- Malou (9/5): Very comfy and worth your money - The sleeping arrangements were very nice, nice and clean rooms, enough privacy, private charger points and very soft blankets!
The staff was really nice and the lodge offered a lot of information during and before the trip. I recommend you to read trough the document they send you after you book, it’s very helpful.
Also the free breakfast is nice and the free shuttle too. I paid for a dinner at the lodge once and I got my money worth! (It’s quite expensive in Niseko but I think the lodge offeres a decent price for their dinners) The location is quite remote, I recommend you to rent a car if you’re staying at this place. I went by bus, but I had to walk for about 20 minutes with all of my stuff uphill.
I felt like the bathrooms could use more privacy.

- Carolina (10/5): Convenient, clean, comfortable…perfect - It’s extremely convenient and at walk distance to the Moiwa Resort Na
- Benjamin (10/5): Great value accommodation, excellent location and safe for Coeliacs. - Breakfast and dinner catering to medically diagnosed coeliacs was amazing as travel is always about finding somewhere safe to eat.

- judith (10/5): I’ll be back. - A quiet spot away from crowds. Amazing breakfast. The best by far was Dirk and his staff. All friendly and accommodating.

- Korngold (9/5): Loved this place! Especially if u can get a private room but even the dorms are good. I'd go back. - I loved the social vibe. It was easy to meet people. Folks in the dorm were quiet and respectful. I loved the many nooks to hang out, do yoga, look at the view etc. It was cold in the dorms. We had fabulous cozy duvets, so it was great for sleeping but a little more heat down there would be nice.

- Papworth (8/5): Awesome - Great social environment with good facilities Bunk beds mildly comfortable, good for sort term stays but not for extended time
- scott (8/5): - Bar food and service was excellent by the man running it.Good atmosphere and boot room/ski room was brilliant. Most of the staff did not seem to want to be there.

- Jasmine (10/5): Lots of fun! - Really great stay at Moiwa Lodge! It’s a fun, social spot and an easy way to meet people of all ages, especially with two (delicious) dining options on site and a nearby bar that had something happening each night. The staff were lovely and incredibly accommodating and helpful. Breakfast each morning was also great!
Moiwa as a mountain felt calm and noticeably less busy, which we loved but would highly recommend hiring a car if you want to explore nearby areas or get to other mountains easily, as we found getting around was quite tricky without one. At first the showers were a hard pill to swallow (very typical Lodge style 🤪) so be prepared! Or get a room with your own shower!!.

- Rob (10/5): Had the best time ever at this lodge, will defo go back there if heading back to the area. - Location was awesome for the local trails which were quiet compared to Grand Hirafu, buses were easy to get to Annipuri and beyond. Staff were great, especially at the bar! :) (iykyk) Good food for brekkie. Sweet onsen about 15 mins away. To get out of the top bunk is a little tricky :D
- Xian (9/5): Great stay, even greater breakfast, and super location - Great lodge with everything you could need.
Great great breakfast. Carpet floor could be cleaner/tidier (we found a couple of bracelets from earlier guests)
- Renee (8/5): Good value, more effort/patience required - - The lodge is beautiful and situated in a beautiful spot
- It’s right at the entrance of Moiwa Ski Resort and close to other ski resorts
- The bar and the restaurant serve delicious food at affordable prices and has a range of options
- Breakfast was amazing for someone missing western breakfasts
- Friendly staff These things weren’t huge issues but they were a surprise for me:
- the shower room is like an Onsen shower room where you get changed in one room, then go to the shower cubicles. It was fine, just wasn’t expecting it. Shower room was also freezing if someone hadn’t already been in and turned the heater on.
- there were only 3 female toilets, as far as I know. Maybe the private rooms have their own toilets but this was an issue every morning when everyone is getting up early.
- it was a little inconvenient how the toilets and the showers are all on different levels. Easy but a little annoying staying in the dorms which are on the basement level.
- I had a car so I was fine but I’d say you 100% want a car in this area/Hokkaido.
- Riccardo (10/5): Fantastic - Great place, very social, space and services are all on point. Really enjoyed every second of it. More variety on food would be appreciated considering not so many restaurants around or in fact more shuttle services to town.
Moiwa resort for some reason is a lot more expensive than the other resorts (like almost double!)
- DAN (8/5): It is an affordable hotel designed especially for skiers, and it also offers a good social atmospher - I think the breakfast is quite good, healthy and especially suitable for people who go skiing. There are also nice leisure and entertainment areas, and there is a bar where guests can socialize and communicate with each other. I noticed some insects on the floor in the basement area, and some other guests wore my shoes without permission.
- Felix (8/5): - - Restaurant/Bar
- Orga (cleaning, transfer, snow removal, info sheet)
- Kevin (9/5): - Good location that’s walking distance from the Moiwa slope; the complimentary breakfast is very generous and with the dining area facing the slopes; in-house bar is very cosy with great food and mean cocktail Depending on which room you’re in, it can be noisy even late into the night. While there’s ’rules’ in place, it still can get noisy given the profile of guests
- Dielwart (9/5): -
- Damien (9/5): - Super friendly staff!
- Shaun (9/5): Moiwa is beautiful, lovely comfortable lodge, please rent a car for your sanity. - Such a cozy place, wonderful staff. Not a whole lot nearby, highly recommend renting a car. The nearest konbini is in a hotel about 15 minutes walk away. Dinner is served in the hostel but it's a little spenny and you *have* to sign up in advance so they can prep. I was usually out night skiing so I couldn't sign up in time.
Only 2 shuttles to annupuri/day. Difficult to get to hirafu. Expensive to get here by bus. Honestly think a car would be cheaper.
- Benjamin (10/5): Amazing staff especially if you get to meet the owners, would definitely stay again - N/a
- Staffan (10/5): Fantastisk atmosfär och supermysig personal och en skön blandning av gäster - Fantastisk atmosfär och personal
- Lachlan (8/5): -
- Emerik (8/5): -
- Romina (10/5): - The owner is amazing and went out of his way to help me find a lost necklace. Thank you Dirk.
- Grace (10/5): - Everything is so awesome here. The owners and staff are so helpful with everything and genuinely awesome! Location is perfect and quiet and beautiful. I’m sure I’ll be back again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful lodge and location. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location for skiing; unreliable taxi access - Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable lodge. The bed was a bit dusty near the pillow and I have allergies. One suggestion I’d like to make is allow guests to sign up for a group evening shuttle at a certain time to nearby restaurants (for a fee) and then back at a certain time. Seems most meals in restaurants take 2 hours. It’s nice to try out different restaurants after a day of skiing and it’s a bummer when taxis take over an hour wait and charges 10,000 yen from Moiwa to Hirafu because they have to send a car from Kutchan. A twice-a-week free evening shuttle isn’t enough when some restaurants aren’t near Hirafu.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good - not the best location but a cozy place with helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet and nice cottage for family stay near ski resort.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - とても良かったです。また行きたいです
- Brant (4/5): Far and away - It is jus so far removed from everything and since they have you they charge you a pretty penny for everything. For example they charged 600 yen for a beer and said it a great deal. You can buy the same beer at a nicer hotel lobby down the street for 270 yen. Its a nice place if you want to be away from everything and have little access to anything else.
- masa (4/5): - 仕事泊まったので夜寝るだけだった。
外国語がダメで勝手がわからず苦労した。
- Justin (8/5): Great location, great views, thin walls - Great lodge, very comfortable. Walls are thin, so be prepared to hear everything your guests do, but a great location for access to moiwa.
- Erin (10/5): Home for ski vacation - We had the best stay at Moiwa lodge and when we come back (not if) would not consider staying anywhere else. The staff were fantastic, the rooms were perfectly warm and cozy and it felt like coming home each day after an adventure. The staff were also very helpful in recommending local attractions such as onsens and what resort would be best to ski each day.
- Ryan (8/5): Cozy with a warm and friendly staff - Great skiing to be had at Moiwa, if you don't like crowds. Super friendly and helpful staff. Cozy atmosphere, and very friendly people. Food offered was good, and a great little bar. Would recommend having a car though if you are going to stay here and want to see other parts of Niseko. Moiwa is a little bit far removed from the other resorts of Niseko United. They do offer shuttles to the skiing but if you miss them or just want to pop over to Hirafu one evening it is going to be 4000 yen each way for a taxi.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for what you paid for. - 1) The lodge is far from town or any amenities. The nearest convenient store is about 20 minutes walk to One Niseko Tower Hotel where it has a tiny convenient store located at the hotel lobby.
2) The lodge provides pick up in limited spots, so have to arrange pick up-drop up prior to your arrival.
3) Staff are all very friendly and speak wonderful English.
4) The lodge is nearby a chairlift to Annupuri - which is good.
5) The room is too cold, fortunately the blanket is thick enough to keep me warm through the night.
6) The wash basin area is without heating. Too cold.
7) There's a bar and a restaurant inside the lodge. Serve western breakfast only as I didn't see any Japanese style food being displayed.
8) Some guests are noisy and loud. Bring ear plugs.
9) Spacious common area with a great view. Weak wi-fi tho.
10) Affordable and nice outdoor hot spring resort nearby. Entrance fee only costs 800 yen. Good value.
- Jared (10/5): Great proximity to Moiwa - The staff does a tremendous job to make you feel welcomed and truly cares about their guests.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Unpretentious comfortable stay at Moiwa Lodge - Moiwa Lodge is an unpretentious old-style ski lodge. There's nothing fancy about the facility, but the atmosphere is magical. The staff are cheerful, knowledgeable and passionate about skiing/riding the Moiwa area. The rooms are spartan and the showers shared, but you're not there to spend time in your room. Hanging out in the common areas and bar interacting with the staff and other guests will make the stay memorable. Oh, and did I mention the skiing? Powderific!
- Jack (10/5): Moiwa Lodge - Absolutely fantastic stay at Moiwa Lodge. Great people and atmosphere and the staff (Satski and Todd) are great. Very helpful and relaxed.
- Derek (10/5): Moiwa lodge stay - Lovely stay at Moiwa Lodge. The owner and staff were lovely and extremely helpful and organised everything for us. Great skiing right on the doorstep.
- David (8/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay with really helpful and super-friendly staff.
Great social spaces upstairs to meet people and chat about skiing/snow conditions etc.
Location is great for skiing Mt. Moiwa but things can be tricky if you want to go for a meal in Hirafu.
Stayed in a 12 person dorm, which was a bit busy during peak season (but at least it wakes you up for the morning skiing!).
I'd definitely stay there again.
- jason (8/5): Awesome stay and friendly staff - Lovely experience moving from a ryokan at Noboribetsu to a lodge at Moiwa. The staff made it a very intimate experience. The lodge was clean and we have a great view of the slopes from room 201. The walls very abit thin but it's a lodge anyway.
Thanks to the crew, Dirk, Erin, Helen, Keegan and special mention to Megan who was super helpful.
