• Giuseppe (4/5): The room was unacceptable sanitarily speaking. - Friendly staff pubic hairs in bathroom corners, shower and on countertop and a stink bug in there to boot. Old style thick comforter put underneath modern sheet blanket which did not make sense.
• emily (8/5): Not sure we will be returning… - Clean and inviting lobby, the bar serves some of the best espresso martinis in the valley. a woman with a clipboard came knocking on our door at 1030am when checkout was at 12pm. she apparently had a room key and opened our door trying to enter while my boyfriend and i were still sleeping. luckily i had the deadbolt on so she couldn’t. once i confronted her she just asked if we had a 12pm checkout, exchanged weird looks and left. not really sure what that was about but i don’t think we will be returning because of that.

My tv in the room did not work but the front desk was nice enough to change my room. My room was clean but the bathroom had been lightly cleaned. The towels were changed but the toilet and sink had been forgotten.

• Kimberly (2/5): the staff seems to reward bad behavior - location found potato wedges around the queen bed from previous guests, phone chargers did not work near the beds, they put is next to a floor with loud guests sreaming running through the halls and staff said they might not be quiet. we asked to move to another room and did not even at check out ask how was our stay. we stayed 2 nights and first night was loud in hallways and staff didnt seem to care
• Rebecca (10/5): Love the rooms. - Beds were exceptionally comfortable. Bathroom was spotless and the walk in shower design was very roomy and easy to use. I really appreciate how the fridge and microwave was tucked away in its own cabinet. I had trouble getting my gaming console connected to the TV. Partner and I spent 10 minutes figuring out that the HDMI cable needs to be connected to the black box against the wall and not the TV itself. Once we figured that out, everything operated very smoothly.

• PICKYPELICAN (8/5): Good Morning Wilkes-Barre! From "The Seasoned Traveler" - Staying in the area of Wilkes-Barre can be a real challenge, the hotels in the area are hit hard by Interstate Rte. 81 by tired travelers seeking respite and coming off the road after a long day of travel. So tourism isn't exactly the mainstay of business for these hotels that do exist here. The Marriott Courtyard property actually became our 2nd hotel by default, our first choice hotel was dirty and had spots all over the bed pillows and "the mattress" and throughout the whole hotel. We could not get a room at TMC until the next day/night. I was horrified by the hotel our first night back in W-B, I am a native, born and raised here now a Floridian where tourism is taken very seriously and is our #1 industry. I called TMC and spoke to a young man named "Michael" I told him my plight and my mission to get out of our hotel into TMC that night. He listened patiently and sympathetically to me after multiple phone calls assisted us in getting a room for the remainder of our stay. (TMC was booked solid our first night). Thank you to this gentleman who worked the reception desk of the hotel Friday evening! He and the next day/evening desk clerk encouraged us to see the room prior to check in, we did and confirmed our stay. This hotel is accommodating, courteous, and yes, clean. It is simply appointed and comfortable, all one needs and hopes for after a weary day of travel. The rooms are comfortable with spacious bathrooms and large wall mount adjustable TV's. Our first night TMC ended up being the night of time changeover, so we gained an hour on our trip, well now that's a plus! GOOD MORNING WILKES-BARRE: So, I awoke after a true good night's sleep and quickly got dressed to go down to the lobby as I usually do to grab a coffee for my husband and I when we travel. Not quite fully awakened or knowing the actual time, I walked into the lobby/restaurant area to discover, it was still only partially lightened. There was only one young woman in the whole lobby she was arranging seating at the restaurant tables. She looked over at me as I approached the snack/coffee bar and said "I'm not open yet". I said "oh, what time do you open?" She replied "7:00 A.M.". I asked "What time is it?" She replied" 6:48 A.M." I responded by saying well " what time will the coffee be ready?" Thinking I would go back to my room and come back down. She replied "The coffee is made." I responded " Oh, No problem, I'll wait so I walked over the the lounge area in the lobby and sat quietly waiting patiently to get my first cup of coffee. The coffee snack bar was in my full view. I watched for the next 12-15 minutes as this young lady and another young lady talked about whatever, put the TV on at the snack bar, fidgeted about, put the lights on, I think you get my drift here. At whatever time it was (I did not put my watch on or have my phone with me) the young lady looked at me and said "I'm open now". Are you kidding me, this was a SNL skit. So going by the call to order, I arose from my chair, walked over to the snack counter and proceeded to give her my Starbucks coffee order. I left the lobby after paying $12.00+ for three coffees. Whatever happened to "Good Morning, when the client guest walks into the lobby? Did this young woman own this restaurant, since she referred to it as hers'? Did she have any inkling of an idea that I was "the sole purpose of her being in that hotel/restaurant and that her greeting and customer relations or should I say, the lack thereof, was the sole income generator to the hotels and her livelihood? Wow, Marriott Bonvoy what? Listen, everyone has a bad day, or hates their job but this was a bit of a stretch for that conduct as a hall pass. Sorry. I've worked my whole life, and I've done my share of undesirable duties if you will in the course and scope of my job, but I never displaced it onto another person. My motto into my growing old age is this, if you've been given the gift of another day on this earth, make it a good, one, do you very best. Raising my children, I always told them, whatever you do in your life and your careers, whatever it is, do it well. Give it your best. I would say this woman needs to be behind the scenes in this hotel and not out with the hotel guests. Don't let this be a deal breaker for you not to stay at this hotel, it is fine and probably one of the only maintained hotel properties in the area. Just beware when you tip toe into the lobby, don't look for the customary "Good Morning" and wait inline for your coffee before 7:00+ A.M. The Seasoned Traveler

• sylvrunr (4/5): Bedding Catastrophe - This Marriott needs to step up their game inside the rooms. Despite not requesting a handicapped room, we got one. Roll in showers are dangerous and messy for regular people -- it's just hard to keep your feet dry after one person has showered, and it is slippery. We did not enjoy that. The bedding was weird. The room came with 2 doubles, and the bedding was much heavier on one of the beds. Why would there be a heavy quilt in the middle of July? All the sheets and blankets are super wrapped tight and tucked under the mattress -- which requires too much time and effort to unwrap and figure out (ok, I didn't have a problem, but the men in our family couldn't figure out where to slip in).. Seriously, make this less complicated! AND Please do not use blankets under the top sheet if they are visibly stained. I should not see brown spot, ever. Sorry, I can not recommend this hotel, and will stay elsewhere when we return to the area.

• M (1/5): 15m after chk.in i chk’d.0ut do to smells, and substandard cleaning. - Location Staff It’s between management companies and it shows. Odd smells, less than clean room, damaged room decor.
• Montane' (5/5): Ok - I liked that the shower was spacious, the water stayed hot and the bathroom was clean. I didn’t like that at first glance the bed sheets appeared to be clean but once pulled back they were dirty and had long strands of hair in the sheets. The toilet took forever for the water to fill back up in the tank so after each use my husband and I would have to go back in the bathroom to flush once the water stopped running, we were on the third floor so whomever was above our room walked extremely hard all throughout the night and morning so it was a little disruptive of our rest for 2 nights. (Nothing you can really do about heavy walkers) the room itself was tidy but do yourself a favor and double check the sheets. We did tell house keeping and the young lady came in and changed out the bedding.

• aross801 (10/5): Best CY in WB Area - This Courtyard is perfect and the second I’ve been here. I attended King’s College up here and always come up to Wilkes Barre to reconnect with friends and catch up, as well as checking out the scene as it brings back memories from the undergrad years. Since we couldn’t stay at our friends house, we decided to book here. It was a short visit but the staff was amazing from arrival to departure. Chrissy was the most helpful when I called the day before to see the availability before booking and was able to get a room quickly. Then was a pleasure to meet prior to checkout time. Such a smooth process. The rooms were comfortable and spacious with all we needed for just one night. We will be sure to return the next time we need to stay here again. I am in the hospitality industry myself and enjoy being the guest vs the employee watching how staff members take care of their guests! Keep up the great work all!

• karendN9097FZ (6/5): Great costumer service - We stayed there last weekend. Jessica at the front desk was amazing. She was so friendly and welcoming. We had several small issues that Jessica immediately took care of personally. The only negatives were the sofa bed is just a mat like in a dorm room. It was very hard and uncomfortable. I have several food allergies so I travel with my own meals. The second day the refrigerator stop working causing my food to spoil.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Difference between the last 2 Courtyards. - I usually live staying at Courtyard properties. The one in Bethlehem PA was fantastic. This one was nice too but the one in Bethlehem was more friendly in the sense that the staff would make you a cup of tea anytime and not charge you. I miss the continental breakfast in all the courtyards. This one I stayed in the last 2 days was very clean. They were cordial and courteous but the one in Bethlehem was warm and inviting.

The room was spacious and well appointed. Bed was quite comfortable. Very nice and clean bathroom with a regular shower. I am glad I stayed here.

• Steven (10/5): as always, the best choice for a hotel in Wilkes Barre - a home from home for me when working in WIlkes Barre, there are plenty of hotels in the local vacinity to choose from but none compare to the Courtyard. Staff, service and modern rooms and decor streaming service on room TV's is a massive plus when staying for more than a day or two. plenty of shops, resturants etc right on the doorstep. there has never been a negative staying at the Courtyard.

• nedra (10/5): - Had a great vacation here check in an out was a breeze the room was nice an clean the only thing I didn’t like was we didn’t have a option to have our room cleaned or trash taken out daily other then that I enjoyed my stay an would definitely stay again
