• Sailaja (8/5): - Convenient to Port. Reasonable price of €5 if you want a breakfast. Balcony view of Port. Very friendly and professional reception staff. Only slight issues are : 1.No plug points next to the bed if you want to charge and work on your phone or a Laptop. 2. Shower qubicle is a bit dark as there is a wall between the light on the top of the mirror and the shower.
• DANIEL (8/5): - Great property. Wonderful staff. Very clean rooms. It was quite noisy at night from within the hotel which was a distraction. Also, the beds are much too hard for anyone with back issues. Finally, the toilets in the basement should have toilet seats to accommodate travellers from around the world. Thank you!
• MICHALIS (10/5): Clean and convenient - Enjoyable 2-night stay in Syros. Very good location, opposite the ferry terminals and right next to the bus station. About 7-8 min walk to the centre of town. Professional and friendly staff both at the reception desk and at the breakfast area. Hotel was very clean.

Be- und Entladen zusieht, von der Fähre stolpern, und schon ist man im Hotel, super freundliche und hilfsbereite (-fähige) Mitarbeiter, tolles griechisches Frühstück, Zimmer top, WLAN auch top (wer's braucht), Busse ins Landesinnere (Kini beach) in zwei Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar, kurz gesagt: Es fehlt an nichts.

• Anne (10/5): - This is a lovely hotel! Easy walk from the port and everything you could want in Ermoupoli. We had a beautiful, clean and comfortable room. Loved the balcony and built in clothes rack to dry swim suits and towels.
• ROGER (8/5): - Good value, good standard hotel perfectly located if you need somewhere to stay after an evening ferry. You get off the boat and it’s staring you in the face. Only a few minute stroll away from all the main bars and restaurants which are open late. Very helpful staff who gave me a room upgrade. Nice!

Con: Only issue was poor lighting in shower as there was only one light above the vanity mirror with a wall in between shower and sink.

• James (10/5): - The hotel used to be a warehouse. It was converted to a hotel somewhat more than ten years ago. It is directly across from the port and the ferry landing and right in the center of the main town on the island (Hermoupolis). Everything you might wish to indulge in Hermoupolis is within easy walking distance. My room was ample, peaceful and very well-apportioned.
• David (8/5): - We were offered a room at front of hotel with double aspect sea/city views or a room to the rear. The latter was bigger and had better shower but as we were only staying one night to be near the early ferry departure point we went for the view. No need to worry about traffic of ferry noise - all windows were double glazed and properly sound insulated. We loved watching the action in the port from the best possible seats. Unfortunately, we had to leave at 6:15 before breakfast started.
• Anthony (10/5): - My room was even better than expected. Very spacious. The bed was comfortable. There was a nice couch area, a desk area, lounge area. Plenty of windows. I had a corner room with views of the port and sea and the strip along the water. Ive never had a hotel room with so many windows. It was amazing. The hallways, stairway, lobby, and dining area are beautiful and much detail was paid attention to. I highly recommend staying here when in Syros.
• Ruth (10/5): Great location. Very comfortable. - The hotel has a luxurious feel in the rooms. Everything is done to a high standard and is extremely comfortable. I had a balcony overlooking the ferry which could be a little noisy at times, but there are thick solid wooden shutters for the windows which keeps out a lot of road noise. There’s a bar and food is available (didn’t eat so can’t comment on food). The location is excellent for access to everything, ferry across the road and restaurants along the harbour wall.

• Walter (6/5): Good port location - Hotel was ok. Location was great, right by where the ferries dock and close to all the port restaurants and bars. Room was small. Bathroom was really small. If you’re sitting on the toilet, the sink is practically in your face. The shower was so small, I didn’t shower my last morning there and showered on the next island. Breakfast was decent. 24 hour reception took care of my wake up call and taxi needs.

Nothing too fancy when it comes to room size or breakfast, but pretty much exactly what’s needed. Rooms with harbour view tend to be noisy but have a great view.

The internett in the lobby was extremely slow. I spent half an hour fixing something I could have done in five minutes with a good connection.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Alright - Our room was crazy hot, the A/C did nothing. Smoking in hallways was kind of annoying too, but hey it's Europe. Barebones hotel but in a decent location. We got the hotel because our boat trip was cut short due to inclement weather.

Το δωμάτιο μου ήταν γωνιακό με μεγάλα παράθυρα και υπέροχη θέα στο λιμάνι. Πολύ ωραίο πρωινό και όλο το προσωπικό χαμογελαστό και πολύ εξυπηρετικό. Το μόνο μείον για εμένα είναι ότι δεν είναι pet-friendly.

• Stephen (10/5): Friendly, well-appointed waterfront hotel - We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, positioned a mere hand's-breadth away from ferry disembarkation and within easy walking distance of the centre of charming Ermoupoli. Very pleasant and quiet environment, and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The room was compact but quite comfortable. Buses to everywhere right next door. Good for the price. Breakfast buffet fairly standard - could have been a little more imaginative perhaps. Strolling out in the evening to one of the waterfront restaurants was a huge pleasure. Very, very pretty location.
• Pauline (8/5): Good hotel in nice location near harbourw - We stayed overnight on a shopping trip . The hotel was easy to find opposite the harbour with parking Our sea view room was well appointed with nice linen. Three big windows gave good views the windows were double glazed and had indoor shutters so you hear no outside noise . The bathroom though small was adequate and modern with usual toiletries. Our view ,we think the hotel could remove plastic shower curtain and leave as walk in wet room and a hang the shower head on a wall hook would be easier for customer use . The room and hotel areas were exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated . All the staff were extremely helpful and appeared to be happy in their work this was from front of house to breakfast staff . There is on offer in reception area a free night cap and a traditional sweet ,a nice touch . Now we come to breakfast with two nice eating areas to choose from again very clean and pleasant staff The big let down for us was the quality on offer, this was a buffet style ,my husband reported the cereals awful and the juices for a breakfast selection most unusual and not really juice , we were inthe land of oranges why not just serve that and forget the cheap substitute? The hot buffet though plugged in offered up cold mushrooms , sausages , cold fried eggs yuk !!! Oddly the spinach pie was warm as were the boiled eggs . Would we recommend here , YES but for the price we paid and the 4 stars it advertises we felt the breakfast was disappointing.

• Kieran (10/5): All-round excellent hotel - highly recommended - Everything was fantastic. The room was clean, modern and a good size with nice amenities. Our room had a beautiful view of the port and the Aegean beyond. The staff were exceptional, very polite and professional. Always ready to help, nothing was too much trouble. We had an incident with the wall mounted hairdryer not working, they gave us a standard one in the meantime and brought in an electrician to fit a new one the very morning. Couldn’t fault the service. Breakfast was very nice and tasty, good quality food with lots of variety. It’s close to everything, very close for getting a ferry or a bus, or for going into the town centre for shopping, eating, drinking and entertainment. The main beaches are a short bus ride away, although you can walk to one in the town. Everything about our stay was fantastic, we would go back any time and highly recommend Diogenis Hotel if you are planning a trip to Syros.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel in optimaler Lage für Erkundung der Stadt - Das Hotel liegt direkt gegenüber der Anlegestelle für die Fähren. Durch eine gute Geräuschdämmung bekommt man davon allerdings kaum etwas mit. Die Hauptstadt von Syros ist vom Hotel aus einfach zu Fuß zu erkunden. Ca. 50 Meter vom Hotel entfernt befindet sich eine Art Busbahnhof, von wo aus man günstig zu den verschiedenen Stränden fahren kann. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist üppig und als sehr gut zu bezeichnen. Leider war der Toilettensitz beschädigt, das Hotelpersonal wollte sich darum kümmern, hat es bis zum Abreisetag aber nicht getan.
• Evangelos (8/5): Fantastic location and service - Location is fantastic - everything is within 5 minutes walk and it is literally one minute from the boats drop off location. Room 201 was clean and modern. Only pitfall was the noisy shower head and it’s size - could barely fit in - but given the layout there was little they could do. Breakfast options and quality were ok, not really 5 star. But def value for money was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful - from 24 hour reception (eg you can leave your keys when going light out to the beach in the morning and to the club in the evening) to giving advice on where and how to go to places.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Great stop, clean, comfortable and great location - Perfect location for our overnight stop, just across the street from the ferry terminal, we found the hotel staff welcoming and informative. The rooms were very clean with a comfortable bed, good nice linens and strong, hot shower. The hotel had a quiet and comfortable common area, where we were able to sit and relax as we waited for our departing ferry. They also held our bags so we could spend the middle of the day in Ano Syros We were on the top floor and had a small view of the port, no balcony, but a very nice breeze at night as we slept. While you did hear some traffic because the window was open, closed it was very quiet. The breakfast was ok, but very reasonalbly priced and located in a enclosed courtyard which was nice. The hotel is short walk to the main part of town where there are lovely restaurants, some foodies like us search for, cute shops and the port with lots of coffee places and wine bars. We could also walk to all the bus stops needed to get around. This was our first time in Syros and we would come again and stay at this hotel.
• Lynette (10/5): Beautifully decorated, convenient and great value - The size of the room was certainly outweighed but the decor, view, the price and having a little balcony. It's straight across the road from the ferry. I read bad reviews about the breakfast but I thought it was more than adequate, only the lacking of a toaster which would have been good.
• Sarina (6/5): Great location but a bit old and no AC - It was a great place with an excellent location. However, it seemed as if they skimped a few things - the bed was not comfortable and was old, and the AC didn't work. Having someone come check it didn't help... But good and basic place.

• Harry (8/5): Best location easy to get around - We stayed at hotel diogenis for 3 nights and we throughly enjoyed. Reception staff were helpful in finidng us a rental car and providing good recommendations for food and where to go. Room was comfortable, bathroom lacked sufficient lighting. Overall i would come back to this hotel when visiting syros again.
• Petros (10/5): Very nice hotel at great location - The hotel is located in the port, very close to the magnificent Town Hall and all that Hermoupolis has to offer, as well as the bus station to the beaches etc. The windows are double, eliminating all street noise and the solid wooden shades are great for allowing a long sleep in (we were jet-lagged and woke up at 4pm one day). Reception was very helpful and nice. Breakfast for 5 euros was outstanding value (large portions and great variety). At the price point we booked the hotel, it was great value for money. The hotels at Vaporia district are much nicer (beautiful old mansions at the waterfront) but at approximately triple the price- for the traveler who intends to be out and about seeing the island this is a perfect choice.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - This hotel was recently renovated. The hotel staff kindly gave us two corner rooms across from each other. The corner rooms helped alot, because there was a hallway. As a result, we were able to lay out our luggage in the hall as the room is small.
• Diane (10/5): Excellent location in capital - Helpful staff, especially Lora and Maria on reception, who are both so enthusiastic about their island which was great to see. We went at a quiet time of year when we were probably the only tourists on Syros!! The hotel is currently being refurbished and will be fully ready in a couple of months when life will get busier there. They seem to have quite a few business travellers who stay there. Very quiet rooms because of the shutters provided.
