Guest Reviews
- ANDREY (8/5): - Весь пляж в водорослях и их никто не убирал.
- Prapthi (10/5): I loved that they gave coffee to the room in the morning, and a herbal tea and chocolate at night. - It’s quiet and ocean facing We had to keep showing our reservation details at the entrance of the park.
- Roshnikapadia28 (10/5): Will come again - Staff was amazing and Thai food was sooo delish and authentic
- Jozef (5/5): - Beach was dirty
- martinwF4952JE (2/5): Do not be mislead by the marketing material or the association with SLH - My wife and I recently stayed at the Mezzanine Hotel Tulum. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, however the quality of all the hotel facilities is that of a 2-star hotel.
If we had paid $150 per night, I may have been happy with the stay.
To be specific about the room. (Room 9)
• There are small wardrobes in the rooms but nowhere to put suitcases or other materials one may bring on a multi-night stay. (It may be fine for backpackers.) I wanted to put hats on top of a wardrobe (under 2m high) so I checked to see how clean it was. It was very dirty. I took the cloth I used to clean it to the front desk and they offered to move us to the ‘best room’, which was no better than the one we were in
• The water supply is like a campsite. The sinks never had hot water and the shower / bath had a limited amount of hot water, I suppose each room has a small heating tank dedicated to that room. We were told not to drink the water in the room, that was fine as drinking water is provided
• One of the sinks was cracked which lead to it leaking all over the floor if it was filled with more than a couple of cm of water.
• The ‘hot tub’ never got hot, and doesn’t seem to have a heating system
• The A/C looks like it was installed by amateurs, it did work but the internal split system was over the sliding balcony door and condensation dripped into the doorway when the system was running.
Other hotel facilities.
• When we arrived I needed to use the restroom and was directed to the restroom opposite the reception desk, it was an immediate red flag, you have to enter through an small room that is used as a dumping ground for all sorts of things and the state of the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired.
• The restaurant is well positioned with views of the beach and sea, again the staff were helpful and responsive. However, the ‘Thai’ food was not very good, we decided to give it one more try on the second night thinking that we’d ordered the wrong dish but the food was no better. On the second night it started to rain and everyone was moved inside. The inside dining area is appalling and depressing, reminiscent of a factory canteen.
I the Jaguar Park is obviously being used to try to make the hotel appear exclusive, in reality it just makes access more difficult.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Martin Williamson.
- Bryyork12 (10/5): Would recommend - Loved our stay. The vibe was amazing. Room clean. Food was great. Would definitely stay again.
- Mattia (10/5): - Posto bellissimo, molto rilassante! Consigliato
- Inspire59964550737 (10/5): My Birthday Vacation - Hotel and staff were amazing! Very clean, beautiful place. Staff was very friendly and helpful! All of the food and drinks were amazing and the beach is wonderful! Also wonderful spots in the hotel to lay out on beds in or out of the sun if preferred over the beach!
- 467aarond (10/5): Mesmerized by thr Mezzanine. - Our stay was awesome. We were fortunate to be upgraded to the penthouse room with a plunge pool. The view, the service, the food-all 10/10!
Something to consider: The hotel is in the Parque Jaguar. This means the hotel feels super safe with access checkpoints, but it is limiting in what you can bring to your room, as well as the fee the access the parque daily.
- Grace (7/5): - I liked the look of the hotels. My room was thoroughly cleaned everyday. I liked that they left a basket with brewed tea by my door every night and brewed coffee every morning. The hotel is also conveniently on the beach so it was great to have access to that. The hotel is in the Jaguar park so you are forced to eat there or at other places in the park. I
Left the park to go to a restaurant and paid 30 dollars to go ten minutes and 50 dollars coming from the restaurant. There is no Uber so the taxi drivers are going to totally rip you off. So I was kind of stuck in the jaguar park didn’t like that’s I feel they should team up with the other hotels and work on a shuttle for the people who want to go out and eat and come back for a small fee.
- Liliazmm (10/5): Where Disconnecting Feels Like Luxury - Come to Mezzanine to disconnect. It is a little piece of heaven within walking distance of the Tulum archaeological site. The oceanfront rooms are a dream. The food is exquisite, the drinks are elevated, and everything is a visual delight. There are no TVs – trust me, it’s a good thing.
- Lourdes (10/5): -
- holliem783 (10/5): Beautiful location, great service and delicious food! - We were actually staying at a nearby hotel, but ended up eating at Mezzanine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because the service and food were so good! Lovely, friendly staff, and delicious Thai food (with beach menu for lunch, and great breakfast menu!). They also let us take the food away with us to our hotel on a couple of occasions. We could not recommend this restaurant enough. Such a beautiful spot, with views overlooking the beach. Excellent cocktails as well!
- N3070KAkarim (10/5): Blissful oasis - Beautiful settings, amazing food, very serene. The room was spacious and beyond comfortable, clean and welcoming. Also not crowded at all. It’s great that we were recommended to visit their sister property a few minutes away and it was easy to rent bikes nearby.
- reek007 (10/5): ✨Glimpse of Paradise 🌴🏖️ - The Mezzanine in Tulum is truly a glimpse of paradise. 🌴 From the moment we arrived, the intimate atmosphere set the tone for a relaxing and memorable stay. The beachfront access is unbeatable—just steps away from soft sand 🏖️and stunning ocean views, perfect for sunrise walks or quiet evenings by the water. The food 🌮is absolutely delicious, with every meal feeling thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The staff was absolutely incredible! David and Orquidia ✨were amazing! The Mezzanine was a totally unforgettable experience!
- Sue Robinson (9/5): Beautiful property. Very small. Not much to do. - Food and service were wonderful. Limited access to the beach. No handrails on stairs. Pool was small with no room for lounges or chairs around it.
- King5151 (10/5): Amazing - One of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at
Beautiful staff
Amazing food
Great room
Went on multiple tours
All amazing experiences
Hotel was a dream
- Cleigh (10/5): Perfect staff, easy in and out and so friendly. Loved the welcome note in the room. - The room was perfect, service was outstanding. The food selection was amazing and the hand crafted cocktails were so well done. Your staff were always there to assist and smiling. We were fortunate to be able to park right outside the hotel which helped since my husband had a leg injury. We couldn't have asked to better service as it was above and beyond for friendliness and being helpful. Nothing!
- Freedomofliving (10/5): So much gratitude 🤍 - I want to express so much gratitude and appreciation for this amazing and lovely place! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and very well-kept.
I went on a solo trip and I wanted a small and secluded hotel to recharge and unwind. This place was exactly what I was looking for. It’s located beautifully on a cliff, which gives its own charm and seclusion. They also think of every detail and every evening they would bring chocolate and herbal tea, which was such a lovely touch.
David was an amazing host and guided me in so many ways. He recommended to also explore and visit their sister hotels. He also advised me on how to get there to ensure I don’t overspend on taxi. I really appreciate the care and attention he provided. Thank you David 🙏 It was wonderful to see your warm smile every time I stopped by front desk.
I brought back so many memories and will definitely be back to this place 🤍
- M7764PJjackg (10/5): Amazing Tulum experience at Mezzanine Hotel - Absolutely amazing experience at Mezzanine and Tulum in general. This was by far the best beach I’ve ever been to! And that’s including Hawaii. We stayed on the North side of Tulum Beach (more quiet and romantic but still has a good vibe until 10 pm). It’s in a national park which costs under $10 on the first day to get into and then the hotel provides the fee the rest of your time here. Amazing restaurants around and at Mezzanine as well (Thai cuisine). Would 100 percent recommend this as your next beach vacation! I recommend renting a car to save on costs but the front desk will assist you with taxi rides as well.
- Wiomy (10/5): The staff were very welcoming and informative answered all my questions about the surrounding area and activities. The l - I enjoyed that the hotel was in the notational park zone. The extra fee was unexpected since we didn’t read about the property before we arrived but I think it is definitely worth it. The ruins were so close by I could reach it with a short walk or jogging. The beaches were so clean. And the area was quite perfect for a relaxing vacation.
- Fra_Buk (10/5): Best romantic escape on the coast of Tulum! - Best boutique hotel ever! Quiet, intimate - the perfect escape on the coast of Tulum. The location is very strategic - inside the Parque del Jaguar, right were the sandy beach starts - for the entire period we were there, it never got crowded and it was extremely peaceful and private in the morning. The staff of Mezzanine is super helpful and friendly - especially Orquidia at the front desk who really helped with everything, from arrival up until the time we left. Not to mention the Thai food at the restaurant which was divine! Especially for couples, Mezzanine is the perfect place to unwind - highly recommended!
- jakobm903 (10/5): A Special stay in the heart of the Jungle - We had the best time at Mezzanine. The Beach and facilities are very beautiful and staff were especially friendly. Also loved the tea and chocolate at night that we got. as a courtesy.
- jacobie764 (10/5): Excellent ! - Our third visit . Stayed 10 days .
Really excellent room ( master suite , nr 10 , upstairs ) . Big balcony with stunning views .
Room always clean , always HOT water . Special to wake up in a bed facing the ocean . Very effective AC .
Front desk very responsive - immediately answers texts , and any request is granted !
Helpful with transport arrangements from airport .
Location is on a beautiful , clean , public beach . Soft white sand , turquoise water . Beach clubs are laid back and easy to get into ( in November anyway ! ) .
Restaurant servers are skilled and intuitive and exceptionally warm . You fellas rock !
Food is wonderful : beautiful serving warm , dishes very tasty and fresh . I think we have tried almost every dish on the menu .
Thanks to all , special shout out to the ever beautiful Jacqueline , and gracious Andy .
- felixbE4329NE (10/5): Amazing - Staff was super friendly, the food was amazing and the rooms were super nice. Beach was very clean and it’s a perfect place if you want to relax with less people.
- filicity37 (10/5): Perfect little getaway - Amazing experience!! The staff was super friendly, the food was delicious, the view was perfect, and the atmosphere was incredible. Conveniently located, it was quiet and intimate, would book again!
- Adam (10/5): A lovely hotel! - The hotel was adorable and hidden within the privacy of the jaguar park. It was on a pleasant stretch of beach, had good food, and the option to walk to two neighboring hotel restaurants if you just wanted to stay within the park and enjoy the beach. Would have loved a tv in the room, but that is only a small thing. You will likely spend your time enjoying the facilités and the beach.
- jeremytS8314EF (10/5): Mezzanine might be the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. - Our stay at mezzanine was incredible. First of all the place is so beautiful. The staff was absolutely incredible, the cocktails were on a level beyond what I’ve ever seen at a hotel, and the restaurant never missed on a single dish.
We will 100% return to Mezzanine.
- L6648CSdanielat (10/5): Relaxing Getaway - I came here for my solo birthday trip. This was a great boutique hotel, the staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. They knew it was my birthday and made sure to make it special. My favorite thing from the restaurant was the sopes but everything I had was tasty.
My room was beautiful and comfortable. Loved my view. I fell asleep to the sound of the waves. This location was close to the mayan ruins and the museum, just took a little trolley/bus. The beach water was warm and the the sand white and smooth. It is literally steps away from the this place. I loved my stay here. A single woman I felt safe here. It was a perfect relaxing getaway. Definitely far from things but that was ok with me because I was able to find reliable transportation.
- 827jaclynm (10/5): 5/5!! Thank me later - Our stay at the Mezzanine was like something out of a dream. Located on a quiet stretch of beach within Jaguar National Park, it’s a true boutique with only 9 rooms, the perfect place to relax and unwind. Every space we encountered—both indoor and outdoor, both shared and private—was impeccably maintained by the hotel’s smiling, hospitable, passionate, and incredibly hard-working team. Shoutout to David, Orquidia, Jacqueline, Andy, Wilson, Luis, Asael, and I’m sure I’m forgetting a few. Just a few highlights of our stay: breathtaking sunrises over the sea from our room and front deck, thoughtfully curated breakfast and to-die-for fresh fruit smoothies, amenities like sun hats, beach bags, and welcome margaritas, cozy pool with mini waterfalls and iguanas sunbathing on the rocks, being literal steps from the beach (in fact what I believe is the southernmost point where you still have direct access to the beach from your hotel). We happened to visit in October 2025 during a very slow period, but as long as you’re not looking for a party scene (or if you are, you’re only a short, easily summoned taxi ride away Tulum Beach and downtown), I highly recommend taking advantage of the off season. In any case, I promise the Mezzanine will exceed your expectations and make you feel like an absolute VIP!

- lisabK1075ID (10/5): A gem in the jungle! - We returned to Mezzanine for the second time after an amazing experience last year. Both times we stayed in the penthouse suites with private plunge pool. The rooms are large and have all the comforts you need for a relaxing and romantic getaway. We stayed three nights and each evening were able to enjoy the sunset from our balcony, enjoy our plunge pool as a hottub (they heat it in the evenings) and enjoy meals on our balcony.
The restaurant is some of the best Thai food we have had (get the cashew shrimp). They also serve a wonderful breakfast and beach menu during the day.
Happy hour and the cocktail menu are so well done. The bartenders and servers are always friendly and make great recommendations and drinks!
Special thanks to Jacqueline, David, Wilson, Andy, Cande and all the Mezzanine staff who made our few days away so enjoyable!
- 582lindsayn (10/5): Best option in the Park - comfort, privacy, and amazing food. - We stayed at Mezzanine for the first half of our honeymoon, wanting a more intimate hotel away from town. It was an amazing decision. The hotel only has 10 rooms and our loft with plunge pool was well worth it to have private outdoor space and an unobstructed view of the coast. Otherwise you kind of share a public porch. The room was luxury boho chic and very comfortable.
The food was phenomenal, breakfast especially which featured complementary homemade jams and a variety of Mexican dishes with a Thai splash of flavor, like basil or mango. (We ate at the sister hotel one morning and it didn’t even compare!). Cande at the bar was always there to provide a shot of mezcal or refresh our drinks. There are loungers and swings in a secret downstairs area we didn’t find until day 3, but we’re happy when we did!
The Tulum ruins were just 20 min walk (free tram too) and the sargassum was controlled in the park MUCH better than in main Tulum beach/hotel area! Re: park fee - you pay ONCE and the hotel replaces your bracelets daily after that. Well worth the safety and privacy and beauty of the park.
My only wish was that they’d made a note of it being our honeymoon, as a surprise in the room or bottle of champagne goes a long way when you choose a boutique hotel off the beaten path like this. Daily coffee and tea service was also on a request only basis, though they provided a fancy drip unit in the room.
Thank you for the lovely service. If I go back to Tulum, I would stay here again, especially having visited a few of the sister resorts and being very pleased with our choice in location/service/vibe!

- Walker (7/5): Hotel is nice but there are better hotels with more amenities! - The property was clean and intimate. The access to the beach was really nice! The food was also great, I would recommend the "mixed ceviche"! The pool was deep (I personally hate a shallow public pool) and refreshing. The room itself is super cute and luxe. We had a room with a loft and my husband enjoyed that! The beds are EXTREMELY hard and uncomfortable. The mosquitos are everywhere and they are huge, so take bug spray or buy some when you get there and you'll be fine. The beach access is right as you walk off the property however, you have to walk down a bit to avoid the rocks. We went mid September and the beachfront was consumed by seaweed. The property is located in a national park and you DO have to pay a fee to enter the park and beware that not every establishment has the same exchange rate so be careful of getting swindled on prices. Overall, it's not that big of a deal but we were not made aware of this until the night before we flew out and the hotel sent us a message with this information.
- aflegge (10/5): Perfect hospitality and relaxing vibe - The Mezzanine is a special place. Tucked inside the National park, it is peaceful and quiet and absolutely stunning with Caribbean and jungle views. The staff could not be more kind. They think of every small detail and truly cater to each guest specifically. My wife and I visited for several days on our babymoon and absolutely loved it. This is a must stay if you are visiting Tulum.
- jewel2282 (10/5): Book here! - Mezzanine was an absolute gem and the exact oasis we needed! With only 9 rooms, the staff gets to know you well and you’re treated like family. Everything was immaculately clean and taken care of. The food was AMAZING 🤩-we had a blast with Chef Jakkree doing the Thai cooking class our first night, and Asael was the most amazing and attentive waiter! (They were all awesome, but we had him several times.) ☺️ You’ve got to have the Tom Kha soup with shrimp, Pad Thai with fish or shrimp, and the coconut ice cream for dessert! The breakfasts were amazing as well.
Jacqueline was an absolute gem-she was so kind-she was never without a smile on her face and gave great advice when you asked for it.
The penthouse room was 100% worth it-with the private balcony and sitting area inside. The bed was so comfortable and the memory foam pillows were a real treat. The pictures are from room 10.
I liked how calm being inside the national park was, and how we could conveniently walk to both the sister property, Mi Amor, for a swim or to eat as well as the ruins to the North. There was fun wildlife such as iguanas and these cute mammals with long tails along the trail!
I will note that if you come during the “slow season” there may be some unexpected changes, like no turndown service, but definitely not a reason to skip out on this place at any time! The other touches of personalized service made up for it. ☺️
We felt like we were at a bed and breakfast with superior service. We can’t wait to come back! 😍
- Benedetta (8/5): -
- Gary (10/5): - From check in to check out this was an amazing property! The most friendly staff I have ever experienced and I’ve been to over a 100 countries! Great food, great location, super chill and no kids!
- Reutter (9/5): Sehr angenehm - Sehr sauber, sehr gutes Essen und insgesamt hochwertig, Top Lage, bestes Hotel im Jaguarpark, direkt am Meer Kleiner Pool direkt am Restaurant
- Fearless269411 (10/5): Relaxing Oceanside views - I spent four nights at the gorgeous Mezzanine Tulum, unwinding from a busy schedule. My sea view room overlooked the ocean, and I spent my evenings falling asleep to the crashing waves.
The property was quiet, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was special—even telling me about their Mayan heritage, and helping me practice my Spanish.
Everyone had a smile on their face and everyone was very kind, especially the front desk staff and servers.
When it comes to food, I think breakfast is this hotel’s speciality, with fresh juices and healthy options. I enjoyed the vegetarian options for dinner, and would have liked more salads to choose from.
Their sister property Mi Amor was a dream to spend the day at lounging in the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. I visited the spa twice where Adé took very good care of me, and will definitely be back!
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Lukeyjayy (10/5): Amazing stay with amazing staff - David, Andy, Jacqueline all went above and beyond. If you’re looking for a relaxing, serene, and quiet stay in Tulum this is your place. The beach is steps away and even though the seaweed during August is bad it did not affect the stay whatsoever. We can’t wait to come back. Also, the restaurant’s food was perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Emanuele (10/5): Best of the best - A dream. The room with the private pool on the terrace was amazing. Didn’t wanna leave. Unfortunately, summer season means sargasso so no use for the beach
- 745jeromym (10/5): Luxury Hotel - The hotel, staff and service were all super clean, friendly and most of all accommodating in every way. Will book again!
- amaluzv2025 (10/5): One of the best place in Tulum - Really good and nice place to stay. From the start checking in from the front desk and the front people were very nice and helpful very friendly and very nice. The people at the bar and the restaurant even the chief cook comes to the table to verify our orders and the food was delicious and freshly made with the best ingredients and the drinks also from the bar. Rooms are cleaned and ready for the guest to have a nice, clean and comfort to stay inside while outside swimming pool are also clean and well maintained.
- carlotta (4/5): Non bene!
- T8884CCnates (10/5): From the welcome margarita to the most delicious ceviche and or the fresh juices. The stay was tremendous - Was the best experience with the greatest staff and restaurant around. From margaritas and breakfast juices to stunning plunge pool views
- Paulo (4/5): Very disappointing experience – hidden fees and lack of transparency. - The room was ok Very disappointing experience – hidden fees and lack of transparency.
This hotel hides essential information that significantly affects your stay. It’s located inside a protected national park, which comes with many restrictions not disclosed in advance. For example, you’re not allowed to bring any plastic items, including water bottles. At the park entrance, the military searches your entire vehicle and forces you to throw away all plastic products.
The hotel clearly takes advantage of this situation. Prices for basic items are extremely inflated — a bottle of water costs 110 MXN. For comparison, we had bought 24 bottles (500 ml each) for 92 MXN before arriving, and we had to throw them all away.
Also, there is a mandatory park entrance fee of 300 MXN per person per day, even for hotel guests, and this fee is never mentioned by the hotel beforehand.
To make matters worse, the beach was completely covered in sargassum, which made it unusable and created a terrible smell.
While the room was spacious and nicely decorated, the bed was very uncomfortable, with a deep dip on one side of the mattress.
Also, if you enjoy sleeping in, forget it — there’s a window in the mezzanine area with no curtains, and sunlight will hit your face by 6:00 AM every morning.
⸻

- nicoledV2934RX (10/5): Absolutely THE Best - The Best.
The location, the food, the service, the people. Highly recommend. Best stay we have had insofar as customer service. Perfect for a couple but great for my daughter and I!!! Jackie and Andy and the whole staff are fantastic. The FOOD is the best in Jaguar park. The chaises on the water and swings are gorgeous. Swimming block just up the sand. Great access to the National Park, Lighthouse. and Ruins.

- rudybW4151TG (10/5): Awesome!! Place to stay and Eat !! - Great friendly staff , my wife wasn’t feeling well and Orquidia our host brought her a Mint Tea (Nice!!)also Jacqueline another host great friendly and very helpful . Over all we enjoyed our stay PLUS the food at their restaurant is SO GOOD . I highly recommend this place
- Xliu89 (10/5): Peaceful Gem in Tulum - We had such a great stay here. It’s a super quiet, cozy boutique hotel with only 9 rooms, which made it feel really peaceful and special. Our room had an amazing ocean view—we loved waking up to that every morning. The food was delicious, especially the Authentic Thai dishes. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Big shoutout to Jacquline for giving us awesome tips on where to go around Tulum. Would definitely come back!
- G1931JUnathalien (10/5): - Our stay at the Mezzanine was wonderful! The property is beautiful and well situated. Our room was gorgeous and super clean, and the food at the restaurant was fantastic. What really made this hotel stand out was the absolutely amazing staff! From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, everyone was kind, courteous and so knowledgeable. Jacqueline, in particular, was a gem and made our stay even more special! Would definitely come back to Mezzanine!
- Getaway19928644106 (10/5): Outstanding Service and Location - My spouse and I spent a week at Mezzanine to celebrate our anniversary, and it was perfect from start to finish. Every staff member was warm, professional, and made us feel truly welcome.
Our anniversary dinner was a highlight — beautifully prepared and served with care. The food exceeded our expectations every day. Jacqueline, David, Filberto, Wilson, Ramiro, Asael, and the whole team deserve recognition for their outstanding service and attention to detail.
We can’t wait to come back and will happily recommend Mezzanine to friends and family. Thank you for making our anniversary so special!
- 644jordynp (8/5): Amazing boutique hotel - This boutique hotel is very cute and aesthetic! The staff were 10/10, very helpful & sweet! The breakfast (the pancakes specifically) were some of the best I have ever had! This is definitely not a party place though, very relaxing. The only downside to this place is the location depending on what you want to do; everything is a very far walk and taxis are very expensive even if it’s .2 of a mile.
I attached some photos I took at the property for a different perspective
- Trent (10/5): - The staff and location were excellent. From the concierge, Jacqueline, and the rest of the staff the service was top-notch. The restaurant was excellent, and the deck had gorgeous view. I would recommend to anybody wanting to stay at a beautiful location.
- 702freddieb (4/5): Lovely Hotel, But a Shady Departure Experience Left Us Bitter - Mezzanine Tulum had all the ingredients for a perfect boutique escape: a peaceful atmosphere, amazing food, and stylish rooms. We had a great stay—until we had to leave.
After dinner with friends, we arranged transportation to the airport. The front desk quoted us 1200 pesos, and we confirmed we’d be paying by credit card. Come morning, we were suddenly told the fare was 1800 pesos instead. When we mentioned the previous quote, the front desk simply said it “must’ve been a mistake.” No apology. No ownership. Just indifference.
At the airport, the taxi driver demanded 1850 pesos, citing vague “fees.” When we asked for a receipt, he claimed he had no paper.
We left Tulum feeling disappointed and taken advantage of — not by a random taxi driver, but by the very hotel we trusted. For travelers who care about service, transparency, and fair treatment, I can’t recommend Mezzanine. Two star — and not lightly given.
- JORGE (10/5): - WOW! What a beautiful hotel. We booked a romantic getaway and were very pleased with the excellent care and service from the entire staff. The restaurant was phenomenal, clean, and had a great vibe with ocean views. Steps lead right to the beach.
Top mentions are for Andy, Orchidea and Jacqueline. Their services and recommendations for local places to eat and visit were TOP notch!
Our only complaint (very minor) is that the hotel is inside a national park which means you need 2 bracelets at all times and a valid hotel reservation to enter the park after hours (not the hotel's fault). Other than that, We will visit again and it is an excellent place to stay.
- 14sbDotCom (10/5): FANTASTIC experience - Fantastic boutique hotel on the beach. Fantastic Thai food and Fantastic Rooms and best is Jaqueline and her man partner at front desk. SO Welcoming and accommodating... I'm already telling all my friends to GO... Thanks to everyone...
- summerstorm303 (10/5): Believe the reviews 🎉 - I cannot say enough good things about Mezzanine! I have stayed in Parque Jaguar before and Mezzanine is an absolute gem. All the staff are incredible, but a special shout out to Jacqueline who became a mom and friend while I was solo away from home ❤️ The food is outstanding, the views and stunning and the whole area is so romantic and peaceful. I am desperately missing the custom coffee basket they deliver to your door every morning with cookies and your choice of milk. I am dreaming of returning!!
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- sulaimana944 (10/5): The Hotel was great, The staff was nice and smile every time. The room was clean, and the morning coffee was good too. - The Hotel was great, The staff was nice and smile every time.
The room was clean, and the morning coffee was good too.
For sure I will come again.
- The_Crown_Htown713 (10/5): The Ultimate Sanctuary with Views - ✨✨ Memorial Day Weekend in the Jungle ✨✨
My second time in Tulum since 2023, and this trip was all about switching things up. Last time, I stayed Downtown—this time, I craved something more serene.
📍 Where I Stayed 📍
Mezzanine, tucked inside the National Park, was pure magic. With 24-hour security, electric vehicles only, and strict wildlife protections, the area is a true sanctuary—no future development allowed. Peaceful doesn’t even begin to cover it.
🍸 Arrival & Amenities 🍹
Check-in was a breeze, with genuinely warm staff and a welcome margarita that hit just right. Mornings started with fresh coffee delivered to my room, and tea arrived each evening like clockwork.
🌴 Beach Bliss 🏝️
The private deck and direct beach access sealed the deal. I had breakfast and lunch out there daily—surrounded by roaming iguanas and the sound of waves. 🦎🦎🦎
- Lorran (10/5): Exceptional -
- seansN574XI (10/5): Paradise!!!! - The sargasso is here but so are the most amazing people..... if you want tulum all to yourself at the best hotel BOOK HERE!!!! we couldn't be happier the food was SPECTACULAR and the staff was EVEN BETTER!!!! Mezzanine will not disappoint!!!!
- Sherpa59765674023 (10/5): A true 10/10 experience - I stayed at the Mezzanine for 4 nights and 5 days during the second half of my Tulum trip. It was truly a 10/10 experience and I would highly recommend this location as your go-to for a stay in Tulum.
The hotel’s atmosphere was serene, simple, and offered a level of privacy that’s hard to find at larger establishments. The restaurant/bar, pool, lounge areas, and beach were mere steps from my room. The room itself was clean and incredibly cozy. A decent amount of time was spent in rest & solitude within the small reading nook built directly into the room. In addition, I took advantage of the private lounge areas available for use on the hotel property. I never felt crowded or that my space was being intruded upon.
The restaurant associated with the hotel specializes in Thai food, but traditional dishes were available for breakfast. Everything was consistently delicious yet reasonably priced. In the morning I enjoyed fresh juices or smoothies along with fresh fruits, savory dishes, and breads with various butters & jams. In the afternoon/evening, the Thai food was spicy, flavorful, and balanced. I was always excited to eat. Though I didn’t indulge in the wine, the list was well-curated and available by the glass or bottle. I had a few (many) of their cocktails — they were absolutely delicious and definitely hit.
The staff was absolutely fantastic. I cannot speak more highly about the individuals in charge or the rest of the staff. They are unimposing, yet kind. It felt as if they cared for guests as people and not only as customers. They offered thoughtful local recommendations and were always ready to assist with anything from transportation to trip planning.
The hotel is located within a protected natural area of Tulum and is absolutely beautiful. Having access to that area is just another wonderful perk available while staying at the Mezzanine. You’re close to many other hotel boutiques that offer a variety of services and have different food options, so it’s easy to walk between locations — I did it several times during my stay. I also had no issues getting to and from farther locations, including the excursions I participated in.
I wholeheartedly recommend this boutique hotel for your next stay in Tulum. I’ve already shared it with friends and family, and I fully intend to return. Maybe if you’re reading this, I’ll see you there!
- 980tishe (10/5): Simple, elegant couple retreat - Boutique Hotel in the middle of the park with all the amenities you need and the most kind and helpful staff. I don’t know why anyone would stay anywhere else than the park. The strip is on the same street and close enough to taxi to if you want nightlife. The food and ambience was terrific. As for the views. I would go back anytime. I think they’re only nine rooms and a full on Restaurant and Pool with a real Thai chef from Thailand, who was friendly and amazing. Jacquelyn & Orquadia are two of the many people I will fondly remember and Chef Lily!
- Maria Carmen Ines (10/5): - This was my second time staying at Mezzanine and I can say that I’d stay there again and again! Such a beautiful, quiet space with amazing staff. Felt so relaxed and comfortable here. You also can’t beat the view and proximity to the ocean! I’ll be back again someday.
- Lana_Ahrens (10/5): Relaxing! Beautiful! Amazing views! Great food! - Loved the top floor room with the plunge pool! It also had two loungers which was perfect for laying out. Friendly and kind staff. So close to the ruins- with shuttles to take you there. You can hear the sound of the ocean from your room.
Best Thai food I’ve ever had!
- O2381WBjustint (10/5): A gem! - What a lovely little boutique hotel! I stayed here on my own before heading to a local all-inclusive for a wedding and I am so glad I did! My stay at Mezzanine was the highlight of my trip to Tulum! Really nice location within a national park, very good Thai restaurant and fantastic staff. A special shout out to Orquidea at the front desk, who was very helpful and helped arrange a taxi to my second hotel when it was time. Overall, a great experience and would stay again!
- ruthsT5838NS (10/5): Lovely - Extremely romantic stay! This hotel feels so intimate and everything was of the highest quality! We ate at the restaurant and loved our meal.
- 542kerryy (10/5): Relaxing stay at the Mezzanine - Jacqueline was so helpful and sweet! This was a great stay, very relaxing, quiet, and private. Definitely would recommend!
- sparking29 (10/5): Serene and Magical - Had an amazing girls trip thanks to this hotel. What a breathtaking property in a perfect location. Bikeable to the more “happening” part of the beach but so quiet and peaceful in the middle of a protected park. The room “huts” are beautiful and homey and I loved the skylight and loft area. As two friends the bed was big enough for us to have separate sides and the loft also gave separation and space to avoid feeling cramped. I was so excited for the morning coffee baskets (pro tip, ask for the fresh coconut milk.. nothing like in the states) that I would wake up extra early to be able to enjoy reading my book with the ocean view and my coffee and homemade biscotti. The evening turn down chamomile tea and aromatherapy were a delight.
This is no all-inclusive - the drinks and food are a bit pricey - but man is the food incredible and the fresh smoothie/juice bar was awesome. Even though the pool is small it’s never full and it is so relaxing. The hammocks overlooking the ocean were my happy place.
Would 100% stay here again and will daydream of it for a long time.
Important note: Jacqueline at the front desk is an angel on earth and was so wonderful to talk to and helpful. Her recommendations were amazing and she was so committed to making our stay comfortable.
- O1774TNlesliem (10/5): Paradise and Peace - Mezzanine is the perfect place to travel solo and just relax. My room provided the most amazing view of the ocean. The morning coffee and evening tea was a nice touch. The staff was accommodating, friendly and professional. Would definitely visit again.
- paularm2018 (10/5): Amazing Experience - Amazing!!! The best Service, Food and location!
The hotel is in a National
park. You feel inside the nature
Superb location! Outstanding service, delicious cuisine, beautifully decorated rooms with great taste. Impeccably clean — a perfect stay!
- 819zackt (10/5): Perfect Stay in Mexico - This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They bring you fresh coffee every morning and tea at night. Some of the tastiest I might add. And the park the hotel is in, is beautiful! There’s a shuttle in the park that takes you around and wonderful restaurants around that you don’t have to leave! I would recommend this to anyone for their next vacation, truly a trip of a lifetime!
- Jensya (9/5): Amazing relaxed vacation hotel with jungle vibes! - It truly was an amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, Jacqueline, the manager, stood out with her exceptional hospitality. She was super nice, genuinely caring, and went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. She even managed to book us tables at some of the most popular restaurants in the area, places that normally require booking days in advance. On top of that, she shared plenty of local tips and recommendations to explore the area.
The hotel offers thoughtful touches like free coffee and tea replenished daily in the room, and even lets you choose your preferred scents and soaps for your stay—which was such a personalized and unique feature. Even though we had a no-view room, it was still cozy, clean, and very comfortable.
You can also get a parking spot if you book it in advance. And use the other sister hotel’s facility. The only minor downside was the amount of sargassum (seaweed) in front of the beach during our stay—it’s not really something the hotel can control, but it did make enjoying the beach a bit more challenging.
Also, our room had a dehumidifier which needed to run almost constantly. It was quite loud, and I had to empty it daily myself, even though cleaning service came every day.
One small moment that felt a bit unexpected was when we returned to our room right after breakfast, and someone knocked just to ask us to add the tip to the bill. It felt a bit pushy, especially since we would have left a tip anyway and they knew in which room we were staying.
The pool was quite small, so not great if the sea is not swimmable. But you can go to the sister hotel’s for free.
We also had to get two new bracelets each day for access, though at the park entrance they only checked for our reservation. It wasn’t entirely clear what the bracelets were for.
- lorenzovillaz (10/5): Four nights at Mezzanine - Tulum - From the moment we arrived at Mezzanine, we were blown away by the incredible service and attention to detail. The entire team made us feel genuinely welcome and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience.
Everyone we interacted with—from the restaurant staff to the housekeeping team—was friendly, attentive, and dedicated to excellence. The restaurant service was exceptional, with delicious food served with warmth and care. Our room was always spotless and beautifully maintained, and the staff truly took pride in their work.
Special thanks to Orquídea at the front desk, who treated us with the perfect balance of professionalism and kindness. She made us feel at home and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay.
Even the parking staff stood out by offering great local recommendations and making sure everything ran smoothly.
If you’re looking for a place with outstanding service, great food, clean and stylish rooms, and genuinely kind people, I highly recommend Mezzanine.
- Oliver (9/5): Superb -
- djamelb2016 (10/5): Lovely Stay - Mezzanine Tulum is an absolute gem. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their warm, friendly service. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing—perfect for unwinding. We especially loved the 2-for-1 margaritas during happy hour, which were some of the best we’ve had. The small plunge pool overlooking the ocean was a quiet retreat with stunning views, and the entire property had a serene, tucked-away feel that made it easy to disconnect. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax in a beautiful setting with top-notch hospitality.
- Passport19376696559 (10/5): Perfection in paradise - Our stay was incredible! We were tired from the flight and greatly appreciated the warm welcome and margaritas, then had our first dinner at the Mezzanine restaurant. We loved it so much we came back for the final night of our stay. The staff was so friendly and accommodating - they helped us book a tour for Chichén Itzá and made sure we had plenty of drinking water. We especially appreciated all the efforts of Jacqueline and Orquidia- they were so helpful and so friendly. It was also just so nice to start our day with fresh coffee and end the day with a lovely mug of tea. We didn't have a single complaint - we were so grateful to have stayed in the mezzanine
- 322gemmac (10/5): The best hidden spot in Tulum - The whole of our stay was MAGICAL. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Jacqueline who was amazing and so welcoming. Orchid showed us to our room and was equally as helpful and kind. The location is the best for peace, quiet and the cleanest beaches.
We stayed in sea view room and just WOW. The bed was so comfy, the AC was a treat in the heat, the shower was hot and powerful and the mezzanine was a wonderful spot to escape the sun and relax.
The food and cocktails were delicious (I recommend the pineapple mezcalita with a spicy rim)
There was nothing the hotel wouldn’t do to help us.
We enjoyed our stay so much we moved our flight back to have one more day/night in this truly magical space.
- hillaryp143 (10/5): Relaxing and Cozy Honeymoon - This may be the most relaxing, luxurious hotel experience I’ve ever had. My husband and I spent six nights in the Master Suite for our honeymoon, and we could not have had a better experience. The room was spacious, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. Every morning, a basket of coffee and biscuits was left outside our door, and we loved starting our days sipping coffee on the balcony. The happy hours were also a favourite time for us - the bar makes the best margaritas we had during our time in Mexico, best enjoyed from the beachside hammocks!
The location is incredible. It’s inside a national park, so you do have to pay a small entrance fee on arrival, but this limited access makes the area quiet and full of wildlife. We loved birdwatching during our stay.
Finally, the food. We ate at least one meal at the hotel’s restaurant everyday and never got bored. It was all incredible. We had our reservations about eating at a Thai restaurant while in Tulum, because Mexican food is obviously so delicious, but we couldn’t have been happier with the selection! The breakfast and beach menus also have some more Mexican classics.
Special shout out to Jaqueline and Orquidea at the front desk, who were so lovely, kind, welcoming, and helpful during our entire stay!!
- Judas (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (4/5): Worst stay in three weeks travelling Yucatan - Location This hotel stands out in creating a vipe and its own PR but it did not fullfill the created expectations and was the worst experience in three weeks travelling Yucatan
1. The hotel runs a good and popular Thai restaurant that occupies the entire deck and creates a very bussy and hectic atmosphere - not at all what they promise
2. The small swimming pool is in the restaurant area, actually cut in half by the exit to the restaurant - no privacy whatsoever and nobody thus used it
3. We had a one night stayover and chose the room without a view - which turned out to be a very cramped room in what looked like the cellar (certainly not the 20m2 in the description) with a window facing the hallway( thus no window) and a humidifyer that was necessary to keep the room dry - making a terrible noise at least twice as hard as the airco. This has been remarked before by guests - they promised to fix it, but clearly have not done so.
4 the staff in the evening serving the restaurant was very efficient and professional- the staff serving breakfast was rude, did only serve us parts of the breakfast we orderd ( we had to aak for the rest)
In conclusion this is a hotel that does not deserve the label boutique hotel and is far too expensive for the experience it offers
- Av202222 (10/5): Great getaway!! - Great place to stay highly recommend! Quiet the staff was very inviting and went out of their way to help. The room was clean, lots of attention to details. Waking up right there on the beach was stunning to watch the sun rise and ground yourself. Loved the fact there were lots of healthy options for food which was amazing. Must eat at the restaurant.
- Carolina (10/5): - Hermoso lugar, recomendable al 100 tanto comida, atenciones
- Brett (10/5): Exceptional -
- carolinewW9300SQ (10/5): perfect stay - extremely friendly+helpful staff, beautiful location, and excellent restaurant. the room was very clean and comfortable (great AC!), and coffee/tea were delivered outside the room every morning. perfect sunrise view from the hotel and lots of outdoor seating options, including hammocks, swings, and couches. the beach was not crowded and very peaceful. would definitely love to stay here again!
- barborao320 (10/5): Perfect escape - Hotel well connected with the nature, stunning view and area best for relax. Service on the top level this hotel is truly meeting all the needs and wishes of visitors. We will be always happy to come back!! Truly recommending this hotel. Sweet escape from busy life.
- jerseygirl2020s (10/5): Fabulous luxury hotel. The staff was excellent, from the concierge, to the waiters and the housekeepers - The beds were very comfortable and blankets and pillows high quality. Full length mirror, enough hanging space in closet and hangers, shower was wonderful and hot. Sometimes the shower floor was a little slippery. Towels oversized.
Resort was breathtaking! Always a place to lounge or sit and have a drink. Pool was small but sufficient to cool off.
The restaurant was AMAZING! Everything we ordered was delicious and flavorful! The drinks were excellente!
- jenniferkjellgren (10/5): A perfect hotel stay in Tulum - we will be back! - We had a perfect stay and loved everything about this hotel! We appreciated the friendly and attentive staff, the small size, the incredible restaurant and unique personal touches, and the quiet location on a pristine beach. Everything was perfect, from the coffee and tea delivered to our doorstep each morning at 7 AM to the turndown service with tea and chocolates to our request for our favorite soap and essential oil fragrances. And when you see the locals dining at the restaurant, you know you've found a great spot!
The hotel is inside the new El Parque del Jaguar, which requires an entrance fee. The hotel explained this beforehand, and we appreciated that this made the beach quieter and more private. After spending some time in bustling Tulum town, we enjoyed returning to our quiet spot on the beach.
It's rare that I visit a hotel and say I would not change a thing, but that is the case here. We had a wonderful stay and will most certainly be back. Thank you for the beautiful hospitality, Mezzanine team!
