- Eve (10/5): A very nice Ryokan with professional service and food. - We very much enjoyed this Ryokan. They offered a shuttle from the train station, which is helpful as they are in Tomonoura . Easier than taking the bus if you are travelling by train! As soon as we arrived the helpfulness and professionalism of the staff was evident. This impressed us through out our stay. The door staff, the front desk staff and the dining staff - all exemplary. Our room was lovely with interesting wall finishings and a view over the water. The public areas were also attractive. Our meals were also overlooking the water and just delicious. We found having these wonderful traditional meals to be a highlight of our trip to Japan. While weather did not fully cooperate during our stay we still had a lovely hike on the adjacent island easily accessible by a short boat ride ( which runs continuously throughout the day). They also had a nice onsen with outdoor area. Perhaps they could make information about the shuttle ( times and pick up location) available with the confirmation. This information probably would have been easier to access if we spoke Japanese!
- Katrine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nadia (10/5): Beautiful relaxing stay in such a quaint fishing town. Incredible food, service and accomodation. Would reccomend - Incredible stay at Keishokan Sazanamitei. Beautiful views and really enjoyed staying in Tomonoura and exploring the port town and nearby islands. Would highly reccomend getting half board option - the food was so amazing, so fresh and felt like we really got a real taste of the area. Also loved the hot springs.
- Graça (8/5): Great traditional Ryokan experience - Very traditional ryōkan, amazing restaurant, amazing room, comfortable futons, welcoming staff. Beautiful views and close to an old fishing village, with very welcoming locals. The breakfast was traditional Japanese, so if you don’t like that, keep it in mind. Also, the staff spoke little to no english, making it difficult to communicate.
- Martin (10/5): Wonderful value in Tomonoura! - We liked everything! From the great online help signing up for the free shuttle bus from Fukuyama station, to the wonderful dinner and breakfast, this was a real treat! Quiet, comfortable room with a toilet. Private dining room for meals with very attentive staff. This hotel is a serious compliment to Tomonoura. Nothing, seriously.
- K (8/5): Very good - Nice & friendly staff, especially one of the female staff member who spoke fluent English. She explained everything clearly & patiently.
Beautiful sea view
Shuttle service from Fukuyama station made access very easy and were well looked after on arrival.
Quiet place and within walking distance there is small town facing sea ports with old houses. The room is a bit old and not as beautiful as shown in the photos
As all rooms with Private Bath and Toilet were fully booked. there was no bathroom, including a shower room, in the room I stayed in. I had to go to the public bath located on the rooftop.
- Michael (9/5): A delightful, comfortable stay in a relaxed friendly atmosphere - Large sea facing tatami room was most attractive. And it had great views over the nearby islands.
Mattresses very comfy.
The outdoor onsen , again with sea views was a delight.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The half board breakfast and dinner were extensive (Japanese style), varied and high quality, well presented in our own private dining room. Nothing
- Akin (9/5): Superb - The baths were not as beautiful as some others we have seen in Japan.
- Neo (9/5): Exceptional service and great food. very enjoyable stay. - very friendly and helpful staff. very prompt, and always ahead of your needs. nil
- Kaylen (9/5): Superb -
- Brandon (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely ryokan with highly attentive staff, public baths, and a very impressive multi-course dinner.
