- Brenda (3/5): I won't stay there again - The room itself was ok, but the TV didn't work at all when I first got there. After they worked on it, I got 5 or 6 channels, none of the main channels worked. Fortunately, I did not spend a lot of time in my room. There was a hole in the bathroom wall where the shower curtain rod went into the wall. And a working TV would have been appreciated.

Danville, KY
After a long drive from Lehighton, Pennsylvania we arrived tired and hungry at the Red Roof Inn Plus in Danville, Kentucky. Angela Wilkes was the front desk clerk who checked us in. Ms Wilkes had problems finding that we had prepaid and proceeded to tell me we both had to pay fees to a third party hotel room app and it was not smart to use those apps. They double dip on the payment.
When the front desk clerk announced our room number an assistant sitting beside of her immediately hopped up with a can of Febreze Room Deoderizer and walked down the first floor hall.
We received our key cards and proceeded to the room. The room was very cold. It smelled of
freshly sprayed Febreze Room Deoderizer. My husband turned up the heat, then pulled down the bed covers to expose the sheets to warm the bed for sleeping. The bed sheets were filthy. Like someone slept with shoes on and drooled on the pillows. I went to the front desk and explained our dissatisfaction with the condition of the filthy bed.
Ms Wilks informed me she was alone. She could come down and change the sheets after while or she could change our room. We accepted the room change and were reassigned a room now on the second floor.
Upon entering the room, it was also cold. Of course a bed sheet inspection was in order. Turning down the sheets in the second room we had an even worse discovery. Small dark curley hair. We would seriously describe as “pubic hair”. How disgusting. We certainly expected pristine bedding in the second room we were offered. That was not the case. We had never stayed in a Red Roof Inn before and will never book one in the future.
After finding the hair in the second room’s bed sheets we proceeded to the front desk to explain our extreme dissatisfaction AGAIN with the room and request Ms Wilkes refund our payment. We explained we would not be staying in this hotel. Ms Wilkes explained she could not refund our payment. I would have to contact...

- William (10/5): - Very comfortable room and bed. A great stay for sure!
- Stacy (10/5): Wish there was smoking - Everything was great No rooms that are smoking which I think just about all hotels should have smoking rooms upstairs top floor

- Gabriel (1/5): Trash hotel, look absolutely anywhere else. Sleep in your vehicle first. - Placed in a good location. Thats the only good thing I have to say about it. When we entered the hotel there were candles on the counter to cover the smell. The closer we got to the room the worse it got. The smell in the room was unbearable. Cigarette burns and ashes on the blankets. Ashes all over the desk. The tub was filthy. We didnt stay, we left and got refunded a whole 11 dollars. Would never go back.

- Cheryl (10/5): -
- Pringle (3/5): - The reception staff were nice, the management staff were dismissive of problems we encountered.
Breakfast was acceptable. We found an adult bedbug. Left it in reception for the manager's comment. She denied it was a bedbug, said she didn't see it. We were moved to a stinking room which she said didn't smell. The fridge leaked, there was no iron, no extra pillows, dog poo all around the parking lot on the grass. Generally it's a no from us and I would give it 1 star. Asked for a refund of one room for 1 night and Red Roofs said no.
- Johanna (1/5): Would never recommend - The breakfast was passable. The receptionist was friendly. Management staff are not. First we found a bed bug, so we got moved, but to a nasty smelling room, leaking fridge, no iron, no extra pillows. There was dog poo on the grass round the parking lot. We complained to the management and she brushed off everything, We complained further to Red Roof, and they offered some stupid credit points, so they didn't care either. Don't recommend it and will never go back.
- Reynard (4/5): -
- Robbie (1/5): Not good - Room was not clean. Rust on toilet paper holder. Filthy towel, blood on bathroom door, unfinished plaster repair. We checked out after 1 night. I have requested a refund
- Mccormick (10/5): -
- Clark (10/5): our stay was great - the warming welcome the friendliness of front desk clean n/a
- Daniel (6/5): It was exactly what I needed. - Location Location
- Peggy (3/5): - Bedding sheets and pillows old and worn out
- kenneth (5/5): -
- martha (1/5): I am a real person and this is a real review.Do not stay here - The location was good but not a place you want to stay. The room smell was horrific. There was no way we could have stayed in this room. We had booked in advance through booking.com. The smell was so bad we chose not to stay; yet neither the booking company nor the hotel would take responsibility and refused to refund the change we incurred when we booked the room. When we arrived the room door was propped open trying to air out the room so they were fully aware there was a We only took two steps into the room and then backed out. Then coughed for two days trying to clear our throats from whatever it was we had inhaled stepping into the room
- Lisa (2/5): It was the only room available in town and should we come up against this again we would change dates of our trip to obt - The property was were we needed to be. The property is old and shows its age. The first thing I noticed when entering the room was an unpleasant odor. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The towels were thin and dingy.
- Meredith (8/5): -
- John (8/5): -
- M. Grey (4/5): - Shower was broken on the last two stays. First time the staff basically told us to take a bath instead of a shower. They finally came and forced the plunger for the shower into posistion so the shower would somewhat work. It was still broken on this visit.
- ANGELA (5/5): It was okay - The front ladies were very nice The bathroom toilet seat was broken. The floor wasn’t vacuumed and there was a funny mildew smell in the room
- Sandra (10/5): Great stay for a great price! - Very clean hotel and staff were very friendly. I even brought a tool to check the bed and room and nothing showed up. Very impressed! Beds were comfortable.
- RHONDA (10/5): - Property was great for ragnar. Very accommodating and friendly.
- Nancy (4/5): - Everything from the exterior to much of the interior seems “”worn out” or well used. The mattress was lumpy as were the pillows. The bedspreads and sheets though they seemed clean were many times washed etc. The staff were friendly but it seems we’re given not much to work with and the room though supposedly nonsmoking had a heavy odor of
Covering up previous smoke.
- Kim (10/5): - Clean and the staff were a grate help I just wish you could have home fries too.
- Ashley (7/5): - Location was great, staff was friendly, AC worked great, and breakfast was good. The beds could use an upgrade, and the sinks (although pretty) were very high, and I'm 5'3". Our bathroom mirror was also really messed up, but I saw them working on several things. So, I'd say give them a year, and they might have the upgrades completed.
- Lisa (3/5): Very disappointed - I like the price I had called a hotel where we normally stay. It was more than $100 over your price. Myself and my handicap sister arrived at 10 minutes until three. We was informed that our room was not ready and they said that it may take about 30 minutes. We sat and waited for about 40 minutes. They said that we could go into the room there was no cover on the bed. The room was not vacuumed And was not clean. My sister went down to asked for a cover. They gave her a sheet I have never stayed in a hotel where they didn’t have some type of cover on the bed.
- Jeremiah (4/5): - The room stunk with an odor like a cross between wet dog and stale cigarettes even went to walmart and bought air freshener but still didn't help..the shower head barely worked and was about to fall off..the ac unit didnt work..i didnt bother complaining about it to the staff since i was barely in the room..This was my 2nd time staying here and 2nd time that it was bad..i chose this hotel for the convenience of the event i was attending..Next year i will definitely be staying somewhere else even if i have to drive a little further to my destination..Its not the worst place ive stayed but it is in serious need of maintenance and deep cleaning especially after people have had pets in the rooms.
- Beth (6/5): - Clean room, great service, big it was very dirty outside. Littered with cigarettes
- Mauriza (8/5): - Close to everything No vending/pool Good breakfast
- Heather (10/5): Best last minute - Always helped any time of the day or night, would have stayed longer but found place to stay. But definitely cheapest and best hotel in Danville
- jon (2/5): - Overall i will never stay again. I search to make sure they had washer and dryer and said they did but they didnt. Vending machine out of order, ice machine barely worked. Hallway very loud after m8dnight. Staff only made a decent breakfast if they felt like it. Terrible stay
- David (4/5): - The locals were stunned that I stayed at Red Roof in Danville KY and I understand why. Dirty, trash cans over flowing and the grounds as well. Pool area closed for good after what looked like a nuclear event .
- Heidi (6/5): - The room had a musty smell, and there were some stains on towels and bedding, plus a few tiny ants in the bathroom. The TV in my room didn’t work, and there was no door hanger to either say do not disturb or ask for housekeeping. But the staff was all welcoming, friendly, helpful, and if all you needed was a place to sleep, the room was good enough for the price.

- the Rodriguez's (7/5): -
- CHRISTY (5/5): -
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Christina (4/5): - There was no toilet paper, floor was sticky and the room smelled. Worn furniture and it. Seems this place is just a long term stay for workers.
- Laura (4/5): - The first room was terrible. There was a nasty stench in the room. Bathroom door was broken, no trash can in the bathroom, the floor was dirty and the air conditioner didn’t work. We requested another room since all of the other hotels in the area were completely booked. The second room was slightly better but the floors were not clean, there was no trash can in the bathroom nor hand soap. We stayed at this hotel with 5 other family members and they had the same sub-par rooms in varying degrees. The staff did their best to accommodate with what they had. We will never stay at a Red Roof Plus again.
- Jian (8/5): - Good Location and big Room. Nice staff. Poor breakfast.
- Stephen (5/5): - Price Mold
- Nicole (8/5): - Breakfast was skimpy. But free
- Charles (8/5): - It’s cleaner and nicer than the more expensive motel over across the street.
- Victoria (2/5): - No one asked how my stay was when I checked out at the front desk, otherwise I would have let them know. The room should never have been sold with these issues: Gap between bottom of door, door lock broken.
Bathroom door scrapes the floor.
Hair on toilet, hair on clean folded towels.
Mirror covered in some film, looked like it had been wiped by a dirty rag. There was an actual dirty used rag hanging on the shower curtain rod.
Bed linens not washed, pillows smelled dank.
Room smelled like cigarette smoke. Actual bed had not been maintained, had large gap on one side making it a very uncomfortable sleep even if the linens had been cleaned and the whole room hadn’t been covered in filth.
Rug between beds and underneath filthy, visibly covered in debris. Hadn’t been vacuumed.
Very thin walls, could hear every thing going on outside of room, every door closing, every conversation, likely worse because of the giant gap between the hotel door and the floor. Refrigerator was dusty, dust on nightstand. The ironing board was rusty as was the luggage stand. Worst hotel experience ever.
- david (6/5): - Did not like the carpet deoderizer and floor sanitizer that permeates the whole building
- Cathy (8/5): - Clean close to everything convenient Could use face-lift looks old tired
- Kelly (8/5): - Location
- Cheryl (8/5): It served our purpose well. - Well, there was only fruit juice and coffee, no orange juice. There was no salt for the eggs. I personally like sausage patties and there was only links. I was not really impressed with the breakfast. The breakfast could have been much better. Our room was nice. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
- Elisa (6/5): - The bedspreads were very wrinkled and one had burn holes
- M. Grey (7/5): -
- Robin (9/5): Great location, comfortable bed, breakfast included - Perfect location for the 127 yard sale! They offered a breakfast even though my booking did not include breakfast. And the bed was the most comfortable of the 4 nights we spent! Cleaning could have been better....found a toe nail on the floor near the bed.
- Bonnie (8/5): - Location Customers yelling in lobby plastic on beds
- Greer (3/5): We will not stay in red roof again - The room smelled terrible. I had to go back up the van and get air freshener. The outside had trash laying around
- Elisa (6/5): - Very dimly lit room. Wrinkled bedspread with burn holes. Over flowing trash at back side door.
- Deanne (8/5): Would stay again! - Greeted promptly, friendly front desk both checking in and checking out. Breakfast was more than expected. Eggs and sausage. Room was larger than expected, quiet and clean. Walked to dinner at the mexican restaurant. Food and service was great. Did not see anything to confirm previous complaints made in the reviews
