Eric (3/5): Totally overpriced - The hotel is decent enough but extraordinarily expensive (more than New York for a similar hotel). Aside from the cost of everything, what most spoiled my stay is that I requested an Ocean View, which proved extremely noisy, with parties going on late into the night and blasting music. Other hotels are coming up in Georgetown, which offer much better value for money.
Rhonda (5/5): I would not stay at this property for the price I paid. Loud music every day theirs no quiet time. - Breakfast was ok, nothing special. We payed premium for ocean view, but on the boardwalk theirs loud music and partying every day of the week. We got no sleep for our entire 7 day trip.
Trail15720038821 (4/5): Hard to d sad keep - Everything with this Marriott is of the expected standard, if you stayed in a Marriott before. Unfortunately, the low score is not the fault of the hotel but it is problem requiring fixing. At the back of the hotel is public land next to the sea wall. By day it attracts walkers, people chilling or fishing. From evening onwards, it attracts people with vehicles, souped up with large sounds systems, playing very loud music, with a heavy base, sometimes into the early hours. Last two nights I had very little sleep. It is not the fault of the Marriott but I am a paying guest who had very little sleep. Perhaps if you opt for a city view, it is quieter.

Server Amanda was awesome - friendly, efficient and welcoming. There was never any decaf coffee, so my mornings felt incomplete. Also there was no none diary cream so had to settle for almond milk ( not remotely the same).

Veryl (8/5): - Reception staff and outdoor bartenders very lovely. Good and central location, if noise bothers you - request a room on the opposite side to the sea. Nice hot tub and pool which are open till 11pm. Restaurant is pricey but other options within walking distance. Avoid the hotel taxi service if possible, extortionate for no good reason - local taxi services will offer much better. Overall, lovely hotel and definitely the nicest we saw in GT, but do not expect 5 star service for the 5 star price Poor attitude from some of the restaurant staff, remedied by others but did detract from the high level service expected for the price tag. Mixed attitudes from housekeepers one lady in particular was quite rude, a request to return later for the service met with an eye roll. Again, most others, lovely.
Fleece71 (6/5): Looking tired and avoid ocean view rooms as loud music into the early hours - I have not been to Guyana since 2019 and the pace of change has been rapid. This is starting to translate into new hotels and more of them which will be able to add competition as it feels that the Marriott has taken its dominance for granted. The hotel now looks dated both internally and externally but continues to charge high rates. Without doubt, the hotel needs an update. I had an Ocean View and needed earplugs as the music from the area behind the hotel was incredibly loud and went on to around 0400 on occasions.Not something the hotel can do much about. There is plenty still to enjoy such as the gym and pool and most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Sandy on reception is certainly an excellent ambassador for the hotel and Marriott brand. Not as good as it used to be and needs investment.

The staff are all up to Marriott standards and I'd mention a lady called Ruth who provides flawless service. The restaurant, bars and pool are also of a high standard. I'll be back!

ToniT1079 (10/5): Excellent Marriott with Guyana Flavor - The Marriott offers the Frye flavor of Marriott with great friendly staff at front desk, bar, restaurant, pool, and considered lounge. Not many great employees to name The accessible entry offers an accessible open lounge with two main large comfortable seating areas. The restaurant offers excellent extensive buffet for breakfast and theme night buffets for dinner. Breakfast buffet in includes eggs, excellent crisp, bacon, breads, pastries, smoothies made to order teas coffees, fruits, yogurt, and more we enjoyed a theme night for Gaysnese food night. Restaurants seating is indoor accessible tables and outdoor near the pool with access accessible tables Rose included queen beds with comforters and fluffy pillows, large screen, TV in room, coffee and tea service walk-in shower chargers near the bed, working desk and an excellent ocean view Our only concern was on a Saturday night in the area between Marriott property in the beach. A group was playing extremely loud music that could be heard in our rooms till about 3 AM.

Booking you need to reimburse me .. you will loose lost of customers .. $549 per night which i can get government rates for 299 including breakfast

Rashala (10/5): - I stayed at the Marriott Guyana for 4 nights. After traveling for 14 hours from Los Angeles, I was grateful for the quick and easy check in. The room was spacious and clean. Marriott typically delivers in all aspects and this location is no exception. The true value of this particular hotel lies in its staff though. I can’t sing their praises enough - the gentleman taxi driver, Anthony at the front desk and Alicia C & Amanda Wong in dining provided top tier customer service. Those are just a few of the names I remember of an entire staff of some of the friendliest and most accommodating people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. This is the most comfortable I’ve ever been abroad. I’m already making arrangements to come back.

najihahi2025 (10/5): Archer the great waiter - Our dinner at the Guyana Marriott was amazing, and a big part of that was thanks to our waiter, Archer. He was so warm and welcoming, making us feel completely at ease. He checked in on us at just the right times, gave great recommendations. Service like his is rare and made the whole experience stand out. Archer is fantastic at what he does.
Melissa (8/5): - Several weaknesses prevent an excellent review. Staff understanding of processes and procedures related to the restaurant are inconsistent. Sometimes they insist that you sign for your free breakfast and sometimes they don’t. This is complicated by the fact that the waiters often disappeared after initial service. Additionally, room doors were difficult to open and often took several tries. Hotel staff explained the locks were new, but forced guests to deal with the problem.
fabbas (8/5): Comfortable stay with good service - Very comfy bed and clean room. Sea view is muddy but still interesting. Staff were super friendly. Breakfast and restaurant (especially curries) were good. Close to town center. A bit far from the airport, but new road should help. Wish the room had full carpeting for a cozier feel.

The staff once again have outdone themselves with their service. Breakfast in the lounge was on point, compliments to Chef Akeeba for a delicious breakfast. Sheniah and Janella were fantastic as always with their extremely attentive and personable service. And per usual dinner was absolutely amazing. Chef Allison cooked up a fabulous dinner while Shalini poured a delicious rum punch she created herself. Daniella on the spot as always checked in on us at our table countless times. Georgetown Marriott thank you again for your hospitality. Special thanks to Ruth, Amanda Rushonda, Shaniah, Sandy and the rest of the front desk that I missed for making my stay comfortable.

Ashley (6/5): - For this to be considered one of the best hotels in Georgetown there’s a few things that lacked. The water didn’t get too hot just warm enough to handle your business. Upon entering the room I noticed the curtains were mangled and shredded idk what that was about. Perhaps change out damage property. The group around bathroom sink needed redoing. The ice machine on my floor flooded the small room off the side of the corridor it was attached to. The “cooler” in the room smelled like it was breaking down and food from prior storage still lingered. The food there was amazing drinks were ok. Pool stayed cleaned and checked frequently for any debris.

gallifrey0810 (2/5): Too bad we can't give zero stars - The Guyana Marriott positions itself as a 5-star hotel and charges a fortune, but delivers nothing. For the price they offer, you could stay at much better hotels in South America for much cheaper. Let's start with the so-called room upgrade. At the same time, the sea view is nice, but playing music until late is not. The hotel needs to invest in better windows to dampen the music if they insist on calling this an upgrade. I went to Terre Mare for dinner and ordered the Guyanese chicken curry. What I got was overcooked chicken breast with something meant to be curry poured over and served with undercooked rice. You're meant to be a Guyanese establishment. How do you get this simple dish wrong? On another visit, I opted for the executive lounge. Other than the unlimited cold drinks, this service was terrible. The first night, I went to dinner at 8, only to be told to hurry up. I was told at the front desk that it is open until 10 so I have no idea why wait staff are telling patrons to hurry up 2 hours before closing. The next night, I figured I would go at opening, only to find scraps and no sign of the staff replacing the food. If this is supposed to be a five-star establishment, food and drink should be readily available and not at the discretion of clearly lazy staff members who don't want to be there. They offer a brunch for $70, which is ridiculous considering what is on offer can be had at most brunch restaurants for half the price. At $70, crab and lobster should be on the menu, not pull and peel shrimp and other dishes not native to Guyana. Right now, the hotel situation in Guyana is limited, which appears to account for why the Marriott thinks it can be poor in its customer service. Hopefully, as new hotels come online in Guyana, the Marriott either improves or goes away because of its clear lack of respect for patrons and guests.

E2871MYjohnc (8/5): Great Staff and superb experience! - My Name is John Chase, I'm a flight attendant who stays in the Marriot hotel pretty often, I just wanna say, The hotel staff are really good, Especially Kaie who works Bar 10, she was very polite, efficient, and a great person to have a conversation with while having drinks at the bar! and Shonnett working the restaurant, nice, very polite, always greeting me with a warm smile when she sees me, very accommodating. not only the ones I mentioned by name, which I hope I spelled correctly, but the whole staff from the workers checking us in at the front desk to the housekeeping to the workers in the lounge who always greets us by name, how they always remember everybody's name is still a mystery to me, but its a grat touch! they all take such good care of me and my flight crew when we stay there! kudos to your HR department for doing a great job hiring such nice workers at the Marriott Georgetown Guyana.

If I had to choose just one this trip it would be Sean , the bartender from the Lobby Bar. His mixology expertise and his service were exceptional! My colleagues and I had a great time!!!
SteveRainville99 (8/5): Nice property, but extremely overpriced! - This is a beautiful property with really well manicured grounds. The room is nice, but not too big, and the walls are very thin. We could clearly hear people next door having normal conversations. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the mini fridge is a nice plus to have. The front desk staff was very friendly, especially Anthony, who was very professional and accommodating. The breakfast had to be the highlight of our stay, as it had so many options to choose from, including cooked to order eggs. Staff was also very attentive. This is a basic Marriott hotel, and the only large American chain with the Ramada down the street. We enjoyed our one night here, but at over $700/night, this is definitely not worth that much. I understand that there isn't much competition down here, but this is more than the Marriott in Times Square!

My husband and I have been regulars since before we got married, making it our go-to spot for Friday night Margaritas and burgers. It would be a disservice not to acknowledge the incredible team—Odetta, Alex, and the amazing bartender Sean—who consistently go above and beyond to make every visit special.

Ronald (5/5): Not worth the money - The reception staff The Restaurant, on 3 occasion I I and my wife was unable to get glasses of wine we ordered unless we took the more expensive one, it's beggars belief since there was a wine shop dead opposite the restaurant, also no kettle in room not everyone likes espresso (unless you are George Clooney).

The manager - I believe Shalini is her name - is the best of them all. She and her team - including Shenia and Mahmudul were excellent in taking care of things I needed and giving me great tips about Guayana. This was my first trip to Guyana. In the beginning, it was a rocky experience but when I was able to go to the executive lounge and met a wonder team of employees, my stay has been much more enjoyable . The executive lounge team consists of Janella, Shenia, Sowaynee, Shalini, Ashana, Francisca, Cynthia, Nadera and Chefs Rayshelle and Allison. They make my stay a wonderful experience. They are very warm and friendly and always willing to assist with my requests where possible. It is a joy to see them each time I return because I am there for work. Friendly faces make the stay more relaxing. The food is wonderful and good variety as well. The room attendants and front desk are also very friendly and helpful. Thanks to the team for wonderful experiences.

I understand that there are very few competitors but at least keep the rooms up to the standard that you are charging please.

Sherida (2/5): Disappointing 4star hotel - As a Marriott member, I was extremely disappointed in the room. I paid $500 a night and it was below standard. I had my 4yr old son with me. I rented a room at Marriott for convenience and comfortability for my toddler. Netflix did not work ..pop up message saying internet was not available. The pool was dirty. The restaurant staff was AWFUL. Beyond slow and did not come over when i called her off twice. I had to raise my voice and ask if i can order food for my child..and her response was ..where did you get your drinks? I said i was staying at the hotel and these drinks are from the lobby bar. She was rude and hesitated to take my order for my son. I asked again if she can put in the order and I won't order anything. I just wanted my child to eat. She reluctantly took the order and it came 25min later. In addition when checking out ..I asked if $500 was a standard rate or did they raise it due to Christmas season. Reception said it's standard rate however local residents get the room for $299 a night. My mom who paid for the room and had her ID to prove she was a local resident of Guyana didn't get the $299 rate. To sum it up...don't waste your time staying here.....The service was terrible, the food was terrible, the pool was awful, the drinks were dreadful. the staff in the restaurant were slow and downright rude. No one came to our room to fix the tv - Netflix. I called 3times and no one came. Worst Marriott experience ever.
