J'ai donc payé Hotels.com pour un hotel qui n'existe pas ET j'ai dû REPAYER pour pouvoir quand même dormir dans une chambre d'un autre hôtel. Bref, FUYEZ cet hôtel fantôme !!

- Toms11212 (6/5): Resort prices for a mid range hotel - Situated at the beach front is i think what drives up the price of this venue. Owned bij French you would expect good food. Pro -Bar at the seafront is nice! -Garden looks well maintained -Staff is friendly Con -Food not good. Breakfast bad really. Old saugages, old bread, no intention of -Keeping insects away from the fruit etc. -Price/quality rato: same room prices as an resort but this was a mid range hotel -The rooms (style as well as how clean the floor is) -Nowhere a place to work. No desk in your room, no desk anywhere at the venue -Very weak wifi I would not come here again, unlezs they would make the rooms cheaper.
- 323danielv (6/5): Nice spot on the beach - Afrika Pearl is located in an excellent position. The resort is medium sized with most of the rooms with ocean view. Apparently management changed after Covid and the place would need an upgrade in management and service supervision. Service, food and maintenance is just right, but if not attended carefully the risk is of complete downgrading. It would be a potty as the place is wonderfully located and has a great potential.
- Chandaal (6/5): Nice place although some clientele a little dodgy - Visited there today. A lovely place with lovely facilities. Our day was somewhat spoilt when we saw an old white grandad with a young African girl old enough to be his granddaughter swimming in the pool. Undoubtedly a sex tourist and pervert. Having said that there are many such sex tourists in ukunda.. mainly brits and Germans...nevertheless afrika Pearl is a nice place
- Fikzozo1986 (2/5): Rape - I came to visit this hotel with my sisters and will not advise anyone to go as one of their security tried to rape my younger sister is a bad hotel and their manager was rude also so if your a women do not support this hotel
- Louie (10/5): - This place was amazing for the price. I travel frequently and I rarely give such a high rating. It is a small resort right in the beach in a pristene area with a bar just feet from the ocean. The staff was amazing. The only thing that could be improved was the speed of the service on drinks. There is a jungle side pool and a nature walk area that was a huge bonus.
- achenriksson (2/5): Ignorance from the hotel - I did all I could to get information about prices, availability etc. I sent e-mail, called the numbers from web site without answers, reminded about my request through e-mail again. No contact. This is for me a really bad attitude and for me this hotel is out of the question in the future.
- Signe Marseen (8/5): Dejligt sted. - Et fantastisk sted med heldigvis flest søde mennesker. Der var dog en dame, der ikke brød sig om børn og skældte mine børn ud ( 8 og 4 år). De havde et lille fitnessrum, hvor vi havde købt en familiepakke, så vi alle kunne være der. Min datter på 8 år gik ud og vaskede hænder før hun ville bruge maskinerne (hun er elitegymnastik og har et stort kendskab til tingene). I det samme kom denne dame og skældte hende ud og uden begrundelse smed de børnene ud. Vi har klaget, men en øv måde at slutte ferie af på, på et ellers pragtfuldt hotel.
- StephnLee (8/5): Lovely small resort with such a friendly crew - This really is a lovely spot in Diani. Just a short Tuk Tuk (KES3-400) in to 'town' if you want to get out but this place has all you need. Sun beds seem to get provided and secured for you for the duration of your stay, and you are right on a lovely beach with wonderful snorkelling right outside your door! Chilled out bar and restaurant with really friendly staff ready to greet you with a smile and 'Jambo'. Rooms have a fridge and plenty of space - no TV or coffee making though. We got a bit unlucky with faulty electrics, lighting, aircon, shower fixing so the lovely maintenance guy spent most of his time in our room - unlucky for us but there's always one and this time it was us! No big deal but they kindly offered us a free massage as a thank you for our patience - that was lovely massage in a covered area right by the sea - we went back for more. The owner is a very engaging and involved French guy who circulates welcoming all the guests at breakfast and in the evening. His clientele is mainly French - I think we were the only Brits there. Note that you are asked not to take any food and drink into the resort. Half Board was breakfast and Dinner. Dinner started off for the first week as a buffet - food was lovely, but in the second week they changed to a menu based service where one of the 3 options offered was at a premium price, and you were asked to make a reservation time. We preferred the first buffet selection for its flexibility and variety. Overall we spent 12 nights here and have fond memories to keep.
- abineta (10/5): exactly what we needed, what a wonderful place! - This was one of the best hotels in Mombasa. We enjoyed the hotel. On arrival, we were upgraded to a sea view room. The managers, Mwasala, Eric and Juma were very helpful and friendly. The waiters (men)served dinner with a genuine smile. I only remember Souliman, but they are all great. Breakfast is the same every day and can be a bit boring. Dinner selection is limited and can be improved. The ugali, Sukuma and chicken they made me was the best meal. You should change your name to Africka Pearl Hotel only, Spa is not represented at your hotel. Your spa and spa team are terrible. :-(

- Med (8/5): - Der Strand ist unglaublich, die Anlage direkt da dran ist ebenfalls schön und zu empfehlen. Großer Minuspunkt (und für uns auch der Grund, weshalb wir nur eine Nacht blieben) sind die aggressiven Beachboys am Strand. Wirklich jedes Mal wenn man sich zum Strand begibt, wird man von Ihnen belästigt. Sie lassen auch nicht ab und bleiben penetrant bis man im Wasser ist, was insbesondere bei Ebbe ne Weile dauern kann. Das gleiche Spiel dann auch auf den Rückweg. Entspannen ist so nicht möglich.

- Z1291LPcathyr (10/5): It's like coming home for me.... - I have stayed at the Africa Pearl three times this year and for me this is a slice of heaven; it feels like I am coming home, each and every time. I have stayed in the Villa and the Ocean facing rooms and they are both absolutely amazing, always cleaned well and comfortable. The staff are really friendly and as I travel to Diani for work on my own, they make me feel welcome, appreciated and taken care of. Michael is a super star and has always been there when I check in and out.The food is always on point and you always get a choice at meal times.The beach is right at your feet and the beach bar is a great place to unwind after a long day. If I could live there, I would. :-)

- 932pk (10/5): Want to Go Back!! - Afrika Pearl is a quiet, small and wonderful resort that had just the right amount of comfort and services. It is the perfect spot to relax after a 10-day safari! The location of the hotel is great and the setting is natural and beautiful. It is situated away from the huge resorts and all the beach boys but an easy walk along the beach to get to other restaurants or away from everyone. There is a variety of things to do from paid outings to a lounge with books and games and swimming and relaxing. Rooms are comfortable with mosquito nets, hot water and AC. Seriously, they have thought of everything! The staff was friendly and professional and Michael the manager and the grounds crew were especially helpful. Michael extended our checkout time which was extra nice and the guys brought us fresh coconuts every day!

Location was perfect, away from the huge resorts, but an easy walk along the beach to get to other restaurants or away from everyone. Quiet and secure, the staff was friendly and professional. Michael the manager and the grounds crew were especially helpful. Michael extended our checkout time which was extra nice and the guys brought us fresh coconuts every day!
- simonwZ9077AT (10/5): Beautiful place - I stayed here with my young family and we had a fantastic time. Our room was fantastic for two adults and two children. We were had a great view of the beautiful beach and were only a few steps away from it. The staff were very friendly, providing a great service and food. We had a great time playing on the beach and in the swimming pool, along with a couple of trips out to see dolphins and do some snorkeling. All in all a great time in a beautiful place.
- Nathanlowe25 (10/5): Excellent hotel on a white sandy beach - Greeted by the very welcoming manager Michael who very kindly upgraded us to a large sea view room which had the biggest bed I’ve ever seen. Plenty of sun lounges to relax on throughout the day with a view of the white sandy beach and blue sea. Breakfast buffet was great with plenty of options as well as teas, coffees, juices and water. Rooms cleaned every day. Staff all very happy and friendly. Has on site bar and restaurant but also walking distance to a couple of restaurants as well as a 100-200 KES tuk-tuk away from many others.
- AnneLDR (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing - This hotel is so charming. We loved the design and landscaping which fit in so perfectly with the natural environment surrounding it. The view from our terrace was stunning and, for someone who enjoys the beach but can't be exposed to too much sun, this was a perfect setting -- with lots of shaded areas in full view of the sand and water. The staff was gracious and helpful. The meals were quite delicious and the rooms had everything we needed The hotel also offered a variety of tours of the local area which was very helpful for exploring the area.
- 189justiner (8/5): Great Luxury Stay on Diani Beach - Had a nice stay with family at Africa Pearl. Beautiful location and facilities. Pictures on trip advisor should be updated to showcase this more! Friendly staff and decent food. Room was beautiful and great view of the beach. Only downside is everything costs extra, even water. Water should be supplied to guests for free as the tap water is not drinkable. The gym also costs $6 USD yet does not have much for equipment and the only treadmill did not work. Hot water was on and off. We enjoyed our stay here but these improvements would have made it a 5 star rating.
- fromhotelstohorses (4/5): Better places to stay in Diani for the same price. - Friendly staff , however not recommended if you are staying for a longer period of time, especially with young kids. Hotelgrounds: Nice, Clean, Secure Restaurant: Good food, medium size portions, fresh juices but all overpriced. Breakfast: small buffet, but delicious items and an omlett station Due to the size of the hotel, ordering dinner for a specific time is recommended, so the Chef has enough time to prepare the food, otherwise you might have to wait a while. One evening we were surprised by buffet and had no option of ordering a la carte and were hit with a rather large bill for a not so special buffet. no advance notice was given so ended up asking every afternoon whether there will be buffet or not in order to eat elsewhere or try ordering a la carte for an early dinner. It's nonsense to be charge 32 USD for a small buffet for a child and one adult. Beach: Stayed in Diani for 3 weeks in 3 different hotels-this was the best beach! But the beach boys won't take no for an answer and it can be quite annoying. Not experienced this persistancy anywhere else in Diani. Rooms: Stayed in a garden room - it was somewhat ok but the fly net was dirty the room not overly clean and because of the large gaps on the room door we were fighting Crawley creatures every night before bedtime. Also no TV, Phone or WIFI in the rooms. Things that were very upsetting during my 10 day stay: No outside food and beverages ! Having worked in hotels for 18 years in various countries, I do understand the general principle and agree to point. However something like bottled water, snacks or fruit to survive from meal to meal should in any hotel be allowed, especially when travelling with young children, given the fact that you frequently take lunches/dinners at the hotel and no suitable snacks are offered on site. Food: There are no kids meals on the menu, so if we have to have lunch it's an adult portion for a child. The salads are not "salads" it's a rather tiny portion of mainly cabbage with a bit of cucumber and tomato. Nothing I'd consider a side salad yet alone a light lunch. On day 4 when I opted to go without lunch, my son had a mango and to my surprise to was charged 550 Schilling for it (5.5USD)!! Water: Being charged 300 Schilling (3USD) for a bottle of Water is not an upmarket price, it is plain rude. The water in town is 50 Schilling.( Can't bring a few bottles as one gets turned away holding a roll of Pringles..... ) Except on the day of arrival, There was NO complimentary water in the room unlike the other hotels we stayed in leaving us no choice but to buy every drop we consumed. I spent close to 60 USD on drinking water only during my stay of 9 nights. Also the 0.5L bottles (100KSH) are cheaper than the 1L bottles.... (300 KHS) After the buffet, mango and water situation, I considered checking out at day 4 but booking was prepaid. Trips: I was quoted 60 USD for a half day tour to mombasa (Haller Park) and the day after when i wanted to book, unfortunately was quoted 90USD for the same thing by the hotel manager who was manning the desk that day. I ended up going to town and booked it there for less. WIFI I didn't expect speedy Wi-Fi or spend much time on my phone during my stay here, but not being able to access it in my room at was not that great especially after my 4 year old went to sleep
- MarlieDiva (4/5): Wasted space along the coast, a pity. - I traveled alone with my 2yr old as a little break from Nairobi, on half- board. Lets start with some good points to balance my review. Some of the staff are friendly and enthusiastic (Ali, frances, peter for example) It has a little kids area with toys, there is badminton, table tennis and volley and football activities so they thought of entertainment, should you wish. There is a donkey grazing around much to the amusement of my son. Pool adequate. Check in was efficient and welcoming by Eric. This hotel is past its expiration date in terms of the property itself. Its quite old and not looked after, the grounds are not well kept, the mosquito net has holes and is mended in other bits. Tap leaking, some of the pillow smell musty. Main dining area v dark. Sun beds v old. Some rooms are being refurbished as we speak- much needed overall we stayed in the older room next to a building site of two new rooms (builders v accommodating in keeping quiet during afternoon nap of my child) What really makes this place not recommendable is the food and service that comes with it. Burger ‘n chips ordered at midday was promised to be brought in 35 minutes, which turned into 45minutes. When i said that it took ridiculously long i got a massive attitude that the chef was busy preparing other lunch meals (?) we were alone in the restaurant- and v early. Like it was my fault for even daring to place an order! Then the last day for lunch, i thought to be clever and order at 11AM a simple pizza hawai. They promised me to serve at midday. It came 12:15, so thats over an hour to prepare a pizza!! Guess what they served? A doughy undercooked pre-packed pizza jazzed up with some pineapple and bits of meat. Nothing fresh. Utterly disgusting. The dinners were buffet style because, the managament explained, it was too busy to cook a la carte. Fair enough, but the buffet was really nothing to write home about. (French owned- expected a bit more?) Served at 19:30 too late for a hungry child, i got offered some food for my child: soup and rice (ready from the later to served buffet) took again a good 40minutes. Breakfast, again very merdiocre buffet: i wanted some milk in my coffee, as there was none, so i asked one of the waiters, and he said well you can get it yourself now (whilst i was busy trying to feed my son). The staff really does not give a flying * The last late afternoon we went to Nomads beach bar/restaurant further down, as a refuge so we could skip the dinner irritations. This hotel clearly lacks a strong management team which looks after quality. The spa, i had a massage at the beach hut, and halfway during the massage workers started to install an AC unit right next to us. I asked if the masseuse could ask them to stop, as i turnd around the workers were looking at my half naked body. Masseuse told me two more minutes, like it was a normal affair- and the worker resumed drilling! (I got compensated for a new massage the next day v kindly) I guess i am quite a critic and, and yes, you get what you pay for- its not a 5* property... maybe a bad choice on my side, but then again i stayed in so many lovely little 4* places- what am i missing here??!! words like tourist trap come to mind... perhaps its for a certain type of traveler attractive. This is a hotel where (majority french) people come on their last stop after safari as part of a package tour- so i guess they cant choose. But if you can make a choice do not choose this hotel with so many options along the beautiful Diani coast!! Be warned!!

Hotel Very clean & room serviced twice a day & daily fresh towels, beach towels also supplied. - Val (8/5): A Pearl that Shines! - This was a 'solo' trip, there were heavy downpours of rain and it was the beginning of their off-season and yet I can say I had an amazing time... loved the ambience of the place, staff super helpful and location tops. I had no vehicle but with the constant flow of tuktuks on the road out front, travel to anywhere was never a problem. Afrika Pearl, highly recommended.
- Meia5 (8/5): Unreasonable corkage fees just for still water!!! - Came to us with a bill of $19 for 2 12 litre bottles of water. This made my partner annoyed as it wasn't even alcohol They lost out on out water sports bookings dinners planned and so we went to Nomads up the beach because of this stupid rule. I told a hotel manager at Blue Creek Hotel near Mombasa Airport and he laughed and said that was an absurb fee. I understand hotels have to make money but to charge for use of water a complete joke. However the hotel is a paradise and staff apart from some management were lovely. Also the fridge decor door would never shut which was annoying some plates cracked and chipped and restaurant overpriced to others a few mins walk away....
- brunog176 (8/5): Typical South Coast Diani Kenya - Nice small Hotel with Cabins with garden view and Rooms with sea view. Direct at the beach, nice bar and good breakfast. Beautiful garden with nice pool and space for kids to play. Very friendly and helpful staff including the Masai security guys.
- 440laurentl (10/5): Great stay ! - We stayed a week in Diani and booked there because the kenyawys we had been to in the past was full (we re kitesurfers). And it was a wonderful surprise. The hotel has a lot of character, personnel is nice and smiling, the garden is planted with a lot of taste. The swimming pool reminds a bit of Asia and is different than all those standardized charmless rectangles or all inclusive big chain pools. The place is great for kitesurfing as well, away from the crowds of the kenyaways and blue Marlin (which are both very nice by the way). Only setback if you wanna Kite and you are by yourself you might not find somebody to land you or help you if you encounter any problem on the water..
- 743johannesk (10/5): Great clean and calm stay - Location right at the beach is just perfect for watersport fans and beach lovers. Staff is very friendly, room service twice a day and overall very clean. In the evening we used to relax at the beach bar with a beer or a cocktail.

- Greg (10/5): Excellent hotel right on the Indian Ocean - Beautiful little boutique hotel, right on the beach for long walks on the amazing sand beaches and dips in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Great service and food in the restaurant or at the beach bar. Pool for refreshing swims in a tropically vegetated oasis, teaming with birds and monkeys. Great place to base and explore.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing. - Room condition was particularly poor. Lack of privacy, poor lighting. No ability to lock the door from inside the room. Shower was open to main room with only an old, tired, shower curtain about 1/4 of the way around the shower, toilet also had no door. When we requested the manager to provide a different room, we were informed that all rooms were occupied, even though 30 mins earlier were told buffet dinner would be substituted by a la carte menu because there were not enough guests at the hotel! Food ordered took way too long to be served, poor quality, tasteless and cold. We left, and stayed at another hotel within minutes of this facility, with no refund and no regrets!

- Abdi (10/5): First Trip to Africa for Kids - My family stayed at this hotel for a family vacation from Washington DC to Kenya for the first time. We really enjoyed the stay, the food,,the gorgeous beaches and the very friendly staff. The mangers, Eric and Winnie, really made us welcome to Kenya and its karibu hospitality. The masai warriors who guarded the hotel, the waiters and waitresses were all very friendly. The sun, the sand, and serf were all exquisite and sights to behold. Make sure to ignore all the beach boys trying to sell you stuff, but never fall for them. Do the camel ride and the scuba diving. We did one day safari to Tsaveo East Park and we saw all the wild life and the nice lodge which we had a lunch was inviting. Make sure to stay at the lodge, because one day safari was too exhausting for the kids. The safari guide (Ali Hassan) was very familiar with the area and he made sure we saw all the animals before the other safari tourists. He is local guy who knows the ins-outs of the area. Nice hotel and very nice staff.
