Guest Reviews
- Daniel (6/5): - Jugendherbergen Style
- christa (4/5): - Dunne muren. Slechte hoofdkussens. Verouderd en stinkt enorm naar rook.Morgen zien wat we voor ontbijt krijgen. De badkamer lijkt wel redelijk ok. Klein, maar netjes.
- umar (8/5): - Good value for the money.
Need facilities like fridge for food storage and microwave for heating the food
- Sarah (8/5): - ..
A recommandé
- Naveen (8/5): - Good
- Kim (6/5): - It was ok for a short stop on the way to the ferry but the towels were dirty and it was pretty dated
Chambre spacieuse, lits confortables
- Pedro (10/5): - Lovely place. Very quiet. Efficient. What we needed for a night en route.
- Anthony (6/5): Not worth a visit - Not a very good place tbh... very very dated and basic
- Shiju (10/5): - Very nice
- Andrew (8/5): - Stayed for one night, after crossing the tunnel from the UK. Arrived at 8.30pm, check-in was relatively simple at the bar as after reception opening hours. Only the receptionist (at reception) spoke english though so there was a language barrier elsewhere. Room was aet over 2 floors. Rooms are all accessed from outside. On ground foor there's a hall, WC, showerroom, and bedrooom with 2 beds (able to be pushed together. From the hall, there is a staircase to a mezzanine with 3 beds upstairs. Overall a good setup for us as the 3 kids slept upstairs. Left at 8am so didnt experience the rest of the place (restaurant/pool/etc) but a good stop over for our fanily of 5..!
Calme. Extérieur agréable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): familial - agréable en famille
- OLIVIER (8/5): - Tres bon accueil.
- Holly (4/5): Bad pontins in France - We have stayed at this hotel 3 times previously but sad to say we will not be returning.
Rooms are old and tired; beds uncomfortable but bathroom clean and tidy.
Pool is very small for the size of the resort.
The 'bar' is very inadequately stocked; cannot buy a bottle of wine and they also had no cognac; which seems strange for France!
Didnt stay for breakfast as just wanted to get out after a rubbish night sleep.
- leo (10/5): - Super accueil merci
- CLAUDETTE (6/5): - Oreiller trop mou.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Really very low quality - will never go back. They did not even change the table cloth and we had to have breakfast on dirty tables every day - dreadful
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The property was very run down. Somehow there were footprints on our ceiling?! How is that even possible? Was a very shoddy place, Wormwood Scrubs is frankly a more luxurious place to spend time
- David (4/5): Open spaces, but dated - Accommodation is in need of an upgrade, shower not clean in need of a deep clean. The kids had a great time outside in the large grounds, but don’t expect much for the accommodation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was ok, few amenities and very little in the village of Ambleteuse to see or do- hardly anywhere to eat
- Laurence (8/5): - Good stay, the resort is in a great location and the facilities are very good. Clean room which was adequate for our purposes.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We were unable to stay in this property as they did not answer the phone during normal hotel office hours (8pm local time) when we realised our Eurotunnel train was going to be delayed and that therefore we would be checking in late.
- Amy (6/5): - Breakfast was not good. Bad choice available, overcrowded, couldn’t get a seat.
- Anna (10/5): - we loved the location & sauna, but water in the pool was too cold
Room was nice, but we are a couple and we were given no option but two single beds, and the size of the room was very small.
when we were leaving we noticed there were several empty rooms with double beds. Also check in time 5pm its very inconvenient - as we came all the way from uk and were very tired. Breakfast simple but okay.
- Robert (8/5): Calais over night - It was ok for a night or two but I imagine in the holiday time quite noisy with families
- Haris (2/5): No food at Buffet Breakfast. - There was only two slices of dried up ham available to us at buffet breakfast. Coffee was available but no cups to pour the coffee into. Buffet breakfast was to end at 10.30am. Our family with two adults and two children 6 and 9 years of age, turned up at breakfast at 9.45am. Literally, all available food put out had been consumed by other guests. We sat in restaurant for over half hour waiting for some croissants to arrive, after complaining to staff. The experienced ruined our holiday. We checked out of the hotel after the nightmare experience. The facility available and given to us was not very clean either with holes in doors to private rooms. WC and shower room has black coloured mould in the tiles. please see pictures.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location, bad housekeeping - The location is not exactly where it show on the Sat Nav if you using the address provided on the website. The room is a bit dusty and the pillow case for the small pillow they put on top of the throw look dirty, the same for the throw. We can't get the room service until 4:30p.m., the room services ladies (5 of them to clean one room) were unfriendly and done it very rush (within 7-10 minutes) finished the house keeping. They left the cups unwashed and the floor still look dusty after they left. Apart of that the location of the hotel is very nice with nice countryside view, fresh air. The breakfast was adequate , 9 till 10:30 for breakfast ,but the check out time is 10a.m. The time is quite tight for the check out as it is on 10a.m. If the check in time can be slightly early eg 3p.m. (not 5p.m.) and the check out time can be 12 noon would be great for the stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Quiet Rooms - Quiet location and easily accessible from Calais. It won't suit everyone's tastes as it wasn't the cleanest of places and although the facilities are available, as with most places that have shared facilities, these are not always to the highest standard.
The rooms are quiet and functional and had a separate section for the children and the staff speak French and English are are extremely welcoming and helpful.
Perfect stopover location for one or two nights if you are returning to the UK or are entering France for a longer onward journey.
- Robert (8/5): Pleasant Stay - This complex caters for a wide range of clientele. When we stayed, there were a lot of children who were enjoying the multiple facilities designed especially for them. The adult facilities in the reception area include a bar and spa along with a restaurant. THere is a strange booking system in place, meaning you have to go to the reception desk to book a table and, if you are quick enough, you can beat the receptionist bringing that reservation into the restaurant! Rooms are basic but have good beds and tea and coffee making facilities.
- Emile (8/5): Family holiday - We spent four days in Northern France 2 adults 2 boys age 10 the swimming pools very good the facilities and space was good. the breakfast was basic but it met our needs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location for a quick visit to France from the UK via Calais. Clean and comfortable and good value for Money.
- Philip (10/5): Clean with nice friendly staff - Helpful staff. Clean and good location
- Liam (8/5): very good place to stay - Nice apartments, and very good child facilities (swimming pool, basketball courts, pool table). Also had 2 saunas and a steam room, bar for the evening time. We had a 5 bed apartment, with 2 beds on the ground floor, and then 3 upstairs. The only real downside was there was no couch for the evenings for relaxing when watching TV, so you had to sit on the beds downstairs, and also we didn't have a fridge (but they do say you could have requested one). Also breakfast in the mornings was excellent, so all in all, very happy with our 3 nights there.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff indifferent at breakfast.
Rooms tired and badly designed.
Should be classed as a budget option.
Pool area dirty and smelly.
Avoid.
- Mark (8/5): Short but sweet - Arrived late 12:00 pm and was difficult to find but someone from the site found us looking for the chalet and showed us the way. Good breakfast and good stop off point for Calais
- Stewart (8/5): A great overnight stay - A great overnight accommodation in a small sized holiday village.
Plenty of room and space for 2 adults and 3 children.
Would definitely stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - More like what they call in N. America, cabins/cottages. Very nice, quiet, mostly families
- Kerwin (6/5): Three days in Pas de Calais - We stayed in a family room which met our needs. It would have been nice to have had a fridge and double bed. The breakfast should have been more varied as we did not eat pork. The swimming pool was good. Staff was friendly and and weather was excellent. It is an isolated spot but overall it was a short but enjoyable experience.
- Tracey (8/5): No frills accommodation - The room was great...3 beds upstairs and two downstairs. Only one toilet. Huge windows with blackout upstairs so perfect for kids.
Limited tea etc so I'd take your own.
Breakfast was good....help yourself to ham, cheeses, fruit, bread and toast.
Overall...nothing but all you need and ideal for a stop over
- Muchael (6/5): Could be really good with some changes - We booked this for the last night of our holidays before taking the ferry back to UK from Calais. Car park was 300m from room. Staff did not seem to understand or want to do anything about this as my wife has serious mobility problem so we just had to manage. Very unsatisfactory attitude. On plus side, the pool is good. Breakfast included in price started at 8am which was too late for us to make the ferry. Wifi in room did not work.
- craig (8/5): Pleaseant for one night but basic. - Convenient. Nice pool. Small crossants.
- Elaine (10/5): - Not able to connect to wifi in room only at main hotel building
- paul (6/5): Perfrct for a stopover - Used this as a stop over on way back from Dordogne - Personally I wouldnt stay here for more than the stopover as it was not really for us. we arrived at 11pm and was able to check in despite not being able to get through on the phone to confirm we woudl be able to. The young team on site were really nice and the continental style brekkie was good value. We left at 10am so we didnt sample the swimming pool etc....Local area has some nice beaches and bars. Our room had 5 single beds and no living space to sit in so I woudlnt personally stay here for more than a stopover with there being 5 of us but suited our needs and is perfect for the ferry
- Ed (8/5): Convenient stopover point - Great place to stop over to/from trips to France. Away from Citi Europe but close enough should the shops and tunnel be needed. The rooms were a little noisy due to the design but there was plenty of space for the 4 of us.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pity it was just one night - We were just rushing back to the Tunnel.
Could have stayed here much longer - good place for a family with active children.
- simon (10/5): Simple but very pleasant - Simple but very pleasant
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel was excellent for a stop over prior to an early Calais ferry.
- Zaeed (10/5): Definitely recommend - Amazing. Everything we needed with a great breakfast to match
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient place to stay for tunnel crossing - We stayed here with friends after a long drive from Southern France. Our friends have three children so it was about the only place that could accommodate a family of five in one room that was close to Calais. It's a very French holiday camp and was adequate for our needs with clean, functional rooms. Food choice was limited but reasonable in terms of both cost and taste. My wife disagreed and thought the food was poor as there was minimal choice and mass production of poor quality, unimaginative food. The kids enjoyed the evening disco, particularly the French tracks which they had never heard before but seemed to be popular.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Family rooms ideal for Chunnel stop overs - This holiday village is ideally located for either Chunnel stopovers (which is what we used it for) or for longer stays. It is within walking distance of a beautiful beach and a selection of restaurants.
The holiday village itself had a good selection of facilities including a pool, children's climbing frame and tennis courts.
Our room was very spacious with three single beds upstairs and 2 downstairs. It was well equipped with a kettle, coffee, speciality teas and sugar (no milk). There was a toilet and then a separate shower room and basin with shower gel provided. Upstairs there was a basin.
WiFi was freely available in the room and in the restaurant.
We ate in the restaurant at breakfast time. We were provided with mini croissants and pain au chocolat and on the buffet were eggs to boil; fruit salad; yogurt; a selection of cereals; ham; bread and jams. There was also a selection of hot and cold drinks.
Overall we would highly recommend this accommodation.
- Anthony (8/5): Beautiful surroundings, lovely accommodation - The two level apartment was very nice and very comfortable and clean. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast facilities were really good and lots of choice available. Our only criticism was a female member of staff in the hotel bar. As we entered the bar with our two small children, we weren't greeted at all because the bar person was sweeping the floor in the table area where we were seated and seemed too busy to look up and acknowledge our presence. We found this very rude and it made us feel most unwelcome. The was especially upsetting as we had driven a long way and our little girls were excited to be there and naturally we all were in need of some refreshments. We think it's important to make people welcome when they come into a hotel, bar or restaurant and this tainted an otherwise pleasant stay.
