Guest Reviews
- Willem (8/5): - Good stay over and breakfast Staff in restaurant (dinner) not up to standard
- Jeni (10/5): Wonderful stay we only wished we could have stayed longer. - Exceptional hotel, quiet and easy stop on route to Murcia. Staff were very good and the wine was wonderful, we bought some bottles from the bodega and were more than surprised when we were presented with two bottles on departure. A superb hotel, we will definitely be back. Absolutely nothing.
- Nacho (9/5): Relax - Su tranquilidad Nada
- miriam (8/5): -
- Steven (10/5): - Not the first time we have stayed here and the quality was as good as ever friendly staff good quality comfortable room nice and quiet for sleeping at night and have to say the menu del dia that we had was amazing quality and value for money The one slight negative is with the rooms being downstairs the internet quality in the room was a bit hit and miss with the signal dropping out from time to time so some form of booster would help
- Pedro (9/5): -
- Carlos (10/5): - La verdad que nos gustó todo.
- sam (10/5): Fantastic hotel - Absolutel gem of a hotel, food was exceptional, and service was excellent, highly recommend The room's walls are too thin, and the other guest can be heard until late into the night, which is very noisy
- Tegan (8/5): Stunning winery escape an hour from Madrid. - This was a stunning retreat in the middle of a dry and sparse countryside. We opted for dinner at the gastrobar rather than the fancy restaurant and the food was delicious! We had wine paring. We even got a free glass of wine after a small hiccup on signing for the bill (largely due to translation confusion) the breakfast buffet was great too. We didn’t get much daylight to enjoy the pool or tennis but we didn’t take advantage of the insight spa, it was €25 for 90 minutes of spa, float tank, sauna and more. We also were offered a box of wines at checkout which we sadly had to refuse as we were flying home to Aus that night and didn’t have enough space in the bag! Great service. The TV’s on during dinner distracted from the beautiful decor and fine dining experience. Also the aircon in the room didn’t work so we had to leave the window open overnight otherwise the room was stuffy.
Personal atento La calidad y precio no corresponde.
- Raquel (9/5): - Buen desayuno. Amabilidad del personal Poco
- Lesley (10/5): Excellent hotel and winery - It is in an excellent location.
Room are spacious and very comfortable.
The restaurant food both for breakfast and evening meal is very good.
It is a winery and the wine is good and very reasonably priced.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
- Judith (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (10/5): Estacada Spain's hidden gem - We love the Estacada we have been there 4 times now.
Great for the half way point between the Bilbao ferry and Granada
Love the rooms, the food, the pool, the people and the ambiance. The fountain which is normally magnificent was being repaired and the spa out of action. But will back in use very soon for our next visit.
Shame the Magnums of wine are no longer available, as they make excellent statement presents
- Sally (9/5): Superb - Excellent location just off the motorway in central Spain. Clean. Welcoming. Staff appeared to lack experience in the dining/bar areas. Reception v helpful.
- Susan (9/5): Superb - We only stayed one night as a break on our Journey, but will be going back. Very convenient for motorway but in middle of restful countryside.exellent free parking.loved the restaurante and excellent breakfast.
- Alan (6/5): Like the curate's egg, good in parts, but could never return. - Beautiful hotel in very good location and easy to find with plenty of parking. The reception staff were excellent and really made us feel welcome. The bedroom and bathroom were first class. The restaurant service was awful. At breakfast not offered any cooked food, served cold coffee when specifically asked for hot. Unexciting breakfast buffet. In the evening the food served was a disgrace. I was looking forward to a well-done fillet steak and received a shrivelled up sliver of meat that was burned black, served with a few blackened boiled potatoes. The requested reserva wine was served in an unmarked bottle and could have been anything and we were not offered a wine list. This was nothing like my previous experiences at this lovely hotel.
- Ian (8/5): Mostly good with minor annoyances - Pros - Friendly and efficient staff, bed very comfortable, breakfast quite good, complementary wine at checkout. Cons - sensor over bed has annoying red leds which flash all night. Curtains difficult to open.
- Eric (8/5): Great break heading to Santander. Very helpful staff with parking boat on trailer - in secure area much appreciated. Lo - Location, wine selection. Flashing red light in ceiling in room during the night.
- Angela (6/5): Disappointing - The restaurant was amazing. Wine lovely and very reasonable. TV remote was wet with water or maybe worse battery acid coming put. New remote sent via maintenance. WiFi non existent. No netflix or amazon prime. No hot water when my husband went for a bath so had to call maintenance again who sorted if after going away and coming back again. We had paid for breakfast but had to leave earlier as had to be 5 hours away by lunchtime and breakfast not served until .8am. Asked if we could have cost taken off of main meal (which was fabulous 😋) but this was not possible. Said they could pack something cold up but we said no time to stop and eat it. Was not very welcoming after driving all the way from.Bilbao and no tea or coffee making facilities. We would not stop there again but would certainly eat in the restaurant.
- Malcolm (9/5): Perfect place for stopover half way between south and north of Spain - Very nice quiet location in countryside. We stayed one night to break our journey from Almería to Bilbao. This hotel is about half way so ideally situated. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are large and comfortable and food is very good. Nothing
- Isli (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): An oasis of calm - Love the location. Halfway Between Bilbao and on the way to Granada.
Welcome was marvellous.
Rooms spacious and clean.
Linin fresh
Pool refreshing
Menu choices amazing
Vineyard wines gorgeous and reasonably priced.
Free safe parking
An oasis of calm with things to do...or not. No coffee or tea facilities. Normal for Spain but irritating.
€15 extra for a double bed in a room the same size with single beds
- John (10/5): Perfect - Best hotel ever 10/10
- Alisdair (9/5): Superb -
- Kathy (8/5): Very good -
- David (9/5): Lovely stay with excellent wines from the vineyard - Easy to find, secure parking, lovely restaurant with reasonably priced food and wine. The wine was exceptional at the Finca. We did the tour and also used the spa, both of which were excellent.
- Mivvi (8/5): A pleasant stay - The location is a few kilometres out of Tarancon so unless you have transport you are restricted in where to eat (apart from the hotel), however it's in a lovely environment with great views. We had a nice walk through the estate to the local shrine/church which was interesting.
The breakfast was fine although the hot choice was limited and only available on order (guests had to say what they wanted as soon as they arrived in the restaurant). Would have preferred to be in control of the timing!
Lots of parking including charging point for electric vehicles. Soundproofing of the rooms could do with improvement. We had a problem on our first night with a couple of men in the room next door rearranging and dragging furniture around, then talking very loudly. It was after midnight; we were exhausted having had a long drive and in the end some frantic banging on the wall quietened them down. We told the receptionist after breakfast and after returning to our room, within minutes she came to see us to offer another room which we accepted.
Spa treatments quite expensive.
- Melissa (9/5): Relaxing Spa & Tranquility in Tarancon - The bedroom was very spacious with a large bathroom. We loved the Spa which is very well designed and set out with various facilities including jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, relaxation zone and views. Fortunately it wasn't too crowded either (Monday). The breakfast waitress was very friendly and helpful. Dinner was divine! Overall, a very relaxing environment and we had a wonderful escape. Maybe an option of a bigger size of swimming cap for the Spa would be more comfortable as the black cap was very tight so I started to get a headache after wearing it for an hour.
It would also be great if the breakfast buffet could have been eaten in the bar restaurant area (which had plenty of empty tables) and had nicer morning views over the vineyard.
- Judy (7/5): Good - The meal in the restaurant was appalling very disappointing as we had chosen to stay in this hotel on the recommendation from the website
- Andrew (9/5): Lovely, quiet Spa hotel, would recommend - All of it, had everything you need. Lovely wine from the Vinyard Maybe tea and coffee facilities in the room, otherwise excellent
- Rishabh (7/5): Good -
- David (6/5): Lovely Finca - Lovely property set away from the hustle and bustle Service at the Terrazza was very poor, waited over an hour to have our order taken and no one came near us so we left
- Michael (9/5): An excellent and beautiful place to stay, conveniently located not far from the motorway. Ideal stop off when driving th - A beautiful location set among vineyards with wide ranging views of the countryside. Good parking. Excellent restaurant and bar with a range of dining options. Lovely terrace to sit and enjoy a drink before dinner. Room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very friendly. An added bonus was the onsite bodega selling very good wines at competitive prices. Nothing
- Nichola (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms were comfortable with large comfortable beds. The toiletries were fabricated by them. The food was fantastic. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The wine was lovely. We were given 2 bottles of wine free of charge on checking out. Nothing.
- Sue (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (7/5): An excellent, refreshing and peaceful interlude between two very long drives. - Beautiful location, conveniently situated for an overnight stopover driving from Northern Spain to the south of Spain. Very peaceful, surrounded by vineyards, the hotel is an elegant building with a pleasant courtyard. Lovely for a drink before dinner. Food was very good, reasonably priced wine (from the vineyard) and great staff, who coped remarkably well with our very poor Spanish. Good parking.
Our room was huge, very clean, with an excellent bathroom. We overlooked the outdoor swimming pool with lovely views across the vineyards.
- Steve (10/5): simply loved it - immaculate. friendly staff great food amazing location amazing hotel. totally recommend it
I would go back
and two bottles of home produced wine as we checked out
great experience
thank you nothing it was incredible value for money
- Michelle (10/5): Amazing place… - Our second visit to this amazing hotel! large spacious bedroom, fabulous wine and food. The staff are welcoming and attentive. Perfect!! The hotel is faultless. Our only disappointment is that we couldn’t accept the complementary bottles of wine on departure, as we were travelling on a
motorbike, so space is a little tight.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Kim (10/5): Very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable - The staff were very friendly, the Hotel has a lovely restaurant and bar. The menu was varied and the food was really enjoyable.
The spa is delightful and staff very helpful.
It was a a great short stay and we will definitely be back. Nothing
- Barbara (9/5): very enjoyable good food & wine. lovely staff - excellent stopover hotel en route to/from Santander to Mojacar nothing
- Timothy (6/5): Pleasant - Whilst leaving the restaurant during our meal to take my invalid wife to the toilet we were stopped by a member of staff who wanted to know where we were going he was informed that we were going to the toilet.
Upon leaving the restaurant a second waitress stopped us and accused us of not paying the bill.
She was also told that we were going to the toilet.
A formal complaint was made to the concierge on reception.
We then returned to the restaurant to continue with our meal.
The above mentioned situation was totally unacceptable and uncalled for and as a result I have cancelled our next visit and will no longer be using your hotel.
- Susan (6/5): A nice hotel let down by poor customer service - This is our second visit - it is a good hotel for an overnight stay after a long flight as it is close to Madrid. it’s an interesting hotel as it is also a vineyard. The staff generally were not friendly. They insist you check in online which reduces any kind of welcoming customer service.
The dinner was disappointing as we ordered the lamb but they only had one portion. So they waiter suggested the steak but he did not ask how it should be cooked.
The breakfast was disappointing and the bread was stale. the waitress was very unfriendly. There was no one in the breakfast room but she would not let us sit by the window to see the lovely view because she had the tables laid for dinner. Again poor customer service in our opinion.
- Charles (8/5): Its a nice comfortable , interesting place . Great beds and good breakfast. - breafast was a very good spanish breakfast ........not hot food We had been travelling all day and we we looking for a meal. As with many places in spain the resturant does not open until 8 30 pm . Sadly there was no bar food available pther tha cold cheese and ham. We believed from other recomendations the bar could provide hot food.
- Barbara (9/5): Superb -
- Henry (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (7/5): Ok stopover - Lovely hotel, lovely rooms.
Brilliant wine shop! Air conditioning could only be set to heat or cool across the whole hotel.
Means it's an ancient system, not appropriate when the season's changing and the weather could be roasting hot or freezing cold.
Dinner served from 8.30, usual Spanish hours, and we were in Spain, but late for us.
- Mrs (10/5): Lovely location excellent staff can’t wait to return - Friendly staff, comfortable room excellent food nothing
- Yvonne (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (10/5): excellent stopover on way to Santander - vineyard which has excellent wines and food nothing
- Graloo (8/5): A repeat visit. We tried the pool this time - cold! - We come for the wine! More tapas choices
- Paul (10/5): - We used this as a stopover and we’re so impressed that we have booked to stay for two nights on our return journey
- Beryl (10/5): Stopover from Santander to Alicante - Fabulous hotel & spa about an hour south of Madrid, within the countryside & with vineyards & olive trees as a backdrop.
Outdoor swimming pool in the grounds & various other activities which we didn’t have time to use.
Given two bottles of their own wine on checkout... nice touch.
- Peter (10/5): Excellent stay which must be repeated and extended - An excellent hotel for our family to stop. The hotel is about 5 hours from the ferry at Santander so it was a convenient stop to our drive further South.
We were warmly greeted and given clear instructions. Our rooms were spotless and well appointed, nice to have a small refrigerator to cool our drinks for the next day's journey.
Food was served from 9pm and we had an excellent meal on the large terrace (My steak was particularly welcome).
We all slept well in the silent surroundings and were fully refreshed. Breakfast (from 8am) was excellent and the Covid-friendly serving arrangements were very reassuring.
Alas we didn't have time to look at the extensive wines available in the attractive shop but this hotel has been added to our list for future visits and we may well stop for 2 nights to make the most of the tour and Spa availability.
Some people may struggle to find the location but we had no difficulty. When travelling South pass Tarancón and pick up the A40 towards Cuenca - The hotel is on the right at the first main junction on a smaller road
- Robert (10/5): - Very good service and receptionist was very friendly and Breakfast was very good
- wai kuen (10/5): - easy to catch sunrise. great food and wine
- John (10/5): Great set up - Wonderful facilities with really friendly staff. Wines are good and excellent value. Ample secure parking.
- Iain (8/5): Almost very good - Thoroughly enjoyed though the thermal pool was closed (unaware when booking) and the winery was not open for visits (again not aware when booking). However food and wine excellent and very pleasant staff.
- tim (10/5): Overnight stay - extended to two! - Fantastic place - loved it!
- john (10/5): A touch of class - Very nice hotel, a touch of class and you can buy their own wine for a song
- Ann (10/5): Super Hotel - Excellent Hotel, friendly helpful staff, excellent meals, will revisit next trip to Spain.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not ready for prime time - Stayed here to use as a base to explore a couple nearby cities. Ok in that regard, but there are probably better the facility is reasonably nice, however, no doormen or anyone to help with luggage Staff has very limited english skills. For a wine destination, the tasting was really limited...They have a shop adjacent to check in. We were told they had a "couple of bottles" open we could try. Was really interested in their whites. none were open. They opened one bottle for us, but it was rather warm and did not present well. The brochure advertised hourseback riding excursions, tours to area sites, and a gastronomy tour...when we asked about those, the front desk sort of shrugged her shoulders.
The restaurant situation was weird. They have a bar menu and bar area which is fine. the main dining room is spanish hours 11 to about 3, and then reopens for dinner 9-11. Just the way things are done in europe. What was really disappointing was the friday night, with reservations, the dining room was closed, and dinner was served in the adjacent breakfast area. Why??? On saturday, they had a huge party and mothers day to prepare for, so the bar menu was not available. Basically, you could get some olives or potato chips snacks with drinks, but nothing more to eat unless you a) wanted full dinner and b) could wait until 9.
Overall, I think they are starting up, and really focused on the spanish clientele rather than europe / international.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Have stayed before and was very impressed but I was not as impressed this time! Generally the facilities have deteriorated. The waitress in the bar was very helpful.
- Emily (10/5): Cheers! - Booked as a stop-over en route to San Sebastián and were so pleased we did. Bought a couple of cases of wine after sampling with tapas. Service very good, room clean and comfortable. Did not use the spa but would have had a swim in the outdoor pool if the weather had been better. Look forward to visiting again.
- Mary (10/5): An ideal en route stopover - Our room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and many toiletries provided. We had a room overlooking the garden and swimming pool, very pleasant. Good food and very good wines, also very reasonably priced compared to prices England. A good place to have an overnight stop and stock up with wine from the shop. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
- Phil (8/5): Very comfortable - Difficult to find on sat nav but well worth the confusion
- Alistair (10/5): Excellent find in the countryside near Tarancón - Stayed one night here in March 2015 as a stop off on way from ferry in Bilbao to Almeria. Fantastic place, not easy to find without good directions. Don't rely on SatNav, found it with Google maps though. Please not the hotel sign just says Estikada.
Lovely, welcoming staff, good restaurant and very good, cheap wine. It is a bodega as well and I took a few bottles with me.
My room was spacious, spotless and had the most comfortable hotel bed ever. Lovely countryside views from the large windows. I'll definitely be staying here again.
The hotel has a nice spa, which I did not have time to try out, as I arrived hungry at nearly 9:00pm. They also do a tour of the winery and the estate.
The hotel was good value for money all round. It would be best if you have more time to stay than I did.
- Maggie (10/5): Great once we found it - We travelled from Santander to here, delayed crossing unfortunately which meant we were trying to locate hotel in the dark, GPS was not great, but once discovered worth every penny. Staff could not have been more pleasant, room was immaculate, surprise complimentary bottle of wine, water in th fridge, massive bathroom, with all amenities you needed for overnight stay. We enjoyed it so much we would like to go back for a weekend. We had a meal in the restaurant which was well presented, not your run of the mill fast food outlet, much more upmarket. There are spa facilities if you want them also. The breakfast was continental with plenty of choice. We enjoyed a much needed rest after the long journey from Portsmouth.
