Guest Reviews
- Jacqui (10/5): - Lovely location Nothing
- Jennifer (10/5): It was perfect for being situated near the National trust property we were visiting. - Everything was great just wished the cooked breakfast was hotter, but I know this can be difficult.
- Christine (10/5): Stayed here twice and both times have been excellent. - The food was very good and the location is excellent.
- Christine (9/5): Great value for money - Great value for money. Lots to choose from for breakfast and onsite cafe had a good range of food and drinks. Well equipped gym available to guests. Walkable into Marlow so didn't need to worry about finding parking.
- Mathew (8/5): We had a nice stay. Rooms nice and clean. Staff friendly - Nice and clean. Good friendly staff Bit of a walk outside of Marlow.
- Nick (10/5): -

- Andrew (10/5): - It is near the River Thames where we hired a boat, the Sula, for the day. Noisy cafe at times
- Gwyn (10/5): Wonderful service at breakfast - Everything
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional value and perfect stay at the NSC - Location was perfect for a short walk to our festival in Higginson Park. Room was ideal, warm, comfortable and all the facilities you need. Use of a very good gym is a real bonus, as was the excellent breakfast, big shout out to the staff, especially Josh on check in and the night staff who went over and above for us Nothing
- barry (9/5): Good for the price . - Location Bed base looked badly damaged . Looked badly damaged where vacuum cleaner or other objects had hit it ?
- Lawrence (9/5): Excellent staff, comfort and a hearty breakfast at this well-positioned National Sports Centre. - The Staff at Bisham Abbey are a delight! My wife has mobility issues and the staff went to trouble to ensure we had the right room with a walk in shower and only a short walk to the dining area. We requested an additional quilt for support and it arrived within minutes. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The cleaning staff were also very pleasant and we appreciated the hot chocolate sachets and biscuits they left in the room. The breakfast was restaurant quality and the chef is to be congratulated on the excellent scrambled egg. The sausages were of high quality and there was a good selection of fresh fruit. The only omission was museli.
The grounds of Bisham are pleasant to walk and there is access to the Thames and the remains of the Abbey itself. Parking is free and a space can usually be found.
Congratulations to the entire hospitality team at Bisham - you do an excellent job! Wi-Fi was variable in the room.
- Lorraine (8/5): Excellent accommodations for the sports person - comfortable room, excellent gym facilities except sauna and steam room are very basic. Excellent breakfast There was a weird smell in the corridors and disappointing there was no swimming pool with all the other sports facilities
- Becky (9/5): -
- Lauren (9/5): Great location , no parking cost and breakfast included, room great size & clean and beds where so c - Well equipped breakfast and did the job nicely
- Bradley (10/5): Perfect for an overnight stay and would stay there again - Clean and tidy. Great location There was nothing not to like

- judy (9/5): - Great value location Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): Great location and electric car charging a real bonus - Stayed overnight before flying from Heathrow. Ideal location and great price Nothing
- Deborah (8/5): -
- Rosanna (8/5): Enjoyable stay - good location with good scenery. - Breakfast was excellent. Self-service style. The chef had done a very grand job indeed! In one of the rooms I booked, the toilet flushing system was not working properly. Also the water tap was leaking (not dripping) constantly had water leaking through the joint between the tap and the ceramic area.
- lAURA (7/5): - Great location Bed wasn’t very comfy
- Emma (10/5): perfect for what i needed - all good
- Charity (8/5): -
- Patricia (9/5): A Gem - A beautiful setting. Lovely airy clean room. A very generous buffet breakfast. Very helpful staff. Ample parking. Couldn't fault it.
- FRANCISCO (8/5): Excelent stay to visit west london and Oxford - Easy parking, good beds, and very good breakfast Bathrooms a little outdated.
- Pattie (9/5): Cycle tour one might stay - It was in an ideal situation for our cycle tour round the Chiltern's. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast excellent. Nothing to dislike . Just the young lady on reception when we arrived told us there was nowhere to safely put our bikes overnight . This was despite my husband ringing up and asking before we booked. We put them in our rooms as there was plenty of room.
- Birgit (8/5): - parking site, good breakfast, spacious room and bath Soft bed, very early checkout time, light in the bathroom was switched automatically, I'd have preferred a normal switch, stays on quite a while
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Great place to stay - Clean and comfortable rooms with fresh bed linen everyday which we don’t expect these days! Wonderful facilities set in a lovely environment. Nothing
- Harry (8/5): Hotel net sportfaciliteiten. - Ruime hotelkamer. Goed ontbijt. Bekleding bed was beschadigd. Slechts 1 stoel op de kamer. Gehorig.
- Ben (9/5): - Gym facilities
Breakfast N/a
- Kate (9/5): -
- Darren (6/5): Adequate - Clean and efficient Bed base was badly marked and gave the room a very scruffy appearance - there were holes in the pillowcases which were old and worn
- Rowan (7/5): Friendly staff and a clean room, if a little dated - We booked to attend a wedding at the abbey, so in terms of location the hotel was great. Lovely staff, good breakfast and easy check in process. I do feel like the hotel itself was a bit run down, some of the facilities were a bit scratched and dated looking. I feel like the hotel was quite expensive for the actual accomodation. I do know that its a sports facility, but as it is also used for weddings a clear getting ready area in the rooms would be very helpful
- Christopher (9/5): -
- Duncan (8/5): -
- Alicia (4/5): Sadly, a disappointment - The location and decoration. The staff at the reception and breakfast are very nice. We didn't get a chance to try the gym, but it seems awesome. Breakfast is fine. Sadly, our visit was a disappointment. Our room was clearly not ready for guests, and seemed like they got fully booked and thought "we'll get these guys here and figure it out". The shower didn't work, needed a piece replacement. Clearly something that was already known. As was a broken mattress with a deep dip due to broken springs. The shower door didn't close either, but since we couldn't shower probably not an issue in that room for now. We got a room change the following day and a 30% refund, which we appreciate, but being allocated in a room that's clearly not suitable for guests spoiled our weekend quite a lot. Also, please, clean your kettles, they are covered in a thick layer of "lime?". The manager was a bit dismissive when we brought the issues to her. She offered the gym showers to us when we couldn't use ours, but said nothing about the refund. When I showed her the video of the broken mattress she didn't seem to care much, but this is obviously my impression, she maybe was just busy.
- Colette (10/5): -
- Jurgita (10/5): Excellent value stay with beautiful surroundings - Great breakfast, comfy bed, powerful shower, pretty surroundings. And Netflix! Just a 10 minute drive from High Wycombe Leisure centre, thus convenient when attending swim events there. Nothing
- Ingo (10/5): -
- Jamie (9/5): Premiere Inn standard at Half the price. - Great parking, nice room, decent shower, nice staff, lovely breakfast and amazing price! Wish there was early cooked breakfast at 7am
- Hayley (8/5): Hotel had lovely surroundings to relax in. - Breakfast buffet had a good varied selection of hot & cold food. Happy, friendly staff.
- patricia (10/5): Excellent - would definitely recommend - The rooms an the location Nothing
- David (8/5): -
- Luke (8/5): I'd stay here again and recommend it. - Lots of easy parking. EV charging point. Great location. Friendly staff. Good value. Very basic rooms.
- Simon (10/5): Perfect - The location was stunning and easy to reach Marlow or Hurley fantastic runs and walks. Easy access to London via Maidenhead or High Wycombe Nothing it was fabulous
- Giancarlo (9/5): Great place to stay - Excellent breakfast A little far out of Marlow if you don't have transport; better cycle storage facilities would help.
- Lorraine (8/5): - Check in was easy, helpful and friendly, the room was much better than I expected, parking was easy and the breakfast was great. The view out the window was nice and the location is in the middle of things at the centre so only a small walk to the gym!
- Ann (9/5): Surprisingly good! - Comfy bed, nice white bed linen, fluffy white towels. Good breakfast included.
Delightful location.
Would definitely recommend this place! Kettle needs descaling as does the stainless coil shower hose and shower head. Saying that a good pressure shower.
- Ian (10/5): -

- Michael (8/5): Good - Ok Room was not warm
- andrew (9/5): Really great value property, quiet and in a good location - Great location, good value, quiet and comfortable. Nice restaurant nearby Nothing
- Sharon (7/5): Pleasant - Spacious clean and quiet set in beautiful surroundings Breakfast was only just warm needed to be hotter and a shame they don’t do evening meals
- William (10/5): Excellent. - Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Facilities fantastic. Breakfast great. Beds bit low.
- Patricia (9/5): Very relaxing - Breakfast Exellent.
- Minty (10/5): Super value for money in a great spot - would stay again! - Loads of parking, good sized rooms, extremely friendly staff, lovely breakfast and a comfy bed!! Nothing

- 7530130ab510720a120f68741ff8b95f (7/5): Comfortable, clean and safe but some small changes would make a positive difference. - The location is great - quiet, close to the river, nice gardens, lots of easy parking, short walk into Marlow.
The room was a good size with comfortable beds, a choice of pillows, desk space, one chair and all the things you need for a short stay.
The free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable.
The breakfast choices were varied, accommodated a vegan guest and the food was tasty, well cooked and well presented. Breakfast staff were helpful and friendly and 2/3 reception staff were knowledgeable and professional. At check-in the receptionist gave us incorrect information for example about the check out time and didn't tell us that you need to pay to hire a towel and need a padlock for a locker etc. if you want to use the gym / steam room / sauna. We arrived on a Sunday for 2 nights and were told the canteen was for sports people only so we couldn't buy food from there but there was a pub just down the road where we could go for dinner. However, that pub does not do food on a Sunday night and does not open on a Monday.
There was a large green light outside the bathroom which could not be dimmed or covered and the bathroom light comes on automatically when you open the door so this made the room bright at night.

- Rosalind (8/5): Our 3rd stay here. Such a lovely location and v good value for money - Location, free car parking, friendly staff, spacious room, v good value for money Shower
- Holly (8/5): - Great location and the facilities you were able to use were amazing.
- simon (9/5): Nice place. Quiet, well run, decent facilities - Small rooms but they are very clean. The rooms have baths but these have been disabled (no plugs and only the hot tap works) in favour of the showers. Free wifi, breakfast is good with decent choice, and you get free use of the gym. It's about two miles outside Marlow so you have a bit of a walk, or drive, if you want to head into town. Watch the bollards on the bridge over the Thames (they are very tight). Nice place. Always a pleasant stay. The restaurant could do with more choice.
- Karen (10/5): -
- Michael shimhue (8/5): -
- Donna (9/5): value for money - easy and convienient all facilities closed early
- Andrew (9/5): I’d recommend for an unusual stay, good value, quiet whilst we were there. - Set in beautiful grounds, very well maintained, comfortable beds with good cotton sheets, very good breakfast, friendly helpful staff. It is ‘no frills’ but I’m happy with that
- O'Donnell (10/5): Very enjoyable three nights with excellent staff - We have stayed here before and it’s a sports centre with a hotel for sporting personalities.
The rooms are very good and the staff and amenities first class Nothing
- Louise (9/5): Great value stay - 4th stay- excellent value for money as always
- Sari (10/5): -
- Ross (9/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): Fantastic place to stay and a great price too ! - Just a really great set
up, nice big clean rooms. All lovely will be back Nothing all good
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great location for Marlow and fab breakfast - Great location for Marlow. Breakfast was included and was lovely. Friendly staff and use of gym was a bonus.
- alison (6/5): Cheap as chips and great locale but very basic... - Great breakfast, lovely staff, excellent location and only five mins walk to a great pub with fabulous food (The Bull). Look, it's cheap as chips (we paid £67) so one can't really complain but don't expect this to be like a hotel, even a ravel Lodge type experience. It's more like a university halls room. There's no bar as it's a sports centre, just a very basic cafe. The worst thing was how cold the room was. There was one electric radiator which was almost impossible to operate, and I'm not sure the rooms are double glazed... No extra blankets available so I slept under a coat.
- Sue (10/5): A great, comfortable base from which to explore the locality. A fabulous breakfast is included. - The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped as was the whole place. The grounds are pristine and you can hear birdsong in the morning but with perfect quiet at night. The Centre has a lovely positive vibe with all the sportspeople pursuing their various passions. We could see great games of tennis going on just outside our room! Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, including hot options. The location is fabulous - close to Marlow and the other towns/villages of Buckinghamshire as well as several National Trust properties. We visited Hughenden and Cliveden as well as the Dashford Mausoleum - fascinating and atmospheric place. Marlow is charming. We could also have used some sports facilities but had no time though we will definitely visit again and make sure we do so. A great find. Nothing. I perhaps would have liked some written information about using the sports facilities.
