• James (10/5): Love the Staff and the Hotel - I could not believe "Inn at the Agora" was an option when I was looking for a hotel to stay at in Lewiston. I booked it right away. After driving over 2000 miles to get to Lewiston, ME I was greeted by the owner - by name - and was treated like royalty. I have been staying here for more than a week and the services of the staff and owner are 5+ stars. The hotel has a small kitchen area where guests can get a complimentary snack or a hot drink. There is a small fridge where I can put my leftover take-out meal, to heat up for later. The staff and owner have treated me with kindness and have been a source of local information for me while I get to know the area I am moving to. I love the small signs the owner sets out to assist me with using the coffee maker or contacting them if I do not see them at the front desk. Extra covers or pillows are not a problem for the staff when I request them. I have a pet with me and there is a place for him to walk and potty. I love the gathering/dinning area. I have enjoyed the atmosphere and sounds of the other guests going about their business in the hotel/mansion. It feels real warm and relaxing. I have never felt like a corporate employee was watching my every move. I feel like I have lived here for longer than I have been. The historical aspect of this hotel makes it so cool to stay here. There is historical literature about the hotel, and of course the owner has additional information if you are interested. Make this your choice
• Trent (10/5): The most unique place I have stayed in months! - Absolutely charming mansion-turned-Inn. Splendid hospitality. Interesting and cordial innkeepers. Friendly dog. Do spend some in the parlor for a game of chess and complementary wine. The owners also have a splendid social venue in the massive church complex they also purchased next door. I had a fascinating guided tour.

• Barbara (10/5): Cozy Inn, Welcoming Innkeeper - The innkeeper was extremely friendly and the inn was homey and comfortable. Our room, the Kelsey Suite was beautifully decorated down to the utmost detail. The bed was so comfy with wonderful sheets and even the towels were much softer and fluffier than most places I’ve stayed. The building was quite secure and overlooked historical Kennedy Park. I wouldn’t hesitate to return!

• Marc (8/5): Cozy charming Inn - We had a very nice stay at the Inn at the Agora. New owner, Bille-Jayne greeted us and explained all the accommodations at the former church rectory turned inn. Very nice cozy and clean private room with private bath. We enjoyed port and sherry served in the parlor in the evening and conversation by the fire pit. No breakfast but the inn offers vouchers at local restaurants. Great organic bagels and breakfast sandwiches at Forage Market, within walking distance. Not the best neighborhood, but we had no issues. I would recommend the Inn at the Agora.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Great attention to detail - We were met by the innkeeper who greeted us by name, and showed us to our room. The inn is a beautiful old Victorian house, and much of the original woodwork and architectural details are evident. There’s a beautiful sitting room/parlor on the first floor, and they have complimentary sherry and port for a nightcap. Our room was spacious with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. The attached bathroom was nice as well - and very clean. Comfortable bed, good WiFi connection, and so quiet. We were able to walk to dinner, and would have loved to sit on the wide porch afterwards, but we were too tired! The inn offers coffee and tea in the morning, but not breakfast. However, they do provide a $5 per guest coupon to a local spot (Forage) where we found plenty of tasty options. One nice feature that we will likely take advantage of if we return to the area is that our room, and I think another on the second floor, has a connecting room available for use as a family suite - a great choice for travel with kids.

• Patrick (8/5): Gem in Lewiston - We were passing through the area on a long trip and found the Inn at the Agora to be charming and convenient to the mill district and for a walk up to Bates College. Jan, the operator, was friendly, helpful and welcoming.

• Rebecca (10/5): Charming Inn - We love the Inn at the Agora. Jan is the perfect Innkeeper, with lots of knowledge and recommendations about the area. Everything is close by, just a nice walk through the park. The park is always colorful and full of activity. Lewiston is within easy driving distance of many great spots in Maine. We highly recommend this quaint inn.
• Kathleen (10/5): Central location yet quiet. - Jan knows all about the region. We enjoyed learning about the city's history and present. Friendly, safe little city in Maine. We were surprised to find great parks in a short distance to vary our culture and outdoor interests.
• Hanlin (8/5): Our experience at the Inn....Good , but...... - The only concern we had is that the Inn is a 2 story bldg. (really 3 plus stories of a decommissioned former Catholic Church. The 3rd floor and above are not open to use.). The bldg. is the former rectory with at least 20+ foot ceilings so getting up from the first floor to the second is a big climb on stairs that go straight up with a curve at the top, and no elevator. .The rooms we staid in.(.#5).. had 2 bed rooms and one bath. The bathroom is brand new but the shower/bath is a free standing bathtub with feet and a shower/ hand sprayer and plastic curtains that hang around the tub from a rack above the tub. The are no hand rails plus the tub is more then 3 feet above the floor set about 2 feet from any wall and thus hard to get in and our of. And use of the shower requires the careful attention to the curtains which move about in the spray and easily allow the water to escape the tub and on on to the floor... and to leak into the first floor. With nothing to hold onto falling is a real possibility. We are ages 79 and 77 with some walking disability so bathing was always an experience! No falls though.

• Michael (10/5): Like staying with friends - Such a cozy and comfortable place to stay. Much nicer than a hotel, and cheaper. Jan was extremely friendly and welcoming with good advice and tips both locally and for our continuing trip to explore Maine. We didn't spend much time taking advantage of the amenities but with a game room, lounge, and more it definitely felt like staying in a friend's home. We'll definitely stay here again when we visit Lewiston.

The innkeeper was there to show us to our room when we arrived and was available to answer all of our questions. They don't serve breakfast but give you coupons to 2 places within walking distance. I ate at an organic bakery where the bagel sandwich was delicious. The inn is quiet, clean and comfortable. Jan, the innkeeper is so friendly and knows everything about Lewiston. If we were going to be back in Lewiston we would stay again.
• Bob (8/5): Bed & Breakfast in Downtown Lewiston - An older home with a gracious and helpful host. No breakfast is available so a voucher is given for 2 nearby places. We chose a neighborhood diner which was a good way to get a feel for the local community. This may not be for someone looking for a breakfast in the B&B but it was fine for my wife and me.
