Guest Reviews
- Catherine (9/5): Magical - a quiet, serene and quite lovely experience - We found this after our Expedia booking for a night at Samode Bagh was cancelled despite us having paid upfront. It left us suddenly needing an alternative place to stay in between nights at Jaipur and Mandawa - but it was one of those problems that ends up with a magical solution.
It’s not often you get a chance to stay in an ancient palace and - as the sole guests for one night - the experience was quite surreal. Turning from an unpromising street through a gate and into such beautiful grounds, you're met by an astonishing building and an immediate sense of peace. Surrounded by craggy hills, the remnants of old forts and the sound of birds, we spent a very happy late afternoon and morning wandering around and sitting and reading on the enormous upper terrace. After the bustle of Jaipur it was perfect - and felt like stepping back in time; a little faded but still beautiful, romantic and gentle.
We were served a delicious dinner and breakfast in the dining room and borrowed a yoga mat to enjoy the private terrace in front of our lovely room, with views to the gardens at the front of the hotel. For some reason this historic palace seems not to be well known by touring groups - apparently there were more before Covid - but it’s an amazing find and would be a great stop on the way back from Jaipur to Delhi. The only reason for giving it 9 rather than 10 is that, probably because it was so quiet when we were there, the pool’s fountains weren’t working, there were no towels or cushions out on the lounge chairs and the hotel had a slightly closed down feel.
- Heath (10/5): Royal accommodations with royal treatment. - Everything about this place was absolute excellence. Service was perfect. Food was perfect. Accommodations were perfect. Staff was amazing and Ratan seems to be everywhere all of the time and will not let you lift a finger or want for anything. I extended my stay by several days just because the place is so amazing, relaxing, and almost like a fantasy come true. You can imagine the royalty and being a part of it. I plan to return to India just to visit this amazing place and people again. Leaving.

- Amiya (10/5): A hidden gem among the royal palaces of Rajasthan - Nestled in a valley surrounded by hills this quaint royal palace in the city of Patan, Rajasthan is strikingly grand and majestic in appearance yet completely explorable in a day. This palace with a huge entrance into it's opulent foyer, beautiful terrace courtyard, an inner courtyard which can host small gatherings, dining hall and a swimming pool is an exceptional hidden gem among the royal palaces of Rajasthan.
The royal suite was very spacious and remarkable with its high ceiling, huge enclosed balcony, big bathroom, a ledge inside the room (via stairs) with small windows leading to a small circular room with lots of windows. The terrace courtyard is stunning with it’s mosaic floors, arches and the grand view of the hills around the palace.
Responsive and cooperative hosts (maybe current members of the royal family) along with super courteous staff who are always eager to assist you. Special mention to Mr. Ratan who guided us for the last few kms and was always available for any of our queries.
Celebrating our New Year here was truly an unforgettable experience. Situated around 5 hrs drive from Delhi this heritage property is highly recommended for short getaways.
- Bhat (9/5): Superb -
- Shilpa (9/5): Need more non veg food variety - Room Food varieties
- Craig (10/5): Highly recommend for a stay to relax - The Palace grounds are beautifully cared for. The staff and standard of service was excellent.
- Christodoulos (9/5): It’s unique experience to stay in a Palace - Heritage hotel. Friendly people, nice food, amazing place highly recommende -
- Devendranath (10/5): Fabulous stay and will surely come back - Amazing palace, cleanliness, very supportive staff and the overall ambience was very good. Frankly nothing I could think of
- Kumar (8/5): A short getaway from Delhi for a relaxing vacay - It's a nice and accessible place for a relaxing getaway from Delhi within 4 hrs. I would suggest following the location given by the property staff instead of Google maps.
The staff was excellent, always there for our needs and very courteous. I would like to thank Ratan ji, who was our one stop person for anything.
The property and the rooms are beautiful, modern needs fused with the history of the place.
Dinner and lunch were great!
Activities to do - hike to Badal Mahal fort, chill at the poolside, check out their kitchen garden, play table tennis and board games Breakfast could have been better
- Rohit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikhil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohdriaz66 (8/5): Very good - Heritage nature of property Food
- Sneha (8/5): Great weekend getaway, Book on website! - Quiet and calm. Great Views It's better to book it directly as the property offers way cheaper rates than booking.com. We ended up paying 6k extra on food since they do only buffets. It could have been either adjusted as per original offered rate or the property shouldn't have such different price on its site. That was a huge and the only disappointment which did not leave us feel good.
