Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): - Staff are very attentive and welcoming.
Rooms are spotless and well appointed.
Great restaurant and delicious food.
We would stay at Riboville whenever we visit Johannesburg.
- Jaylene (8/5): - Beautiful building and site. Staff was very laid back and not attentive and the restaurant service was very very slow and the server lack knowledge about the menu and knew nothing about the 10 page wine list. The food was excellent when it arrived.
- Hannes (8/5): - Great stay, big room, but the tv was old, not a smart tv and there were no coffee in the room.
The staff could have been friendlier as well. The doors in the area where the rooms are were very load and woke us more than once during the evening.
- Marina (8/5): - The staff is excellent! While the hotel/rooms could do with an upgrade, the staff is top-notch (and they are currently updating the rooms).
- Kerry (4/5): - Our visit was highly disappointing. I chose the property as it was close to work and for the amenities for my spouse. The pool was closed, the gym was 1km away and the staff did not know about the hiking paths. The food was good, and the spa person was very good. We asked for some repairs on our room and rather than doing a quick fix as required the room was not available for the entire afternoon. The staff were aware of the issues mentioned and comped us a meal, but the point of choosing the property was lost due to the issues with amenities.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Noisy and service is not personal for a boutique - We could not rest the hotel is extremely noisy from early in the morning with cleaning staff and patron making a noise from 6am. It was not a restful at experience. The hotel surrounding is nice and rooms are big and spacious
- Shamie (10/5): - A small boutique hotel in a beautiful setting with beautiful gardens. The location is excellent, offering a serene environment but close to shopping areas and the mall of Africa.
Room was exquisite with a large king size bed.
The restaurant was a letdown - pricey but service slow and not attentive
- Ruhan (8/5): Beautiful but service needs work - Absolutely stunning hotel. However, the staff were very unhelpful and rude
- jack (10/5): Hidden treasure - This is a spectacular property. Extremely unique and way better than I expected. The staff at the hotel are all very professional and extremely friendly and helpful. We had excellent food at every meal. We stayed at the hotel twice on our visit and then extended our stay a couple of extra days we were enjoying ourselves so much. The air-conditioning worked very well, that is some thing you have to check in South Africa because not every place has air conditioning. The room was large and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. This is a boutique hotel with only 16 rooms each of them has either a view of the polo field which is amazing or water surrounding the hotel out the back which is also beautiful. We stayed on both sides. I would say this place was a great surprise and a hidden treasure. We absolutely plan to return. I will be staying there on my next visit without question.
- jack (10/5): Second enjoyable stay at the Riboville - We stayed here on our fist night in the area. Went on a safari for three days and decided to return to the Riboville. This is a beautiful property with great food and delightful staff. Everyone goes above and beyond to see to every need and request.
- janice (10/5): Night away - Beautiful location. Excellent service. Spacious rooms and lovely decor.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful property and amazing staff. Rooms are very large and well appointed and view of polo field is gorgeous, especially in the morning. Very good food in the restaurant, available for dine in or via room service.
Beautiful place and very much look forward to the opportunity to stay again. William and his team are fantastic. Thank you!
- YVES (10/5): Again and again - It has been several times that I am staying at Riboville - Always for business. A bit on the expensive side but justified by the large comfortable rooms + huge bathrooms, impeccable service, calm and peaceful surroundings (easy access to road network) etc … Breakfast is tempting and dinner tasty. Never tried lunch. I do recommend this hotel (great for business conference as well).
- Adwoa (10/5): A home away from Home - I recently moved to Johannesburg on an expat assignment and stayed at the Riboville while I searched for and finalized my permanent accommodation. The staff, the accommodation and the general warm reception made it feel like home. I had super heavy bags as I had practically moved my whole life with for the assignment and everyone helped carry my things in when I arrived and out when I was leaving. All my friends I had come over for dinner at the hotel loved the general atmosphere and the service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Understated luxury hidden in Midrand- far from the madding crowd in Johannesburg!
It will become my go to place
- Annelisa (10/5): Hidden Gem - From check-in to dinner and breakfast, everything was perfect. Great location as well.
- Annelisa (8/5): - Good value for money..
- Nancy (10/5): Amazing refreshing experience - Amazing , refreshing experience
- Samuel (10/5): Totally recommend - Fantastic service
- Steven (10/5): Outstanding - Amazing
