The reception staff is lovely and always welcomed us with a smile. If I visit Koh Mak again, I will definitely go back there. Overall, it was a really great experience!

• Roxanne (10/5): Beautiful pool and lovely staff - Amazing relaxing stay which I extended twice. Lovely staff, the manager speaks perfect English so easy to arrange everything. Rooms are a bit small and simple but everything you need and super comfortable beds. Good AC and hot water. The view is great and it’s really peaceful. The pool area is like a resort. No need to leave the site if you didn’t want to as you can get all meals there and use the kayaks, little beach etc. The property is very remote which is great for peace but you need a moped realistically to go anywhere. Easy to arrange and roads very quiet for beginners but to walk to any restaurants it’s dark and spooky through the forest. WiFi generally slow. Would be great if a little extra cleaning in the bathroom was done for longer stays and a few more full length sun loungers by the pool.

• ŠPELA (7/5): Ne bi se več vrnila. - Zajtrk zelo dober. Lokacija me ni navdušila. Osebje po Resort se zelo trudi in ves čas čistijo okolico. Tudi sam Resort je zelo lepo zasnovan. Hiške čisto dovolj prostorne. Zelo pa me je zmotilo, da je posteljnina tako dotrajana, da imaš občutek, da ležiš na umazani. Prav tako brisače. To dvoje je sigurno pokazatelj marsičesa.

• Nadia (7/5): Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr ruhig. - Pool, tolle Aussicht, AC, sehr sauber, Room Service wenn benötigt. Ökologische Haltung. Scooter Vermietung direkt im Hotel. Das Personal sehr freundlich. Pool Tücher jeden Tag frisch zur Nutzung zur Verfügung gestellt. Leider ist der Stand nicht sehr schön direkt beim Resort, erinnert eher an einen See (bräunlich-grünlich und schlammig zum dein stehen), wir fuhren mit dem Scooter immer an andere Strände. Leider haben die Bungalows nur sehr dünne und helle Vorhänge und dadurch wird es ab 7.30 am sehr hell im Zimmer und für Lichtempfindliche Langschläfer ist das ein No Go. Ich nahm Pool Towels und versuchte so gut möglich abzudunkeln. Das Essen vom Resort-Restaurant (Tom Kha Suppe mit Chicken und French Fries) war extrem schlecht. Fast schon ungeniessbar. Über die viel zu wenig frittierten Fries wurde getrockneter Oregano in rauen Mengen drüber gestreut - sehr unpassend, zudem wurden sie bereits fast kalt serviert. Das Hühnchen in der Suppe war trocken und zäh als ob es stundenlang gekocht worden wäre. Auch der Geschmack der Suppe war für Thais sehr enttäuschend (meine in der Schweiz war noch besser!).

Beautifully landscaped, own tiny beach where you can swing over clear waters, gorgeous pool, super peaceful, nice restaurant, lovely, clean, round air-conditioning posh "huts', good hot showers and large dressing area. Plus the sweetest people working there! Very helpful. Only downsides, the rooms had no full length mirrors, and as I'm short, I could only ever see the top half of my head before I went out. PUT SOME MIRRORS IN THE ROOMS PLEASE! Also, you need to hire a bike/scooter, which the reception will glady organise for you, to get to any other cafe/ bar if you wanted to dine elsewhere, which made us feel slightly like hostages to their good, but somewhat-for-Thailand expensive restaurant. Still, compared to Europe, it's a bargain. And it is PARADISE! I spent my whole time there smiling.

Due to the location not that near to a store it would be nice if they had refill water station. A few close restaurants that we walked to - about 20 mins. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway

Resort is very well taken care of and all bungalows are being renovated. Fabulous views and lots of butterflies flying around the resort. Very clean Nice pool Nice staff! Location is a bit out of the way, but the views are nice and the island is small, so not a biggie. Rent a motorbike or EV (golf cart) to get around. We first had breakfast near the pool bar, where there are superb views. Later this was unfortunately no longer possible and breakfast had to be had at the restaurant / bar, did not like this location and building. Small red sand beach (though resort is very honest that their beach is limited)

• Simon (9/5): Paradise - Perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Thailand. The resort was very chilled. Decent pool and great scenery. The beds were very comfortable. B was very welcoming and hilarious. Limited menu at the restaurant/bar which closes around 20:30.

• Jaaceelynn (10/5): Couldn't have been better. - The staff are incredible. They're friendly, sweet, welcoming, and fun. This place also not only overlooks the island but has a private entrance to the beach as well as its own swimming pool and restaurant in addition to that. The breakfast at the restaurant is good value for money as well. The staff are also extremely helpful when it comes to organizing things like transport, food, contacting tour companies, etc. Bonus points: - They have cats and dogs - The beds are shockingly comfy and I was given a bolster/side pillow as well, which I don't find often when travelling - The staff saw that it was my birthday and surprised me with a birthday waffle and ice cream, just so sweet. They even went the extra mile when I said I was hungry later that night when everything was closed, offering to show me around the island in case anything was still open. The floors were slightly dusty, which I suspect might be due to sand. This is minor though and I'm just being picky. Excellent stay and I can't recommend this place enough. This is probably the best place to stay on the island.

• Melanie (10/5): An absolute taste of paradise - Contact with Bee was fantastic, arranged pick up from the pier for us so we had a smooth and welcoming arrival to the resort along with their speciality elixir health drink! All the staff were friendly and helpful, the food and drinks served from the cafe were delicious. The pool was outstanding and the bungalows were beautiful, kept clean and tidy daily and restocked with water. The location is stunning with a small beach great for snorkelling and kayaking and a pier with a swing at the end to watch the most amazing sunsets over this truly beautiful island. We didn’t want to leave!! Nothing it was all amazing.

They made everything in their power to make the stay as comfortable and fun as possible for our children and that is priceless. There was a playing ground that our 2.5 year old son loved. The swimming pool was great. If we knew how fantastic this place was, we would have stayed longer. It Food was ok but nothing special and a bit expensive (since this is Thailand, that still means comparatively good and inexpensive food). Room was perfect for two adults but a bit narrow for two adults plus 2 small children. We knew that, however, and the staff made all efforts to still make it comfortable, which worked well.
• Lodge (9/5): Superb - The lovely ladies in reception are very helpful and welcoming The bed and pillows were comfortable. Quite location with stunning view. Lovely pier for fishing. The pool was excellent and a welcome relief from the sun with plenty of sun loungers and clean towels. Would definitely need a scooter to get around, which can be arranged at reception and also free transfers to the pier. The TV was very old and didn't work but was not a problem for us. Didn't use restaurant but places a short ride away and good local supermarket.

Not well maintained room, cracks in ceiling, very old and rusty fridge, AC didn't work properly and no remote for it, we asked for one and no one would help. No storage room at all, dusty, dirty bathroom. Overpriced for the quality, expected alot more.

The sea is not good for swimming, the water is muddy and not nice, as in many places of Koh Mak island.

Für die anderen Strände und Restaurants in Koh Mak braucht es einen Scooter. Würde es wieder buchen.

The food in the restro is delicious and the staff very nice. Facilities are great. There are no bugs in the bungalow, airco works great and the bathroom is huge. The hotel manager is also very kind and helpful. Its the most idyllic experience! I stayed here for 8 days due to a foot injury but I could have stayed forever. Really fell in love with this place! It's a bit far from restaurants but the hotel staff can arrange a Motorbike for you or you rent a bicycle yourself. The island is very small thus there is no issue to get around. I would still choose to stay here due to amazing view

• Hannah (9/5): Superb - - Beautiful huts that overlook the sea - You can see sunrise beautifully and a partial sunset view - Swimming pool is fantastic, very clean, and amazing view - Comfortable bed and good working aircon - Helpful and friendly staff - the lady that manages the property is excellent at her role, and will help you with everything and is very kind - If you don’t rent a bike it is harder to get around but the hotel was happy to help with the taxi to get to other beaches and equally you can rent a motorbike from the hotel for 250baht per day - Friendly cats and dogs on the property - considering there is no other restaurant in close walking distance, the restaurant on site could be better with more choices and open all times, and especially be open at the times they say they will be open! - Could offer a simple desert/ice cream - Prices for breakfast are expensive and not flexible as you have to pay 200 baht for a set - even if you don’t want everything on that particular set. For children this also does not work as they will not eat a full portion for 200baht, and you are not allowed to simply order something small for them such as toast/small pancake for a cheaper price.

The view was fantastic, just beatiful. Infinity pool. For us the place was to far Swayze from other shops and restaurants, you needed a motorbike. Staff was very help full.

The resort is in the middle of nature, I stayed in a bungalow with a sea view and can absolutely recommend it. The rooms are large and absolutely clean, very comfortable beds, great A/C and a large bathroom with hot water. The magical Miss Puu is a very lovely person, takes care of everything, is always available and always available for a little chat, which is very pleasant. • SUTHAT (10/5): พักผ่อนชิวๆ - ที่พักสงบเงียบ พนักงานดูแลดีมาก อาหารอร่อยมากๆ โดยเฉพาะลาบปลา (แนะนำให้ทาน) การเดินทางก็ไม่ลำบาก การขับรถกลางคืนก็ต้องระวัง เพราะ ทางเข้าเป็นโค้ง น้ำทะเลใสมากๆ
• Ben (10/5): - Peaceful place and friendly staff. Drinks can get a bit stronger and of more variety.
• 2tubby (10/5): 2 Night Short Break - Stayed for 2 nights in mid may. Staff very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. Rooms very clean and good view from patio. Pool also good although with the tiles being brown in colour not the most attractive. Food in restaurant very good and cheap. Little bit isolated but staff will call for taxi if you want to go out. Also pick you up from pier when you arrive. Can buy return ferry tickets at the hotel too for the same price as at the pier so would not bother buying return ticket on way out.
