- Miller (7/5): Great facility! - Great location; very clean facility; very friendly check-in. Breakfast wasn’t available until 7:00am….just a little late for me. Not sure if the train can be heard everywhere in town…..but could be heard; no hairblower was a surprise….i thought this was pretty much a standard now.
- Anne Melanie (4/5): Don't stay in Portage. - Bed was comfortable. The owners have tried to spruce rooms up with paint, new carpet, and some bathroom renos. This is an old cinderblock motel, with some renos. Unfortunately, the walls and ceiling are not soundproof. The couple next door were up until after 3 a.m. talking, arguing, playing music. Then smoking weed outside near our door in the early morning. The upstairs people were walking around for part of the night. Needless to say we did not get sleep. Got up early and left. Portage is a run-down town. No decent restaurants to eat in either. Should have gone straight to Winnipeg the night before. Sad to say this is my first negative review.

Stove kitchen area extremely dirty as it looked like it's been touched in weeks.. The worker there at the front desk was ed her pajamas or pjs and a male worker entered the room without knocking or asking, i would jot recommended this molet to anyone

The chair was broken No heat on when we checked in There was no one at the front desk For 2 am till 430 am loud noise and lots of people partying. No one answered the phone at the front desk. - 1hker1 (10/5): can't go wrong - Best deal this side of the Rockies! overnight stay after a long drive - and it was perfect. Super friendly owners, provided a huge bag of ice at no cost. Beautifully updated, spotless, comfy beds. We had a room on the 2nd floor, facing the road...I was hesitant at first (being noise sensitive) but traffic pretty much dies down at night. Other guests were quiet as well - either working or travelers, no party animals. Would stay again

Obviously the guest review score is highly questionable. I should have spent an extra $60 in Winnipeg on that night. Terrible WiFi connection. Very itchy from sheets.
