En tur rundt om søen , med vilde sneaber og kæmpe vandfald var simpelthen fantastisk. Der lugtede af svovl og man kunne ikke få mad uden at bestille på forhånd. Personalets engelsk er heller ikke det bedste.

- Ievsdoma (8/5): Hotel with incredible food and natural onsen in a beautiful place - The hotel has very unusual rooms. They are very big, with one half made in Western style with tall tables and beds, and the other part in Japanese style with tatami and futons. You can sleep however you want. The room was very quiet, which was expected given that the hotel is located in a remote place. Onsen with natural water is a highlight. Make sure to book dinner in advance. Both because there isn't really any option around anyway, and also because the dinner is incredible and is a real spectacle. I have to be blunt - the hotel is old and is in desperate need of renovation. Some repairs were being made on the exterior, but really it needs a complete overhaul.

There is nothing that I would personally complain about. But do note that the facility is a bit older on the inside, and there was some repainting on the exterior during our visit.

Також трансфер до готелю виручив нас та полегшив дорогу від вокзалу до готелю. З радістю повернулися б знову. Сам готель вже не новий. Але якщо для вас це не важливо, то в ньому дуже приємно перебувати. Також поблизу немає магазинів та ресторанів, тому треба враховувати, якщо хочеш купити продукти. Біля озера є столова, здається вона працююча.

Chambres vieilles mais grandes et confortables. Assez vieux, le soir il n'y a rien à manger dans les alentours (à part l'hôtel qui propose 3 menu mais assez cher..) ! Prévoyez de faire des courses ou acheter des plats préparés (qui sont très bons) dans les magasins des villages avant (micro-ondes à disposition) Sans voiture, en prenant le bus, il est pas trop loin du lac et des cascades mais à presque 1h30 de Nikko et des temples

We enjoyed the onsen very much and the staff were nice and helpful, despite the language gap. The hotel is not exactly prepared for foreign visitors (only a few signs are translated into English), which is more or less fine in today's Google Translate age. Just a heads up for foreigners. :-)

Amenities are generously provided, and the thermos in the room was pre-boiled and filled with hot water - which was a nice touch at night. There aren't many electrical outlets in the room, but there is also an extension cable provided. A free shuttle bus departs at 9.30am to the train station, and is much faster than taking the local bus. The room does feel a little aged, but for a 3-star hotel, there are much worse. It would have been nice if some of the installations - e.g. the clothing line in the bathroom - were still functional however. The surrounding area is also really dark, so if arriving by public transport (about 5-10min walk to the nearest bus stop), best done before sunset. There is also a 150 yen hot spring tax, which for some reason, isn't included in the room price.

In combinatie met de mooie natuur en leuke wandelroutes was dit hotel voor ons zeer de moeite waard.

Restaurante cierra muy temprano por la noche. Llegamos al hotel sobre las 20h y ya no era posible cenar. Una faena, restaurante más cercano a 30'.

- SHIOKAWA (9/5): お値段も良心的でトータル的には満足でした - 家族風呂を利用させてもらいましたが大浴場より清潔でとても良かったです。宿泊客が多い時は絶対に利用すべきです。お食事は料理の味付けが自分好みで薄味だったこととボリュームはちょうど良かった。天ぷらは配膳される際に温かいままサーブしてくれたこと嬉しかったです。朝食はお味噌汁をテーブルのガスコンロで温めて熱々のお味噌汁とても美味しくいただきました。 お部屋の老朽化はちょっと残念でした。壁の繋ぎ目が見えて張り替えが必要だと思う。夕食の和牛は脂身が多く、自分の年代(50歳代)にはくどく感じられた。他の料理が美味しいかったので残念。 大浴場はとても混みあっていて排水が詰まっていたのか大量の水が溜まっていて清潔感に欠けていた。

- Yoshihisa (6/5): - 食事が大変美味しく、とても良かったです。ロビーの雰囲気も素敵でした。少し残念に思ったのは、浴室の脱衣所が狭くて洗面シンクも一つしかない上に、脱衣所がとても暑くて、入浴後にゆっくりできなかったことです。

- eri (5/5): - 施設は昭和ですが、清掃は行き届いてました。 その分、夕食は良かったです。 スタッフさんは、気さくでよかったです。 ロケーション、お風呂が凄く熱く 露天風呂のみ入りました。ただ、みなさんも同じ意見で、着いてスグの風呂は、 のんびりできませんでした。 猛暑日で、避暑地でも暑い日でした。 値段設定が、もっと安くていいのでは？

- Holly (6/5): Very pleasant but perhaps not best suited for solo travellers - Staff were very pleasant, the room was comfortable and the location was beautiful and peaceful. I did not order breakfast or dinner, which was expensive and a bit fancy. Unfortunately, there are no other options for dining in the area. Overall, overpriced (with a 'hidden onsen tax'), and rooms are too large for what you need if you're a solo traveller. Would have liked details on how to arrange private onsen access.
- Stephan (6/5): Good place to stay for a night, if you’d want to enjoy an onsen in Yumoto, but don’t expect the pictures. - It’s in a great location and has a nice onsen. Breakfast was great. Booking.com states the restaurant is open, while it is, you need to reserve dinner in advance. When I arrived at 5pm, the only dinner I could get was from the hotel convenience store and its microwave. I would have been great to know this in advance, as there were no other restaurants around. Also, everything in the hotel is quite dated, the pictures provided seem quite old in comparison.
