• Billy (10/5): Get reading and start recommending after.... - The team who was there to greet us with open arms welcome meant alot,,As for the location I can honestly say everything was not even a 10 minute walk from train station to Cambridge House Hotel, its even better for the simple fact you can walk everywhere you need to go. Pub 7 min walk there, then 2 hours walking back, lol. Will use this hotel again and highly recommend to others. All they ask for is for you to respect their property. Leaving our short stay.

There was also a warning regarding the drains' tendency to clog easily. The cleaning staff should pay extra attention to this issue during guest turnovers and just no only a warning.

Shower (head and drain did not function). Unable to open the window far. Noisy -slamming doors. No kettle or glasses or access to a refrigerator. Entrance stuffy and a bit id a rabbit warren.

• Steven George (1/5): - AVOID THIS PLACE. BUNCH OF THEIFS! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. To gain access to the property you have to pay a £50 deposit. Which is strange. After few days after my stay they gave me back the deposit, but then took £50 out of my account!! I emailed and messaged them via booking.com to sort it out. It took many emails back and forth and eventually they gave me the £50 I was owed. The SCAMMERS then set up a monthly payment plan to take £50 out of my account which I have only just realised a month later. AVOID THE PLACE
• Radu (6/5): Ok, but could be cleaner. - Hotel is very accessible and in a very good area. Room was spacious and well lit. The room was very dusty and the floor wasn't properly hoovered, even the coat hangers had dust on them. Bathroom was okay but the sink battery was broken and so was the shower handle for the hot/cold water, rain shower outlet didn't work either. Furthermore, the towels provided didn't appear to be washed properly as they smelled.

Woken up by 4pm but a group of teenagers who were let in by another person. Constantly knocked on the door at 9.30am to ask when we were leaving. Manager aware and hope they sort things out.
• Anna (8/5): - La posizione è ottima perché la struttura si trova molto vicino alla stazione dei treni, comodo per chi arriva dall'aeroporto ad un orario notturno (come nel nostro caso) e vuole trovare subito il proprio alloggio. Allo stesso tempo, è vicino al centro della città raggiungibile a piedi. La struttura è molto silenziosa, abbiamo ricevuto tutte le indicazioni per l'accesso in autonomia, in anticipo e senza avere alcun tipo di problema. Sembra che in camera ci fosse molta polvere. Il bagno un pó stretto e con la tavoletta del water rotta.

• Linnet (1/5): - Firstly, the shower in my room did not work. The overhead shower head let out a light mist and nothing else, and the handheld sprayer, while working, was extremely hot - so hot that I could not actually spray myself with the water. The temperature dial on the shower was broken so that I could not change the temperature from being boiling hot. Secondly, and more importantly, at 9:15 AM on the day that I was scheduled to leave, one of your staff members let himself into my room while I was in the room. When I made it obvious that I was in the room, he did not apologise and immediately leave, he just looked at me and said "oh, you're here". I had to ask him to leave multiple times and he inform him multiple times that check out was not until 10 am. While I was luckily dressed and working in my room, that may not have been the case and was extremely unacceptable behaviour from your staff. He did not seem remorseful and even if he had, why on earth would one of your staff just let themselves into a guests room before the check out time and without knocking.

• G (4/5): Not what I was expecting - Location was close to the train station and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was disappointing. I did not use the shower as I was not prepared to climb over the toilet. The toilet was basically in the room as was the sink. The TV did not work and cellotape was on the door handle.

Stanza piccola, ma funzionale,il bagno per quanto piccolo fa il suo dovere, il suo più grande punto di forza è la vicinanza alla stazione e a piedi si raggiunge il centro di Cambridge in 10 minuti a piedi. Se lo si usa solamente per dormire è fantastico. Palesemente stanza che non è stata pulita in molto tempo, la polvere era una presenza costante, fossi stato allergico, probabilmente avrei avuto un attacco asmatico all'istante. Un solo asciugamano medio per due giorni (tremo al pensiero di cosa sarebbe potuto succedere soggiornando per più tempo). Codice inviato per aprire la porta sbagliato, ho aspettato 20 minuti fuori dalla porta con i bagagli aspettando che mi si mandasse il codice giusto
• Jeremy (1/5): Dismal. Avoid this 'hotel'. - Nothing went well. When I arrived in the room, I found it had not been cleaned, and the floor was strewn with bedlinen, towels and coffee cups used by the previous occupants. I had to use the doorbell phone and then WhatsApp to contact the management. I received no response from them and instead a phone call from booking.com cancelling the booking and offering unsuitable alternative hotels. I have received no apology or compensation from the hotel, or booking.com.

I had to pay a €50 deposit to get the door code (and didn't get it back within a week) - there was no information about this when I booked the hotel. The soap dispensers in the bathroom were empty.

• Lucas (2/5): It will be a choice for only short stays but not if you plan to be longer in Town. - The bed was comfy, the pressence of and exit door, the general surroundings are nice. Many cool restaurants,bars and supermarkets. We arrived and the rooms have been really dirty, the fans have been full of dust seem to never been cleaned before arrivals, dirt and and dust below the bed. Yerky. The staff hasn’t even once cleaned our room during our 8 day stay.

• meurig (3/5): Getting tired and in need of attention. - Have stayed here a number of times, and it’s previously been good, but it’s on the slide currently. TV remote had gone walkabout, so no TV. Couldn’t turn the radiator down or off, so had to have the window open all night. Shower gel and soap dispensers empty. Sink very slow to empty.
• Andrew (5/5): The room provided basic sleeping space and amenities, but multiple shortcomings and inconveniences. - Room was clean, and provided basic amenities and comfort. There was no remote for the TV, so there was no way to actually operate the TV. I sent a message via WhatsApp about this, but received no response. I also tried calling the on-site contact number, but the mailbox was full, so I was unable to leave a voicemail. I mentioned this to one of the on-site staff who said he would pass the complaint along, but I never heard anything further. So, no TV for the whole time I was there, and completely unavailable/unresponsive staff. Also, it was very hot in the room, and I tried to find a way to turn down the heating, but was unable to do so. I did not find any instructions or information in the room about adjusting the heat level. Also, the overhead shower was almost completely clogged, producing only an ineffective sideways spray. I was able to shower using the handheld shower wand, but the overhead shower was unusable. Also the supposedly complimentary soap and shampoo containers were either empty or near-empty. There was no drawer or other storage space for clothes, except for a few hangers. There were insufficient hangers, and one of the ones provided was broken and unusable.

• Fatima (1/5): Horrible - It’s proximity to the station Everything else. Particularly the fact that nothing was clean. The carpet, the bedding, the towels, the floor. Simply grotesque. The towels were basically discolored, ripped and smelled of mold. The shower was not clean. Barely anyone knew how to use the provided code to enter, I constantly woke up to people just banging on the front door.
• Elies (1/5): Terrible service from absent staff, shabby room - The bed was comfortable enough, the shared pantry was ok. The location was good. It was quiet. They changed the door code and didn’t respond to any of my calls for support. leaving me stuck outside in the cold and dark at 23:20. I was lucky some other guests let me in the building and told me the new code. They sent the new door code the next evening but did not apologise at all…. There were a lot of broken or dirty things about the room: the door handle to the room came off every use; the bed side lamp flashed; brown water damage around the wall and ceiling; heavy dust in several places; the curtain was stuck permanently closed; the shower didn’t work if someone else in the building was using water (not enough pressure); the hand tap was loose in its fitting.

• Diane (8/5): Comfortable and economic room in walking distance of Gatwock. - The room was very pleasant and stocked with various amenities. Gatwick Airport is about a 20 minutes walk away through a very pleasant park. The neighborhood is very quiet. There are no restaurants in the vicinity, but the room had a microwave, so it's possible to heat up a prepared dish one can buy at the Gatwick M&S. The shower in Room 12 needs plumbing attention.
• Moussouni (3/5): Not impressed ! - The place was generally peaceful But one night there was a loud party with one of the guests and it disturbed my sleep. Not been cleaned on arrival, i.e. I hair found on pillowcase and towel. Damp smell in corridors Damp patches on walls of room Room was much smaller than on the photo. High up at the top of the building ,many stairs to reach the place. It was really too much to expect me to hike up all those steps with my baggage . The room door handle was broken and kept falling off. One night there was a loud party int he building which disturbed my sleep. The room was not lockable from inside only with entry I used a passcode to get in. One time I was sleeping and someone tried to enter the room which was confusing. The price of the place did not match the service given to be honest.

• Caroline (5/5): Ok - I know what to expect there. - Convenient position. Easy to do self-check-in using clear instructions. Tea-making facilities. I could not turn off the radiator and the room was much too hot. In trying to do so I noticed that the floor around the radiator was extremely dusty and hadn't been swept or mopped in some time.

• Anna (7/5): Decent Price, Decent room. - The rooms were decent size and decorations were nice, and the bed was pretty comfortable too. The location is close to the train station, which we enjoyed, and about a 20min walk form main city-centre attractions (Grand Arcade, Nightclubs, etc.) The bathrooms in the room did not have a proper lock, which was not a dealbreaker as I was simply spending one night in Cambridge with my husbnad - but I know this might sway other patrons away from booking a room.

• Adebola (1/5): Two nights' stay cut to one due to the incondusive environment - Nothing really - environment was marshy at the back where we paid £20/night to park (making £80 for two cars) and we were wading through paddles. The place was like a lodging and not a hotel. The shower room, sink flooded, supposedly white towels were yellowish and very old - thank God for the first time going away, I took my towels with me. Didn't realise I will be going round to get hot water from the pantry - from house 3 to 1. We only stayed 1 night as my husband and my son didn't want to stay another night at Cambridge house Hotel. So we drove back to Kent after the wedding and got home at 2:30am - preferred to spending another night. Perhaps, that's why its "pay on reserve and non-refundable" cuz you knew people won't like it.

• Alexis (3/5): If it hadn’t been for the awful mattress, it would have been very nice - I didn’t pay for breakfast, so not applicable The mattress was absolutely awful. I tried sleeping on the floor with the duvet under me, but the duvet was really skimpy and useless. The mattress absolutely needs replacing. There is a great big dip in one side and it ruined my stay.

• Amy (4/5): - The location is lovely. The room was not clean, there was dust on the furniture and floor. The bedsheets were stained, so I did not sleep directly on the bed. The general maintenance of the room was lacking (paintwork, fixtures, window that did not close properly, half-filled soap and lotion bottles) The only way of contacting the owner or a representative was either by pushing a button at the front door of the house hotel, or by knocking on the staff door in the kitchen. I asked for laundry service, as it said on booking.com that they offer it, but the representative told me they do not offer laundry service. He said that he would send a person in five minutes to my room to guide me on where to go for laundry service. No one turned up after 10-15 minutes so I had to leave. The area in which this place is located, is lovely, but the cleanliness, upkeep, hospitality, and assistance of the place leaves much to be desired. It is hard to get hold of someone for assistance. When I paid the breakage deposit fee, I was supposed to receive my room number and door code, as well as the door code to the front door, but I received no such information even after I emailed the hotel, submitted a request via their website and via booking.com respectively. When I got there, I had no information on my room and there was no one to help me initially. I flagged down a man who at first wasn't helpful, but after insistence and waiting I was able to speak to the owner and managed to get access to my room. On one of the nights, there was a group of young boys in the room beneath mine who were making a terrible racket. Shouting, talking loudly, slamming doors etc. between 11pm and around 4am.

• Allyson (8/5): Great location, good value for money, would stay again. - Great location. Bedroom spacious, clean and neat. Bed comfortable. No fridge, tea or coffee in room but there is a communal kitchen where you can make a tea/coffee and get drinking water. Heating in room could have been better, seemed a bit hit and miss. Shower head and water drainage could have been better.
• Robert (8/5): - The location was very convenient for what I wanted to do in and around Cambridge i.e., it was within a short walking distance to the train station and major bus stops.
