Guest Reviews
- rubydY2862IL (10/5): We loved every second!! Great place to stay. - We had the absolute best time here! Where do we begin? We stayed in the oceanfront jacuzzi room and it was gorgeous and spacious. The room was cleaned every day with a beautiful lemongrass fragrance left behind. The common areas were well kept, the breakfasts were always stocked and changed every day, the staff were friendly and made every experience super smooth. The beach is lovely and we took a scooter to the main town to look around. Lots to do as well in the way of day trips close by. Lovely drinks, extensive menu, amazing sunsets. Highly recommend!!!
- chandlae (8/5): Great staff and location - We had an awesome stay at The Haven! It was right on the beach and had a great atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and made the stay that much better. Great pool and staff.
- Sightseer18472987612 (10/5): Best spot in Khao Lak - The Haven - The Haven should rename to The Heaven. Best spot in Khao Lak !!!
We came back to The Haven after our first visit last December. Fantastic location, directly at the wonderful beach. Super cool Jacuzzi Villas with perfect view on the beach and sunset. Service staff is unbelievable…reading all wishes from our lips. May, our room service maid, earnes a special ‚thank you‘ for her extraordinary treatment of us. We promised her to be back 😉
- alicekA1539PO (10/5): Perfect - Had the best time. Team were amazing.
- 523luked (10/5): A dream within paradise - This was our second hotel of our stay as we spent out first week in Phuket. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely reception team and taken to our room very promptly. The swim up room was beautiful, we often spent many hours a day relaxing in this pool. The shower and facilities in the room were top notch. The TV was a little outdated but we rarely used it anyway so no big issue there. The main pool is fantastic with 2 swim up pools. A few arched bridges connection the pools and to the beach. The restaurant was fantastic and the staff worked so hard in there, especially Ani was amazing with my partner who had mobility issues. Also a big shout out to Kings up on the level 3 bar, he was always so pleasant to talk to and always paid attention to detail. The breakfast here was amazing, with various options daily. The beach is beautiful and quiet, perfect for people wanting the peaceful life. There is a hotel shop on site if you need any essentials. The hotel pools need some work, a lot of tiles falling off but I guess that can be quite difficult to repair in a hotel that is open all year. However our stay was amazing and we will definitely look at coming back next time we are in Khao Lak.
- S3385NHvanessac (10/5): Loved every minute - Beautiful resort, really relaxing and just walk straight into the beach. Staff are very attentive. The rooms are clean, modern and spacious and excellent value for money. Convenient location - short ride to town, restaurants and markets. But away from the hustle and bustle for those who like it quiet. Excellent amenities- spa, gym and restaurant. Laundry service amd a little shop. What more could you want?!
- G8232FFtraceyb (10/5): Escape to Paradise - A beautiful escape from start to finish for great value. We leave feeling deeply relaxed, restored, and completely recharged. A truly exceptional experience that we cannot recommend highly enough.
- VanJ42 (10/5): Wonderful and Relaxing - We had an incredible week at The Haven Khao Lak, the resort is beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing escape. The lagoon-style pool and beachfront setting create a truly stunning atmosphere, especially at sunset. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable throughout the stay. The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, making us feel welcome every day. The food was amazing! If you’re looking for a tranquil adults-only resort in Khao Lak, this place is simply outstanding. Can’t wait to come back again!
- yanchepclan (10/5): Great to relax and do nothing - This place is fantastic. Room, pools, food and staff excellent. Great value
- nsmit2026 (10/5): A lovely family holiday - Very enjoyable. food great. Accommodation great.
Staff excellent.
The private villas with the pool running along the front was wonderful
View from the villa -exquisite - pool, palm trees, sea ocean.
Lovely Thai cuisine. Also caters for other tastes - pasta, pizza and more.
- I5916VVdanielk (10/5): The Haven - Had a sensational 8 night stay at the Haven. The staff couldnt be more friendly. The atmosphere food and drinks were all of excellent quality. Our large room overlooking the pool was a decent size also . The entire resort has plenty of activities for all age groups. The main town of Khao Lak is only a 10 minute taxi ride. The friendly staff go out of their way to assist. Will definitely return.
- X3971EIbrettp (10/5): Great Khao Lak experience - Amazing experience, customer service and pools!
- U5167MAstephenw (10/5): Steve & Teri, The Haven Khao Lak - Absolutely fantastic hotel, staff and facilities. Food was the best ever.
- 692victoriaj (10/5): Fantastic stay, I’d love to go back! - I had a fantastic 11 nights at the Haven. I booked through Luxury Escapes and met my parents there. The reception team went out of their way to make sure we had adjoining rooms, which made our holiday so special. We booked beautiful swim up rooms. It was such a treat to have the pool right at our bedroom doors!
Every member of the resort’s team were fantastic, always greeting us with a smile and making sure we had everything we needed. We ate our meals at the resort, every one was lovely, I particularly enjoyed the afternoon cocktails!! We also joined in with the organised activities like the water aerobics and stand up paddle boarding. We booked our tours through the resort and had a couple of great days out with Mook through Khao Lak Land Disovery. It was a thoroughly relaxing holiday, thank you very much to all of the Haven team.
- thaip149 (10/5): Will come back! - AMAZING HOTEL – 2nd Visit & Still Perfect!
Just got back from a 9-night stay and honestly… this place is incredible. Second time here and it did not disappoint at all.
Highlights:
The room was lovely — super quiet, comfortable, and I genuinely had zero complaints the entire stay. Slept like a dream every night.
The pool is AMAZING — really big, plenty of space, and just a great place to relax
They sent up a lovely chocolate cake for our anniversary and beautiful flowers (flowers were paid for)
But the real standout? The staff. Absolute assets to the hotel. The best I’ve ever experienced. Special thanks to Sharada and Jorm — they made our stay extra special!
Little extras (the good stuff):
There’s an ice cream man who comes along the beach around 11:15am–12pm selling coconut ice cream — 20–60 baht depending on size. AMAAAAZING and a must-try!
Also, Frog Prince restaurant — great food, definitely worth visiting.
One tiny suggestion:
It would be great if the hotel added more water refill stations — just a small improvement.
Overall:
100000 / 10000000000 — absolutely LOVE this place. Will 100% be coming back again!
- BronwynG389 (8/5): Beautiful but unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. - We booked 12 days at The Haven Thailand in March. The resort is beautiful and all the staff were lovely. However this resort is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There are stairs everywhere. The 3rd floor reception area is accessed by the only lift in the resort. Fortunately our room was on level 3. However apart from breakfast in The Sundial restaurant also on level 3 everything else required the use of stairs. Even the pool area had high arched bridges with stairs which had to be crossed. There were no steps into the pools themselves only ladders which required arm strength to pull myself out. The pool off our room was beautiful but the ladder was too short to reach once I was in the pool. I mentioned my problem to reception at The Haven but they weren’t interested so when Luxury Escapes asked me to submit my review, I tried but it wouldn’t allow me to submit so I tried to call Luxury Escapes 3 times, they offered to return my call but they disconnected my call immediately I answered each time, they seem impossible to contact.
- J8965MVsuew (8/5): Feedback - Friendly staff . Lovely hotel and food .
Reception staff very helpful .
Room was clean and spacious . Cleaned everyday .
- 547dg (8/5): Great time on this visit - Enjoyed our experience. Great food and great staff. Nothing too much trouble.
- Navigator28488777917 (10/5): 10/10 very attentive staff - The hotel was lovely, very friendly staff all very attentive especially in the restaurant. Special shout out to king for being extra helpful and attentive and putting up with us all . 10/10 recommended
- richardbai55 (10/5): Great holiday - We have just returned from a great holiday at the Haven hotel, what a wonderful place lovely beach ⛱️ and location. A big thank you to all the staff who are so friendly and helpful who go above and beyond to make your stay memorable, the restaurant and food is very good thank you Sharada for looking after us every night and all the staff as well. We would like to thank the pool staff Thor Ankit king Sandip Nischal Hemanta and Boy for looking after us we had so much fun with them, also the entertainments team Popcorn Phu Pong Yee for all the fun we had with you all playing boccia, we would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return soon
- SueTurner26663 (10/5): Aussies in Thailand - This was our 2nd stay at The Haven and we can't thank all the staff enough for making us feel special and making our stay enjoyable.
- anthonyhK5188QY (10/5): The Haven, Khao Lak - Lovely hotel, nice big room but could do with more cupboard space.
Fantastic pool, but does need some tiles replacing.
Fantastic staff.
- dannic (10/5): A Gem ! - Stayed 2 nights in a Deluxe room and 1 night in an Ocean Front jacuzzi room in February. These followed an amazing couple of weeks at their sister hotel, The Oriental, in central Khao Lak.
Check-in was quick and easy, Dream was extremely friendly and welcoming.
Our rooms were extremely spacious and comfortable. The housekeeping team kept everything spotless and well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
Breakfast offered an excellent variety of options.
The highlight was our massage in the Spa. Beautiful relaxing surroundings. We loved it.
Management provide authentic Thai hospitality - Mr K, Khun Praire and Khun Tarn - you really made our experience unforgettable and we are very grateful.
Also special thank you to Gummy (F& B) too- the bars can get busy, but she always acknowledged us with a genuine smile and made us feel welcome. Superb cocktails too!
If you’re looking for a hotel that combines stunning surroundings and relaxation, this hotel is an absolute gem. Highly recommend.
- allyjordan2017 (10/5): The Haven is our wonderful Haven. - Such an amazing hotel with wonderful staff that make this place so special.
From the moment we arrived we were treated so wonderfully. Dream, Jack and all the wonderful staff on reception are truly special people. We interacted every day and it felt so nice being made to feel special. William at the bar is my favourite member of staff who made me smile every day and who enjoyed a good laugh with us both. Not to mention the amazing grasshoppers he made me most days and he didn’t mind either running around to get the ingredients for my milkshakes.
It was wonderful getting to know the staff so well they feel like friends for life. Jeff and his team in the restaurant are outstanding. They all are so wonderful and professional at what they do. We so enjoyed all the different delicious dishes available and the buffet nights were out of this world. We were all inclusive and we ate all the time at The Haven as it was so amazing. We tried lots of lovely local Thai food on our wonderful excursions. We had a swim up room for our two weeks stay and we didn’t want to leave it. The pools are out of this world and Deer our lovely bar person made it even more spectacular. It was great seeing Thor Popcorn and all the amazing staff daily round the pool. The surroundings are just beautiful, it’s so chilled and relaxing. Have to also say a huge thank you to the wonderful pool guys who do a fabulous job every day. The chef’s and kitchen staff create wonderful dishes. The beach is fabulous, the views are stunning. I booked a romantic rooftop meal which was divine and everything was perfect. We were lucky to have the wonderful Jeff as our butler that evening. We also had the romantic sunset picnic which was fabulous also. The lovely Tang kepted our room spotless and her efforts never went unnoticed.
I also booked the couple’s massage at the spa, this is a must with stay.
We already booked to come back next February, we’re counting down already till we’re back home with our wonderful Haven Family.
Well done to you all xxxxxx
- H3118THjulied (10/5): Relaxing and beautiful - Beautiful hotel in a tranquil setting. Amazing staff and good amenities
- ianbK1641VJ (10/5): Recommended - A really nice stay, extended due to the issues in the Middle East.
Everyone of the staff we had the pleasure of meeting were so helpful, the resort is so relaxing and quiet with a 15 minutes taxi from town
I would certainly recommend this hotel
- V3252YIlizd (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing and simply perfect. - We have never been to the same place twice so going two years in a row says everything about how wonderful The Haven is. The staff, food, rooms, pools, and beach are all amazing. It was so good to see everyone again and we were made to feel very much at home. Special thanks to the following staff who have become our friends... Bowy, Fah, Jeff, William, Soe, Ching, Jorm, Thor, Pragya and Anjuli. Thank you so much for another fabulous holiday. We will definitely be back!
- U6598JUjasmined (10/5): The Haven, adults only - The Haven was amazing, if was super affordable and everyone was more than lovely, it was amazing
- tonyjO8804QV (8/5): Great unwind, relaxed visit - TL;DR
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and are planning another longer visit
Relaxed atmosphere, easy going staff
Room was a little tired though we had a swim up at the end (room 4101) which was really quiet and relaxing, bed was excellent, good quiet aircon which cooled the room fast
We stayed all inclusive but didn’t feel it was good value and will just pay as we go next time we stay. Very few options not on the all inclusive menus, though some top shelf spirits not available which was fine.
We also ate al la carte each night with the menu being really wide and varied and not a bad meal the whole time, amazing food and choice well done 👏 restaurant & bar staff were lovely and at time very funny, did an amazing job (too many to name here though William gets a special mention for very welcoming)
Only negative comment being for the staff at the Scallop bar who didn’t have the same work ethic but this was a minor thing
Staff keep the whole hotel clean and tidy
We got some treatments from the spa which were excellent, though make sure you get your vouchers when checking in, we didn’t receive ours and other guests mentioned it’s a bit hit or miss
Sunset btw are outstanding
- patrickcJ1362IO (10/5): Fantastic - Everything from the accomodations to the service and the food were all top notch. The food down the road was amazing along with the first massage place you come to walking from the resort. Must try we got massages almost every night
- musicloverstl (10/5): Such a relaxing stay! - We stayed in early March at the Haven and from check-in to check-out, our experience was superb. Food, service, drinks, and every person we encountered with a smile were so appreciated so much. This was our first time to Thailand and The Haven, but it won’t be our last! We are already talking to friends about coming with us for our next visit.
- justlaugh2 (10/5): Wedding at The Haven - Absolutely outstanding! A wonderful hotel, the grounds and pool are beautiful, the staff all friendly and helpful. We came as a party of 13 for my daughters wedding, a special thank you to Panda ( wedding planner) who brought it all together, flowers/photographer/hai stylist/make up/menu the beach wedding was perfectly arranged and the reception ( assembled in the morning in the coconut garden) was beautiful, my daughters wedding was like a fairytale and everything she could hope/wish for. I can’t thank the haven enough for making her dreams come true.
A special thank you to all the holidayers that cheered them on!
I would thoroughly recommend for any couples considering a beach wedding or vow renewal, you won’t be disappointed.
Rest of our stay
The rooms were lovely, well equipped for everything we could need, bottled water was replenished every day and the room cleaned.
Breakfast was varied and catered for every taste, I’d never really thought of having fried rice for breakfast but it was delicious.
William at the lobby bar was fantastic and always made us laugh, Dream at reception was so helpful, if you need anything, he can sort it out for you.
We mostly went out for dinner, the adaman down the road was one of our favourites, again caters for every taste and prices were super cheap. We also had massages there, had some laundry done.
Thank you again “the haven”, we will be back as soon as we can.
- bensup (8/5): Could do with a refurb. - Nice hotel. It’s not luxurious, nothing about it is. It’s a bit tired and could do with a refurb. Some of the wooden walkways seemed very old and the slats in need of replacing.
The pools are kept clean with a team of lads constantly going round with their cleaning gear and a big vacuum.
The grounds are also kept nicely. There is a lot of greenery and as it’s so humid this does mean that there’s a lot of midges. ALOT. So if you’re prone to bites bring deet.
The outlook onto the beach is amazing and it’s an absolutely beautiful beach.
We never struggled to get a sun-bed when we wanted one and they were large wooden beds with padded mattresses so very comfy.
It’s remote, which we did know, with a restaurant, shop and couple of massage places about a 5-10 minute walk away.
The hotel offer a shuttle into Bang Niang and Khoa Lak 3 days a week. A taxi is 300 bht.
We had a swim up room. It was lovely to have the pool right outside our room and we used it a lot. However the terrace was very small and even getting around each other risked a fall into the pool. The chairs on the terrace were comfy and cushioned. There is also nothing separating you from your neighbours other than a couple of plants and the towel airer.
We arrived late after a full days travel and the restaurant was closing. We were not offered even a sandwhich or a fruit plate and as the day we arrived was the first day of our all inclusive package we felt this was very poor and didn’t show much care for guests.
The AI was good we felt, few things not included but that’s always the case with any AI. We were very surprised though when we had room service one afternoon to be charged for everything. We expected a surcharge but not to be billed for the food too. This is not stated anywhere so isn’t something you know until it’s charged to you.
The staff were all very nice. They didn’t seem as friendly as staff in the other two hotels we stayed during our 3 weeks in Thailand but they were definitely not rude. They did seem to favour certain guests though and there was talk of towel art and other nice touches in rooms that we never saw or received.
It was my birthday while there and I was presented with a cake with a candle
at breakfast which was appreciated.
We chose the hotel as our first two weeks in Thailand had been very full on and we wanted to just relax but we wouldn’t stay here again. It is too remote for us.
- h20mpp (8/5): Chilled out holiday - We booked this break via Tui and flew from Manchester non stop to Phuket. The hotel transfer to Khao Lak was on time and we arrived at the hotel during breakfast. Staff quickly checked us in and our cases were taken to our room as we had breakfast. The brekfast area is very nice and choices of food were very good. Serving staff were very pleasant and helpfull.
We chose a swim up room which was located away from the main pool and sun bathing area which suited us. The main sunbathing area looked a little compact, though a strict "30 minute no show and off you go" policy on sunbeds was in force. That said I did find it amusing to watch one person attempting to reserve 6 sunbeds early one morning. Another reason to book a swim up room!
Though we only booked B&B we did eat at the hotel resturant on our first and last evenings. Service and food were very good but no surprise to be paying at least double the rate of resturants a short walk from the hotel or in the local town.
The hotel runs a free shuttle bus to the town and market area bookable the day prior.
Room service sadly let the hotel down. We had to call on three seperate occasions for beach towels, water, and consumable refils despite the room being serviced earlier. Our friends enjoyed much better service so standards need to be addressed to ensure consistency.
The hotel facilities are nice, however there is an evident lack of upkeep in some areas ranging from missing pool tiles, poor condition deck walkways and dated room interiors. None of this detracted from an enjoyable stay and of particular note were the staff who were always very helpful, friendly and efficient. Big shout out to Jack on reception and Pinky in the resturant who both brought us a smile whenever we saw them.
- CarlT8472 (10/5): Amazing Honeymoon at The Haven - Me and my wife had an amazing honeymoon at the Haven.
The staff, the food, the pool, the beach and the whole hotel was pure paradise!
Rooms spacious and huge comfortable beds, always sunbeds available by the pool, the beach is untouched and naturally beautiful, you get a mat to take to sit on rather than it being cluttered with sunbeds and umbrellas.
Many thanks to Anjali in the restaurant who served us most lunch times and dinner times - amazing friendly service every time with a warm welcome. Also thanks to Rajul for serving our drinks with a smile.
All the other staff, both in the restaurant and everywhere else were also so helpful, friendly and ready to help with whatever you needed.
I recommend this hotel to everyone - you will be so happy here!
- J9737JTjuliew (10/5): Return visit to The Haven - We have just returned home after a second visit to The Haven, Khao Lak. The second visit didn’t disappoint at all. Several staff remembered us from last year and came to say hello on arrival. Our room was beautifully decorated and clean with everything we needed. A couple of issues with hot water and pool towels were quickly rectified for us. We were looking for a relaxing two weeks and that’s exactly what we got. The food was exceptional at before including looking after my gluten free diet. The chefs were so accommodating, making sure I had breakfast items available every day and one day making me gluten free waffles which were amazing. The bar staff were great and the drinks were of good quality.
The pool area does need a bit of a refurb in places but it’s still a lovely pool and cleaned regularly. Extra pool towels are available every day and we never had any issues getting sunbeds.
The hotel offers a free shuttle bus which drops off at either Khao Lak centre or Bang Niang night market. You can either pick the shuttle bus back up a couple of hours later or just do the trip in and grab a taxi back. Taxis are a standard price from the market so it’s easy to see how much you need to pay before you travel.
We can’t finish a review without giving special mention to the staff who made our trip. William and King at the lobby bar, always great to chat to and make the best G&T’s. Guppy and Dear in the pool bar, great drinks especially the smoothies and milk shakes. Restaurant staff were all lovely (we didn’t get everyone’s names unfortunately) but especially Sa who always checked in with us to make sure I got my gluten free items at breakfast. Finally Thor at the pool taking and delivering drinks and food orders. Thank you all for another fabulous holiday!
Whilst we were in Khao Lak we also went to Pam’s for another lovely meal. Find her on Facebook and if you book early enough she will pick you up and return you to the hotel or arrange a taxi, we also did a cooking course (3rd visit) with Ning’s Khao Lak. Great experience at her home following a visit to the market to get ingredients with her husband Jokey. Again she is on Facebook but book in advance to get the date you want. We booked both a couple of months before we travelled. We also booked a days excursion to an elephant sanctuary, turtle conservation, bamboo rafting and the temple with Rung on Tour (also on FB) and had a great time.
- MDS4544 (10/5): Relaxing Ten days of sunshine and great service - After 3 days in Bangkok we chose to finish our Thailand trip at the Haven. It is a quiet location with a traditional village character but has the service and facilities we needed. We went on a fantastic excursion to Surin Island and an inland trip to a market, a temple, bamboo rafting and the elephant sanctuary. Both were easy drives from the hotel and will be in our memories forever.
The beech was literally two minutes walk, the sea was warm and inviting. It isn’t a spot to snorkel but it made a nice change from the pools in the mornings.
The room was large and really comfortable with the biggest bed we have ever slept in. Everything we needed was there and we used it often to chill for an hour before dinner. The hotel is refurbishing later this year and the bathroom, while convenient and clean, was starting to look tired.
While there was only one restaurant, the menu was excellent and varied and there were two themed evenings with Thai food cooked to order, a BBQ and a special night for Chinese new year. We were concerned we might get bored with the food at first but, we enjoyed all our meals there. I am ashamed to admit that, alongside the traditional local food, I had a fantastic burger one night and a top pizza another!
There is a restaurant and a few shops 5 minutes walk away which some of the guests used and enjoyed. The hotel shuttle takes you to the town if you fancy Thai boxing, night market or the restaurants.
The hotel pool is massive and winds its way all round the site. I had a fun 30 mins trying the water scooter and it was the only way an average swimmer like me could explore the whole of the pool. The water was clean and warm and scale of the pool meant the sun beds were plentiful and never more than one row back from the poolside.
The welcome, the service, the drinks, the food and the atmosphere of the Haven gave us the ideal end to our holiday. It might not suit everyone, especially if mobility is an issue, and it has an individual style but we were made very comfortable there.
- m-ives1 (8/5): Recent visit - Just returned from a 9 night break at the haven, over all happy enough with our stay,we stayed in room 1214,
Positives with room -
1 - huge in size
2- massive and comfortable bed
3- nice size shower
Negatives
1- lack of draws for storage.
Food - only had breakfast at the hotel which we found good, plenty of options available, and always a table available
Pool- the pool was massive and perfect temperature.always found a sun bed and umbrella available, shame the hotel don’t have sun beds available on the beach though.
Gym - opens 6am to 9 pm
Free weights, treadmill, bike and cross trainer available, room had air con and was never busy.decent enough if you enjoy exercising when away.
Staff- everyone we spoke to were friendly, helpful with any questions we had and very polite.
Few moans we had at hotel,we arrived at 10:40 pm,and after a very long journey to get there we were all very hungry, there was nothing available at the hotel to eat,the kitchen closes at 10:30 pm,the restaurants close enough to walk to were also closed, the hotel are aware what time you arrive so may be could look into this issue to help future guests.
- rebeccaeH4092TT (10/5): ‘The Haven’ by name ‘The Haven’ by nature - In the last week of January my husband and I enjoyed a very relaxing, completely self-absorbent holiday at this beautiful resort. We just needed some relaxation and switch off from the world time. We didn’t want shopping and night clubs so if this is what you are looking for in Thailand then this is not your destination. You can find markets and night life in Bang Naing down the road, but The Haven is quiet and secluded, surrounded by the most spectacularly lengthy salt water pools complete with swim-up bars with a plethora of cocktails and drinks to order with bar food on offer as well. During our 7 day stay we met so many of the staff and they were all so friendly and eager to make our stay very comfortable. To name a few: James was an excellent host and ensured we were enjoying every aspect of our stay, Ankit whisked away our empty breakfast dishes, Rung whipped up fabulous Thai omelettes as well as many other freshly cooked breakfast delights, Thor (not related to Chris Hemsworth he advised!) was an excellent host around the pool delivering cocktails and towels to deck chair dwellers etc, Anjeli was our Restaurant hostess, always greeting us by name, having a chat and directing us to our favourite table, Boy endured my very uncoordinated beach yoga and stretching each morning (various free activities were offered at the resort during the day), and May our Cleaner had our room sparkling and refreshed complete with a new folded towel animal each day on our return to our room. We stayed in a beachfront villa which had direct access to the pool and our own jacuzzi and spectacular views to the sea. Meals at the resort were delicious and fresh and ranged from traditional Thai to all kinds of European dishes (due to the high number of European guests that stay at the resort to soak up the sun and escape their freezing winters). We did a Thai cooking class, delicious - don’t over eat at breakfast though because you eat what you cook and it’s a 3 course meal! Sightseeing was easy to arrange either through the hotel or the taxi service just outside the hotel will take you to see Elephants, turtles and any number of other beaches and destinations, including our return trip to Phuket Airport. We were able to fly direct from Sydney to Phuket however we didn’t take into account that The Haven (Khao Lak) is over 80kms north of Phuket, roughly 1.5 hours away and with the 4 hour time difference, it meant we arrived by private transfer from the airport at 12am (4am Sydney time), we were extremely tired from the trip - so would recommend a stay over in Phuket before heading up to The Haven. Some of the reviews I’ve seen mention the the pool requires some maintenance with tiles needing replacing etc and yes the pool and surrounds do get a beating from the salt water and would be a nightmare to upkeep. However the pools (& jacuzzis) were regularly cleaned and monitored. We highly recommend The Haven for a perfectly relaxing stay and will definitely be returning for our next mind/body reboot.
- karlwP3333IO (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Fantastic staff, location is a little out of town but hotel has an amazing beach, food great and pool temperature perfect. Taxis and free shuttle busses in and out of town, about 10/15 mins, try the elephant bathing and temple trip... beat advice is go to one of the tour operators in the town and tell them you are on a limited time holiday. We then had our own personal guide take us to the 3 things we wanted to see in around 3 hrs, much better. Avoided all queues as we arrived not with a bus load of people. Cost around £70 for a couple, temple tour , waterfalls and bathed the elephants... will never forget the experience. This hotel is a perfect get away from it all, tie it in with a stay or 2 at another resort, maybe in krabi or phuket... but do yoirself a favour and spend the middle or last part of your vacation at this wonderful place.
Thank you Jack , hes guy in the picture 😁🙏
- alanbV4140SL (10/5): Peace & Tranquility in abundance @ The Haven Khao Lak - I can highly recommend this hotel. It is wonderful. The rooms and facilities are spotlessly clean. The staff are super friendly and efficient. The gardens are well kept and tidy and the swimming pool is spectacular. This hotel is off the beaten track right on the beach and is perfect for peace and quiet. The onsite restaurant and bars are good and reasonably priced and there are a handful of alternatives dotted along the the beach road. The hotel runs a shuttle bus into town and the night market twice a day in the afternoon but a cab costs only 300 baht each way, if you prefer to make your own way. Overall we have had a lovely time at the Haven and we would definitely come back.

- Hotlips12 (10/5): Tanned and relaxed - Where do I start? We arrived late at night and the resort looked stunning. We had a pool access room and it was perfectly located. The room was clean and the super king bed was so comfortable. The resort itself had a beautiful tropical vibe, adults only which meant no noise, it was so peaceful and relaxing, especially when lying by the pool and listening to the sea. The amenities were great, massive pool and plenty of lounges, 2 swim up bars, nice restaurant for dinner and breakfast was nice with choices.
The staff are beautiful and very friendly.
The pool area was maintained and was clean everyday. The staff in the Aqua Spa were gorgeous and the massages were spot on.
The location was serene, although gorgeous it was a fair way away from the main Phuket area, 1.5 hours drive to Patong. There is Kao Lak centre and Biang Niang markets but still a good 15 min drive.
I would definitely come back again. If you want peace and quiet to relax, this is the place to come to.
Thank you for our beautiful experience for our 1st time in Thailand.
- julou1 (10/5): Brilliant holiday - Superb location to relax and unwind the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble the menu catered for all and was enjoyed by all, bar staff were a delight.
Overall we will be returning for another holiday really great holiday.
- raveheg (10/5): Haven ***** - Was amazing hotel.! Very enjoy the room, food, services and all.
- 443pp (10/5): Welcoming and relaxing - My family had a memorable stay for a week. The hotel is comfortable, clean and conveniently located by the beach. The staff were respectful and friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the morning yoga. Special thanks to the staff we saw almost daily during yoga, breakfast and restaurant, housekeeping (Anjali, Jeff, Fah, Nischal, Sa, Popcorn, Boi, Ching).
Got to see the best sunset daily.
Thankyou foryour hospitality.
- neil_pxtel (10/5): We had an amazing stay at The Haven Khao Lak. Everything was beautiful, clean and so relaxing. - We had an amazing stay at The Haven Khao Lak. Everything was beautiful, clean and so relaxing, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A special shoutout to Popcorn from the activities and entertainment team. He is truly the man that can do it all. Always smiling, full of energy and such a genuinely good person, he made our trip even more fun and memorable. We would happily come back again.
- mikehO6483WE (10/5): 5th Time Here - This is now our 5th time here and all visits have been amazing. Rooms are the best Ive ever stayed in with huge beds that give the best sleep. Pool the best Ive ever used with the sea which is like a hot bath a step away. Reception staff are brilliant any issues are resolved within minutes. Staff are all great but I must give a big congratulations to two who are just totally awesome they are Jack on Reception and Jorb in restaurant and bars. Breakfast is really good with stunning views. If you visit the Haven I can say you’re in for a magical wonderful experience and coming back 5 times says it all.
- anthonywM9157SF (10/5): Heaven - 2nd time for us at the Haven beautiful hotel. The staff are brilliant nothing to much trouble very friendly and polite. Rooms are large and cleaned daily by Tang thank you. The pool is amazing as was our swim up room. Thanks to Thor the pool waiter. The grounds are brilliant lovely bushes and flowers with loads of wildlife. The beach and views are stunning we had some awesome sunsets this year. If you want a subed on the beach turn left on the beach 400 yds there's sunbeds. Huts and a bar and food. A stroll up the road brings you to a couple of bars and restaurants the Andaman was a favourite of ours with Hugh. Minky. Grumpy. In all another fantastic holiday at the Haven thank you to all the staff.
- burn666 (10/5): The Haven Khao Lak - luxury by the beach - Great location with efficient and friendly staff and a lovely swim up room cleaned and fresh towels every day. Very laid back and quiet vibe but Popcorn the activities guy made sure that everyone was welcome at all of the activities. We were on an all inclusive package but meals and drinks pricing seemed reasonable.
- shanem4 (10/5): Recent stay - Recently stayed for 10 nights, split over 2 weeks.
Lovely quiet hotel with lovely helpful staff,
First 5 nights we had a deluxe room, large spaciouse and clean. All we required, and hoped for.
After spending 3 nights at elephant hills, we returned to the haven, and we're given a upgrade to a pool room, 😊.And it was a really nice suprise, and did not disappoint.
Same type of room, quiet and private.
Clean and well looked after by the cleaning staff.
The location is great, the beach amazing and secluded.
A little shop a 5 minute walk, but more variety than hotels own shop, and cheaper☺️.
We are a couple of times in hotel, but found it bit quiet for us, the other nights we went into town, taxi 300 bath each way.
Lovely stay in beautiful thiland, koah lack.
Thanks to all at the haven, hope to return
- 532hyungjul (10/5): We had a wonderful time at the Haven. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere with a great service. Will definitely come back! - We had a wonderful vacation at The Haven. Quiet, peaceful atmosphere with great service. We will definitely come back soon!
- wilsoniancat22 (8/5): Fabulous holiday, nearly perfect. - Really enjoyed our 10 night stay at the Haven. So many positive things with a few niggles that take a * off the final rating
We loved the location as we wanted peace and quiet and this definitely ticked that box.
We were kindly upgraded to a swim up room and this was such a lovely surprise. Best of all it was south facing so we got the sun all day and this came in very handy a couple of times - details in a bit!
Room was great but too little drawer space, no power points by bed and a dark dingy bathroom being the only negatives
Room was clean, beds comfy and shower was excellent. Never had issues with hot water.
Pool area was amazing, we loved the huge saltwater pool and the loungers were very comfortable.
I’m an early bird on holiday and was down there by 0700 every morning, never any trouble getting my fave one every day, however, if you got there after 0830 you’d struggle to get a bed and none on beach sadly.
The pool guy would come and put stickers on your table if you left for even just 10 mins which was irritating especially as I lay on my bed for over an hour then went to breakfast with my friend who’d been doing yoga - the guy saw me every day so knew I wasn’t taking the p, yet still put a sticker on my table. I never actually saw him remove anyone’s stuff though
Beach is gorgeous and deserted.
We decided to pay for all inclusive (extra 2500thb pp per day) and it was worth it in our opinion. The food was superb - we only ever did the à la carte - there was so much choice and we absolutely loved every meal we had. Love Thai food and oh my it was so good
Cocktails were great and unlimited - we def got out moneys worth!
We just didn’t want to go into the town every night and although there are some nice looking places a 5 min walk, we just wanted to get dressed up and stay on site for ease. We didn’t like the times the free shuttle operated as it was too early for us and we figured paying around £14 return
in a cab each night wasn’t worth it - plus we thought the town was tacky and unpleasant.
Breakfast was really good with lots of choice and we loved feeding the koi in the pond
All the employees we met were awesome. Especially reception and the restaurant staff. So polite, friendly and fun. We really loved them all and like others have said they work long hours and so hard to make sure all guests are happy. Special mention to William at the Angel bar, he’s a real character and we loved our pre dinner cocktail with him every night
So the few niggles - 1st it’s not a true adults only as they allow kids from the age of 12?! Now the majority of the younger kids that were there were actually very well behaved, quiet and no bother. But there were some older teenagers who were often annoying and acting like typical teenagers - which is what they are so not exactly unexpected but irritating at a resort wanting to be adults only. I personally feel adults only should be 18+
On Xmas Eve they took away all the loungers by the pool to set up for their evening event meaning that unless you sat on a towel on the beach, the option was stuck in your room which we and other guests felt was somewhat inappropriate- this is where we were so lucky with our lovely south facing pool room but others were not as fortunate
Then on the 27th they started setting up for NYE and the banging and hammering at the pool area was really annoying and totally disturbed the peace and tranquility - forcing us back again to the quiet of our room.
Another guest has written about this earlier and the hotel claim no one else was bothered.
This is NOT true. Many guests - including us - we chatted with found it very annoying but people didn’t want to make a fuss on their holidays, so just moaned about it around the pool. Not sure why the work couldn’t have been carried out around 4pm onwards when most people had left the area? Just a suggestion for next year maybe
So apart from a few negatives we did have a super vacation and would definitely recommend it.
- Passport793662 (8/5): Nice Christmas Holiday - The hotel is a bit older, but super well designed and in a beautiful setting.
pros
-quiet place
-beautiful beach and warm sea
-great food and drinks in all inclusive
-friendly staff in the restaurant and bar
-beautiful nature
cons
-cleanliness
-room cleaning
-little space to store clothes
Despite the small shortcomings, we enjoyed our Christmas stay even though we are demanding travelers.
- peterjW8253LP (6/5): Not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties - We booked through TUI requesting special assistance as my wife has walking difficulties and and cannot manage multiple stairs. Despite booking months in advance and reconfirming 3 week before we left that there would be suitable room on arrival the room we where shown was totally unsuitable up three flights of stairs and the only lift in the building was from drop off to reception on the 3 floor. My wife could not climb the steep stairs to even view the room. I arrived in a wheelchair from the taxi to reception so how the hotel thought this room was suitable I have no idea.
The only option offered was an expensive upgrade or a move to another hotel that would have involved an extra cost. We very reluctantly paid for the upgrade to a swim up room which helped to minimise the number of stairs but no way a perfect solution.
The resort itself has steep uneven steps everywhere from the breakfast area to the restaurant to the pool area making it impossible to get around without assistance.
This is in no way mentioned by TUI or The Haven Hotel on their websites.
This Hotel is not suitable for anybody who has any form of walking difficulty. We saw numerous people struggling around the resort. We feel were miss sold this holiday and were very disappointed as we have travelled with TUI many time and never had this issue in Thailand before.
On return my wife spend time in Hospital with a damaged knee and is still recovering now. Not the Christmas we were looking forward to.
- jessicajI5043LE (10/5): Great place - Very nice and relaxing place. Great food and many options to do yoga, thai boxning and other activities. (Thanks to Popcorn, Boy and Dern) The straff was very friendly and supporting.
- alisontA360SR (2/5): Think Twice - Certainly not a 5 star hotel!! Our ten day holiday has turned out to be an eight day one. Due to the inconvenience of the hotel putting on a Xmas show….. no loungers to relax on for a whole day and today the noise of banging all day due to them putting scaffolding in the pool for another show. Also today they have put notices on tables that if you leave your lounger for 20 mins they will remove your belongings. So it seems you cannot go for a walk on the beach, go to the swim up bar, or go for your lunch Unless you can do it in less than 20 mins. There answer to my questioning this was you have loungers in your room. A very dissatisfying response. I holiday 3 times a year all over the world. I’ve been to Thailand 3 times before and never experienced anything like this. Disappointing as they have certainly lost any future bookings with me I’m afraid.
- denisebU7843VK (10/5): Beautiful hotel and amazing staff - We returned for the 3rd time and again outstanding from the minute we arrived reception staff very helpful and informative, helped in booking a swim up room. Jorm and the outstanding restaurant and bar staff exceptional nothing ever too much, polite and welcoming, food amazing. Christmas party night was fantastic again went above and beyond with presentation and food. Rooms lovely and spacious comfortable bed. Location fabulous, very clean. Will definitely be returning.
- antonyc40 (10/5): The perfect place to unwind. Paradise found ! - This hotel is somewhere you'll want to book again. The staff are excellent, the food is good, and the vibe of the place is great.
Situated in goldilocks territory, that is to say not too far away from the action in town (about £8 by taxi, or less if you hire a scooter) and far enough away to be secluded.
The nature and trees and plants around the complex lend a peaceful serenity to the place and the beach is literally on the hotel's doorstep.
One tiny bone to pick however, there's not enough storage for clothes for two people on a fortnight holiday, could do with some drawers and more hangers. But we managed OK.
EXCELLENT HOTEL AND STAFF
- J12QPjulieb (10/5): Heaven at The Haven - Best resort ever! The staff are 10 star wonderful people cateting to every wish. The food and drink package was over and above expectation. Ambience, cleanliness, friendliness, all facilities were superb. The Aqua Spa became our happly place. Experienced staff and serenity. Heaven in The Haven 🥰😍😁
- Sightseer18472987612 (10/5): The Haven - or The Heaven - I stayed 6 nights together with my daughter in the Jacuzzi Beach Villa at The Haven.
Wow, what an experience! The hotel is a bit outside the village of Khao Lak, but this makes it unique. Directly at the wonderful beach, totally empty, clear water. Our villa had direct access to the pools and poolbars. Nice terasse with jacuzzi, spacy rooms, chilling chairs…nothing missed.
The breakfast and restaurant/poolbar service excellent. But May, our room service employee, was the highlight of the hotel. Her daily room services were unbelievable…she deserves a pay raise 😁
- LisaI257 (8/5): Nice resort but room for improvement - Having stayed at the JW Marriott our last 4 visits to Khao Lak, we wanted to try something different. To be honest we were a little disappointed and will go back to the Marriott next time.
Pros
Room were large and clean and cleaning staff were friendly
Pool set up was great with multiple pools and swim up rooms
Breakfast Buffett had a great variety of good quality food
Check out process was smooth and we appreciated the staff’s resourcefulness in getting us to our airport pick up when a tree fell over and blocked the road.
Cons
Bathrooms are 2 star at best and desperately need renovating. They were dark, there was mould on the bench and the hot water was not reliable. We were also asked to put our used toilet paper in a bin rather than flushing which I have not experienced at a luxury hotel before.
Service was not great - our check in was not very welcoming and breakfast Buffett was understaffed. We often waited a while to be seated and also to have plates cleared from the table.
Restaurant was underwhelming - we only ate there once and were put off by the service. We felt rushed for example, plates were cleared when we were still finishing our last mouthful and we were asked if we wanted to order dessert when 2 of us were still finishing our mains.
Spa was underwhelming - we had better massages in the beachside venues up the road. We had a free one hour massage as part of our package but it only ran for 45 mins.
- L91NSarthurb (10/5): The Haven hotel a Thailand holiday experience. Brilliant - I read that some people saying the hotel is dated, run down and in need of maintenance, a bit right in a way BUT the quality of the rooms, reception area, restaurants, bars and sun decks is outstanding. The whole place is in keeping with the surroundings area, quiet and peaceful. Just the place for a seriously relaxing holiday. All the staff are amazing, Dream and all the reception staff will sort anything out. William in the angel wing bar brilliant. Sa in breakfast restaurant was so pleasant. And a very special mention to Pratikshya in the vongole restaurant always greeted you with a beautiful smile and is an absolute credit to the Haven family. By the way the meals were awesome. The whole experience of staying here will stay in our hearts as the best holiday we’ve ever had.
Stayed in room 1110 from 29-11-25 to 13-12-257
- LucyMay18 (10/5): Its…☁️🤍HeAVENly…☁️🤍 - It was☁️🤍☁️🤍☁️ H(e)AVENly☁️🤍☁️🤍☁️….highly recommended🔝
💦💙Pool landscape is truly unique ✨⭐️
Staff very friendly 💜 beach 🏝️ is a stay to linger….
- Explore23292456491 (10/5): Great time at The Haven - Really good time, lovely staff and facilities. Breakfast buffet was really good variety and the lunch and dinner were great. Loved the 2 hour free flow cocktails.
- shanepA3679HG (10/5): Team Percy flop and drop holiday Khao Lak Haven resort - We came for an 11day flop and drop holiday, explicitely a no children resort, pools, spa, massages, all inclusive meals / drink pack and most of all peace and quiet. Haven resort delivered on all the above. The resort is getting a little old (still beautiful dont get me wrong), but all in all it didnt bother us at all. The friendly staff and number of them , make you feel like a king and queen.
We had a fantastic time here - wish it could have lasted longer.
- yasmindR9452JR (10/5): Amazing, 10/10 - Amazing! Staff were excellent, extremely friendly, helpful. Nothing is too much. They were very helpful when it came to my Gluten Allergy and not to mention the lay out of the hotel! Hotel is clean and comfortable. Value for money is good and nice entertainment at evenings.
- 287kanec (10/5): Amazing Honeymoon location and the best staff ever! - Amazing resort with the most accomodating staff we have ever had. They all went above and beyond for my wife and I on our honeymoon. We will be recommending this place to all our friends and we will be returning at some point in the near future without a doubt! Thanks so much. Kane and Ash
- Leesh_part (2/5): Got severe food poisoning, absolutely do not recommend coming here - LONG REVIEW - BUT PLEASE READ.
I stayed here with my boyfriend for 5 days during December. When we arrived the staff were very friendly and I had pre-arranged a birthday setup in the room which had been done - this was great. The staff were friendly and the resort itself is pretty but seems a bit outdated - there was mould in the pool, rust on stairs, wooden panels loose etc - it’s a bit different to the pictures advertised on TUI! The cleaners are sweet & the bar man in reception was kind to us.
We arrived on a Monday, and we ate at the hotels restaurant for lunch & dinner. On the early hours of Tuesday morning, myself & my partner came down with severe food poisoning - unfortunately for myself I had reoccurring symptoms for the rest of my stay (a further 5 days!) and when I got back to the UK I was taken to A&E a few hours after landing because of how unwell I was.
Below is a timeframe of our experience with the food poisoning and how the hotel did or did not support us:
Monday:
- arrived at the hotel & had a nice welcome
- ate lunch & dinner at the hotels restaurant (for reference we believe the chicken pad Thai and chicken massaman curry were what gave us food poisoning)
Tuesday:
- came down with severe food poisoning at 5am. Myself AND my boyfriend had symptoms at the same time so he had to use a public toilet - this was really uncomfortable for him and it isn’t a situation he should’ve had to be in!!!
- we called reception to ask for toilet roll which they brought to the room
- we asked reception if they had medication and we were told we had to speak to a Dr - we declined this option at that current time
- we spent the whole day in the room, attempting to sleep or experiencing re-occurring symptoms
- in the evening we called reception to ask for a banana or bread to be brought to the room to see if our stomachs could handle it - we were told this was not a request that could be done (only to find the next day there was bananas and slices of bread at breakfast!!!!)
- we received a call from reception, I think it was a manager, who was apologising that no one had helped us during the day - they asked us if we would meet with the food and beverage manager in the morning to discuss the situation and they also asked us if we needed a Dr again but we declined as honestly we didn’t want to bother them and we felt like we might’ve been improving - based on the usual theory it lasts 24 hours we assumed we had gotten through the worst of it (unfortunately we were wrong!)
- my boyfriend took a trip (while feeling very unwell) to a local 7/11 to get bread since the hotel couldn’t provide us with any (this made me so angry because he only went since the hotel could not help us - he was not in a condition to do this and nearly threw up on the back of the tuk tuk but he did it because he wanted me to get better). He also went to a pharmacy to get us medication.
Wednesday:
- We met with the food & beverage manager & head chef - The hotel asked us to meet with them. We discussed what happened and were all in agreement that it was likely the chicken that made us unwell - from the discussion it sounded like the chicken might’ve been “left out” or “on the side”? They advised us it is uncommon for guests to get food poisoning which we understood but we still pushed the fact that we had it and we had it very severely, too.
- We were still not feeling well enough to eat properly but luckily we didn’t have symptoms this day - I only ate cereal/slice of bread/banana from the breakfast bar following our chat with the manager and a few chips for lunch and my boyfriend tried a pizza
Thursday:
- We met with our TUI rep to complain - she said since we didn’t have a Dr’s note it would be hard to put a formal complaint in because there was no proof we had food poisoning. Our TUI rep also said if we went in the sea or pool it could’ve contributed to us being unwell - I had been in the sea but my partner had not… she emphasised she was not siding with the hotel but she also had to argue their side of things. She also said since she didn’t have any other guests complaining of food poisoning it was harder to do things for us. We were given a voucher of “good will” from TUI which we appreciated but it didn’t make how unwell we were okay.
- I still wasn’t eating any meals - we were too scared to eat anywhere in Thailand again & anytime I went near food I felt like I could throw up.
- I had arranged a private romantic dinner via the hotel for this day for my boyfriends birthday - I had to cancel it because we did not trust the hotels cooking anymore & we also both weren’t eating proper meals at this point anyway
Friday:
- We chanced eating at an external restaurant because we hadn’t had a proper meal since Monday evening but my symptoms of wanting to vomit when eating were still there. I tried a minestrone soup & was then symptomatic again for 4 hours as well as suffering with pain which was constant and had been on and off since the Monday anyway - this was hours before we were due to be taken to the airport to go home. My boyfriend managed to stomach that meal ok. I was really upset because I was frightened to travel an 18 hour journey home so unwell.
- We checked out and the food and beverage manager agreed we didn’t have to pay for the meal that made us sick - a good gesture but again, it didn’t make the experience okay for us
Saturday:
- We flew back to London early hours Saturday morning. I was in pain from the food poisoning for the whole journey but luckily I was not symptomatic on the journey - I tried some bread, a little bit of cake & 4 mouth fulls of chicken and rice (remember, at this point I had not eaten a full meal in 5 days so I risked eating on the plane). I arrived back in the UK - my cab dropped me home and within an hour of being home I went to A&E because of how sick I was. I was still symptomatic in hospital - 6 days since initially consuming the meal that made us sick. I was told by a UK consultant that I had very severe food poisoning which could last up to 2 weeks. I was tested for alternative infections which were clear - confirming it was definitely just severe food poisoning. I have been given tablets to stop me from feeling/being sick when I eat so that I can actually eat to build my tolerance for food up again. I just have to deal with the other symptoms while I do this. I did not have a proper meal for 6 days!
Overall, our stay at The Haven has been awful. We did not feel comfortable eating once we had food poisoning & this has been the worse case of food poisoning I have ever had - I am still not right as I write this review and I am now 7 days on from becoming unwell. While staff are friendly at the hotel we have found that during our experience of being unwell the general feeling was that we couldn’t be helped or that no one was willing to acknowledge that we were actually ill, just because no other guests were.
If you’re travelling to this hotel I’d be very careful with what you eat.
This was an extremely disappointing end to our holiday since we missed out on a day as we were stuck in the room, and it ruined all of the days after because we could not do all of the things we wanted to do and most importantly we didn’t EAT!!!!
It’s unfortunately put us off of coming back to Thailand altogether - that’s how badly we got unwell. We would not return to this hotel ever again and I definitely would not recommend it to anyone we know.
- GaargiPacho (10/5): A Truly Memorable Stay at The Haven Khao Lak - We visited The Haven Khao Lak to celebrate my mom’s 66th birthday, and our 5-night stay was wonderful from check-in to check-out. The property’s location is perfect with a beautiful, clean beach accessible 24/7.
A special mention to Dream, who assisted us when we arrived. He was an absolute delight to interact with and checked in on us throughout our stay. On Mom’s birthday, the restaurant staff surprised us with a small cake and even decorated our table such a thoughtful gesture that truly touched me.
We had booked a Oceanfront Jacuzzi Villa room, so we woke up to stunning beach views and the soothing sound of waves. The villa has its own jacuzzi, and every room opens directly into a shared pool that leads all the way to the main area and the pool bar .. you can literally swim from your room to the bar and back! The cocktails there are excellent too.
The restaurant menu is limited, but whatever they serve is delicious. The breakfast buffet is elaborate with plenty of options. The spa’s foot reflexology was outstanding ... we fell asleep within minutes!
There’s also a taxi point right at the property entrance, making it super convenient to get around. Most rides were at a fixed rate of about 300 Thai Baht.
I can’t wait to return to this place. Thank you, Dream, for being warm, kind, cheerful, and treating us like your own. And a shoutout to Sharad as well ... such a sweet gentleman, originally from Nepal.
- liamdominic (10/5): Fantastic holiday - We loved our stay for just over 2 weeks we went all inclusive and really enjoyed the food the staff, the cleaning staff were amazing, we went on a few trips. Recommend the Elephants and James Bond Island (full trip) value for money was amazing. The only downside was after 14 hours travel being asked for a 3000 baht deposit and not be fully explained what it was for. We paid it and it was the little extra you pay on all inclusive for things like steak and lobster which is fair enough and at the end of holiday they handed it back. Good idea but I would wait a day first before explaining this. I would go again- trip of a life time - Loved it - oh never seen the TUI rep all holiday but reception was excellent
- chihuahua (4/5): Misleading and inaccurate star rating. - If you have read any of my reviews before you’ll know I try to be fair and considerate to the staff and the local people who work with in the hotel industry. That will still apply here.
We stayed in November for 11 nights.
The staff here are amazing, nothing is too much trouble they are incredibly polite and respectful. We stayed on an all inclusive basis.
The food was good and we enjoyed the BBQ buffet on a few nights.
Not much to do here and during the evening meal you’ll be serenaded by either a duo, or a lone guitar player.
Our room was ok, needed a bit of TLC but just about acceptable, sheets and bath towels were clean and soft.
We stayed in a swim up room, which was roomy and eventually we sorted out the a/c.
The downside of this hotel is that the ‘Haven’ is a four star platinum hotel that has been neglected and badly in need of some upgrading.
There is a lot of decking that has been seriously badly maintained.
It’s rotten in places, has screws dangerously protruding, The decking that has been replaced is either not wide enough or is not level. Around the pool area it actually bounces when anyone walks on it.
There are tiles missing in the pools, electrical wires dangling over the water. Some of the serving areas are mouldy and rusty. I actually cut myself on the plastic trim on the dining chairs.
Electrical sockets are hanging out of the walls.
The planters around the pool have tiles missing, broken creating a very sharp edge. The lift which is a clear tube has tree roots growing in to the shaft and the metal structure holding the thing up is rusty and the concrete is crumbling.
Our swim up pool had green mould around the edges of water jets.
The beach towels were fraying and the sunshades had holes in them.
Some of the buildings were showing signs of neglect, and had bits of plaster missing.
I could go on.
We did speak to our TUI rep about all of this and left a phone number for her to contact us. We asked for an incident number. Sadly we never received a reply.
All of the above can be backed by photographs, lots of photographs.
I would seriously consider staying at another hotel in Khao Lak.
- 643nikie (10/5): Lovely relaxing couples holiday. - Lovely pool and access to the beach. Buffet breakfast was really good, gym facilities were decent and poolside service was really nice.
- gaminec2019 (10/5): Beautiful & Relaxing - Our stay at The Haven was spectacular. We were greeted with smiling faces and everyone was so polite and attentive.
The rooms are large and spacious with a nice balcony. We found the beds to be quite comfortable.
Breakfast is really good with a nice variety to choose from. Having breakfast while gazing at the Andaman Sea was pure bliss.
They have themed dinner nights, we chose the Thai Night Market Buffet. Believe me, it did not disappoint!! We tried several different dishes, which were all delicious.
We plan on returning to enjoy the beauty, quietness and outstanding service at The Haven.
- saralQ8553BJ (8/5): Lovely hotel - Lovely hotel with the kindest staff. A little overprized food and massage but that’s okay because down the street the food and massage is amazing AND cheap. Good location by the beach and opportunities to go downtown or wherever really. Overall satisfied.
- 298tumh (10/5): Great activities! - Excellent activities every day especially the coconut leaf folding !By kun dern! A. The keep fit classes are also great fun with kun popcorn and kun boy and all the other team members of the Haven !
- Companion33398784401 (10/5): Lovely staff - Hotel was lovely and particularly the staff that were so nice and always willing to help. Special thanks to Dern who took us on a bicycle trip he was very good and knowledgeable. Also all the staff doing the yoga , stretching and Pilates classes.
- laura52 (10/5): The Haven - We chose the Haven because the pictures looked amazing and the reviews were great. The hotel didn't disappoint. The rooms were spacious, clean and with a rainfall shower and massive bed. We had the swim up room which was perfect for us and there was a small mini bar which you can stock up yourself but you do get some complimentary bottles of water each day which was ideal if you just wanted to relax on your own terrace.
The staff at the hotel were all outstanding from front of house, restaurant staff, concierge, house keeping and grounds staff. They will all make the effort to smile and say hello.
A massive shout out of appreciation to Dern, Boy, Popcorn, Fat and Feerun. They made my holiday so much more enjoyable. My main reason for coming to Thailand was to do some Muay Thai training. I was reluctant to travel to a proper gym as the cost of the taxis and walking in to a new class on my own was a little daunting. Between them all, they made sure I had a private class 9 days out of the 14 (this was due to being on excursions the other days. Their knowledge and support was brilliant with each bringing their own individual strengths offering me the best way to learn. Thank you all for your help. I will miss training with you all. They also do other activities so as towel folding, leaves folding, bag painting and aqua aerobics.
There is a free shuttle bus which runs to the Town area and then the market when that is on. It runs once or twice a day. It does book up fast so if you need to get a taxi, it is around 300thb each way to the town or market.
Plugs in the hotel accommodate most plugs. We travelled from the UK and we're able to fit our 3 pin plugs in all of the sockets.
Beach is beautiful and clean but waves were high whilst we were there with Jelly Fish so unable to swim.
- nickernog (10/5): Beautiful Hotel - The hotel is in a beautiful location, just off the beach. If you do not like the sea, the pool was rather big. So not to worry. There is also a shuttle bus that needs to be booked in advance. The hotel is tranquil offering plenty of place to relax, including the spa where we indulged in a Thai Massage. There is a gym, which i didnt use and a timetable of classes which you can get involved in, however, the website slightly differed to the programme. So, i was not able to do my planned session. The hotel also also offers event nights however the noise level only was heard on one night which there was a wedding being celebrated, but there was great music, so was happy to be disturbed. The outside music did stop at 10pm, which i thought was reasonable. The room that we stayed in was clean and spacious and could not have asked for more really. The maid service was brill even using our glasses as part of a feature on a towel fold, which was humorous. All in all, the overall stay at The Haven was brilliant and was worth every penny paid. I would advise, if you are a vegetarian, the buffet nights may not suit, but the menu provided does not highlight that the meals are suitable for vegetarian. However, upon request a curry was made for me with vegetables and Tofu, so was not an issue. All in all, very happy guests.
- beckypP6874VA (10/5): Incredible Hotel - Our 14 night holiday has just ended here and I have only positive feedback on this incredible hotel!
The atmosphere is calm, quiet, relaxing and chilled. Complete serenity here. Even whilst having breakfast you are surrounded by the sounds of waves and singing birds amongst the trees. You can only pay for that kind of experience in the UK at the rainforest cafe in London!
Food was tasting and the staff are friendly, attentive and always have a smile on their faces.
Rooms are clean and have all the amenities you need, including a fresh beach towel daily.
Sunsets on the beautiful beach are out of this world.
Excursion highlights have to be the elephant sanctuary, Similan islands, Surin islands and the Thai cooking experience. Bang niang night market runs on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays and has a great vibrant, fun, lively vibe.
We would recommend The Haven hotel to anyone who is looking for an amazing, peaceful, tranquil experience and we are very sad to be leaving!
Thank you so much to the Haven for our incredible stay and giving us fond memories to last a life time!!!
We hope to see you again soon x

- 107kellib (10/5): Beautiful resort with wonderful staff - First and foremost, the staff are AMAZING!! We felt so welcomed and very well taken care of while there. The resort is beautiful.
- E54SWheatherg (8/5): Wonderful - Very very peaceful. The location is beautiful if u want a quiet place to stay as it’s just couples ,There is however a wonderful little shop that can do ur washing for 80Bhat a kilo and bar / Restaurant next door. The Haven was wonderful and u cannot fault any one, because they are the most amazing staff ,they go above and beyond to help u
- callumd414 (10/5): Must come - Absolutely stunning place, the pool is spectacular and all the staff are nothing but friendly and will do anything for you will 1000% be coming again next year.
- 441nyreep (10/5): Incredible - We have had a wonderful holiday at the haven. Location is brilliant the hotel is superb. All the staff are great and really kind. We have made some lovely memories here and we are already planning our return. This was our first trip to Thailand and the people here are a real credit to the country, they are as beautiful as the scenery. This holiday will be hard to beat else where in the world. Thank you to all at the haven. This will always hold a special place in our hearts . X
- lewispI4422QS (10/5): I wish i could live here! - Unreal holiday, staff are all so friendly and nothing is too much bother.
Accomodation and facilities are excellent.
Food was spot on, drinks were beautifull.
Quite location, 10mins taxi to town.
20 second walk to an empty beach with lovely warm sea.
No complaints and will definately return.
- Washobuilder (8/5): Relaxing - The last leg of a two week multi stop for us.
Yes it’s quite isolated, but a short walk and there are several dining options and a couple of bars.
If you want to go into town there is a d as hurried bus twice a day.
300 baht by taxi.
The longer I’ve been here the more I’ve enjoyed its isolation.
Yes it needs a bit of TLC here and there but it’s a tropical destination with quite a bit of timber, giving it a jungle feel.
We have enjoyed our stay and would recommend if you want to relax.
- U153OUlizh (10/5): Overall excellent holiday - The hotel is about 10 mins drive from the centre and it’s really easy to get taxis in and out. The hotel is situated right on a beautiful beach which is quiet and great for the sunset.
Rooms were lovely, we were in a villa with a lovely sea view and could hear the waves - but we were in shade from about 10am which meant if we wanted sun we had to go to the main pool.
Rooms cleaned everyday but this is Thailand, where it’s hot and humid most of the year so don’t expect pristine. The rooms has great facilities and a bonus Nespresso machine!
Food and drinks plentiful, food was lovely, lots of choice and variety- we love Thai food so we were in f old heaven!
What stands out the most are the staff, they are welcoming, hard working and will do anything for you. They are amazing and really helpful. Special thanks to Kumana and singhita for making us feel so welcome and the Thor and King for the amazing cocktails!
- Lianne1970 (10/5): Visit of a life time. - Fabulous stay at the Haven. Everybody was so attentive. Place was stunning. Swim up pool. Huge bedrooms. Great sleep. Best beds ever!!! Perfect trip away with hubby, sister and brother in law. Plenty of time to relax and unwind, with other places near by if we wanted to venture out.
Was sad to be leaving.
- Rethlyn (10/5): The honeymoon to remember - The location was breathtaking, it was our first trip to Thailand and we came for our Honeymoon. The setting was so magical and it was the tropical paradise we were after.
We decided to stay in The Havens deluxe villa with our own jacuzzi and swim up from the main pool. It was delightful experience to wake up and have a view from our large bay windows of the beach and palm trees. The staff also designed our bed with towels of two swans and a message saying ‘happy honeymoon’ these small touches really made us feel welcomed. The room was also very clean with everything provided and more.
We opted for all inclusive however we did order room service for a couple of nights and it was considerably affordable
Regarding noise level the only noise we had was hearing the birds and insects. Which we found quite therapeutic as it was a change to hearing traffic and people living in the city of London.
- K696OAterryb (10/5): The staff are amazing as is the location. - The staff and location made this for us. The location was perfect for us and right on the beach and the staff, just beautiful and brilliant in every way, would highly recommend.
- kevinjohn1993 (10/5): The Place to Stay in Khao Lak! - The staff, facilities, and comfort of the Haven are all unmatched! My wife and I came to the Haven for our honeymoon trip to Thailand. We were so excited to be upgraded to a villa room, which we truly appreciate! The staff were incredibly helpful with anything that we asked, the complimentary breakfast was an amazing way to start each day, and the amenities at the resort were all outstanding. The easy access to taxis was incredibly helpful for us to get into the town when we wanted to. We highly recommend the Haven and hope to come back someday!
- Jusy71 (10/5): Great stay - What a place and hotel fantastic staff can’t do enough for you on your stay . Location brilliant you pretty much have a beach to ourselves. Just a wow great place
- mikewhite2608 (10/5): Stunning - Just checked out after 7 amazing days. It has been faultless from the minute we got here. The room was huge with a amazing view of the ocean. All the staff are the nicest we've ever experienced. Already looking to book again for next year
- W233OAkimw (10/5): Expected better - It was a very relaxing resort. Down side is not enough staff for the pool
Side bar & indoor bar near lobby only had one staff member to serve a full resort. Plus wedding guests having to wait to be served, was disappointing.
- mariop667 (10/5): Great stay - Fabulous resort, with just the right amount of tranquil, but accessible for days out. Had a much needed rest, and spent the perfect time with my husband, sister and brother in law
- MatthewTraveller23 (2/5): 5-Star Views, 2-Star Everything Else - We’re here at The Haven Khao Lak right now, and while the setting itself is beautiful, the experience so far isn’t matching what we expected from a 5-star resort. The room feels quite tired and dated — we’ve noticed humidity issues, marks on the walls, and areas that really need refreshing. It just doesn’t have that clean, crisp feel you’d expect when you walk into a higher-end hotel room.
The pool, which is meant to be the star of the resort, is also a bit underwhelming. The water hasn’t looked consistently clear, and there are patches of algae on the sides that you can actually see. At one point, they were doing maintenance while people were in the pool, which isn’t exactly reassuring when you’re trying to relax.
Food-wise, breakfast has been okay, but the evening meals are pretty repetitive and not particularly inspiring. We’ve already found ourselves preferring to go out to eat, which isn’t the easiest choice because the hotel really is in the middle of nowhere. There’s not much around within walking distance, and the shuttle options are limited.
The staff are mostly friendly, but even here the service isn’t always polished. A couple of interactions have felt abrupt or unhelpful, especially when we’ve tried to raise concerns. Overall, it’s a lovely setting and a quiet place to unwind, but from what we’re seeing during our stay, it’s not delivering a true 5-star experience.
- J5442MSiang (10/5): Great place to stay - Beautiful location, great staff, longest swimming pool we’ve ever experienced. Oh yes, can’t forget the coconut jam at breakfast
- ellien2021 (10/5): Excellent facilities, friendly staff - a relaxing Haven. - A beautiful stay with wonderful staff. The hotel has everything you need with helpful, friendly staff who look after you very, very well. We felt very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great each morning with plenty of options right up until finishing time, and the pool bar staff made us excellent drinks. We are sad to be leaving but would highly recommend the Haven for anybody looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay in Khao Lak.
- SEDStef (10/5): The Haven - Anniversary Stay - Excellent stay, we stayed here for our 10 Year Anniversary and the hotel made a reall effort to make it so special. Wonderful location and very friendly staff.
- normanbO3164JS (10/5): Heavenly holiday at the Haven - Lovwd the Haven.
Beautiful venue.
The pools, the rooms and the dining/ drinking venues were superb.
The staff were incredibly helpful.
Massages were divine.
You must stay at the Haven.
- 349rechellee (10/5): We got to go see the elephants feed them and bath them as well that was a really good experience. - We really enjoy our stayed. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. The quality of service was excellent. The only thing I didn’t like was too many cockroaches 🪳 but the ambience was beautiful. We got to do a few activities and we got 2 complimentary massage and unlimited food and drinks.
