The main light in the room had blown or was not working, the TV required several tries to turn it on/off, the button in the toilet needs replacing and the key entry did not always function. The staff were friendly and obliging but there were no public rubbish bins around the property.
- Susan (8/5): Pleasantly surprised. - Very central location. Basic decor, but clean and tidy. A good selection in mini bar. Good menu in restaurant. Great breakfast included. The only thing missing is a lift for handicapped people. It meant my husband couldn't get to the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. We had to go elsewhere.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Cute retro charm but loud droning from aircons - A really cute retro motel, enjoyed the vibes. Bed was ok, cleanliness was ok. I would have given it a better review if it wasn't for how loud it was. I'll say this - if loud droning noises don't bother you it's a cute place to stay if you like motels that retain some of their retro charm. Regarding the noise, I'm not 100% sure but I think it may have been the reverse cycle aircon units? Turning off ours didn't help much though. But it was a loud enough droning that I could hear it clearly through my earplugs, and there was a point in the night where I woke up and could have sworn there was a big road train style truck idling next to the room or something. It was kind of intense and made our night's sleep a bit of a struggle.

Staff is very friendly given the fact that she has to work in both the reception on the ground floor and the restaurant on the second floor during breakfast time. Breakfast was great, foods are freshly cooked and served even approaching the close hour of 09:00. Plenty of parking space, which is precious right in the center of the city. Some reviews that the tile was peeling off in the bathroom, which we did not experience. However, as there is no ventilation on the roof, the paint is becoming bubbled. This is probably the only reason we only give it a four rather than a five.

The room was very dated & old, but certainly served the purpose, the mattress was far too soft, as someone that loves a soft mattress I found it too soft. Personal preference I guess. Overall we enjoyed the stay, for the price we paid including breakfast I guess we can’t complain. It served a purpose for us at short notice. Location is within town centre so that was good also. The pool could do with some plants and some fencing /privacy, might make it more appealing visually. Thanks

- Karen (6/5): - The mattress was great and so was the location but unfortunately a few things took away from that. The main light in the room was flickering so couldn’t be used. There was a child lock on the tv so couldn’t watch anything over an MA15 rating. No toilet paper was a problem. Luckily they had tissues in the bathroom!! And the shower was mouldy. Yes I could have called reception but after travelling for hours, we couldn’t be bothered and just went to sleep. I would have bought it up with reception the next morning but she served me while she was talking on the phone so I left.
- Gaynor (8/5): Just a little more than you would expect. - Really wanted to express out appreciation for the cleanliness and attention to our room. Never did we think we would receive daily service to our room. Breakfast was nothing overly special, however my husband could not believe full sausages with scrambled eggs, I liked the fact they had fresh orange juice from a machine squashing oranges, and fresh coffee frim a machine which tasted better than the Novotel we had come from in Melb. Not only that, but we got a bag of washing done and dried for a very reasonable amount and back in our room before early afternoon. Got to say guys, you helped us out and did not shirk from anything we asked. Hospitality at its best.
