Guest Reviews
- Donovan (10/5): Enchanting stay in a just far enough away location with the view. - Villa Bella was a charming B&B with an amazing view, located just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of PVR tourists.
We loved the enchanting common areas, early morning and evening swims, and the suite itself, And we especially loved Manuel and Rosa!
- Mindy (9/5): A lovely get-away in the midst of it all! - I appreciated my time at the Villa, and the ease in walking in to town and access to public transportation .
The pool was lovely and the staff kind!
- Eugenia (10/5): Muy bonito lugar, hermosa vista!
- Brenda (10/5): Lovely little villa, friendly and very well looked after! - We just loved this small place; it suited our taste perfectly. It has a beautiful courtyard and sitting area with well tended happy plants, of course the view is incredible by the pool and exceptional from the private room deck (la vista) The room is nicely laid out , shower is as warm as you want, and the bed comfortable. AC works great too, we found the breeze adequate most times. We loved sitting out by our room at night enjoying the view- it is very private spot! We made coffee one day in the outdoor kitchen and the rest of the time just had it with breakfast. And what a breakfast- fruit, toast, any kind of eggs ( Mexicano yum!) tortillas, fresh orange juice and great coffee. Best of all are the warm and welcoming people Elsa, Rosa, and Manuel. They were very good to us and we won’t forget their kindness. Bring earplugs if you can’t sleep with background sounds of life in small town Mexico. Certainly adds to the flavour 😊
- Peter (7/5): - Great Breakfast, friendly staff, exquisite views. Had to wait 15 minutes for warm water. Sink was plugged and didn't drain properly.Very basic TV with only one (netflix) channel that had English.
- Beth (10/5): - The hotel accommodated us on very short notice. Not only did they take us in, but they helped us find a room for another couple. We were in town during a time of cartel unrest.
- Jain (8/5): Beautiful Views, Wonderful Staff, Quirky Room! - The staff, Manuel and Rosa, were wonderful! So sweet and welcoming. They treated us to a beautiful breakfast each morning with excellent coffee, toast, juice, fruit, and eggs cooked our way. The B&B is super cute with artful designs and a lovely garden. We didn't use the pool but it looked great. And the view is spectacular -- with the sea in the distance and the town below. Beautiful! It's also well located in terms of ease of access to Punta Mita, Bucerias, etc. Our room was at the top of the spiral staircase -- a very large, tall, airy palapa (thatched roof). That was cute and quirky, and because the walls didn't go all the way to the edge of the roof, a lot of sound came into the room at night. The first night was a singer/band for a wedding or some event (very loud); the second night was just the sound of the nearby road and dogs (not so bad). The bed was large and mostly comfortable -- just could have used extra pillows to be a little more comfortable. And be advised that, to get to restaurants, you have to walk down and cross the highway. Also, Uber often gets it wrong in terms of drop-off -- put in the address instead of just Villa Bella.
- Juhopekka (10/5): - Place was with qmazing view but with a even better staff. Manuel and Rosa made our stay memorable and even extra requests were made perfectly! Hopefully we are able to visit again!
- Paul (9/5): -
- Carlos (9/5): - El desayuno es fresco, muy bueno.
- Annika (10/5): Unser schönstes Hotel in Mexiko - Die schönste Unterkunft unserer 3-wöchigen Mexiko Reise!
Alles super gewesen!
- Casique Hernandez (10/5): -
- Emily (10/5): Perfect stay - Amazing hospitality, views, breakfast, pool, security. Nothing. Just a note that it is less than a 5-10 minute walk to "town" for restaurants - but wear your sneakers as the road is steep for several feet and the cobblestones can be slippery. Otherwise, the villa is a place of perfection and comfort.
- Ana Cristina (10/5): -
- Erika (9/5): -
- Maria Guadalupe (8/5): - Lugar tranquilo y lindo
- Sonja (8/5): Very good - Amazing view, great location, cute place, loved that we could watch tv from bed. The pool area had a lot of bird poop, the bedroom pillows were very uncomfortable and the photos on my reservation did not look like the room we stayed in.
- Sheila (5/5): If you can stand the car noise and barking dogs, then you will enjoy your stay - Beautiful suite Constant non stop dogs barking all night from another property.
Also +++ road noise
- Harrie (7/5): Restful and not long enough - The pool plus the wonderful breakfast Well...my favorite pool was clear but there was lots of stuff on the bottom that needed vacuuming out.
- Philippe (6/5): - Nice view of the city and the bay. This place was once nice, but that was a long time ago. It's not been kept in shape. Everything is outdated or falling apart (literally, stairs in the yard have collapsed).
Pool water was too warm.
The staff made no attempt to accommodate breakfast with my early checkout.
The price is not justified, it should cost 1/2 based on my experience with similar hotels in the area.
- Merrel (10/5): - Beautiful space with great hosts! They treated me so well, like one of their own!!! I will always come here everytime in the future!
- Vaage (10/5): Amazing. Staff so friendly and kind. Very comfy. It felt like home - Some of the screens needed repair. It let in some little lizards. It’s very sad to squish one accidentally
- Ronn (10/5): Exceptional - Our Superior room was incredible - amazing sunrises. Cooked a great fish dinner there. Pool was nice, breakfast beautiful. Great service and care. Sunday market is a treat.
- Carlson (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was great. You had your choice every morning of the type of eggs you wanted. Fruit every morning toast and coffee. The views were amazing. The pool was clean and enjoyable. The only negitive is the very steep hill you have to climb to get to the property. We did not have a car. There was nothing not to like!
- Heather (10/5): I look forward to returning to Villa Bella. - View, pool, quiet, private, nicely kept grounds and amenities. It was perfect!!
- Ellen (10/5): - I needed a get away, nice and quiet and this is the perfect location for it. You are on top of a hill, with the most stunning view of La Cruz. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. I am a solo traveler and they made sure I felt safe anytime. Manuel is around to guide you with all you need. Breakfast is made like your preferences as I am gluten intolerant and it was no issue to give me still an amazing experience. I extended asap and would definitely book again
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional - Staff amazing, always available for anything. Pool was amazing view of town and the bay. Walk up hill was a bit hard if you have any mobility issues.
- Rick (9/5): Relaxing stay with wonderful staff - Breakfast was good. Always fresh. Staff easy to be around. Nothing really. Very accomodating
- Douglas (10/5): Extraordinary - Breakfast we’re tremendous the staff was also exceptional Not one thing
- Lee (10/5): Friendly hosts and a great view. - Great view with a nice balcony with a beautiful ocean view. Up the hill from town with a short walk to bars and restaurants.
- Rebecca (10/5): Would love to stay again - The bedroom views were spectacular! Our suite was large with a massive private deck and outdoor kitchen. I'm not a morning person but I woke up every morning to watch the sunrise from our bed or our private deck.
The staff is so kind and lovely. I highly recommend it!
- Chip (8/5): We enjoyed going into town. Glad we had a rental car as the hill to get to hotel is a steep one! - Morning breakfast was great. Great view! We ended up not having hot water in our shower. So, when I let the staff know they said that they turned it on but never checked back. As we the next day we still had no hot water. Make sure you check the hot water in the shower when you arrive. We were able to take a shower in the bathroom located off of the pool area after the second night there.
- Peter (10/5): - First impressions are everything and this place had it in spades. From the welcome by Manuel and Rosa on-site hosts to the phone call from Elza the owner welcoming us and sending a bottle of wine to our room. This really cool Mexican B&B was special. The view was spectacular and our room was fantastic, it is actually a suite. You do really need a car though if you have walking issues as it is up a steep hill to the property, but the view as a result is worth it. Rosa cooks a fabulous breakfast with a fresh fruit plate and freshly squeezed orange juice. Great place if you want a quiet time. We loved it and will definitely return.
- Dave (9/5): Superb - Location, view, staffers Manuel and (Bella) Rosa, breakfast, attractive design and pool! We deeply wished there were screens on all entry points in the upper Palapa as even with nets over the bed, we got very bitten up by tiny flies of some sort. (i smacked a bunch)
Such is mi amiga Mexico!
- Mary (9/5): Very enjoyable, except for the steep hil - The view was beautiful, we looked out and saw the bay and the mountains. The noise was typical Mexico, dogs barking and motorcycles. We were not bothered by sounds from the hotel, i.e. neighbours were quiet, no loud music, etc. Rosa was wonderful, always cleaning and cooking. Our room was spotless. I praise Rosa on her wonderful demeanour, always taking our breakfast order with a smile. The owner Elsa was wonderful to deal with very responsive. The breakfast was good. I honestly thought it would be more elaborate, i.e yogurt would have been nice, some fresh baked goods, home fries with the omelet, etc. I am having issues with my foot, and the climb up the hill was too much, it was quite steep. That required us to take cabs, which would not have been our preference.
- Funduk (9/5): We had a lovely time here and would recommend for travelers who like a cozy place with a beautiful view. - It’s secluded and peaceful. The pool is great. The staff are kind. The coffeemaker in our room was old so we never used it as it was rusted. The breakfast options for a longer stay got a bit monotonous.
- Riley (10/5): - The room view is amazing! Also homemade breakfast in the morning is a nice touch.
- John (8/5): We enjoyed our stay with the easygoing vibe. - Ok, but more fruit in larger pieces would be better. Maintenance required in many areas, handrails, pool comings, window frames, glass cleaning , tv replacements etc.
,
- Douglas (9/5): We plan to return next year and see the ongoing improvements being made to the property. - This is a wonderful Mexican Villa experience with an amazing view. Manual and Rosa were excellent on-site hosts. The Manager Eliza was also very available to us. The pool was clean and warm. When you arrive phone Elza as the staff maybe working in an area where they can’t hear the bell. The rooms are accessible by stairs so you need to be mobile. We had hot water issues the first few days but staff fixed the issue. Breakfast is simple but good. Coffee, fruit, toast and eggs.
- Luis Alberto (8/5): Lugar con mucho potencial. ?
- Paul (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast and nice comfortable room. It was great to end our day and start the next day with a warm swim in the infinity pool (with coffee served 😋). Great breakfast, thanks Manuel and Rosa! Great value
- CECILIA (4/5): - It is paid with breakfast included and they do not give it, no person on the property to provide a service, would not rebook it.
- Cassandra (10/5): - This is a beautiful bed-and-breakfast and it feels like home. Manuel and Rosa were always there to help with anything, and Rosa made amazing breakfasts for me and my daughter. The view is absolutely spectacular and in the evenings you hear all the amazing sounds of this little fishing town in Mexico. There are restaurants and local seafood places to eat right down the hill and everything is very convenient. The room was adorable and the pool was spectacular. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We had the best time. Would definitely stay here again.
- Heidi (8/5): - Wonderful views from my room and the swimming pool was relaxing.
Breakfast was served from 9:00 am to 11:00 am which was too late for me to enjoy, so it was just a bed, not a breakfast.
- Johnny (10/5): I will return for more than one night. - Beautiful location, view was what it promised to be. Staff was very welcoming and cheerful upon arrival. The room was more than I expected, very comfortable and relaxing. I would stay again, this is a place for couples or family. It's beautiful and has a lot to offer. That I didn't stay longer, I should have! This is a place for 2 nights or more (to get the full experience) of La Cruz. It's a short (but steep) walk to many restaurants.
- Denisse (10/5): Exceptional - Excelente servicio
- Davalos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (9/5): Beautiful Villa Bella! - Rosa and Manuel were the perfect hosts even though our command of the Spanish language was limited. The location was wonderful, giving us a commanding view of the marina and the bay. We saw the beautiful sunrises every morning. Easy walk into town. The scent of the sheets was heavenly and added to our peaceful sleeps.
Beautiful property, which is lovingly maintained. We loved talking to Loulou, the resident parakeet. She was delightful! We loved the Palapa Suite. Beautiful views and very romantic! The breakfasts lacked variety.
- Viviana (10/5): Lovely B&B with delicious food and a lovely view! - There is so much to say that is positive about this place! We had already spent a few days in the middle of everything in Puerto Vallarta. We also had just returned from eclipse-viewing in Mazatlan. Some of the beds weren’t so comfortable. Then my significant other and I arrived at the Villa Bella! It was very peaceful and picturesque. I got the best sleep of my vacation there. The bed was very comfortable and the decor was amazing.
We just sat by the viewing pool chatting away hours at a time. The cool breeze and lovely view of the ocean, mountains, and towns were just lovely. Breakfast was delicious. We had pancakes one day and eggs with chorizo and other tasty food the other.
There is Kleenex which was wonderful as nowhere else we’d been on this trip had any. The water pressure is good and the hot water did not take long to come on. We had a nice balcony to enjoy outside but we mainly stuck to the pool area, even at night. They keep the lights on until 10 pm.
There is a taxi number available on the fridge and food pamphlets for places you may want to order food from. We went to Bucerías which was a 15 minute ride from where we were. There was a place called Mariscos del Gordo close to the center. We saw the sunset there and it was beautiful. We sat right on the beach and watched the pelicans dive for food.
All the other guests at the Villa Bella were lovely. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! The two small issues are that the key for the room was a little finicky. It required some jiggling and jangling but nothing major. The second note is that there is a rather big step up to access the bathroom. We left the bathroom light on to make sure we didn’t forget it at night.
- Alexa (10/5): Magical! - It was so beautiful and then staff were so kind!
- Cummings (9/5): Superb - Doña Rosa is a great chef! The view and the rooms are so beautiful. The roosters wake you up in the morning but that is to be expected all over La Cruz. I didn’t mind it at all, but I can see some lighter sleepers noticing.
- Samantha (10/5): We loved it there. And met people that we still stay in touch with. - It had a spectacular view. The staff (Rosa and ??) were friendly and helpful. So kind. They made breakfast a lovely experience. The pool was very nice and the 3rd level palapa we stayed in a really cool experience. The road noise from the highway below was loud but it was worth it for the view and the overall experience of staying there!! The roosters and barking dogs at night I could do without but it’s Mexico and paper of the deal!
I would have liked a safe in the room but we managed without one. I felt safe there.
- Sue (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 day stay. Our room was very comfortable and clean. With the door closed and air on at night, we had no issues with noise. The views of Banderas Bay from our patio and the lovely pool were spectacular! Breakfast was great, fruit and eggs made to order. Service and atmosphere were always friendly. We will definitely return!
- Leopold (8/5): Very good - The walk up the steep road.
- Leslie (8/5): Very good - Pool..location Need a bit more variety on breakfast
- Linda (10/5): Charming hilltop villa - Charming villa on the top a hill overlooking LA Cruz. Wonderful breakfast and helpful couple that took care of us during our stay.
- Brenda (9/5): This is a delightful small b&b with 7 rooms. Spectacular views. Staff were so sweet and accommodating. Up a fairly s - Beautiful view and grounds. Lovely staff. Comfy bed and pillows. Great water pressure. Good size bathroom. Nice towels. Fridge. Lovely breakfast.
- Ann (8/5): Very good -
- Kent (8/5): Very good -
- Roger (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robin (10/5): Charming Villa - Some of these reviewers fell way short of an appreciation for Mexican style. This was one of the nicest and most charming places we e ever stayed. I’d love to have a house with this much graceful character! We wish we had found it our first night rather than our last. We enjoyed the accommodations, the view, the welcome, and the service.
- Karen (10/5): - Spectacular view and really lovely accommodation. Very unique rooms and attentive hosts.
- Gladney (3/5): Funky -
- Gwenda (9/5): Superb - The cleanliness
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall, it was good and staff were welcoming. Breakfast each day was great. Didn't particularly enjoy the stairs I had to go down to for my room, so something to consider for people booking to stay here (especially if you have bad knees!).
- Alysia (10/5): Exceptional - The place is beautiful, it's definitely a gem. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The bed and space were very comfortable. It has a special and unique vibe of original Bed & Breakfast. It's a great place to talk and meet other tourists in the area, definitely can recommend it enough. We will certainly be back
- Vicki (5/5): Passable - With oatmeal added breakfast would have been perfect for a vegan.
The staff were a real pleasure. Too many stairs for us being in our 80 ‘s with physical limitations.
- Olga (10/5): a little hidden jewel. - staff and accommodations. excellent room.
- Matgville (9/5): We're coming back. - View and cute decor was fantastic. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Room was nicely airconditioned and pool was really nice. Nothing except walking down the road to town was very steep. Recommend taxi.
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Guillermo (10/5): - The privacy and the view
- Pauline (9/5): Superb -
- William (10/5): - We are a 66 year old couple. We have Never Ever stayed in such a wonderful, unique, clean, wonderful place with the ABSOLUTE BEST staff!! Manuel and Rosa are wonderful, even having the patience to help us with our Spanish. All the rooms are different and so very charming. We now will be going to a different room, will report later!
- Roland (9/5): The view, the space, the air. Ideal hotel to escape to beaches and vacation. -
- James (10/5): - Excellant staff but excessive noise at night ( dog barking). The building and rooms could could use some updating

many stairs to our room but assistance with suitcases readily available stairs are difficult for us due to health and mobility issues
- Yensy (10/5): Overall a great experience, this is my second time staying here! First time was for my honeymoon and this time for my si - The view is spectacular!
Rosa and Manuel are the sweetest hosts and keep the place extremely clean.
Every Villa is unique and super cute!
This place is a must stay! I liked everything!
- Kari (9/5): I’d definitely stay here again! - The location is really close to the main downtown area of La Cruz. It’s a short walk down the hill. The breakfast was delicious and the room was large and comfortable. The bed was quite a bit firmer than I like, but that’s personal preference. The location is great, but if you’re walking to and from town, the hill on the way back up to the BnB is quite steep. However, it’s only 150 pesos to take a taxi from the marina area to the BnB!
- Taylor (8/5): the property was overpriced based on other vacation rentals I have stayed at right next door and across the street and w - the location and the view and the patio the air conditioner didn’t work, the bathroom door was see through
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - The room was superb! The bed was very comfortable. The view was amazing! Breakfast was fabulous!
Manuel and Rosa were wonderful hosts! Dogs barking and rooster...but that is just the area...nothing our hosts could do about that.
- J (9/5): Must visit! - Gorgeous hilltop location, beautiful spacious room, lovely pool and garden! Wonderful staff
- Toshinari (8/5): Nice comfortable stay with reasonably price. - The location was good with beautiful sceneries. Room had lots of space and clean. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and good. It could have been better if the breakfast can be served a little earlier. WIFI was weak.
- Janette (9/5): Loved it! - authenticity liked it all but for people with mobility issues the location maybe an issue
- Geoff (8/5): Very good -
- Tracey (10/5): wonderful. - lovely spot
