Guest Reviews
- desertswim (2/5): Bad Advice on Abrupt Closing - This place closed as of today! I received a cancellation notice for my 8/19 stay with no explanation or anything, just a pdf of the booking cancellation. When I called to find out what was going on, the person LIED and said the hotel was accidently overbooked! Then he said he could book another hotel for me and ran down all the low budget hotel and then came up with the Bismarck Hotel and Convention Center and was told it was a nice place. I was at work, so I said yeas to it at an overblown price. Then after work, I checked it out on TripAdvisor, just to see its location and I find out it is a dump! I don't think I can get my money back for that night, but I booked a room myself for $80 dollars less at a place with GOOD reviews. I'm very disappointed in Best Western for treating my so shabbily, when I have been a loyal customer for many years.
- Annette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Burridge (8/5): Visit to state capitol. - Breakfast had good options. The location was good. Room was comfortable. Parking was good. No suggestions.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (9/5): Good. - Very good breakfast. However, seating was limited. Location of motel not good; traffic & limited parking. Busy commercial area.
Rooms good. United parking & too many commercial places.
- Amy (4/5): Disappointing - Breakfast Rude front desk staff
- Anonymous (5/5): Wonderful staff, not so wonderful breakfast. - The food was sub-par. The reason I say this is, the first morning there was no gluten free cereal or bread. The round oat cereal actually had wheat additive. There was no granola. Granola WAS offered the next day; however, when I went to use the lactose alternative milk product, there were dates of 5/17/25 and 6/23/6 written on the top with blavck permanent marker. (The printed use by date was in January of 2026). when I asked staff about the written dates, they claimed that was when the milk was delivered to the hotel. Unfortunately, when the current day was 7/7/25, it made me wonder if they were just making up the excuse. Or, if it was the date they first opened the carton. Regardless, the milk is only good for 7-10 days when opened. We had to go elsewhere for breakfast. The carpet in our room was spotted and also grubby upon entry.
- Roseanne (7/5): Clean comfortable place to stay with free breakfast. - Comfortable, quiet, free breakfast, The coffee
- Carrie (10/5): We enjoyed our night there after a long day. - We could actually watch tv unlike our previous hotel. And the bed was very comfortable again like our previous hotel where the bed was like laying on a wooden bench. Very thing was great.
- Gerald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bender (9/5): Superb -
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Room was very clean. Wish they had fruit at the breakfast.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christian (8/5): Quiet, clean, served my needs. - Toilet was not working properly. I think it was partially blocked. Bowl flushed slowly. Location.
- ItchyFeetBTS (8/5): Good stay - This seems to be a relatively new property. Check-in was easy and the desk clerk relatively friendly. The room was comfortable and clean and had decent lighting. The bathroom was fine, though it needs a bit more in the way of towel bars/hooks. The sink was tiny and set way back on the counter, which was awkward and got water all over. We appreciated the extra towels provided without asking for them. Breakfast was fine – ok choices kept stocked and the area was kept clean. There are numerous restaurants nearby as well as all of the usual suburban stores. It’s not far off the interstate and about 10 minutes to downtown Bismarck, so a nice location. There were no USB ports in the room, which was odd for a fairly new property. All in all a good stay and we’d return if we were in the area.

- Tory (10/5): Another Great stay!!! - Hotel is always clean, quite and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast is awesome and you can't beat the price. The location is perfect for eating out and shopping. We look forward to our next visit. Only thing I didn't like was that the two bedroom suite wasn't available for another night.
- Jim (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): Very good - pillows on bed suck
- Michael (7/5): Good - Not much Food
- Kelley (8/5): Would consider booking again - Our room was really nice. The staff was friendly and breakfast was good. The elevator needed cleaning and the evening check in personnel wasn’t helpful about dinner support. Also the Electrical vehicle plug in did not work.
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Feist (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (10/5): - Nice quiet near where we were going.
- Jim (9/5): Superb -
- Janet (3/5): Uncomfortable and icky - The bed was so hard and uncomfortable. We slept terribly for 2 nights. The chair smelled of urine.
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Blakely (9/5): Best room on a 5 day trip - Great room. Nicely decorated. Staff shortage. Only one person on site. Transient event.
- Lorna (10/5): - Very happy with everything
- Melissa (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): Exceptional - the convenience of getting a room close to the elevator for my medical needs. nothing really. it was a good stay
- Blakely (8/5): Good room in Bismark - Best room yet on a 1500 mile trip. BW only had one evening staff person which resulted in a long multi person wait for checkin.
- Mr. Kim W. (8/5): - Nothing exceptional one way or another. We checked in late and had to leave early.
- Rhea (10/5): It was great - Breakfast was good
- Ashly (10/5): This is the only place I stay when in town. It is perfect for our family. - Clean environment and spacious rooms.
- Mohammad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rick (10/5): Great value would definitely stay there again - Great location to Mount Rushmore, wind Cave national Park, the badlands, and the minuteman 3 center. The price was excellent, place had everything we could ask for for a hotel. It was clean. And the staff went out of their way to make Easter morning a little more special.
- brian (8/5): - Very clean road into and parking are ok at best , bed was very uncomfortable
- Kelly (10/5): - Nice property
- Mary Ann (10/5): - The whole place is wonderful. The staff, the cleanliness, close to restaurants and shopping!
The only think is the road leading to it really needs fixing which the city was working on. There is another way in if you just go to the second turn!
Will definitely stay again!
- Bryan (10/5): One night stay - It's been great. The lady at check in was super friendly, the beds (and pillows!!!) were comfy and everything was clean.
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb -
- Brooke (10/5): - Clean and well situated to all your amenities!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Rooms clean and comfortable. Our only complaint is that the walls were thinner than normal. We could hear the people in the room next door word for word, and I don't think they were yelling/talking loud. We could even hear their coughs.
- Kristi (4/5): - Front desk staff upon checking in she was very short and rude. Did not acknowledge anyone when they entered asked if I had stayed before, I stated yes wanted my id than told me to sign. She than put my keys on the counter and said you can go did not even tell me what room number I was in or anything.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Burdell (10/5): - Like hotel. Location. Breakfast good.
- Catherine (10/5): - Clean
- Donita (8/5): - It was a decent place to stay, close to shopping. Walls are a little thin for TV noise.
- Shannon (8/5): Very good -

- Emily (6/5): Pleasant -
- Johnson (9/5): Superb -

- Sherlyn (9/5): A good place to stay. - Coffee
The staff at the hotel were great! All very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the only thing not up to par. The juice came out like water, food was cold.
- Michael (8/5): - Simple

- Jackie (10/5): Friendly staff, dog friendly and good quick breakfast - Nice, clean and quiet
- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (10/5): I will most definitely stay here again next time I’m in town. - This property was very nice clean and a comfortable place. There is nothing that I did not like about this property.
- Kenyatta (8/5): Very good -
- Tanea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): - the room was really nice, breakfast was good but did not like all the charges on my credit card for possible misc charges. There were 4 $50.00 charges. I am hoping they will not go beyond pending or I will be calling since I had no misc charges made on my room.
- Kara (8/5): - Most importantly, the front desk staff was So kind and welcoming. I got in late due to delayed flights and I was so tired, and she had the most wonderful and helpful personality that just instantly makes you feel welcome. Check-in was quick and easy. The hotel was quiet and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was a nice perk with a good variety. The only downside was cleanliness of the room. I found a mascara wand (not mine) on the carpet in the room apparently from the previous guest. I would still stay here again because of the staff, the price and the convenience.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Great stay! The staff was super friendly. Breakfast was wonderful and the rooms were very clean. Beds were super comfortable too!
- Donna (10/5): - Very happy with our stay.
- Nancy (8/5): Very good -
- Kimberly (10/5): Great hotel! - Very I expensive. Staff very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.
- Richard (10/5): - 👍
- Carly (8/5): Worth the money - Initial check in gal was very friendly. Everyone after that wasnt so much. Breakfast was good, room was mostly clean. Needed new sheets because my kids had an accident and we got those very quickly. We usually stay here when we come to Bismarck.
- ELSA (10/5): - Excellent. Nice room and comfortable beds.
- Alicia (9/5): Superb - The breakfast and staff were so great! Very clean and the staff take great care of the facility.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Very average. - It’s unfortunate that in most hotels nowadays the front desk clerk also has a TON of other responsibilities (like changing trash bags outside, being bartender, doing laundry, cleaning, etc) so I do not hold this against the staff member, rather the manager of the Best Western. When we arrived to check in to our already prepaid room (at 7pm) the one person on duty was outside removing the trash bag. I was standing at the front desk waiting for them to come check me in (with my 6 month old on my hip) and when they came inside, they told me I’d have to wait so she could put another trash bag in the bin. I am not one to be impatient in general but aren’t customers a little more pressing? It didn’t help that my baby desperately needed a diaper change a my dog was recovering from an injury and needed her meds. The actual room was fine. Clean and quiet with small deficiencies, but the big one was the heat unit that wouldn’t turn off despite our efforts and kept the room hot and dry all night blowing air that made our whole family have runny noses.
- Jenny (10/5): - I’ve thought the hotel was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows could’ve been a little bit better but overall, it was a very clean nice room.
- Stephen (10/5): - Great stay!
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Malone (7/5): Good - Beds are comfortable Was dirty and toilet didn't want to flush
- Raasch (8/5): Very good -
- Pem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elaine (6/5): - We were not able to watch the Super Bowl game - TV’s in rooms had no access to the channel.
- Craig (5/5): Passable -
