• Tiffani (10/5): - Very peaceful environment with no pressure to do anything or be anywhere. Local shops were a drive away. The owners were so friendly and helpful when we showed up from our disaster travels. They helped us get food and to finally get our rental car…a must for travel. So thankful to them.

However beds need replacing (very uncomfortable in room 5) and bathrooms need some repair ie difficult to get water working in shower and light over sink not working. Tub also unavailable for use. That being said, enjoyed our visit. Breakfast was superb!

The place is a bit remote and accessible via tiny back roads. Watch out that map apps may have to go off the main road many km earlier than necessary. Walk around the property was very pleasant. Would recommend.

We could not get hot water in the afternoon, and had lukewarm showers in the morning. WiFi and phone coverage were terrible.

It was great to help yourself from the bar (honesty box), read old newspapers from 50 years ago, and play snooker and other games. Full of character and really friendly host. Would highly recommend and even though it's a little off the beaten track it's only 30 mins to the centre of Cork.
• Traci (6/5): Dissapointed - We were very excited to stay at The Cannaway house as the photos and write up were beautiful. I love staying at BnBs over hotels usually, but we were left a bit disappointed on this trip with BnBs for several reasons. 1. We chose Hotels.com as we can choose to pay ahead or oay at the properrty. We chose to oay at the property with my husbands "Vacation " credit card. With busy lives I did the bookings and plannings and he did the paying..... however the BnB. charged the credit card on file 36 hrs before check in. I even sent a message stating we would be using a different credit card. The host was pleasant enough and explained she couldn't switch it. It was the second time this happened to us with hotels.com while on this trip, however the other BnB was able to cancel and charge the correct card. 2. No Air Conditioner, it was so humid! and the windows would inky open and inch. 3. The carpet was not vacuumed and the bathroom shower had black mold all on the outside. I almost wanted to leave! But it was already late. We did have a nice breakfast. No one to check us out

• Cathy (8/5): - Loved the property, the hosts and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. When we checked in, we were told that the spa tub in the room was not operational. I didn't mind as it was too large, and I prefer a quick shower anyway. The problem happened when I got in the shower and got scalded by the hot water. There was no cold water to temper it with, so we wound up washing off in the sink.

• michael (10/5): - Grounds very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed looking out my bedroom window at the horses. The room was bigger than I expected. The breakfast gave you choices and was very good.
• Jacques (10/5): - This place is isolated, charming and very quiet. The room and bathroom are huge with high ceilings. The bed is a bit small for two and the TV minuscule. The breakfast however is a huge plus.
• Malva (8/5): - Charming home out in the country. The hosts were very welcoming and gracious despite our last-minute reservation and arrival later than their usual check-ins. We were given a triple room (double twin) which included a bathroom with enormous jetted tub and separate huge jetted shower. We used only the usual shower, but it sure looked luxurious. Delicious hot breakfast. Note that this property is not near anything else. You need a vehicle and will drive through lovely winding roads. You need to eat dinner elsewhere. We had a nice meal in Macroom at Granville’s Bar & Grill.

• Minhong (10/5): - Very nice B&B in the country. Nice host and awesome breakfast. Some of the hardwares like toilets, faucet, mattress could use some upgrades but I also understand that the host may not want to overdo it to keep the vibe. Anyhow, recommended!

• George (10/5): Amazing Irish Country Home - We had a wonderful time here. The house is beautiful and our room was spacious. I was hot and the hosts were kind enough to find a fan. Jackie, our host, was so friendly and charming. We Loved the bar (which operates on an honor system) and is so charming. We met the horses and their three dogs. Breakfast was wonderful. I Highly recommend staying here!!
• Prindle (8/5): - This is a beautiful restored country property, with magnificent views and easy access to the town of Macroom. The breakfast was delicious, but coffee and tea service was available in the upstairs hallway as well as in each room. Additionally, there is an informal family area with a pool table, bar, and games. Improvements would include better beds and better lighting in the bathroom. Great value, all in all.

• Joe (10/5): Trip to Southern Ireland - This was a surprisingly nice B&B outside Cork. A little out of the way but great signage made it easy to locate. Welcoming staff, beautiful room and great breakfast! The bed was not the most comfortable, but we slept well. The surrounding area was gorgeous!

Surrounding landscape is beautiful plus it’s a great base-location for seeing the rest of Cork. Rooms were spacious and clean with good facilities overall. Breakfast was very good - Full Irish was spot-on and the pancakes were a scrummy!
• Verified traveler (10/5): WOW what a grand old house - Jackie the owner & host was very inviting. The house has been beautifully restored & very comfortable. A little awkward to find with the GPS, we would highly recommend a stay here.
• Fiona (4/5): Very disappointing. - Unfortunately we were very disappointed, this hotel was rated exceptional, which was why we booked it, but find it hard to see why. It is very remote, although not a problem for us it does mean you have to drive 20 mins to find anything to eat. Our welcome and check in was fine and the house and gardens are lovely. Our room, number 6, was on the ground floor. The small double bed has to be the noisiest, creakiest, most uncomfortable bed we have ever tried to sleep in. The shower requires maintenance (or replacing) and with one door completely jammed made it quite awkward to get in and out of. Still with high hopes of the promised breakfast, again very disappointed - solid hard boiled eggs, a tasteless full Irish and a dirty table cloth hastened our exit!

The only trouble we had was that it was a little difficult to find on our GPS. Despite this I would still highly recommend the Cannaway house!
