It had just reopened under a new brand. Every member of staff we met were very pleasant and would do anything to help you have the best stay. Javier at breakfast was a real joy, nothing was too much for him or his team. He is someone you can see takes his job very seriously and wants to please the guests. We actually looked forward to breakfast because of him and his team. I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel had a large gym in a new building in the garden looking out on the sea. You can walk straight out onto the beach. The range of food at the restaurant in the evening wasn't huge, but plenty of nice restaurants in the area for variety.

- Claudine (7/5): Nett aber nicht mehr - Das ganze Personal gibt sich grosse Mühe. Die Anlage und die Lage sind einmalig. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und geräumig Wenn man etwas nachsichtig ist, kann man das Hotel als gut bewerten. Da es erst vor ca. 1 Woche unter neuer Leitung eröffnet hat, herrscht noch die Findungsphase. Die Rollen und Kompetenzen müssen noch geklärt werden. Das ganze Personal gibt sich jedoch grosse Mühe. Die Anlage und die Lage sind einmalig. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und geräumig. Über falsch oder nicht montierte Steckdosen kann man hinwegsehen. Dennoch ist es sicher kein 5 Sterne Hotel. Es gibt zu viele Mängel. Kein Gepäckservice bei der Abreise, zu langsamer Service am Pool und auch kein Handpapier auf der Pool-Toilette. Es verdient 4 Sterne. Was jedoch äusserst frech ist, sind die à la carte Preise beim Lunch und beim Dinner ( notabene auch nur die Lunchkarte im Angebot). Und, das Essen war nicht einmal herausragend, was den Preis vielleicht noch gerechtfertigt hätte.

- Mumgaard (8/5): Hotel could not be better, restaurant let it down a little. - The location was stunning and our room was absolutely amazing. The spa had a snow room which I had never encountered before and was fun and the staff at the spa were super helpful. The grounds of the hotel were also beautiful and when we wanted the hire bikes to explore the coastal path, the reception staff could not have been more helpful. Fabulous! The service at the restaurant was a tale of two halves. At times it was exactly as you would expect from a 5 star hotel and at times it was not. On one occasion after waiting 20 minutes for a drink, we gave up and walked to the bar to get it ourselves. On another, the waiter referred to me (and I’m in my 50s) as “darling” - I put this down to a language difference, but it was still unwelcome. However, when I ordered a salad with a dressing and queried where it was on arrival, I did not expect the waiter to argue with me about whether the salad should have the dressing that was clearly on the menu. All little things but they added up to a slightly uncomfortable whole.

Staff are over stretched and it reflects on their service But they all very nice and pleasant Tbe pool, although perfect temperature, was a bit untidy, tiles missing Which made it look a bit shabby If the maintenance crew spent a day replacing them and the ones around the water feature, it would make a huge difference.
- Bruno (9/5): Very relaxing 5 days in a wonderful environment. - Location is fantastic. The 'Lido' restaurant is wonderful, dining at the sea. Everything was perfect! Service in the restuarant was somethimes chaotic due to lack of the English language. If a traveler can speak Dutch, French, German and Englisch you would expect that people understand each other.

- Carolyn (2/5): - I hate to leave this review as I gave the hotel staff every opportunity to make things right … but when I told them that a hotel staff member had entered my room at 4AM startling me and ruining any further sleep, that a water aerobics class was going on for an hour in the quiet spa area AND that driving directions on Expedia had been grossly incorrect, they did nothing. Very disappointing. Systems are broken which should ensure a peaceful stay at a luxury resort. Very overpriced for the experience.
- Claire (9/5): Excellent we will be back - Staff, location and room was lovely and quiet. Most Spanish hotels do not have a make up or hair dressing table in the room. I like the magnifying mirror but bathroom was too dark to do make up in. Also we need a full length mirror in the dressing area.
- Colinmckenzie (10/5): A fabulous stay in a wonderful hotel with brilliant staff. Highly recommended. - The breakfast overlooking the sea is simply magical and the staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast in the lower bar starts at 09:30 but 08:30 in the hotel itself. The staff went out of their way to make my stay fantastic and even picked up a daily English newspaper for me from a petrol station. The gardens and ambiance of Las Dunas are fabulous. Truthfully the Spa at this hotel is really amazing but the cost of even the most basic treatment seemed expensive (eg: Euros 130 for a 50 min facial), compared to elsewhere. But maybe this is because I do not normally use a Spa and am not up to date with prices. However a 50 min facial at the Danesfield House in Marlow (super expensive hotel) is £90.
- Zee (10/5): Surprise stay - The look of the hotel is beautiful. The staff were warm, accommodating and welcoming. The place looked and sounded very peaceful. Entering the room I had a welcome note and macaroons waiting for me :) Very lovely gesture. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable overlooking the sea. The toilet was huge and had all amenities available. The robes and towels were clean and soft. The bed was huge and the pillows were fluffy. It was a very comfortable mattress so I had a good night sleep. The pool was a good size. Not too big and not too small. It wasn't crowded which is very tranquil. The food I ordered was delicious. Not really a big issue but the sound of the fountain outside my room was loud during the night so I had to close the balcony door and couldn't enjoy the natural breeze but definitely not a deal breaker :) All else was perfect

Set in beautiful grounds by the beach, great spa and pool facilities and the staff were very professional and friendly. The hotel could do with a bit of modernising.

- Lara (6/5): - The rooms are lovely & the setting is ideal, but that’s about it. The 1 restaurant (not 3) serves the same thing all day (same as a the room service menu) & is horrendously slow & over priced. The breakfast is slow & a very poor choice of options. The spa is fine if you like sauna/steam room but the pool/jacuzzi area is currently closed (they tried to deny it existed until I showed them the brochure from the room). For a mostly empty hotel the staff aren’t exactly jumping to help. Don’t bother trying to go into the indoor part of the restaurant - it’s empty & no staff go in there. It could be brilliant, but instead it’s a 3 star hotel in a 5* shell.

- Jamie (1/5): Disastrous - Nothing Misleading Description AVOID Disgraceful. I booked two nights spa weekend at this property, costing over £2000, Only to find out on arrival that there is no spa ! All the spa services advertised on booking.com, their website, and the in room entertainment TV are NOT available. We Expressed our concerns to reception on arrival, which were ignored. Made a further complaint upon returning home, and got a delayed negative response that suggested to leave a review of our experience which I’m doing. We were two of just four people at this establishment. Personally I would avoid it in the future like the plague. There is no atmosphere. Very little staff. 1 restaurant was closed and the one that was open had a limited menu and no customers. The whole experience is quite disastrous don’t waste your money people look elsewhere.

Looks like a hotel going bankrupt and managing to make some money in it's terminal stage. No room service after 10 pm. Spa always closed. I can't start to describe the nightmare. I had to cancel my stay in the middle of the trip even if i paid 2 nights that i didn't stay and of course they didn't accept to pay back. I felt better paying and leaving than staying longer. Avoid at all costs

Nice location on the seafront with direct access to the coastal walking path. very nice spa. very quiet and lacking any atmosphere (we appreciate it is out of season) no heated outdoor swimming pool no bar open in the evenings

Location is right on the beach and on the cycle track of Estepona. Great for walks and a selection of restaurants and beautiful views. Allergy friendly hotel too for anyone gluten free or dairy intolerant - they have various options. Room was fabulous with beautiful views.
