable as well. There's also warm water always! About the food, it's an entirely vegetarian restaurant. I'm not a vegetarian, but the food was incredible. It was full of flavour, fresh ingredients, always served warm and so filling. Portions are very large and prices are incredibly honest. The views too are fantastic, and it's right on the path to the view tower of the mountain range. I would absolutely recommend this hotel as a peaceful getaway for my friends and family visiting Nepal.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful location. - We enjoyed our stay, very pleasant staff. The hotel has good views of the mountains when there few clouds. Located in a peaceful and beautiful position.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Solid place to stay in a wonderful area. I would stay again. Food there is good too.
- Dorothea (10/5): Mount Paradise - a truly beautiful gem of a hotel - On my first trip to Nepal I wanted to experience thus country away from the biggest tourist hubs around Pokhara and the Everest area. I chose Nagarkot as at 2000 m altitude it offers beautiful views of the Himalayan range as well as offering the opportunity to get to remoter villages and getting to know Napalese culture and people.
I was looking for affordable accommodation and could not have wished for better than Mount Paradise. The friendliness of the staff who looked after me in every possible way, the lovely location surrounded by woods with views to the Kathmandu valley as well as some of the Himmalayan peaks, a huge range of vegetarian food and a little garden to chill out in - it was the perfect base for me frim which to explore the area. It is more than likely that I shall be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): very nice place... completely worth the drive... - i'm glad that i made a last-minute decision to stay up here instead of in kathmandu... the nepali people whom i have met have been among the nicest people in the world, and while i'm sure that i would have thought this had i stayed in kathmandu, i really appreciated getting into the countryside where the air is cleaner and roads are less crowded... i caught a glimpse of the high himalayas during an easy sunrise hike from the hotel... definitely a positive experience in nagarkot...
- BEHZAD (8/5): Amazing hospitality - That was a wonderful experience. Special thanks to Mr. Mohan, the hotel manager who is truly doing his job with his heart. Nice hospitality and wonderful vegeterian breakfast and dinner. Hotel is located on the way of Nagarkot trail to its view tower. The only concern is that our room was too cold and it was kind of making us discomfort. The room was too big with a wonderful view of the Valley but heather was too weak and unpractical. Overall we stayed 2 memorable nights in Nagarkot and in Hotel Mount Paradise.
- Peter (8/5): Quiet Location away from town - We stayed in March which is a cooler time of year, so the room was cold. The rooms are fairly small but comfortable. Mohan who was really helpful provided extra blankets and a small heater. Unfortunately the main building this time of year is in shadow for most of the day. There is a garden here which catches the sun but no comfortable seating available, comfy chairs are in the pipeline. It would have been nice to have been able to sit out in the warm spring sun. Good vegetarian food available but not much protein included. We discussed this aspect with Mohan and he will look at including some tofu or paneer into some of the dishes. They do not use any eggs here. Wifi was good. It's easy to walk down into town (10 minutes) and up to a great view point approx 2 kilometers away, the tower/view point is a further 30/40 minutes walk. Good view of the Himalayas from the hotel depending on weather conditions. Overall a good place to stay but not exceptional.
- RESHMA (10/5): Fantastic Stay in Nagarkot - We had a great experience in Mount Paradise hotel. The owner Mohan was really good. He was helping us on each and every options around Nagarkot.
- Ethan (10/5): - The hotel was very comfortable. The owner was very nice and helped us get a car back to Kathmandu. I would recommend this hotel.
- Leena (8/5): Nice place to stay - We stayed three nights at Mount Paradise and very impressed by the way the small hotel is run by Mohan. He has a lot of ideas how to develop it further. Vegetarian food was tasty.
Mount Paradise is a good starting point for day treks in the surrounding villages and walks to the watch tower.
