• jim (6/5): check in breaks all lthe rules - the rats in front they should remove the wooden barrier in front and replace it with concrete also no mention it is next door to homeles shelter the check in info is totaly excessive against al lthe privacity rules for canada even the ss asked for less info and no garrente it will be removed and where it ended up took over a hour just to put in the in fo they wanted why is not hotels.com not protecting peoples rights to there info .

• S M (10/5): Welcome Retreat - Lovely welcome and staight forward check in after a long flight. All areas of the hostel were incredibly clean with the private double bedroom and associated washrooms etc spotless! Thoughtfully, ear plugs were in the bedroom for us to use (room facing the busy street) but didnt need them.

Cost great and staff really nice. Kitchen clean and free breakfast. Rooms ok although bit of repairs needed. I would say overall nice place to stay.

• John (4/5): - This hostel is in a very cool area that gives off 3rd world market vibes, with tons of great food stalls and cafes. The room itself was nice enough, but it was far too hot and the A/C didn't seem to work, so it was difficult to get a comfortable sleep.

• Ria (8/5): - First time being in a hostel after my original accommodation plans didn’t work out. I was worried about it being near a homeless shelter, but as someone who lives in Vancouver I wasn’t too phased by them. Glad to see measures such as requiring a card for after hours access. I felt safe, and the staff and other guests were friendly and respectful. There’s complimentary breakfast which is great, and lots of options within walking distance for dining out, or you can get groceries and cook your meals in the fully equipped kitchen if that’s more your thing. It’s close to major public transit routes which makes it easy to get from one area to another.

• Jenessa (8/5): - Friendly staff and clean hostel overall. Conveniently located in Kensington Market with access to numerous shops and restaurants. Free breakfast with bagels, fruit, and cereal included. Generally a slight walk most to transit stops requiring 1-2 connections to central tourist spots. The bunk beds are quite screechy and wobbly, the walls quite thin - so you won’t have the best sleep, definitely bring earplugs. Located next to a community housing/support centre - there are a lot of houseless folks nearby but they kept to themselves, don’t stay here if you have any problems with that. The hostel has many scan card access points for security.
• Nancy (10/5): Awesome place - First time staying at a hostel. Did not know what to expect , the Hostel is downtown Toronto . The staff was very friendly and informative. I arrived at 11 a.m and check-in is at 3 pm . The front desk reception gave me a temporary entrance key card to enjoy amenities while i waited for check-in. The lounge is very clean, airy, well decorated. Whole thru the hostel showed how well taken care . With world Travellers Walking around we were al respectful. The bedroom is very clean and fresh. 8 people to a room. The kitchen is very up to date and airy. I give this Hostel 100%. Exciting thing is where it is located. Right in downtown Food Market . Will for sure book it again. Happy travels everyone

• Hélène (10/5): Cool place on Toronto - Really cool place to stay un Toronto. Near many attractions, groceries, restaurants. Breakfast incluse. You can use refrigerator, cooking place, pan, everything you need to cool if you wish to. Really affordable.

• Rasolonjatovo (8/5): - pros : Directions to the room are well indicated. Staff are nice and accommodating. I appreciate they let me leave mu stuff earlier because there was no one in my assigned bed. (that's what they said but read the cons). it's clean Having air conditioning is life saving luggage room cons : Someone slept in my assigned bed. I just took another one but I liked it less than my assigned bed (in term of location). Someone got up at 5 am and made noise because he is preparing his stuff to leave but it's normal on a dormitory so I don't take it as a problem. I couldn't find where to take plates in the kitchen. Anyway the cluttery and plates were all next to the washer. I would suggest a system where we can dry the dishes and put it at place. Because we use plates and cluttery that are still wet cause all dishes pile up and keep those dowstaires wet, vicious circle. I enjoyed my stay fir the price !
• Samuel (10/5): - This hostel is in Kensington Market area, and it's a vibrant, multicultural, youthful area. Lot's of good food places, and interesting sort of touristy and fun stores. The hostel itself is an economical place to stay, with a kitchen you can cook your own food in, and common areas. It was a lively place to stay, with lots of friendly people. I really enjoyed the staff here and also many people from other countries coming and going. I was really taken with my one week stay in Toronto. I found everyone I met to be so helpful and outgoing and kind. People seem good at coexisting. If you are a clean freak, a city is a city with all it's variety, but I didn't see a lot of littering or garbage strewn. There's people living homelessly yet I didn't experience a lot of aggression. I feel grateful to have been in the mix. and thankful to the staff in particular.

• Rebecca (8/5): - Good location for downtown Toronto. Private room was clean, shared showers could have been cleaner but overall okay! Free breakfast was a good, they also had oat milk for coffee/cereal which was appreciated! Hairdryers were available from reception. The hostel is opposite a homeless shelter so lots of people hanging around all day/night, we didn’t necessarily feel unsafe though due to this but did take extra care especially at night. The street itself was very lively during the day and there were bars etc. busy at night.

• Dannielle (8/5): - First time properly staying at a hostel and the bed we’re comfortable, showers and bathrooms clean. A lot of options for breakfast although it can get really busy in the kitchen during this time. I found it overwhelming on the first morning so grabbed fruit to walk but the 2nd morning I sat and had a cream cheese bagel and an apple. I had breakfast after 9.30 when it was quieter. The plugs by the bed work but not the usb ports. Realistically a strong 7 out of 10. Scored lower as there are a lot of homeless people along this road and outside the hostel to the side which can be off putting unfortunately but the staff were so helpful and friendly. I was also worried about not being able to check in after 2am as they hadn’t responded to an email or the chat I sent. When I got there, there was 2 receptionist working and check in was smooth.
• Leah (10/5): - Very lovely stay at the hostel, we had no trouble with checking in and the front staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable (good ac!). The bathrooms and shower are good and we rarely ran into people (the bathrooms more than the shower), both were clean and had the basics whenever we needed. They gave me and my partner each a key card which was very appreciated. The breakfast also was very nice, many options. Thank you so much for the stay.

• Alexandra (8/5): - I loved the space! It’s not only well located, but also very solo-traveller-friendly because they have great security. The shared bathroom didn’t even feel like a shared one — I never bumped into anyone. There’s no elevator, but I didn’t mind! Breakfast was okay, enough for the price of the stay, and they even keep your luggage for free after you check out! The common room is also very well equipped with books, tables, and games. My only issue was a group of homeless or addicted people right outside. They never did anything besides yelling sometimes (not at me, though), but it was still a bit scary when I came back late. This is a downside for me because it wasn’t mentioned — a little heads-up would have been appreciated! That said, their presence is understandable since it’s a very young and active neighborhood, with lots of restaurants and Kensington Market just around the corner. The first night, there was a party at one of the nearby places — the music was super loud and people were screaming. It wasn’t a problem for me because I’m a heavy sleeper, but it’s something to keep in mind if you're sensitive to noise. Again, I think it comes with the territory given the super convenient location. Overall, a great place to stay if you want to explore the core of the city using public transportation — or even just walking!

• Cindy (6/5): Ok for a night or two - Decent hostel for 1 or 2 nights if on budget. This hostel is located in a very undesirable neighborhood, adjacent to a homeless shelter and another one a couple blocks away. I did not feel safe walking near the hostel and did not stay out when it got dark. The hostel itself is renovated, it offers breakfast, which the majority of hotels/hostels do not. The bathrooms are very small and cramped and are unpleasant when people do their business since there is no window. The building itself is secure, but rooms are of course very basic with a locker. Dorm beds are uncomfortable and the springs can be felt, pillows very flat, and bunk very shaky and noisy.

• Kara (6/5): - The overall stay was okay its just the area where the hotel is located is worrying because it is near to a homeless shelter and tends to be very noisy at night. Towels were too small and soaks up easily. Toiletries were not complete and the lockers were too small to fit a carry-on or a back pack bag then you end up putting your things on the floor. Bed and bed linens were clean as well as the toilet. They could have started serving breakfast as early as 6 AM for guests who needs to up early. Staff was really nice and accomodating.

• Sarah-Lisa (2/5): Worse service ever encountered - It was the worst stay I could ever imagine. As I finalized 24h on the road from Europe to Toronto and had a business call to attend I kindly asked them if we could to the parents and the check in later since I was so late already in my meeting. They asked me for my passport and I gave it to them and also my card which I thought they wanted an other id but turns out they wanted the credit card. They just mentioned the card wasn’t passing and it most be a fake card and they won’t let me check in. I than stated impossible it’s not working since I’ve done many countries with the same card without ever having an issue. They got offended since I was answering to them and acted as if I had been the worse customer. They refused me saying I would cause issue since I couldn’t properly understand what they wanted from me and handed me an all ready paper with the hostels around to go take a night. As if all this is a recurrent activity of theirs to refuse people and tell them to go see elsewhere. Worse customer service, attitude I’ve seen in my life.

• Tilly (10/5): - It was such good value for money. There was a streetcar and bus stop right outside the hostel and was only a 10-15min walk to the metro. There was an abundance of affordable food options within a 5min walk, as well as a 24 hour convenience store. The staff were really friendly. Showers weren't always very clean, but it was never bad enough to bother us. The street was also quite loud at night, but it never bothered me and earplugs were provided.

• Ramisa (10/5): - I arrived early because my flight was in the morning, and the staff were super kind to let me check in early as soon as my bed was ready. The hostel is very clean, the staff are nice and friendly, they have a good system. My only suggestion would be to keep paper towels to dry hands in the bathrooms. Otherwise everything was great. The showers are clean, the bathrooms are probably cleaned more than once a day because I never found them dirty. They have towels for guests that you can pick up from the reception, and then there's a laundry basket to drop them off. The breakfast selection is also decent—coffee, oatmilk, bagels, bread, etc. They have a nice kitchen if you want to cook and lockers to store your own items. The location is very convenient, and there's a streetcar stop only a few minutes away. It was my first time in Toronto and I didn't have any trouble getting around. It's just that sometimes the street feels a little scary at night.

• Jensen (10/5): - This stay was awesome! Staff were so friendly and accommodating and the vibe was great. Rooms were super clean and beds were comfy, I loved that they had a breakfast option as well. The hostel was VERY warm however, the room I stayed in was 24 degrees, so if that's your vibe, awesome, but I was definitely sweating while I was there. The location is amazing, super close to vintage shopping and the best tacos I've ever had in my life. I will absolutely be staying here again!
• Madison-Lee (10/5): - I loved staying here! Such a positive space and so clean! The only downside is it is considered a bit of a sketchy area but we had no problems during our stay!

• Essien (10/5): - It was a great moment for me. The opportunity to stay in a hostel accommodation but I had my privacy totally, made my own meals and also had a great breakfast time with nice staff around. Walkable distance to the UofT and the CN Tower. This apartment is so good and I recommend it to anyone on budget.

• Verified traveler (8/5): For short stay - It was okay. Initially I had a shared room but another guest was extremely noisy when snoring so I asked to be changed to a private room and staff helped me. Perhaps they are not the nicer people you usually encounter working on hostal, they were not rude but diligent. The negative side is the reduced amount of washrooms per floor which is one for each gender (1 urinal + 1 toilet). Plus, I had my room beside the washroom and every time people flushed the toilet or turned on the dryer, it would trespass the wall

• Anna Amelia Chong (8/5): - Might be a bit unsafe for people alone late at night. I (single female traveller) was harassed by a few people sitting outside/ on the street but not threatened or anything. Otherwise, really cool and central location and nice and clean, good operation systems in place and I would stay there again.

• Bryanne (10/5): - Great area to stay in there's bikes you can rent all over and even walking to the CN tower is like 30 minutues, staff was very nice.and the area was a little busy which in my eyes is a good thing there's some bars and restaurants nearby that were great.
